Purpose - The purpose of this study was to establish self sustainable win-win growth model for Korea franchise corporate sustainability and to suggest theoretical and practical implications for franchise management. Research design, data, and methodology - This study is based on literature review methodology. Result - The study suggested the ways of self sustainable win-win growth model for Korea franchise corporate sustainability. First, franchiors should strengthen requisite & specify in the contract, share information & strengthen transparency, and establish win-win management support system for control & autonomy balance. Second, franchises should develop CEO management competency & employee work competency, and establish recognition for Intellectual Property Rights Use. Third, franchisors and franchises should implement contract sincerely, strengthen Organizational Citizenship Behavior, and solve moral laxity. Forth, franchisors and franchises should establish trust and value with communication to make Creating Social Value. Fifth, franchisors and franchises should realize self sustainable social value for corporation and social community. To make this, franchsors and franchise should establish self sustainable win-win growth ecosystem with people, system, culture, innovation. Conclusions - First, Franchisors and franchises should distribute 'Self sustainable win-win growth 2025 for Korea franchise corporate sustainability' and 'Self sustainable win-win growth model for Korea franchise corporate sustainability'. Second, Franchisors and franchises should change their perspective about franchise industry. Third, Franchisors and franchises should develop various training and development plans for franchise industry. Fourth, Franchisors and franchises should establish franchise performance certificate system.

This study analyzed content on sustainable development in the middle school science curriculum of 2007-Revised. Analyses criteria were developed based on literature reviews. The analyses showed that among 25 units, nine of them dealt with the topics and issues on sustainable development. However, the content had too much partiality for biology and earth science, lacking integration with other areas of science. Results of this study suggest the need for developing systemized teaching material on sustainable development that can be incorporated in the science curriculum by pursuing the following tasks: First, the educational goal of sustainable development and its need should be mentioned in the science curriculum. Second, the class content, themes, objectives, teaching-earning programs on sustainable development should be formulated. Third, within the science curriculum, the content should deal with topics beyond natural or environmental issues, to issues such as economical and socio-political so as to bring better understanding of the concepts related to sustainable development.
Considering the importance of institutional foodservice in modern dietary life and its influence on the environment, sustainable development in institutional foodservice industry carries great significance. The current study was conducted to investigate dietitians' perceptions of sustainable business-and-industry foodservice and their intentions to perform sustainable practices by applying a mixed methodology. For the quantitative study, an online survey was conducted on 362 dietitians who had worked at a contact foodservice company for more than 1 year. The survey was performed from December 15th, 2011 to January 30th, 2012, and 202 responses were used for the analysis. For the qualitative a study, a focus group interview was conducted during May, 2012 with representative employees of the company. According to the results, dietitians seemed to be unfamiliar with the terms "sustainability" or "sustainable development," whereas they understood related contents and practices. Dietitians' awareness and perceived need in terms of sustainable business-and-industry foodservice were not significantly different across general characteristics. Dietitians seemed to be highly aware of the impacts of business-and-industry foodservice on economy, whereas they appeared to lack understanding of its impacts on society and environment. Cost increase and levy on work in daily operations were considered as main obstacles hampering dietitians' intentions to perform sustainable practices. A total of 88.1% of responding dietitians expected that the meal price at a sustainable business-and-industry foodservice should be higher than the supposed standard price of 4,000 won, with an average reaching 5,270 won. Findings from this study could be used as baseline information for vitalizing sustainable business-and-industry foodservice in Korea.
