  • This paper proposes fast speaker adaptation method using artificially distorted speech in telematics terminal under the car noise environment based on eigenspace-based maximum likelihood linear regression (ES-MLLR). The artificially distorted speech is built from adding the various car noise signals collected from a driving car to the speech signal collected from an idling car. Then, in every environment, the transformation matrix is estimated by ES-MLLR using the artificially distorted speech corresponding to the specific noise environment. In test mode, an online model is built by weighted sum of the environment transformation matrices depending on the driving condition. In 3k-word recognition task in the telematics terminal, we achieve a performance superior to ES-MLLR even using the adaptation data collected from the driving condition.

A Decision Support Methodology for Remediation Planning of Concrete Bridges

  • Bridges are critical and valuable components in any road and rail transportation network. Therefore bridge remediation has always been a top priority for asset managers and engineers, but identifying the nature of true defect deterioration and associated remediation treatments remains a complex task. Nowadays Decision Support Systems (DSS) are widely used to assist decision makers across an extensive spectrum of unstructured decision environments. The main objective of this research is to develop a requirements-driven methodology for bridge monitoring and maintenance which has the ability to assess the bridge condition and find the best remediation treatments using Simple Multi Attribute Rating Technique (SMART); with the aim of maintaining a bridge within acceptable limits of safety, serviceability and sustainability.

  • This paper proposes an optimal redundancy resolution of a kinematically redundant manipulator while considering homotopy classes. The necessary condition derived by minimizing an integral cost criterion results in a second-order differential equation. Also boundary conditions as well as the necessary condition are required to uniquely specify the solution. In the case of a cyclic task, we reformulate the periodic boundary value problem as a two point boundary value problem to find an initial joint velocity as many dimensions as the degrees of redundancy for given initial configuration. Initial conditions which provide desirable solutions are obtained by using the basis of the null projection operator. Finally, we show that the method can be used as a topological lifting method of nonhomotopic extremal solutions and also show the optimal solution with considering the manipulator dynamics.

  • Recently, a structure has been larger and higher under the improvement of construction technique. So, a concrete constructions that a mat foundation thickness of structure is over 80cm have been many. Also, because of the reason high strength concrete, the matter of thermal crack have become an important task to be solved absolutely. In a cause a thermal crack occurrence, there used, mixture of concrete, construction and so forth. In this study, we executed temperature and stress analysis of mat foundation to know the effect the construction condition a thermal crack of mat foundation. And we evaluated quantitatively about the occurrence possibility of thermal crack using the hydration heat analysis program. By using of this analysis technique, will can control skilfully the quality of a mat foundation in advance.

Nowadays Decision Support Systems (DSS) are used extensively to assist in decision-making across a wide spectrum of unstructured decision environments. In this paper a requirements-driven framework is used to develop a risk based decision support model which has the ability to quantify the bridge condition and find the best remediation treatments using Multi Attribute Utility Theory (MAUT), with the aim of maintaining a bridge within acceptable limits of safety, serviceability and sustainability.

국가중요시설 경비원의 직무여건과 직무만족도의 관계 (The relationship of the office given condition of the country important facility private security and job satisfaction degree)

  • 본 연구는 국가중요시설 경비원의 직무여건 실태와 직무만족도의 관계를 알아보는데 목적이 있다. 국가중요시설 경비원들의 실상을 직접적으로 파악 분석하고자 통상적인 측정도구인 설문지를 활용하여 부산과 울산지역의 국가중요시설인 공항 및 항만지역과 일반사업장에 근무 중인 경비원을 대상으로 하였다. 시설주 및 경비업체 담당자에게 충분한 설문취지를 설명하고 문항을 사전 검토하였고 총400부를 배포하였으며 이중 논제의도와 부적합한 설문지를 제외한 331부(82.8%)를 분석에 활용하였다. 수집된 자료의 통계처리는 데이터코딩과 클리닝과정을 거쳐 SPSS version 15.0 통계패키지 프로그램을 활용하여 빈도분석, 신뢰도분석, t-test, 일원변량분석, 상관관계분석, 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 국가중요시설에 대한 경비원의 직무여건 실태와 직무만족도의 관계를 대인관계, 직무특성, 직무환경, 보수 요인으로 구분하고 일반적인 특성에 따른 직무만족도의 차이를 검증하였다. 이상의 연구방법을 통하여 얻은 결론을 보면 일반적인 경향은 저임금과 열악한 현장 환경은 지속되고 있었다. 일반적인 특성에서 남자가 여자보다 직무만족 수준이 높았고, 연령은 많고 학력은 낮을수록 높았으며, 경력과 소득이 많을수록, 시설보안요원보다 청원경찰이나 검색 및 안내요원이 높았고 입사 전 학생인 경우가 가장 낮게 회사원과 기타 직업군이 비교적 높은 직무만족도를 보였다. 상관관계 분석결과 직무만족이 높을수록 이직의사는 낮아지고 조직몰입도는 증가했다. 회귀분석결과 직무만족도가 이직의사와 조직몰입에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 직무특성과 직무환경 수준이 낮을수록 이직의사에 영향을 미쳤고, 직무특성에 대한 만족도와 대인관계, 보수, 직무환경 수준이 높을수록 조직몰입에 영향을 미쳤다. 금번의 연구결과를 종합하면 국가중요시설 경비인력 현장에서의 직무여건 개선노력, 청원경찰과 특수경비원간, 조직 내 상하 간의 대인관계 정립, 실질적인 보수 현실화를 포함한 정책적인 제도의 뒷받침이 절실하다.

