맛에 대한 감도와 MSG 첨가에 따른 맛의 강도 변화 (Taste Sensitivity and Changes in Taste Intensity with the Addition of MSG)

  • Sucrose, NaCl, citrate, caffeine 및 MSG의 용액을 준비한 뒤 관능검사를 통하여 최소감미량을 측정하였고, 네 가지 기본맛과 MSG의 상호작용을 알아보기 위하여 세 가지 다른 강도의 기본맛 용액과 MSG를 혼합시킨 뒤 맛의 강도 변화를 조사하였다. 기본맛의 최소감미량은 단맛은 0.451%, 짠맛은 0.01%, 쓴맛은 0.005%, 그리고 신맛은 0.004%로 측정되었고, 최소감미량 농도가 가장 큰 것은 단맛, 가장 작은 것은 신맛으로 나타났다. MSG의 최소감미량은 0.033%로 짠맛 최소감미량의 약 3배 정도였다. MSG첨가에 의한 네 가지 기본맛 성분의 맛강도 변화를 알아 본 결과는 다음과 같다. 강도 10인 10% Sucrose 용액에 0.8%의 MSG가 혼합되었을 때 단맛 강도가 유의적으로 감소하였으며, MSG는 Sucrose의 단맛을 대체로 저하시키는 경향을 나타내었다. NaCl용액에 대해서는 농도에 상관없이 MSG가 짠맛 강도를 유의적으로 증가시키는 경향을 보였다. Citrate용액에 대해서는 신맛강도를 약간 저하시켰으며, 그리고 caffeine용액에 대해서는 MSG가 오히려 쓴맛을 강화시키는 효과를 나타내었다.

Self-care Through Dynamic Appetite Alteration: A Grounded Theory Study of Patient Experience on Maintenance Hemodialysis

  • Hemodialysis (HD) patients can experience appetite alterations that affect meals and nutritional status. Few qualitative studies have assessed the chronic impact of HD on the everyday diet. This study aimed to characterise comprehensively the experiences of HD patients adapting to appetite alteration. Semi-structured, face-to-face interviews were conducted in a unit of a tertiary hospital to understand patient experiences with appetite alteration. An interview guide was used to consider adaptive processes developed after reviewing the literature and based on the researchers' clinical experiences. A single researcher conducted all interviews to maintain consistency in data collection. The interview content was analysed using Nvivo 11 based on grounded theory and constant comparison analysis. As a results, the mean age and HD vintage of 14 participants were 60 and 5.8 years, respectively. We developed a self-care model based on HD patient experiences with appetite alteration based on axial and selective coding. Differences in urea sensitivity, taste alteration, and social support could be explained by timing of transitions, life events, and responses to stress. Self-care processes are adapted through the processes of "self-registration" and "self-reconstruction," starting with "disruption." At the stage of adjustment, 4 self-management types were derived based on pattern of self-care: self-initiator, follower, realist, and pessimist. The results of this study provide unique qualitative insight into the lived experiences of HD patients experiencing appetite alteration and their self-care processes. By recognising dietary challenges, health teams can better support HD patients in the transition from dietary education to self-care.

뇌성마비 아동의 운동 및 처리기술에 영향을 미치는 감각처리 요인 (The factor of sensory processing that affect on the motor and process skill of children with cerebral palsy)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 뇌성마비의 아동의 운동기술과 처리기술에 영향을 미치는 감각처리 요인을 증명하여 뇌성마비 아동을 위한 재활 치료 중재 시 임상적 고려 사항을 파악하고자 하였다. 서울시 소재 J 소아발달센터와 N 재활병원 병원에 내원 중인 뇌성마비 아동 36명을 대상으로 운동 및 처리기술 평가와 단축형 감각 프로파일 검사를 실시하였다. Pearson의 상관계수를 이용하여 뇌성마비 아동의 운동기술과 처리기술 및 감각처리능력과의 상관관계를 검증하였고, 위계적 다중회귀분석을 통해 운동기술과 처리기술에 영향을 주는 주된 감각처리 요인들을 검증하였다. 연구 결과, 운동기술은 감각처리 항목 중 청각여과하기, 활력부족/허약, 시/청각 민감성 항목과 유의미한 상관성을 나타내었다. 처리기술은 촉각민감성, 맛/냄새 민감성 항목과 유의미한 상관성을 나타내었다. 위계적 다중회귀 모형에서 운동기술에 영향을 주는 주요 요인은 움직임 민감성, 청각여과하기, 활력부족/허약 항목이었다. 처리기술에 영향을 주는 요인은 본 연구의 모형에서는 확증되지 않았다. 이번 연구는 뇌성마비 아동을 대상으로 일상생활 활동시 운동기술과 처리기술에 영향을 주는 감각처리 요인들의 관련성과 주요 요인을 검증하여 재활치료를 위한 기초자료를 제공하는데 그 의의가 있다. 추후 연구에서는 더 많은 뇌성마비 아동의 집단을 대상으로 연구가 진행되어 본 연구에서 확인되지 못한 처리기술에 영향을 주는 감각처리 요인들을 검증해볼 필요가 있다.

