  • In numerical computation, it is desirable to access any row or column, the main diagonal, subarrays, of a matrix without any conflict for successful parallel processing. To meet this requirement special storage scheme is used for conflict-free access of necessary data. Interconnection network, which connects processing elements and processing element memory modules, is required to execute the necessary operations. In this paper we discuss the skewing method for conflict-free, access to various bit slices and single-stage interconnection networks.

  • NUMa 구조는 원격 메모리에 대한 접근이 불가피한 구조적 특성 때문에 상호 연결망이 시스템 성능을 좌우하는 큰 변수가 된다. 기존에 대중적으로 사용되던 버스는 물리적 확장성 및 대역폭에서 대규모 시스템을 구성하는데 한계를 보인다. 이를 대체하는 고속의 지점간 링크를 사용한 이중 링구조는 버스가 가지는 확장성 및 대역폭의 한계라는 단점을 개선하였으나, 많은 노드가 연결되는 경우에는 응답 지연시간이 증가하는 문제점을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 스누핑 프로토콜이 적용된 이중 일 구조에서 노드개수 증가에 따른 응답지연시간 증가의 문제점을 보안하기 위해 코달 링 구조로의변화를 제안하고 이 구조에 효과적인 링크 제어기를 설계한다. 또한 확률 구동 시뮬레이터를통해 본 논문을 통해 제시한 코달 링 구조가 시스템의 성능 및 응답시간에 미치는 영향을 알아본다.

Economic Feasibility on the Interconnected Electric Power Systems in North-East Asia

  • The interstate electric power system, as an alternative for energy cooperation under regional economic block, was fervently debated prior to the restructuring of electric power industries and rapidly expanded in many regions since the 1990s. Especially, electric power system interconnection in the Northeast Asia region may bring considerable economic benefits since this region has strong supplementation in resource holdings, load shape, fuel mix, and etc. In this paper, we implement the ORIRES model, proposed by ESI of Russia, in order to analyze the economic feasibility on the Northeast Asia Region Electrical System Ties (NEAREST) project.

  • Islanding of PV systems occurs when the utility grid is removed but local sources continue to operate and provide power to local loads. Islanding is one of the serious problems in an electric power system connected with dispersed power sources. Also, this can present safety hazards and the possibility of damage to other electric equipments. If the real and reactive power of RLC load and PV system are closely matched, islanding phenomena can't be detected by the passive methods. Several active methods were proposed to detect islanding phenomena. The most effective method is SFS method which was suggested by Sandia National Laboratory. In this paper, a new anti-islanding algorithm is proposed and its validity is verified through simulation and experimental results for utility interconnection of PV system.

On the Minimization of Crosstalk Conflicts in a Destination Based Modified Omega Network

  • In a parallel processing system, Multi-stage Interconnection Networks (MINs) play a vital role in making the network reliable and cost effective. The MIN is an important piece of architecture for a multiprocessor system, and it has a good impact in the field of communication. Optical Multi-stage Interconnection Networks (OMINs) are the advanced version of MINs. The main problem with OMINs is crosstalk. This paper, presents the (1) Destination Based Modified Omega Network (DBMON) and the (2) Destination Based Scheduling Algorithm (DBSA). DBSA does the scheduling for a source and their corresponding destination address for messages transmission and these scheduled addresses are passed through DBMON. Furthermore, the performance of DBMON is compared with the Crosstalk-Free Modified Omega Network (CFMON). CFMON also minimizes the crosstalk in a minimum number of passes. Results show that DBMON is better than CFMON in terms of the average number of passes and execution time. DBSA can transmit all the messages in only two passes from any source to any destination, through DBMON and without crosstalk. This network is the modified form of the original omega network. Crosstalk minimization is the main objective of the proposed algorithm and proposed network.