The purpose of this study is to develop home economics educational programs on the theme of 'improving consumer life' for sustainable development. It is a program to enhance the changemaker mindset for responsible production and consumption among the 17 goals of the Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs). The program was developed 8 that to make solar cookers, make household goods from recycled materials, change maker-practice green life, eco-friendly journal 1, plastic warnings, design alternatives for disposable products, change maker-efforts and eco-friendly journal 2. The developed program was validated 3 times by a group of experts and students. This program has the following features. First, the Home Economics Education(HEE) program under the theme of 'Improving consumer life' for sustainable development are carried out at the stage of change-maker education with project-based process. It can improve students' collaboration skills, self-directed skills, communication skills and problem solving skills. Second, eight programs can increase understanding and interest in sustainable development, and learners are interested in social issues. This program can raise learners who play an active role in solving social problems by increasing their interest and interest in the class, free from the form of passive classes. Third, the HEE programs under the theme of 'Improving consumer life' for sustainable development are meaningful in that they are closely related to students' lives and encourage them to practice in their own lives. Fourth, since the program is well-suited to the present time and includes content elements for sustainable development, it can induce changes in learners' perceptions, attitudes and behaviors.
Nowadays, the environmental conservation has become a hot issue. Also the sustainable city issue is recognized as one of the most important tasks to be solved urgently for urban development. Therefore, the current indicator for sustainable city has been analyzed only as a segment of the environmental indicator which is one kind of branch of social indicator. However, considering the degree of pollution and heightened concern, it is time to develop a new and improved framework for the analysis of the sustainable city indicator. This study aims for the development of sustainable city indicator and the examination of practical method for the use of them. Urban sustainable city indicators are based on the "Pressure-State-Response (PSR) framework" which has been adopted by Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). The indicators suggested in this study is composed of the following categories: 1. Indicators of natural environment itself, such as land structure (available land use index etc.), bio-species (bio-diversity index etc.), environment resources (water quantity index etc.) 2. Indicators of relationship between man and environment, such as sustainability of using material (recycle of water index etc.), pressure size (pressure index on air etc.), effort of prevention (environmental basic facility index, etc.) 3. Indicators of environmental state, such as landscape and culture (historical & cultural index etc.), environmental pollution (air pollution index etc.) A sustainable city environment is necessary and obtainable, yet its realization seems to be difficult. The urban pollution problems have become more serious than ever before thus requiring much interest. Therefore, this kind of study is meaningful for the establishment of policy objective, and the development and management environmentally sound and sustainable cities.
Environmental education as worldwide sustainable education is effective when it is carried out as early as possible. But we do not have any aims and textbooks for environmental education in the elementary school. The purpose of this study is systematizing environmental syllabus as sustainable education. To achieve this purpose, firstly, the meaning of environmental education as sustainable education was conceptualized, secondly, the aims of environmental education was set up, thirdly, domains of environmental education was revised, and lastly, the syllabus for environmental instruction were created for each grade. Literature review was practiced over 143 textbooks and teacher's guidebooks from the 4th to 7th curriculum period. The result of this study follows. First, environmental education as sustainable education in the elementary school was conceptualized as an integrative education to keep the lifelong education and welfare. Second, the synthetic aim of environmental education as sustainable education in the elementary school was set up as 'cultivating desirable environmental people that behave for the sustainable future with environment-friendly value and attitude. Third, our environmental domains were divided into 11-12 independent areas, and ESSD (Environmentally Sound and Sustainable Development) was located on the subcategory of environmental domain. These domains were revised into three environmental domains and five sub-domains. Fourth, according to the aims of environmental education as sustainable education and five environmental domains, 253 objectives were established. Fifth, objectives of environmental education of 10 subject matters and integrative objectives were presented. Sixth, based on the objectives of domains and subject matters, 255 contents for environmental education in the elementary school were abstracted and distributed to each grade in the consideration of balance among domains and appropriateness of grades. Seventh, analytic results of textbooks of 7th curriculum shows heavy stress on the 'knowledge perception' section and deficiency on the altitudes and behavior section. The environment-related level and contents overlapped and fragmented deeply. Furthermore, 33 parts of textbooks could bring to mis-concept on environment.
