플라즈마 이온질화에 의한 Fe 나노분말소결체의 표면경화 가능성 연구 (A Feasibility Study on the Surface Hardening of Sintered Iron Nanopowder by Plasma Ion Nitriding)

  • This study has been performed on the full density sintering of Fe nanopowder and the surface hardening by plasma ion nitriding. The Fe sintered part was fabricated by pressureless sintering of the Fe nanopowder at $700^{\circ}C$ in which the nanopowder agglomerates were controlled to have 0.5-5 ${\mu}m$ sized agglomerates with 150 nm Fe nanopowders. The green compact with 46% theoretical density(T.D.) showed a homogeneous microstructure with fine pores below 1 ${\mu}m$. After sintering, the powder compact underwent full densification process with above 98%T.D. and uniform nanoscale microstructure. This enhanced sintering is thought to be basically due to the homogeneous microstructure in the green compact in which the large pores are removed by wet-milling. Plasma ion nitriding of the sintered part resulted in the formation of ${\gamma}$'-$Fe_4N$ equilibrium phase with about 12 ${\mu}m$ thickness, leading to the surface hardening of the sintered Fe part. The surface hardness was remarkably increased from 176 $H_v$ for the matrix to 365 $H_v$.

유한요소법을 이용한 레이저 표면경화처리 공정변수의 민감도 해석 (Sensitivity Analysis of Processing Parameters for the Laser Surface Hardening Treatment by Using the Finite Element Method)

  • A methodology is developed and used to evaluate the response sensitivity of the thermal systems to variations in their design parameters. Technique for computing the sensitivity of temperature distributions to changes in processing parameters needed to decide the more effective laser input parameters for laser surface hardening treatment is considered. In this study, a state equation governing the heat flow in laser surface treatment is analyzed using a three-dimensional finite element method and sensitivity data of the processing parameter obtained using a direct differentiation method is applied to the sensitivity analysis. The interesting processing parameters are taken as the laser scan velocity and laser beam radius ( $r_{ b}$), and the sensitivities of the temperature T versus v and $r_{b}$ are analyzed. These sensitivity results are obtained with another parameters fixed. To verify the numerical analysis results, hardened layer dimensions (width and depth) of the numerical analysis are compared with the experimental ones.nes.

$CO_2$ 레이저 분산빔에 의한 표면경화가 구상흑연주철의 피로특성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of surface hardening by using $CO_2$ laser defocussed beam on the fatigue resistance of ductile irons)

  • This study has been performed to investigate into some effects of the output power and traverse speed of laser beam on the microstructures, hardness and fatigue resistance of the ductile iron surface-hardened by $CO_2$ laser defocussed beam. Optical micrographs have shown that with increasing the output power and decreasing the traverse speed, the martensite was coarsened and some retained austenite were appeared in ductile iron. The microstructures of hardening zone were composed of bull's eye and some nodular graphite dissolved structures by the effect of self quenching. Fatigue fracture characteristics of ductile iron have appeared in the high stress and low stress ranges. The fracture initiated at nodular graphites in the surface hardened layer due to the stress concentration caused by a notch effect. The interior graphite nodules were broken away or popped out during crack propagation. Fatigue test has shown that values of fatigue strength considerably increased with increasing output power at a given traverse speed.

초연약 해성점토의 표층고화처리를 위한 최적배합에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Optimal Mixture Ratio for Stabilization of Surface Layer on Ultra-soft Marine Clay)

  • 최근 연안지역에서의 대형건설공사 증가로 준설연약토의 안정화 공법중의 하나인 표층고화처리공법의 적용사례는 늘어나는 반면 이에 대한 연구자료는 미비한 실정이다. 본 연구는 초연약 해성점토와 고화재의 특성을 파악하고, 시험을 실시하여 반응표면 분석에 의하여 최적배합비를 도출하며, 이를 현장시험시공을 통해 검증하는 데에 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 적정 고화재 및 대상토를 선정하여 실험계획법에 의해 제반 실내시험을 실시하여 개량효과에 영향을 주는 인자와 정도를 평가하고, 고화재 원료의 배합비와 일축압축강도와의 관계식을 도출하였다. 또한 도출한 관계식을 현장시험을 통해 현장에의 적용성을 검증하였다. 시험결과 국내에서 주로 쓰여지는 고화재 원료(시멘트, 슬래그분말, 플라이애쉬, 무기염류, 아윈, 석고등)들이 압축강도발현에 미치는 영향을 알 수 있었으며, 통계분석을 통하여 소요강도를 만족하는 고화재의 최적배합비를 도출할 수 있었다. 또한 현장시험시공을 통해 시멘트와 고화재에 의한 지반개량효과를 비교.확인하였으며, 이는 초연약 해성점토의 표층고화처리의 설계 및 시공자료로 활용가능할 것으로 판단된다.