광 다단계 상호연결망의 단일 누화고장에 대한 해석적 고장진단 기법 (Analytical Diagnosis of Single Crosstalk-Fault in Optical Multistage Interconnection Networks)

  • Optical Multistage Interconnection Networks(OMINs) comprising photonic switches have been studied extensively as important interconnecting building blocks for communication networks and parallel computing systems. A basic element of photonic switching networks is a 2$\times$2 directional coupler with two inputs and two outputs. This paper is concerned with the diagnosis of cross-talk-faults in OMINs. As the size of today's network becomes very large, the conventional diagnosis methods based on tests and simulation have become inefficient, or even more, impractical. In this paper, we propose a simple and easily implementable algorithm for detection and isolation of the single crosstalk-fault in OMINs. Specifically, we develope an algorithm fur the isolation of the source fault in switching elements whenever the single crosstalk-fault is detected in OMINS. The proposed algorithm is illustrated by an example of 16$\times$16 banyan network.

  • This paper presents a scheme for the interconnection of dispersed generator systems(DGs) based on load .unbalance and load model in composite distribution systems. Groups of each individual load model consist of residential, industrial, commercial, official and agricultural load. The unbalance is involved with many single-phase line segment. . Voltage profile improvement and system loss minimization by installation of DGs depend greatly on how they are placed and operated in the distribution systems. So, DGs can reduce distribution real power losses and replace large-scale generators if they are placed appropriately in the distribution systems. The main idea of solving fuzzy goal programming is to transform the original objective function and constraints into the equivalent multi-objectives functions with fuzzy sets to evaluate their imprecise nature for the criterion of power loss minimization, the number or total capacity of DGs and the bus voltage deviation, and then solve the problem using genetic algorithm. The method proposed is applied to IEEE 13 bus and 34 bus test systems to demonstrate its effectiveness.

Si 태양전지 금속배선 공정을 위한 나노 Ag 잉크젯 프린터 제작 및 응용 (Manufacturing of Ag Nano-particle Ink-jet Printer and the Application into Metal Interconnection Process of Si Solar Cells)

  • We manufactured the inkjet printing system for the application into the nano Ag finger line interconnection process in Si solar cells. The home-made inkjet printer consists of motion part for XY motion stage with optical table, head part, power and control part in the rack box with pump, and ink supply part for the connection of pump-tube-sub ink tanknozzle. The ink jet printing system has been used to conduct the interconnection process of finger lines on Si solar cell. The nano ink includes the 50 nm-diameter. Ag nano particles and the viscosity is 14.4 cP at $22^{\circ}C$. After processing of inkjet printing on the finger lines of Si solar cell, the nano particles were measured by scanning electron microscope. After the heat treatment at $850^{\circ}C$, the finger lines showed the smooth surface morphology without micropores.

리피터 노드를 이용한 Scalable CC-NUMA 시스템 (Scalable CC-NUMA System using Repeater Node)

  • CC-NUMA구조에서는 원격 메모리에 대한 접근이 불가피한 구조적인 특성 때문에 상호 연결망이 성능을 좌우하는 큰 변수로 작용한다. 기존에 사용되는 버스는 대역폭의 한계와 물리적 확장성 때문에 대규모의 시스템에는 적합하지 않다. 이를 대체하는 고속의 지점간 링크를 도입한 이중 링 구조는 이러한 버스의 한계를 극복하고는 있지만 많은 노드를 거쳐야 하는 문제로 인해 응답 지연 시간이 증가하는 단점을 안고 있다. 본 논문에서는 요청과 응답 패킷의 지연 시간을 줄이는 방안으로 리피터 노드를 이용한 다중 링을 제안한다. 제안된 시스템은 링과 링 사이의 구조가 대칭형을 이루고 있어 요청을 내보내는 링을 제외한 다른 링의 hop수는 똑같은 수치를 갖고 있으며, 이중 링에 비해 최대의 hop수와 최소의 hop수의 차가 적고 평균 hop수 또한 적어 좋은 성능을 보인다. 본 논문에서는 또한 이러한 구조를 유지하기 위한 리피터 노드의 구조를 제안하며 리피터 노드의 구조와 노드의 확장에 따른 다양한 성능을 확률 구동 시뮬레이터를 사용하여 평가를 수행한다.