Examination of the various impact factors on adoption sustainable IT can influence on the potential for creating sustainable businesses in today's society. However, the societal factor out of environmental factors, which stimulates customer intention to use sustainable IT, has seldom been investigated. In this paper, we examine the adoption of sustainable web technology from the pro-social behavior perspective. The concept of sustainable IT is theoretically examined based on social exchange theory. An empirical investigation is conducted into customer intention to use new sustainable IT. The results indicate that customers care about the social responsibility and usefulness of the sustainable IT-based services they choose. In this study, the social features of web technology and their influences on adoption are verified empirically for the first time. In addition, pro-sociality is identified as necessary to a perception of the socially responsible features of information technology. Furthermore, pro-social adoption behavior in the beginning stages of sustainable IT use is elucidated.
To improve the discrepancy between consumer attitude and actual consumption behavior despite the expansion of consumer perception of sustainable fashion, this study attempted to identify the factors influencing the purchase intention and behavior of sustainable fashion consumers. The extended theory of planned behavior, which adds prior knowledge and consumer inertia, was used to predict purchase intention and factors affecting purchase behavior for sustainable fashion, and to verify the influence of knowledge and inertia on consumers' attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control. The results of this study were derived from SPSS and AMOS statistical analysis based on response data of 323 domestic male and female consumers, 20 years or older with experience in sustainable fashion consumption. The results showed that consumers' prior knowledge and inertia about sustainable fashion have a significant influence on their attitude toward sustainable fashion consumption, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control. Implications were derived based on this quantitative verification. The higher the level of consumers' knowledge of sustainable fashion, the greater the impact on attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control, but inertia decreases the impact. Therefore, to grow consumers' knowledge, not only a shopping environment should be established but also inertia should be suppressed as much as possible through sustainable fashion marketing activities.
Purpose - Although the importance and necessity of "sustainable supply chain management (SCM)" is emphasized, it is often not realized due to conflicting results, the long time required, and large-scale changes brought about by sustainability. This study used the innovation resistance model to confirm the influence of sustainable SCM innovation resistance factors and dynamic capabilities on adoption intentions. This approach made it possible to understand the factors that hinder adoption of sustainability practices and to identify the relationships among influencing factors. It should also help to establish effective policies or strategies. Design/methodology - Through a literature review, the characteristics of sustainable SCM were classified into relative advantage, compatibility, perceived risk, and complexity. The effects of these innovation characteristics on innovation resistance in sustainable SCM and the effects of innovation resistance on adoption intentions were confirmed. In addition, the effects of SCM capabilities on innovation resistance and adoption intentions were analyzed, and the mediating effect of innovation resistance was analyzed. Findings - Compatibility, perceived risk, and flexibility had significant effects on innovation resistance. In turn, innovation resistance had a significant effect on adoption intention, and flexibility had a significant effect on intention to adopt. A partial mediating effect of resistance to innovation was confirmed. Originality/value - Although many previous studies have acknowledged trade-offs with sustainability, most sustainable SCM studies dealt with the correlations among positive drivers of adoption, practices, and performance. This study confirmed the process of accepting sustainable SCM innovation in a single model and is expected to serve as a cornerstone for future sustainable SCM adoption studies. In addition, our findings should help establish effective policies or strategies to activate SSCM adoption by identifying the factors that hinder the adoption of sustainable SCM.
The purpose of this study was to provide basic information about the study of model development of sustainable housing area. So, this study identified the concept of sustainable development and condition after investigation Habitat Agenda II, and the 10 items of agenda were used to constitute the case study framework. This study found the development characteristics through the case study of 6 sustainable housing areas in the world(US, UK and Australia), and searched the missing point in the sustainable development concept. The major findings are summarized as follows: First, the attempt of environmental sustainability was restrictive such as minimal environment pollution and waste, water resource protection and conservation of nature ecosystem. Second, in social-culture sustainability, the effort of right to housing, solution of urban squatter and housing welfare eliminated. Third, in economic sustainability, the attempt of prevent natural disaster, technological and industrial disaster excluded.
