스월 인젝터를 통한 고온 연료의 분사특성 연구 (A Study on High-Temperature Fuel Injection Characteristics through Swirl Injectors)

  • 본 연구에서는 고온으로 가열된 연료가 다양한 종류의 스월 인젝터를 통해 분사되는 경우 분사 특성의 변화를 실험적으로 확인하였다. 3종의 스월 인젝터로 3 ~ 10 bar의 분사압력을 가하면서 연료온도가 $50{\sim}270^{\circ}C$ 범위에서 변화하는 경우 인젝터의 유량계수(${\alpha}$)를 계측하였다. cavitation number ($K_c$)에 대한 ${\alpha}$ 변화 특성을 확인한 결과 ${\alpha}$ 변동 특성이 오리피스 직경과 스월러 형상에 모두 영향을 받았고, 비등에 의한 연료분사 특성을 스월러 유로와 오리피스 유로 면적비인 AR과 관련지어 살펴 본 결과에서는 AR이 커질수록 비등 영향은 더 지연되고 비등의 영향이 미치기 시작하면 ${\alpha}$ 감소 기울기는 더 큰 것으로 확인되었다.

  • Development of a small gas-turbine combustor for 100kW class APU(Auxiliary Power Unit) has been performed. This combustor is a reverse-annular type and has a tangential swirler in the liner head to improve the fuel/air mixing and flame stability. Three main and three pilot fuel injectors of the simplex pressure-swirl type are used. The performance target at the design condition includes a turbine inlet temperature of 1170K, a combustion efficiency of 99%, a pattern factor of 30%, and an engine durability of 3000 hours. Under developing the combustor, we conducted performance test of our first prototype(TS1) with some variants. As a result of the test, the performance targets of the combustor are satisfied except that the pattern factor is about 4% higher than target value. So, we redesigned the second prototype(TS2) and conduct performance test with the critical focus on pattern factor and exit mean temperature. We adopted TS2 four variant to check the improvement of pattern factor. As the result, the pattern factors of several variants were satisfied with the performance target. Finally, We chose the TS2A variant as a final combustor for our APU model.

직접분사식 가솔린 선회분사기 개발에 관한 연구 (Development of Gasoline Direct Swirl Injector)

  • The Gasoline Direct Injection(GDI) system has been highlighted due to the improvement of fuel consumption and the control of exhaust emission from gasoline engines. The GDI system includes a high injection pressure, smaller mean diameter, good spray characteristics and stability. We were interested in the development for gasoline direct swirl injector(GDSI) in which the swirler is specially designed with an incident angle. Nymerical analysis was utilized to investigate the internal flow of GDSI with a goal to determine the swirl incident angle and needle lift. Accordingly, it describes characteristics of a GDSI in which the flowrate and spray characteristics are satisfied. especially the spray tip penetration decreases, compared with other type GDI, mean diameter of droplets is from 20${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ to 25${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ and spray angle ranges from 64$^{\circ}$to 66$^{\circ}$.

선회도에 따른 평면 화염 버너의 유동특성 (The Effect of Swirl Number on the Flow Characteristics of Flat Flame Burner)

  • Burner of Flat Flame type expects the uniform flame distribution and NOx reduction. The characteristics of Flat Flame Burner become different according to swirl number in the burner throat. Experiments were focused on swirl effect by four types of swirler with different swirl numbers (0, 0.26, 0.6 and 1.24). It shows many different flow patterns according to swirl number using PIV(Particle Image Velocimetry) method. The flow of burner with swirler is recirculated by pressure difference between its center and outside. Recirculated air makes stable in flame, and reduced pollutant gas. In case of swirl number 0, main flow passes through axial direction. As swirl number increased, The backward flow develops in the center part of burner and Flow gas recirculates. This is caused by radial flow momentum becomes larger than axial flow by swirled air and the pressure at center drops against surrounding. As swirl number increases, the radial and axial velocity was confirmed to be larger than low swirl numbers. And turbulence intensity have similar pattern. The CTRZ(Central Toroidal Recirculation Zone) is shown evidently when y/D=1 and S=1.24. The boundary-layer between main flow and recirculated flow is shown that the width is seen to be decreased as swirl number increased.

바닥의 위치가 Vortex Vent의 배기성능에 미치는 영향 (Effect of the Floor on the Ventilation Performance of the Vortex Vent)

  • The vortex ventilation system (VV) which uses a rotating finned swirler installed coaxially with the exhaust duct is a very effective local ventilator. VV can enhance the capture depth by a factor of 3-5 compared to the conventional exhaust hood, in the absence of any solid walls nearby. In real situations there may exist ceiling, side wall and floor, all of which can affect the flow field and suction performance by way of the no-slip condition on the walls. 3D CFD simulation was performed in order to see the effect of the floor on the capture performance of the VV. The presence of floor reduced suction flow velocity, and increased the critical rotational speed which is the rotational speed required for stable vortex formation. Flow velocity profile along the axis could be well approximated by a universal functional form when the distance from the exhaust inlet is non-dimensionalized by the distance to the floor. Capture depth, define by the distance from the exhaust inlet to a point of velocity decreased to 10% of that at the inlet, is reduced by about 10% when the floor distance is 6 times the exhaust hood diameter.