  • In general, Light-hardening polymer was used UV nanoimprint technology. A light-hardening polymer was had the problem of poor hardness, durability. In order to overcome the problem of polymer, inter change optical glass. However glass is very manufacture and a lowering of standars transmittance. In order to glass recover was necessary polishing process. The process is magnetorheological fluids polishing. MR polishing has been developed as a new precision finishing technique to obtain a fine surface. Hence, Magnetorheological fluids has been used for micro polishing to get micro parts. This polishing process guarantees high polishing quality by controlling the fluid density electrically. The applied material in experiments is fused silica glass. Fused silica glass is widely used in the optical field because of high degree of purity. For MR polishing experiments, MR fluid was composed with DI-water, carbonyl iron and nano slurry ceria. The wheel speed and electric current were chosen as the variables for analyzing the characteristics of MR polishing process. Outstanding surface roughness of Ra=1.58nm was obtained on the fused silica glass specimen. And originally glass transmittance was recover on the fused silica glass.

  • Recently, the technology of surface treatment is being more important which affects the material cost reduction and substitution to the expensive material. The material used for the mechanical processing should have not only high intensity, but also strength toughness, wear resistance and corrosion resistance. In order to increase the durability and have better quality of the parts using such kind of tooling material, various kinds of research of the surface hardening through many kinds of heat resources is being done and practically applied. In this study, the characteristics of hardening surface zone for high strength of the press die material through laser beam irradiation are researched. In this study, it is experimentally observed by the status of the surface morphology, tensile strength, the hardness distribution of the base metal and wear condition by the surface hardness pattern by the laser beam based on the process parameters of $CO_2$ laser by using SM45C and STD11 used for press tool. Through this research, the characteristics of surface hardened zone for high strength of the thin metal by laser beam irradiation is done.

  • This paper proposed that the eddy-current measurement method can be used a means of in-process measuring the hardening depth in Laser surface treatment process. Also, this paper deal with the numerical analysis of magnetic flux distribution and experimental result of measurement. In Laser heat treatment process of steels, a thin layer of the substrate is rapidly heated to austenitizing temperature and subsequently cooled at a very fast rate due to the self-quenching by heat conduction into the bulk body, to produce a martensite structure which have low magnetic permeability. The eddy-current measurement method depends on the properties of material to be measured such as electric conductivity, magnetic permeability and geometry. In this paper, the hardening depth was measured by detecting relevant magnetic permeability changes caused by heat treatment of steels.

  • The study on a surface transformation hardening of a rod-shaped SM45C carbon steel is carried out by using CW Nd:YAG laser. Conventionally, $CO_2$ laser has been usually used as a laser source for a transformation hardening. however, it is needed to an additional absorbent coating like a colloidal graphite owing to a lower absorbtion rate. On the other hand, no cost and post-removal process of coating is required to Nd:YAG laser, due to a higher absorbtion rate relatively. Moreover, there is a merit which is capable of building up the more flexible processing system resulted from a beam delivery through a optical fiber. In this study, we were going to recognize characteristics of a transformation hardening using a optic head with a gaussian beam distribution.

초연약해성점성토 지반의 표층안정처리를 위한 최적고화재 배합비 산정에 관한 연구 (The Evaluation of Optimum Hardening Agent Mixture Ratio for Surface Stabilization on Extremely Soft Marine Clay)

  • Hardening agent has been the traditional material for surface soil stabilization of soft ground. The aim of this study if to determine optimal mixture ratio of hardening agent in accordance with the required design specifications. Hardening agent consists of fly ash, gypsum, slag and cement for the ettringite hydrates and if effective for early stabilization of unconsolidated soil. The raw ground material is the clay that is widely found here and there in Korea. In this study, preliminary tests were performed to get optimal mixture ratio of stabilizer ingredient and marine clay in Jinhae was used to get physical and chemical properties. Laboratory tests of 50 stabilized soils were performed to get optimal mixture ratio for 16-stabilizer materials of 6 types, and mixture ratio of stabilizer ingredient and marine clay was determined.