심전도(LF/HF)를 활용한 졸음운전 예방 연구 (Study on Prevention of Drowsiness Driving using Electrocardiography(LF/HF) Index)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between the index of Electrocardiography(LF/HF) and the occurrence of drowsiness driving while driving in a simulated situation. Participants were 31 undergraduate students with an experience in driving and they participated 30 minutes driving under enough sleep condition and 1 hour under the sleep deprivation condition. The Euro Truck Simulator II was used for driving simulation task and ECG and perceived drowsiness of each participants were measured during two driving conditions. Perceived sleepiness recorded by the checklist every 10 minutes and ECG data extracted before and after 15 seconds of every 10 minutes to verify the relationship between two variables. The results showed that the level of perceived sleepiness under sleep deprivation condition was higher than that under the enough sleep condition, and the level of LF/HF under sleep deprivation condition was lower than that under the enough sleep condition. In addition, the result of analysis of repeated measure ANOVA for ECG indicated that authentic sleepiness revealed in 20 minutes after the start of driving under the sleep deprivation condition. However, the result of perceived drowsiness indicated that authentic sleepiness revealed in 30 minutes after the start of driving. These result suggest that the time difference between biological and perceived response on drowsiness may be exist. Finally, the significant negative correlation between the LF/HF level and perceived drowsiness was observed. These findings suggest that ECG(LF/HF) can be an possible index to measure drowsiness driving.

Preferences of Malaysian Cancer Patients in Communication of Bad News

  • Background: Breaking bad news to cancer patients is a delicate and challenging task for most doctors. Better understanding of patients' preferences in breaking bad news can guide doctors in performing this task. Objectives: This study aimed to describe the preferences of Malaysian cancer patients regarding the communication of bad news. Methodology: This was a cross-sectional study conducted in the Oncology clinic of a tertiary teaching hospital. Two hundred adult cancer patients were recruited via purposive quota sampling. They were required to complete the Malay language version of the Measure of Patients' Preferences (MPP-BM) with minimal researcher assistance. Their responses were analysed using descriptive statistics. Association between demographic characteristics and domain scores were tested using non-parametric statistical tests. Results: Nine items were rated by the patients as essential: "Doctor is honest about the severity of my condition", "Doctor describing my treatment options in detail", "Doctor telling me best treatment options", Doctor letting me know all of the different treatment options", "Doctor being up to date on research on my type of cancer", "Doctor telling me news directly", "Being given detailed info about results of medical tests", "Being told in person", and "Having doctor offer hope about my condition". All these items had median scores of 5/5 (IQR:4-5). The median scores for the three domains were: "Content and Facilitation" 74/85, "Emotional Support" 23/30 and "Structural and Informational Support" 31/40. Ethnicity was found to be significantly associated with scores for "Content and Facilitation" and "Emotional Support". Educational status was significantly associated with scores for "Structural and Informational Support". Conclusion: Malaysian cancer patients appreciate the ability of the doctor to provide adequate information using good communication skills during the process of breaking bad news. Provision of emotional support, structural support and informational support were also highly appreciated.

CoAP 기반의 스트리밍 환경에서 사용자 체감품질 향상을 위한 전송량 조절 기법 (Rate Control Scheme for Improving Quality of Experience in the CoAP-based Streaming Environment)

  • 최근 사물인터넷 이용자수의 증가에 따라 IETF(Internet Engineering Task Force)에서 CoAP(Constrained Application Protocol) 표준을 발표하면서 활발한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 그러나 기존 연구들은 자원이 제한적인 사물인터넷 환경에 맞게 전송 단위인 블록을 한 개씩 전송하기 때문에, 낮은 전송량으로 인한 버퍼 언더플로우의 발생으로 스트리밍 서비스에 적용되기 어렵다. 제안하는 기법은 전체 메시지 중 CON(Confirmable) 메시지의 비율을 적응적으로 조절하여 정확한 네트워크 상황을 예측하고, 이를 기반으로 버퍼 점유율, 콘텐츠 다운로드율을 이용하여 블록의 개수를 결정한다. 따라서 버퍼 언더플로우에 의한 재생 끊김을 완화하여 사용자 체감품질을 향상시킨다. 실험 결과를 통하여 제안하는 기법이 네트워크 상황에 따른 전송량 조절로 인해 사물인터넷 스트리밍 환경에서 버퍼 언더플로우 문제를 해결함을 확인하였다.

뉴로피드백 훈련이 회상기억과 재인기억에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Self-Regulated Neurofeedback Training on Recall and Recognition)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 초등학교 학생들을 대상으로 뇌파 자기-조절 뉴로피드백 훈련이 회상기억과 재인기억에 미치는 효과를 검토하는 것이다. 이를 위해 36명의 초등학교 학생들을 자기-조절 4 회기의 뉴로피드백 훈련을 받는 훈련집단과 이러한 처치가 제공되지 않은 통제집단으로 각각 18명씩 무선할당한 후에, 각 회기에 따라 회상기억과 재인기억 수행의 변화를 관찰하여 분석하였다. 그 결과 회상기억과 재인기억 모두 자기-조절 뉴로피드백 훈련집단이 통제집단에 비해 더 우수한 수행을 보였을 뿐만 아니라 훈련회기가 증가함에 따라 두 가지 수행치 모두 향상되는 것이 관찰되었다. 특히 기억해야 하는 표적단어의 수로 조작한 과제의 난이도가 증가 할수록 훈련 효과도 더 증가하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 자기-조절 뉴로피드백 훈련이 피훈련자의 주의력을 향상시켜 주요 인지과정 중 하나인 단어 기억 수행을 향상시키는데 도움이 될 수 있다는 것을 시사한다.
