  • This paper presents the control method that inverter output keeps to linear to reference voltage of Synchronous Reluctance Motor using DC Link voltage Synthesis. The Inverter output voltage cannot be displayed to linear about inverter reference voltage if Real DC Link voltage is different from DC Link voltage of PWM amplitude. Also, the overmodulation that there is linearity broken if reference voltage is out of range that inverter can output voltage. Torque ripple generates the vibration and noise of a motor. This paper proposes the control method so that torque ripple decreases and the linearity of inverter output keeps using the DC Link voltage Synthesis.

  • This paper deals with an automatic optimum design based on capacity for a synchronous reluctance motor (SynRM). The focus of this paper is the design relative to the output power on the basis of rotor shape of a SynRM in each capacity. And optimization algorithm is used by means of sequential unconstrained minimization technique(SUMT). The coupled Finite Elements Analysis (FEA) & Preisach model have been used to evaluate nonlinear solutions. The proposed procedure allows to define the rotor geometric dimensions according to capacity starting from an existing motor or a preliminary design.

The focus of this paper is the design relative to the torque/volume on the basis of each rated watt according to the rotor diameters of a SynRM. The coupled finite elements analysis (FEA) & sequential unconstrained minimization technique (SUMT) have been used to evaluate design solutions. The proposed procedure allows to define the rotor geometric design function according to the rotor diameter and rated watt starting from an existing motor or a preliminary design.

  • Synchronous Reluctance Motor (SynRM) has a simple structure with high efficient and without rotor conductor loss. Therefore, it is better than induction motor for electric vehicle (EV) on aspect of efficiency. SynRM usually operates on the constant torque region using maximum torque per ampere (MTPA)control which is adopted due to rotor structure limitation. Thus, the accurate current angle is crucial for motor control. However, finite element analysis (FEA) program is not sufficient exactly to regard how the iron loss and magnetic saturation influences on the current angle. Consequently, this paper proposed a method to calculate the current angle with consideration of iron loss.

The focus of this paper is mating the design relative to the output rover on the basis of rotor shape of a SynRM in each rated watt using a coupled FEM & sequential unconstrained minimization technique (SUMT). The coupled finite elements analysis (FEA) & Preisach model have been used to evaluate nonlinear solutions. The proposed procedure allows to define the rotor geometric dimensions according to the rotor diameter and rated watt starting from an existing motor or a preliminary design.

  • It is demonstrated that the torque performance of the flux barrier type synchronous reluctance motor(SynRM) can be improved in terms of geometric parameters. Torque ana power factor are related to the difference of inductances and the saliency ratio. And these inductance characteristics are determined by the geometric parameters of rotor: the number of layers. the width of iron to the width of flux barrier($K_w$). slot number and shape, airgap, bridge, etc. The relationship between geometric parameters. especially, $K_w$ and motor performance will be studied. This paper shows that torque and power factor are improved through redesign with considering geometric parameters. Performance comparisons of proto type SynRM and improved SynRM are given by FEA(Finite Element Analysis).

  • The rib in synchronous reluctance motor(SynRM), which has segment type rotor, is mechanical weak Point. To make up for the weak point, a web has inserted in the flux barrier. However, the inductance in the q-axis is increased and then the motor performance has been decreased because of the inserted web. This paper presents a model, which has permanent magnets on the both side of the web, to decrease the inductance in the q-axis. The finite element method is applied to analyze the characteristics.
