  • Recently, usage of swearing words on web board is the most typical Internet negative-functions. For this, technical method is proposed for blocking swearing words or sentences by analyzing swearing words usage types and behaviors. This system consists of 3 steps. Firstly, a survey, analysis of swearing words on web board and algorithm proposal for blocking these words must be studied. Secondly, sufficient and concrete opinion researches about every generations for measuring swearing degree must be accomplished. Finally, implementation on web board by programming will be done. This paper, in the first, deals with usage analysis of swearing and algorithm developement for solving these problems.

  • Examining swear words found in Korean and English, we aim to answer the following two questions: (i) 'What words develop into swear words?' and (ii) 'Why they do?' The utility of a swear word is frequently recognized as intimidation directed towards an opponent, emotional catharsis, and solidarity building among in-group members (Jay 1992, 2000, Kim 1997). We seek to go beyond this simple enumeration of possible functions of swearing and suggest an underlying mechanism at work to explain how these functions are achieved and why only certain types of words are employed in this pursuit. A close examination reveals that a swear word must contain either taboo or sadism as an essential component. Sexual pleasure adds another dimension to the basic components. Thus, if an expression contains a subset of the component set {taboo, sadism, sex} in its semantics, it becomes available for swearing (one of the underlined components must be included in the set). For example, many religiously sacred expressions and words for excretion are common swear words as they violate social and religious taboo. On the other hand, words referring to social minorities are a convenient target for sadism. Furthermore, words describing sexual activity contain all three components, violating social taboo, evoking sadism, and giving the initiator guilty sexual pleasure. A combination of the components can produce an emotional effect called catharsis for the initiator. When directed towards others, these components, especially taboo and sadism, can be exploited as a verbal attack, an intimidation, preceding or replacing a physical attack. However, solidarity building is analyzed as a secondary function of swearing, achieved by sharing a sense of accomplice when in-group members behave badly together, such as violating social taboo and committing sadism.

  • This study investigates the rising issue of verbal violence at non-facing channels. Focus Group Interview(FGI) was conducted to examine verbal violence occurred during emotional labors in real-life cases. In addition, the distribution of verbal violence in the conversation was confirmed through a new big data technology called Speech Analysis(SA). The result findings highlighted the two perspectives as below. First, verbal violence occurred through calls, is classified into personal insult, swearing/verbal abuse, unreasonable demand, (sexual) harassment and intimidation/threat. Second, Speech Analysis result exhibited the most frequently appeared verbal violence were personal insult and swearing/verbal abuse. Informal language use and speaking in disrespectable manner was the highest rate in personal insult category. Moreover general cursing was the highest rate in swearing/verbal abuse category. In particular, the rate of using curse language was the highest in overall cases of verbal violence. This study summarizes the types of verbal violence that occur in non-facing channels and suggests a need for further investigation on how verbal stress affects working environment for emotional labor.

  • We have prepared the plasma-polymerized membrane for pervaporation of organic-liquid mixtures by the plasma polymerization technique. Plasma polymerization techniques were utilized in the development of hydrophilic composite membranes having high hydrogen ion permeability and excellent dimensional stability. To develop an organic liquid permselective Membrane, suppressing membrane swearing as well as enhancing the solubility difference is impotant. the objectives of the present study are to disign a suitable membrane for an organic-mixture system by the control of the plasma-polymer solubility.

  • The existing swearing remover programs could not have blocked even slightly transformed swearings because of their input blocking properties. To overcome these defects, this paper implemented a supervising program which analysize and remove/replace swearings on web board. For this purpose this paper first classified the patterns of swearings on web board and then implemented a tokenizer which can analysize those patterns. The module tokenizing and removing/replacing swearings on each web board was implemented as a thread so that it could be parallely controlled. As a result of running this Program on some web boards , we found out it had detected almost of the swearings as 91.9% of recall but it could not meet our purpose sufficiently on morphological transformed swearings and swearings in context. So the studies will be continued about processing on morphological ambiguous words, ambiguous words in meaning and sweaings in context by extracting this program's manual mode. We expect this program could induce the users to proper usage of words and replace the manual works of web board managers in schools, public bodies, broadcasting stations etc.

  • This study aims to investigate the female caregivers'experiences of aggression by nursing home residents, and to identify the policy strategies for violence prevention referred by the female caregivers. A total of 121 female caregivers with more than 6 months of working experiences had participated in this study. Of these, 56.2% had experienced verbal aggression, 51.2% physical aggression, and 27.3% sexual aggression, which reveals that client violence toward caregivers in nursing homes was at an alarming level. Although, physical and verbal violences were mostly caused unintentionally, about a half of the sexual aggression were caused deliberately. Aggression occurred the most when caregivers were providing the following services: changing the diapers or clothes, giving a bath, and serving meals. It was found that 'hitting' was the most common form of physical aggression and it was 'swearing' and 'touching or physical contacting' in the case of verbal and sexual aggression, respectively. Though there was a difference depending on the type of aggression, the most frequent reactions against client violence were to start a conversation or calm down the nursing home residents, and to leave the scene or ignore the incident. This means that the caregivers are coping very passively through resolving the aggressions by themselves, or overlooking the situation. The most frequently recommended strategy to prevent resident aggression was to provide educational programs on violence prevention to nursing home residents and caregivers(42.7%). Compared to the previous studies, this study indicates some differentiated strategies to prevent violence in nursing homes, which include hiring male caregivers, assuring directors to pay closer attention toward caregivers, using refined language between caregivers and residents, and keeping caregivers to wear appropriate clothes. Based on the study results, some policy recommendations on the prevention of client violence in nursing homes were suggested.
