The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of convergent approach of mathematics education on students' problem-solving ability and self-efficacy by designing and applying mathematics curriculum based on STEAM. The results are as follows. First, the test results between the two groups did not show any statistically significant difference in terms of problem solving ability, but the experimental group showed a higher average score than the comparative group. Compared with the standard deviation of the experimental group, It can be seen that the level of difference between students is great. This suggests that STEAM-based mathematics lessons have a positive effect on the problem solving ability of low-level students. Second, the results of the self-efficacy t-test of STEAM-based mathematics class showed statistically significant results at a 5% significance level. In the sub-domain, the preference for the difficulty of the mathematics task, except math self-confidence and the math self-regulation efficacy, were statistically significant at a 5% significance level. This study shows that STEAM-based mathematics classes have a positive effect on the students' positive aspects. Through the STEAM program, students learn that mathematics is connected with other fields, and it provides an opportunity to explore on their own, and they more became interested, motivated, and achievement. Also, through the results of the STEAM-based mathematics class, it can be seen that the expressive power and self-confidence are increased by using the non-formal representation outside of the existing formal representation center. The result of this study can be summarized as follows: A STEAM-based mathematics class has a positive effect on problem solving ability and self-efficacy. Therefore, it is interpreted that the application of the STEAM program focusing on mathematics accounts for education effectives.
The purpose of this study was not only to identify the level of health literacy, self-management knowledge and self-care behavior, but also to identify the relations those variables in elders with hemodialysis. The subjects of this study are 193 patients from dialysis clinics of nine hospitals in Incheon who aging over 60 years old. Data collection was conducted by using Health Literacy Scale, Self-Management Knowledge Scale, and Self-Care Behavior Scale. The data were analysed by descriptive analysis, t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson correlation coefficient using SPSS statistics 23.0 program. In the results, average score of subjects' health literacy, self-management knowledge and self-care behavior were 13.66(±2.09), 13.33(±1.85) and 63.95(±10.32), respectively. There were significant positive correlation between self-management knowledge and health literacy (r=0.37, p<.001) and reading comprehension part which is subscale in health literacy (r=.25, p=.001). Also, there was significant positive correlation between self-management knowledge and self-care behavior (r=0.15, p<.05). According to the above results, for improving the self-care behaviors in elders with hemodialysis, it is necessary to provide tailored education based on his/her level of health literacy.
Online learning at a medical school was evaluated and improved based on the results of the evaluation and the principles of online learning environments design. The purpose of this study was to compare the results of online learning satisfaction between semesters from medical students and professors. To evaluate online learning, satisfaction surveys for an online learning platform, student participation, learning methods, learning contents, student assessments, and learning supports were developed and distributed to research participants. 223 students and 37 professors participated for the 1st semester, and 218 students and 49 professors participated for the 2nd semester, and paired t-tests were used for the analysis. Student satisfaction for the online learning platform, learning methods, learning contents, and learning supports were positively changed. However, the differences in the satisfaction for the student participation and student assessments were not statistically significant. In particular, students' satisfaction in basic medical sciences and clinical medicine periods decreased, whereas students' satisfaction in preclinical medicine and clinical clerkship periods increased. Based on the results, this study will contribute to the improvement of online learning at medical schools.

This study was conducted on 20 healthy adults in their 20s to identity the immediate effects of balance, proprioception and flexibility after conducting the PNF combined patterns using 3D Newton box. The data collected in this study were analyzed using the SPSS Window 19.0 statistical program, and the general characteristics of the subjects were calculated by calculating the mean and standard deviation using the technical statistics, and the differences before and after in-group balance, proprioception and flexibility were analyzed by the paired t-test. The balance, proprioception and flexibility of the subjects were measured using Y-balance, one-leg standing, and finger bottom contact. The exercise was applied with an combined pattern of PNF in the 3D Newton box. After exercise, balance, proprioception and flexibility all increased significantly. The results show that combined pattern of PNF using the 3D Newton box immediately works for the balance, proprioception and flexibility of adults in their 20s. Therefore, it is considered to be an exercise that can be actively utilized for adults or patients at high risk of damage due to reduced balance, proprioception and flexibility.

This study was a quasi-experimental study to test a research question: Is the school library-assisted instruction effective in enhancing students' academic achievement? To solve the research question, 14 hours of school library-assisted instruction and traditional lecture were carried out to 164 9th grade middle school female students(82 of experimental group, 82 of control group). SPSS 12.0 was used for statistical analysis of frequency analysis, $x^2$-test, and t-test. The results showed that there was a statistically significant difference between the pre-test and the post-test in the total academic achievement scores of both experiment group and comparison group. There was a statistically significant difference between the pre-test and the post-test in paper and pencil test scores for comparison group. There were statistically significant differences between the pre-test and the post-test both in paper and pencil test scores and performance assessment for two groups. But there were no statistically significant differences between the experiment group and the comparison group in post-test pre-test gap of total academic achievement, paper and pencil test, and performance assessment scores.
The purpose of this study is to develop and analyze the effects of an educational program that can cultivate artificial intelligence(AI) convergence education competency for future education and enhance students' understanding of pre-service teachers. For this end, an AI convergence education program using Machine Learning for Kids and Scratch 3 was developed for 15 weeks under the theme of classifying the state of matter. The developed program were treated by K University pre-service teachers who participated voluntarily. As a result, pre-service teachers were able to metaphorically understand the learning process of students through understanding of machine learning training process. In addition, the pre-post t-test result of AI teaching efficacy showed a statistically significant improvement with t=-7.137 (p<.000). Therefore, it is suggested that the AI convergence education program developed in this study can help to increase the understanding of the pre-service teacher's students in an indirect way other than practice teaching, and can contribute to foster AI education competency.

