For the purpose of carbon mitigation, Korea needs to introduce stronger market-based economic incentives to promote environmentally-friendly behaviors of consumers. In particular, the government could consider introducing tax benefits on income taxation for green consumption, as well as public education and campaign, to stimulate environmentally-friendly consumption behaviors. In this respect, using an analysis of Input-Output and Household Income and Expenditure Survey in Korea, this paper designs four major scenarios related to income tax benefits for green consumption, and then explores the economy-wide effects of those proposed policies.

The impact of investment on economic growth has been studied by many authors around the world with different times and research methods. Therefore, there are conflicting opinions about the impact of investment on economic growth. To contribute empirical evidence, the objective of this study is to assess the impact of investment sources such as public investment, private investment, and foreign direct investment on economic growth in Vietnam in the short-run and long-run. The data used for the study is panel data from 63 Vietnamese provinces between 2000 and 2020. The inquiry method is PMG (Pool Mean Group) regression for economic growth (GDP) after testing the stationarity of the variables that meet the PMG regression condition as suggested by Pesaran et al. (1996) and Hamuda et al. (2013). The results show that: factors such as labor and trade openness have a negative impact on economic growth in the short term. In the long run, public investment has a negative effect on economic growth, while domestic private investment, foreign direct investment, trade openness, and labor have positive effects on economic growth. Labour contributes the most, followed by trade openness, foreign direct investment, and domestic private investment. Finally, the study provides policy implications for the Government of Vietnam.

The study attempts to examine the relationship among revenue growth factors from different angles and provides a comprehensive overview of tax revenue collection for developing countries. The impact of income tax, customs duty, and value-added tax on the gross domestic product is examined using the ordinary least-square (OLS) multiple regression approach. To confirm the association, a multiple regression model is applied to time-series data. SPSS software, MS Excel, is used to draw the empirical results, trend analysis, and some graphical presentation to reach the study's objective. The findings show that while the value-added tax has a significant impact and the highest coefficient, regardless of country, income tax and customs duty may or may not be significant depending on the circumstances. It triggers effectual and efficacious economic growth. The paper has implications in policy-making areas where governments are seeking how to stimulate revenue growth effectively and efficiently. To promote economic growth, the tax net and tax rate on luxury goods should be increased along with human resources in the tax administration for the short term. But in the long term, decentralization & digitization of tax administration, dismantling the existing tax barriers and good governance are necessary.

Unexpected events, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, can occur at any time and have an influence on all countries. The COVID-19 pandemic has infected more than 200 nations, including Indonesia. As a result of this phenomenon, Indonesia's state revenue system will need to be adjusted. Therefore, the goal of this research is to see if there are any differences in taxation in Indonesia as a result of the COVID-19 incident. The data was collected using the base years of 2018, 2019, and 2020. The information came from the financial statements of companies in the industrial sector that are publicly traded on the Indonesian Stock Exchange (IDX). Purposive sampling was used, and there were 54 companies represented in the samples that met the criterion. In this study, the difference test was used as an analytical technique. According to the findings, there was no difference in the pattern of tax avoidance between pre-COVID-19 in 2019 and during the COVID-19 period in terms of leverage and fixed asset intensity. It occurred because the tax avoidance policy was implemented as a short-term fiscal strategy to ensure the company's existence. Finally, because these findings were restricted to the Indonesian environment, their generalizability was limited.
Purpose: This study aims to delve into the empirical implications in management efficiency by analyzing the relation between management efficiency and debt ratio in public institutions. Methods: Based on 165 public institutions published in public business information system from 2016 to 2020, Data Envelopment Analysis(DEA) for estimating management efficiency was performed. This study analyzed the relationship between management efficiency and debt ratio using multi-regression analysis. It also examines how the relationship varies depending on the type of public institution. Results: The results of this study are as follows; We find that there is no significant relation between management efficiency and debt ratio. However, we find that this relationship can be different depending on the type of public institution. Management efficiency is negatively associated with debt ratio for quasi-market type public institutions. This negative relation tends to mitigate for market type public institutions, which suggests that management efficiency may convey differential implications depending on the type of business environment represented by the type of institution. Conclusion: The overall results suggest that the government needs to due caution in establishing a policy plan to reduce debt by increasing management efficiency, taking the specific business environment, particularly with regard the type of institution.