직접분사식 가솔린엔진용 고압 스월분무의 액막두께 측정 및 해석 (Measurement and Analysis of Liquid Film Thickness of Pressure-Swirl Spray for Direct-Injection Gasoline-Engines)

  • The liquid film thickness inside a pressure-swirl nozzle was measured, and then the measured liquid film thickness was compared with the results from previous empirical equations. The liquid film inside the nozzle was visualized using extended transparent nozzles and a microscopic imaging system, and then the measurement error was evaluated using optical geometry analysis. The high injection pressures up to 7MPa were adopted to simulate the injection conditions of the direct-injection spark-ignition engines. The totally different two injectors with different fuels, nozzle lengths, nozzle diameters and swirlers were utilized to obtain the comprehensive equations. The results showed that the liquid film thickness very slightly decreased at high injection pressures and the empirical equations overestimated the effect of injection pressure. Most of empirical equations did not include the effect of nozzle length and swirler angle, although it caused significant change in liquid film thickness. A new empirical equation was suggested based on the experimental results with the effects of fuel properties, injection pressure, nozzle diameter, nozzle length and swirler angle.

난류발생기가 장착된 선회기를 이용한 연소기내의 혼합 및 연소 특성 (The Characteristics of Mixing and Combustion in the Combustor with Turbulence Generator)

  • 본 연구에서는 화염의 안정화를 위하여 사용되는 선회류 발생 장치의 베인에 작은 스케일의 난류를 발생시킬 수 있는 난류 발생기를 장착하여 연료와 흡입공기의 혼합을 촉진시키고, 연소와 온도의 균일도를 향상시키기 의한 실험적 검토를 행하였다. 실험에서는 내부 혼합용 이유체 분사노즐 사용하여 등유를 분사시킨 후 연료와 흡입공기의 혼합과 연소 현상을 관측하였다. 난류발생기는 베인 각도에 따른 베인과 베인 사이의 각 단면의 면적을 계산하여 그 유로단면의 면적에 대한 비율로서 난류발생기의 면적을 결정하여 선회기를 통과하는 유로 단면적의 각각 0%, 3%, 7%, 12%에 해당하는 면적의 난류 발생기를 제작하여 선회기 출구 베인의 끝단에 설치하였다. 실용 연소기의 구조를 어느 정도 단순화한 환형 연소기에서의 농도분포, 화염구조 및 온도분포를 조사하여 효과적인 연소기내의 연소제어에 사용하고자 한다.

선회류 예혼합버너를 적용한 개질기용 연소시스템의 배기 및 연소특성 (Exhaust and Combustion Characteristics of Premixed Swirl Burner for Steam Reforming System)

  • The reformer system is a method for hydrogen production from hydrocarbon fuels such as natural gas under high temperature environment($about{\sim}1,000^{\circ}C$). The premixed swirl burner with mixing swirler and combustion swirler designed to deliver fuel cell electric output from 0.5 kW to 1.5 kW. Premixed swirl burner experiments using natural gas and mixture of natural gas and anode off gas were carried out to analyse flame patterns and stability by equivalence ratio respectively. The results show that the stable swirl flame can be established for all cases of fuels type using the premixed swirl burner. The swirl flame had a wide stability region and it showed very low CO(50 ppm) and $NO_x$(20 ppm) emission at different fuel type and various equivalence ratio conditions. The operating range of premixed swirl burner for stable swirl flame is found to exist between equivalence ratio of 0.70 to 0.90 for turn down ratio of 3:1.

  • Duplex Type의 2-유체 공기충돌형 Swirl 인젝터의 분무특성을 파악하고자 유체공급압력 0~13kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ 범위에서 유량계수, 등가 분산각, 질량분포를 실험적으로 구하였다. 일반적으로 기체의 총 유량이 증가할수록 미립화는 촉진되나 반경방향 유량이 많은 경우에 분무형상은 비교적 안정적이었으며, 축방향 보다는 반경방향 선회기가 미립화에 미치는 영향이 컸다. 3kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$을 제외하고는 물 유량이 증가함에 따른 등가 분산각의 변화는 미소하였고, 기체의 유량증가도 마찬가지였다. Patternator를 사용한 질량 분포는 반경방향 기체유량이 증가함에 따라 분포곡선의 최대점은 낮아지면서 더 넓은 영역에 걸쳐 분포하였고, 물 유량의 증가에 따른 질량중심점의 위치는 변화가 없었다.

  • 초음속 순항 엔진 연소기에 적용하기에 유리한 스크류형 선회기를 장착한 인젝터의 성능을 이론적, 수치적, 실험적 방법을 통해 밝혀 내었다. 인젝터의 성능은 유출계수와 분무각을 중심으로 살펴보았으며, 이에 영향을 미치는 형상 파라미터를 정의하고 기준 인젝터를 설계하여 형상계수에 따른 성능의 변화를 살펴보았다. 정의된 범위에서 인젝터의 성능은 이론적 예측에 의한 값보다 작은 값으로 나타났으며, VOF 방법을 사용한 수치해석에 의해 성능이 매우 잘 예측되는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 점성장벽에 해당하는 특성은 나타나지 않았으며, 최소 0.05의 유출계수와 최대 104의 분무각을 얻을 수 있었다.
