A scheduling policy or a schedulability test is defined to be sustainable if any task system determined to be schedulable remains so if it behaves "better" than mandated by its system specifications. We provide a formal definition of sustainability, and subject the concept to systematic analysis in the context of the uniprocessor scheduling of periodic and sporadic task systems. We argue that it is, in general, preferable engineering practice to use sustainable tests if possible, and classify common uniprocessor schedulability tests according to whether they are sustainable or not.

A study on workflow system as an automated business processing system is done recently. However, it did not consider various dependencies between parallel tasks. Therefore, this paper proposes modeling and verification of workflows with various parallel dependencies. For this, firstly, we propose four dependencies to specify various parallel dependencies between tasks. They contain sequential starts, parallel starts, sequential commits, and parallel commits. Secondly, we suggest a method to specify various parallel dependencies on workflow graph. Thirdly, we propose a verification method to detect contradictions on workflow specifications.

The containment of the nuclear power plant is the last barrier of radiation release when the reactor coolant pipe rupture is occurred. Each plant has to be tested every 5 years whether the containment leak rate meets its technical specifications. We have developed the leak rate test system and in this paper, we describe the results of the uncertainty analysis on the measurement channels and its propagation to the calculation results.

This paper presents a method to determine the rolloff factors of both the digital terrestrial TV modulator and the bandpass filter (BPF) at the digital TV receiver input, using an analytical power spectral density model satisfying given co-channel and adjacent channel protection ratios for the digital terrestrial broadcasting services. Since the proposed method is very simple and effective to use, also can be used regardless of type of systems or modulation techniques, this method is expected to be applied to select some other digital terrestrial broadcasting system specifications.

In this paper, we present a robust Two Degree of Freedom (TDF) $H_{\infty}$ controllers for a missile system. The feedback controller is designed to meet robust stability and disturbance rejection specifications while the prefilter is used to improve the robust model matching properties of the closed loop system. As the perturbed model, we use the normalized coprim factor perturbations. These controllers are designed using $H_{\infty}$ optimization procedures, and applied to a missile model via simulation.

전세계적으로 2002년 7월에 발효될 SOLAS 2000 규정에 의하면, 국제항해에 종사하는 선박의 경우, 선교(bridge)가 밀폐되어 외부 음향신호를 청취할 수 없을 때는 음향수신장치(SRS)를 설치해야한다. 이 연구에서는 SRS에 법적으로 요구되는 사양을 검토한 후, 부가하여 고려되어야할 사항에 대해서 논의하였다.

This paper presents a design and characteristics analysis of an SRM drive for EPS application. A rack mounted EPS system is considered in this paper. In the unrestricted design conditions, motor parameters are determined for sufficient torque and speed with some restrictions. For the smooth torque generation and simple circuit of power system, 12/8 motor drive is considered. With FEM and magnetic circuit analysis, redesigned motor is simulated to meet the requirement of specifications. Effectiveness of the suggested SRM drive for EPS application is verified by redesigned motor drive tests.

This paper describes how using the XPS Document technologies of Windows Vista support and enhances interactions with the structural design and construction process. It illustrates the document workflows and the document life cycle in a typical construction base knowledge system. It provides engineers and decision makers and implementers with information about this new technology and how they can apply it to their design and construction models. The paper also highlights opportunities for the new format of data exchange in the recent efforts to develop National Management System Standards for Transportation Applications to benefit from these emerging technologies.

Considering that the classified items in the work section level can have an applicability when those items are being used to cost and specification information with consistency, the work section classification code should be applied as an Integrated code system. Our construction industry is using three work section classification systems for civil engineering projects, such as integrated construction information classification system, standard method of measurement and guide of project specification. And each standard construction specification is also using different work section classification systems. This study suggests a methodology to integrate the code systems in construction specifications with civil engineering standard method of measurement. And the methodology suggested in this study was applied to a web-based prototype system with practical specification codes.

Moving picture has become the important media in education with expanded e-learning paradigm, but Korea Educational Metadata has limitation about representing information of lots of events and objects in moving picture. Announcing the MPEG-7 specification the information of lots of events and objects in it can be presented in terms of semantic and structural description of moving pictures. In this paper moving picture searching system model that integrates two metadata specifications, such as KEM and MPEG-7, is proposed. In this model one ontology to combine two metadata specifications is designed, and the other ontology about knowledge of a subject matter is added to search efficiently in searching system. As some moving picture data from Edunet were selected and stored in our server, our prototype of searching system using MPEG-7 and KEM shows the results that we are expected.