In the debates of development gains, the general rule is that it results from actions other than those of the landowner, most notably of the public sector as in granting of permissions for the development of specific land uses and densities or through infrastructure investments, or of socio-economic forces due to a general capital accumulation in space. A huge academic literature has investigated the development gains capture that refers to the process by which a portion of or all land value increments attributed to the community effort are recouped by the public sector. Policy instruments for applying development gains capture are based on deepening land value taxation, financing infrastructure, controling land use. But one of the most basic for the efficient policy implementation is the accurate estimation of development gains. This paper estimates the development gains generated by the total 204 building land projects of Korea Land Corporation and Korea National Housing Corporation since 1995.

This paper analyzes the effects of population aging on regional differentiation from the New Economic Geography perspective. The addition of old-age population variable affects the price index, income, nominal wage, and real wage derived in the short-run equilibrium. Using the new model, we can better explain industrial agglomeration patterns corresponding to the new long-run equilibrium. As the real wage criterion does not properly take the old-age group into account, we employ the indirect utility function as an additional condition for equilibrium. We further consider tax as a policy tool for achieving a better long-run equilibrium. This would enable the government to direct the economy toward a particular equilibrium desired in the face of population aging.
Japanese economy suffered from a great recession for one decade between 1993 and 2002, because of the bubble bursting. Recently, a similar situation broke out in the USA and spread throughout the world. This paper investigated the effects of economic policy on the Japanese depression in order to find out how the recession, caused by financial crisis, can be reasonably removed. The analysis of documentary records indicate that there exists an optimum rate in government debt and the point in time of economic policy is decisive. Statistical studies with a VAR model and a State Space Model suggest that government expenditures affect the growth rate of national product but with a short term and it has a time lag of a half year. Income tax has a grievous negative effect on the growth rate with a long term and it works without a time lag. Therefore the increasing of taxation should be put into force very carefully. However private investment is a determinate factor for the recovery of depression.
The purpose of this study is to analyze Korean game-related issues and policies to increase the effectiveness of related policies in the future and to increase the consistency of social norms of the policies. this study analyzes related issues by analyzing changes in Korean newspaper articles using spline function and text mining methods, and analyzes the contents of newspaper articles at the time of amplification of issues to present major issues and development directions. As a result of the analysis, game-related issues appeared in various topic, and there are not only support from the government and local governments but also coexisted with game-related regulations (taxation, gambling regulations, game addiction disease, and prevention of fee expansion). Despite regulations, the government presents preemptive responses to problems caused by the application of metabuses and NFTs to games, fostering game-related experts, start-up support, and supporting manpower departure as policy implications.

The Mangi yoram("萬機要覽"), a guidebook of state affairs, was published by royal command in the late Joseon period. Its chapters on financial affairs(財用篇) are particularly remarkable, as they explain on all aspects of the national finance of the late Joseon period in a clear manner. The financial part of the Mangi yoram includes metallic mineral resources, such as the location of gold, silver, copper, lead deposits and the prosperity and decline of the mines, and the various uses of each of the minerals. These are still regarded as valuable resources. Its contents on agricultural geography comprise not only the total yearly output of grains, paddyfields and dryfields, their taxation and standards of taxation, but also ginseng which was famous in the outside world in the pre-modern era. The book also clearly explains distribution of agricultural dikes for irrigation and their functions. The book also contains information on forestry geography, e.g. the varieties of pine trees and their distribution and mountain containment policies. Contents related to commercial geography consist of material on different types of markets such as the yukuijeon(六矣廛), sijeon(市廛), peongsisuh(平市署), nanjeon(亂廛), and the distribution, size and prosperity and decline of the border markets of the northern frontier such as the hoeryungkaesi(會寧開市) and geongwonkaesi(慶源開市). Contents related to transport geography are the distribution and functions of government granaries etc. Obviously, this book contains detailed information on various aspects of Korean geography. If we try to understand the contents of this book from the framework of modern geographical classification schemes, the geographic information contained in the book assumes even greater significance. In sum one may conclude that this book, which the king kept by his side, contained useful geography related knowledge and necessary information, and was directly relevant to the administration of the country. It exerted immense influence on the contemporary intellectual world of Joseon Korea, and was regarded as an invaluable resource.
