Robust Controller Design for Flexible Robot Arm Manipulator (유연한 로봇팔의 선단 위치 제어를 위한 강인한 제어기의 설계)

  • The objective of this paper is to design a robust controller for a flexible robot arm manipulator using LMI(Linear Matrix Inequality) theory, and confirm its effectiveness through experimentation. We first describe a modeling Process of the flexible arm in order to get a mathematical model, and then discuss how to approximately obtain the uncertainty of the model for robust control. As to the control system design, we adopt the LMI-based H$_{\infty}$ synthesis algorithm which has the merits of eliminating the regularity restrictions attached to the Riccati-based methods. As a result of this, we can cope with the parameter variation (that is, modeling uncertainty) due to the tip-load variation. Finally we confirm the effectiveness of the controller through experiment and simulation.

  • Spectral modeling synthesis (SMS) has been used as a powerful tool for musical sound modeling. This technique considers a sound as a combination of a deterministic plus a stochastic component. The deterministic component is represented by the series of sinusoids that are described by amplitude, frequency, and phase functions and the stochastic component is represented by a series of magnitude spectrum envelopes that functions as a time varying filter excited by white noise. These representations make it possible for a synthesized sound to attain all the perceptual characteristics of the original sound. However, sometimes considerable phase variations occur in the deterministic component by using the conventional SMS for the complex sound such as whale sounds when the partial frequencies in successive frames differ. This is because it utilizes the calculated phase to synthesize deterministic component of the sound. As a result, it does not provide a good spectrum matching between original and synthesized spectrum in higher frequency region. To overcome this problem, we propose a modified SMS that provides good spectrum matching of original and synthesized sound by calculating complex residual spectrum in frequency domain and utilizing original phase information to synthesize the deterministic component of the sound. Analysis and simulation results for synthesizing whale sounds suggest that the proposed method is comparable to the conventional SMS in both time and frequency domain. However, the proposed method outperforms the SMS in better spectrum matching.

Synthesis of Microspheric Silicone Polymer Beads by UV Irradiation and Alkoxy Hydrolysis (UV 조사와 Alkoxy 가수분해 법을 이용한 구형 실리콘 마이크로 고분자 비드의 합성)

  • In this study, the microsphere silicone polymer beads were synthesized by UV irradiation and alkoxy hydrolysis. The coefficient of variation (CV) of microsphere silicone polymer beads were decreased with increasing UV intensity, reaction time. The mean particle diameter, refractive index, and pH value were $4.1{\mu}m$, 1.43 and 7.5, respectively. Also, the true and bulk specific gravity, moisture content were 1.30, and 0.40, below 2%. The mean particle diameter and CV were the lowest at 0.1 wt% hexamethyldisilazane (HMDS) and their roundnesses were $0.95{\sim}0.98{\mu}m$ values. The particle dispersion index of microsphere silicone polymer beads was 4.92 at 450 W, 90 min and the yield was increased to 11.3% at 20 wt% methyltrimethoxysilane (MTMS). The mean particle diameter was decreased with increasing the stirring rate and reaction temperature.

  • Stone cultural properties, exposed in natural environment, is deteriorated by many weathering reasons for a long time. It is necessary to treat of consolidation and water-repellent on the surface because of the conservation of stone cultural properties. We was treated the specimen [granite(Hwangdung-suk), sandstone, marble(in JeongSeon)] by synthesis resin of DWR-Ⅲ, SI2121 and fluoropolymer, and tested on the durability, water-repellent, color stability and luster generation etc. In the result of this study, DWR-Ⅲ and fluoropolymer is superior to the waterrepellent, durability of salt and acid rain. SI2121 is superior to the penetration because of lower viscosity, but the water-repellent is inferior to the others. After the treatment of chemicals, the color-variation make an appearance but luster-generation doesn’t. With the passage of time, the color of specimen was got better because of the ‘washing’ phenomenon for ultra-violet, salt etc.

  • A novel poly(phenylene ethynylene) derivative containing cyano group as electron-transporting moiety was synthesized via Pd-catalyzed coupling reaction. The structures of the monomers and polymer were confirmed by spectroscopy. The polymer demonstrated a wide variation of solubility, optical absorption, electrical conductivity and electrochemical properties.

  • The vocal folds play an important role to produce glottal pulse which is an essential factor of phonation. There have been some models which implement the vocal folds' dynamics, such as one-mass model, two-mass model, multi-mass model and ribbon model. Among them, this paper uses nonlinear two-mass model, which is simple structure and produces similarly real glottal pulses and vocal folds' vibration, to realize vocal folds digital model. The pattern of movements in vocal folds will be shown in this paper by using vocal folds digital model. It will be verified how initial position of vocal folds. variation of tension and change of lung pressure influences vibration and glottal pulses.

  • A new simple technique for 2-terminal negative resistance cireait analysis and synthesis is developed, by using the equivalent e.m.f. defined as a function of input lotage or current variation. The technique is applied to design 2-terminal junction transistor negative resistance circuits based on the parameter control method. Modeling circuits for SCR, GTO-SCR and SSS are also derived from the proposed transistor negative resistance circuits, and the merits of the modeling circuits are discussed.

  • Physiological changes of Escherichia coli during the fed-batch fermentation process were characterized in this study. Overall cellular protein samples prepared at the different stage of fermentation were separated by 2-dimensional gel electrophoresis (2-DE), and differently expressed 15 proteins, Phosphotransferase enzyme I, GroEL, Trigger factor, ${\beta}$ subunit of ATP synthase, Transcriptional regulator KDGR, Phosphoglycerate mutase 1, Inorganic pyrophosphatase, Serine Hydroxymethyl-transferase, ${\alpha}$ subunit of RNA polymerase, Elongation factor Tu, Elongation factor Ts, Tyrosine-tRNA ligase, DnaK suppressor protein, Transcriptional elongation factor, 30S ribosomal protein S6 were identified using matrix-assisted laser desorption / ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS). When bacterial cells grow to high cell density, and IPTG-inducible heterologous protein is produced, expression level of overall cellular proteins was decreased. According to their functions in the cell, identified proteins were classified into three groups, proteins involved in transport process, small-molecule metabolism, and synthesis and modification of macromolecules.

  • These powder properties were investigated and prepared of ultrafine Mn-Zn ferrite powder by Direct-wet process from variation of oxidation condition. H2O2 oxidation the products were ultrafine spherical particles of about 400${\AA}$ in diameter and superparamagnetics. H2O2 and Air oxidation, Coexistance ultrafine spherical particles of about 400${\AA}$ and cubic particles of about 1000${\AA}$. The products were constructed of superparamagnetic and ferromagnetic particles, and Magnetization were about 30 emu/g. Air Oxidation, Above 6 hr Air 120 ι/hr and 4 hr of Air 180 ι/hr were uniform cubic particles of above 1000${\AA}$. The products were ferromagnetic particles and Magnetization of above 45 emu/g.

  • In order to analyse the properties of the fiber-adhesive that was used as Flocking process we synthesized quaterpolymer with the variation of the types of monomer ratio by emulsion polymerization. We characterized the properties of this adhesive: Differential Scanning Calorimeter(DSC), Thermogravimetry Analysis(TGA), Raman spectroscopy. The polymer was synthesized by changing the using amount of 2-EHAM, and then we investigated the characteristics of glass transition temperature(Tg), melting temperature(Tm), thermal stability and hydroxyl group respectively. The optimum monomer composition was 36.84% EAM, 15.79% MAM, 42.1% 2-EHAM and 5.26% AAc.