뇌병변 장애 아동의 아동용 전산화 인지재활 프로그램(CoTras-C) 사용 전·후 비교 (Comparison Before and After the Application of the Computerized Cognitive Rehabilitation Program(CoTras-C) for Children with Cerebral Palsy)

  • Purpose : In this study, we applied a computerized cognitive rehabilitation program (CoTras-C) for children with cerebral palsy. Research was conducted to investigate the impact of upper limb function, sensory function, and activities of daily living. Methods : The study period lasted 10 weeks from October 2019 to December 2019. The study subjects were 12 subjects according to the selection criteria, and a computerized cognitive rehabilitation program (CoTras-C) was conducted twice a week for 30 minutes before and after the application of basic occupational therapy. Results : As a result of the computerized cognitive rehabilitation program, scores of upper limb function (QUEST), sensory function (SSP-2), and daily life activity (WeeFIM) were significantly improved (p>.05). From the result of examining the motor area, improvement in fine-motor function and protective extension through touch pad or controller operation was found. It also showed improvement in activities of daily living including motor and activities of daily living including social cognition. In the sensory function evaluation, it was not significant in movement sensitivity. Significant differences were shown in the items excluding olfactory/taste sensitivity. Conclusion : The application of the computerized cognitive rehabilitation program (CoTras-C) showed significant results in upper limb function, sensory function, and daily life activities of children with brain lesions. Based on these results, future studies need to generalize the study by expanding the age or population of children with brain lesions, or by expanding the diversity of diseases and environments.

한국인의 단맛수용체유전자 TAS1R2 다형성분석 및 일배체형 연구 (Genetic Polymorph isms and Haplotype Analysis of Sweet Taste Receptor TAS1R2 Gene in the Korean Population)

  • 단맛은 인간이 느낄 수 있는 다섯 가지 감각 중 하나로, 열량을 제공하며 식욕을 결정하는데 중요한 요인이다. 인간이 맛물질을 느끼는 민감도 차이에 유전적인 요인이 중요한 역할을 한다는 사실이 알려진 바, 본 연구에서는 한국인 98명을 대상으로 단맛을 결정하는 미각수용체 TAS1R2 유전자에 대해 염기서열분석법을 이용한 단일염기 다형성 종류 및 빈도, 그리고 일배체형 분석을 수행하였다. 그 결과, TAS1R2 유전자로부터 총 12종류의 SNP이 검출되었으며 약 70%는 아미노산 치환을 일으키는 변이로 확인되었다. 특히, 231번째와 950번째 변이는 본 연구를 통해 처음으로 발견된 새로운 것으로 한국인 집단에서 특이적으로 존재하는 SNP일 가능성이 높다고 판단된다. 일배체형 분석결과에 따르면, 발견된 20 종류 일배체형 중 세 가지가 주로 한국인이 가지는 것으로 확인되었다. 본 연구결과 발견된 TAS1R2 유전자의 SNP은 향후 단맛물질을 감지하는 인간의 민감도차이를 결정하는데 유전적 요인으로 작용하는지 알아보는데 중요한 기초자료를 제시해 주리라 생각되며 맞춤형 식단 등 영양유전학 분야에 응용될 수 있을 것이다.

하악과두골절 수술 후 발생한 Frey Syndrome (Frey Syndrome after Retromandibular Approach for Condyle Fracture Reduction)

  • Frey syndrome is a disease characterized by abnormal sweating, facial redness, and rare pain by stimulation of taste sense on the limited area dominated by the auriculotemporal nerve and great auricular nerve. Although the developmental mechanism and histopathologic cause of Frey syndrome are still being debated, the most reliable theory is based on injury of the parathympathetic nerve connected to the auriculotemporal nerve continuing to abnormal regeneration. The other theory is that the sweat glands develop an increased sensitivity after degeneration of sympathetic fibers. Therapy of Frey syndrome includes drugs, radiographic treatment, and surgical treatment; however, in most cases, treatment is not satisfactory. This is a case report on a 24-year-old male patient with Frey syndrome caused by the fracture reduction with retromandibular approach after multiple facial traumas and spontaneous healing without any special treatment.

