  • This paper is proposed an efficiency optimization operation algorithm for synchronous reluctance motor (SynRM) using current phase angle control technique. The SynRM has to controlled with the optimal current phase angles with load and operation speed variation, to obtain high efficiency over the wide speed ranges. An efficiency optimization condition in SynRM which minimizes the copper and iron losses is derived based on the equivalent circuit model of the machine. The objective of the efficiency optimization control algorithm compensating the optimum current angle, is to seek a combination of d and q-axis current components which provides minimum losses at a certain operating point in steady state. The usefulness of the proposed efficiency optimization control is verified through vector-controlled inverter system with the SynRM.

  • This paper deals with optimum design criteria to minimize torque ripple of concentrated winding Synchronous Reluctance Motor (SynRM) using Response Surface Methodology (RSM). The feasibility of using RSM with the finite element method(FEM) in practical engineering problem is investigated with computational examples and comparison between the fitted response and the results obtained from an analytical solution according to the design variables of stator and rotor in concentrated winding SynRM (6slot).

  • Interior permanent magnet synchronous motor(IPMSM) has higher power density than other PM(permanent Magnet) machines due to reluctance torque in addition to magnetic torque, and the ratio of magnetic and reluctance torque has influences on motor characteristics such as input current, efficiency, power factor, etc. Therefore, this paper presents the output characteristics of IPMSM according to the ratio magnetic and reluctance torque of IPMSM and discuss the design strategy of IPMSM.

  • 우리나라 기술측면에서 전기자동차용 전동기를 생각하면 생산기술과 생산설비 등이 갖추어져 있는 유동전동기가 가장 개발하기 쉬울것으로 생각되고 가격면에서도 가장 유리할 것으로 생각된다. 그러나 Bushless전동기의 연구개발은 타 산업에의 파급효과가 클 것으로 예상되고 성능면에서 차후 크게 발전될 것으로 예상되기 때문에 한시도 소홀히 할 수 없는 분야이며 그 외에 switched reluctance motor, PM disk type synchronous motor등의 연구도 함께하여야 할 것이다.

  • In this paper, the characteristics of IPMSM(Interior-type Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) are simulated using 2-D. finite element method. This paper deals with the following characteristics : air gap flux density considering skew, back e.m.f., torque and inductance. Back e.m.f. is calculated using the flux obtained from the vector potential of FEM solution. Torque is calculated using improved Maxwell stress tensor method and current angle which is obtained from the controller. Direct axis inductance and quadrature axis inductance are also calculated using energy perturbation method. Computed results are found in satisfactory agreement with experimental ones. This method also can be applied for the computation and analysis of the characteristics of SPMSM, current-excited synchronous motor and reluctance motor.

  • 본 논문은 직접토크제어(Direct torque control, DTC)를 사용한 릴럭턴스 동기전동기(Reluctance synchronous motor, RSM)의 위치센서 없는 모션제어 시스템을 제안한다. 고성능 효율제어를 수행하는데 있어서 DTC를 이용한 릴럭턴스 전동기 드라이브는 고정자 쇄교자속의 포화와 부하전류에 따라 비선형적으로 변하는 인덕턴스로 인해 여러 가지 문제점들이 발생한다. 이러한 이유로 본 논문에서는 정확한 고정자 쇄교자속과 토크를 계산하기 위해서 자속관측기의 $L_d\;와\; L_q$값을 회전자 위치와 고정자 전류에 대해 보상하였으며, 빠른 토크 응답특성과 최적 효율특성을 얻기 위해서 기준자속을 부하에 따라 계산하였다. 제안된 알고리즘의 정당성을 확인하기 위해서 1.0[kW] 릴럭턴스 동기 전동기를 사용하여 $\pm$20[rpm]과 $\pm$1500[rpm]에서 실험을 수행하였고, 실험을 수행한 결과 저속영역과 고속영역 모두 우수한 동특성과 향상된 효율을 얻을 수 있었다.

IPMSM의 쇄교자속 계산을 통한 릴럭턴스 토크 산정 (The Reluctance Torque Estimate by Linkage Flux Calculation of IPMSM)

  • Classically, reluctance torque of IPMSM(Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) by using inductance according to current phase angle generates an error. This error is affected by total torque. From current phase angle $0^{\circ}$ to large errors will occur, because reluctance torque include current phase angle. But, reluctance torque from steady-state voltage equation of IPMSM is represented by linkage flux. So, reluctance torque is unrelated to the current phase angle formula can be derived. In this paper, operating torque was analyzed by d, q-axis linkage flux of IPMSM and reluctance torque to perform calculations reduced the error of the total torque calculation.

  • Motor & generator operation at widely variable speeds is needed in various applications but hybrid and electric vehicle (HEV) stand out today, as quite a few companies are launching this year their mass production of HEVs. The quest for better starter-generators is far from ended, though. The present review paper unfolds a comparative critical evaluation of various starter-generators and their control for HEV. Induction, interior PM synchronous, transverse-flux PM synchronous, switched reluctance, together with claw-pole and biaxial excitation PM synchronous (BEGA) configurations with their control are all considered in system evaluations.

  • The control of stator flux, torque angle, excitation torque, reluctance torque and total torque of the direct torque control (DTC) for a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) are studied in this paper. Simplified expressions to represent the changes of these variables due to the application of a voltage vector are given. Finally, a voltage vector selection area and the implementation of a voltage vector selection strategy are proposed.