Background : The most common cause of treatment failure of pulmonary tuberculosis is early stoppage of treatment or irregular medication. The most important aspect of a retreatment is regular medication provided over a long period. Inadequate treatment may cause drug resistance and prolong the duration of chemotherapy. This study analyzed the risk factors of pulmonary tuberculosis patients, who failed in retreatment, and to use the results as basic data in the management of intractable tuberculosis patients with improving the rate of retreatment success. Methods : We performed a retroactive study of 62 pulmonary tuberculosis patients in retreatment at National Mokpo Tuberculosis Hospital from Jan. 1994 to Dec. 1995. The patients were separated into two groups: group I was retreatment failure and group II was retreatrnent success. For the analysis of risk factors in retreatment failure, we compared the difference between the two groups and tested the confidence limit about results of the results by independent t-test, ${\chi}^2$ test and Fisher's exact test. Results : The treatment failure rate of retreatment patients was 13(21%), and treatment success 49(79%). No significant difference (p>0.05)in age, sex, number of treatment, irregular rate of treatment, extent of the disease & cavitary lesion on the chest X-ray, number of resistance drugs, number of used drugs to medication, number of sensitive bactericidal drugs to medication, rate of sensitive drugs to medication and resisiance to INH & RFP had not significant difference. was found. However, the number of treatment was $2.4{\pm}0.8$ in group I and $1.6{\pm}0.9$ in group II, and had showing a significant difference(p<0.05) between the two groups. Conclusion : The risk factor of retreatment failure was more irregular previous treatment the irregularity of the previous treatment. For reducing the retreatment failure of pulmonary tuberculosis, greater efforts are needed more need to be done to prevent failure of first treatment.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to summarize results from 11 domestic studies about sick role behavior applied health belief model and to assess the effectiveness of components on behavior change by using meta-analysis. Methods: We collected the existing literatures by using major web search of 'pulmonary tuberculosis patients', 'health belief model', and 'sick role behavior' as key words and by reviewing content of journals. Quantitative meta-analysis was performed by SAS program. Results: Among 66 articles, 11 studies were selected for quantitative meta-analysis. The knowledge level about pulmonary tuberculosis had more effect for only sick role behavior as general characterisitcs(d=0.7870). All the components of health belief model produced significant effects on sick role behavior with the magnitude of effect size from 0.31 to 0.73. The largest effects were benefits on actions of sick role behavior. Conclusions: Overall, these investigation provide very substantial empirical evidence supporting health belief model dimensions as important contributors to the explanation and prediction of sick role behavior among the type of health related behavior in pulmonary tuberculosis patients. Strategic intervention including health education, etc. based on health belief model showed clear advantage in improvement of behavioral change.

The purpose of this study was to identify detailed factors that affect visitor satisfactions of the plants on display, environments of pedestrian road and facility of each theme garden by conducting a survey of visitors to Jade Garden. The 400 data including 100 copies per theme garden were used for statistical analysis. The statistical techniques used in the survey analysis include multi-regression analysis, t-test, and analysis of variance(ANOVA). As a result of the analysis, most of theme gardens tended to have the greatest impact on the satisfaction of the plants on display and the lowest level of facility satisfaction. According to detailed factors analysis of the satisfaction of plants on display satisfaction of plant diversity and the method of plant display were most affected in most of the theme gardens. Among them, promoting the satisfaction of plant diversity is necessary to plant various species, but in case of Ginkgo Maze Garden, a type of tree community as one tree(Ginkgo biloba), the satisfaction of plants diversity did not show a rising-up value. Therefore, it was confirmed that the appropriate degree of plants diversity depends on the theme or environment of the garden. In the case of the pedestrian-road-satisfaction, the width of the pedestrian road was the most affected, It was analyzed that whether the point of intersection can be easily available during peak season has a significant impact on the satisfaction of visitors. In the case of facility satisfaction, it was analyzed that the presence of rest and convenience facilities had the most direct influence on visitors, so the facility diversity had the greatest influence. Therefore, it is necessary to more systematically categorize and consider the influential detailed factors such as plants diversity and methods of plant display, width of pedestrian road and facilities diversity for the management and development of the arboretum.

This study was conducted to identify and analyze the educational needs for key vocational competency in nursing students. The participants were 411 nurse students at five universities and the survey was conducted from June 1 to June 31, 2016. The data were analyzed with SPSS WIN 23.0 using descriptive statistics, a paired T-test, Borich's Needs Analysis, as well as the Locus for Focus Model. Based on the results, the subjects recognized the present level of 'professional ethics,' 'self development' and 'interpersonal skills' to be high and those of 'communication skills' and 'skills for understanding groups' to be low. 'Professional ethics,' 'self development,' 'problem solving skills' and 'communication skills' were the most important sub-elements of vocational competency. A significant difference in recognition levels between present and importance ere found in all components of vocational competency. The four priorities were analyzed based on Borich's needs value. In accordance with the Locus for Focus model, 'communication skills,' 'problem solving,' 'resource management skills' and 'self development' were identified as the highest priority sub-factors of vocational competency to nursing students. Based on the result of this study, it is expected to be used as the basic data to develop the nursing student's vocational curriculum and program.