김인후의 48영에 표상된 소쇄원의 소리풍경 (Soundscapes of Soswaewon Represented in Kim In-Hu's 48 Poems)

  • This study aims to rediscover the meaning and value of Soswaewon construction represented in Kim In-Hu's 48 poems on the basis of the concept and idea of soundscape. It classified the landscape resources through the various emotional elements such as the sense of sight, hearing, smell, touch, taste, and warmth described in the 48 poems of Soswaewon, and also interpreted the meaning and value of Soswaewon construction. Appreciating various sounds of Soswaewon, Kim In-Hu understood a sound as an important element of the landscape. Also, he abundantly wrote down the interesting changes of Soswaewon which vary depending on time or seasons. The 48 poems contain the scent and feel of Soswaewon as well as the soundscapes which can be heard with ears. A variety of sounds heard in Soswaewon are the whole senses which are combined with the chill of Soswaewon, the fragrance of trees and the mystery of the mountain, etc, and they mean the wider world much more than the value of physical sounds. Soundscapes of Soswaewon are becoming an emotional space which intactly conveys not only the musical inspiration but also the scent of life to us.

ASIC2a-dependent increase of ASIC3 surface expression enhances the sustained component of the currents

  • Acid-sensing ion channels (ASICs) are proton-gated cation channels widely expressed in the nervous system. Proton sensing by ASICs has been known to mediate pain, mechanosensation, taste transduction, learning and memory, and fear. In this study, we investigated the differential subcellular localization of ASIC2a and ASIC3 in heterologous expression systems. While ASIC2a targeted the cell surface itself, ASIC3 was mostly accumulated in the ER with partial expression in the plasma membrane. However, when ASIC3 was co-expressed with ASIC2a, its surface expression was markedly increased. By using bimolecular fluorescence complementation (BiFC) assay, we confirmed the heteromeric association between ASIC2a and ASIC3 subunits. In addition, we observed that the ASIC2a-dependent surface trafficking of ASIC3 remarkably enhanced the sustained component of the currents. Our study demonstrates that ASIC2a can increase the membrane conductance sensitivity to protons by facilitating the surface expression of ASIC3 through herteromeric assembly.

  • The purpose of this study is to consider the characteristics of character's body-image throughout the on-line games and with this study we researched the symbolic meaning reflected by the character's body-images throughout the fashion. The characteristics of the body-images presented in modern fashion is expressed in 4 features on Lineage II game. First, it adopts the ways in which modern fashion expresses the erotic image and represents various sexual stimulation, which can not be represented in the real world, in cyberspace. Second, it expresses the beauty and taste in sensitivity by exchanging the items, which are the features of body-image, each other as the neutral body-image and pursuits for the double side feature between males and females by dismantling the point of view to sex. Third, it shows the new value system different from the existing one by using extraordinary items and materials that you've never seen in real fashion as the abnormal body-image expressed in informal and inaccurate principal of deformation. Fourth, it show the body with the items which induces more interest and curiosity than the real world do as the humorous body-image accompanying with childish amusement and pleasure.

유리 기판 위에 제작된 Nitrocellulose/MWCNT 박막의 질소가스 검출특성 (NOx Gas Detecting Properties of the Nitrocellulose/MWCNT Thin Film Coated on the Glass Substrate)

  • NOx is one of the toxin gases, which is mainly causing the optic-chemical smog phenomena, and decreasing in the function of nose and taste. Especially, NO is easily reacting with $O_3$, and then becoming the $NO_2$. $NO_2$ is mainly causing the acidulation rain. So, we should develop the NOx gas sensing system to detect NOx gas. In this paper, we present the microstructure and the NOx gas detecting properties of the nitrocellulose/MWCNT thin film coated by the air-spray on the glass substrate. The nitrocellulose/MWCNT-based gas sensors have been studied detecting NOx molecules of a ppm-level at the temperature range of $30{\sim}120^{\circ}C$. The resistance of the sensors decreases when the sensors are exposed to NOx gas. As a results, we obtained the nitrocellulose/MWCNT sensors with the sensitivity of 0.6%/sec under the 0.8 ppm of NOx gas concetration. Also, we get the activation energy of 0.202eV from the sensor for the 0.3 ppm of NOx gas concentration.
