  • In the last two decades, the welfare states have undergone the changes of restructuring towards two ways. One is a restructuring of workfare and the other is a restructuring of the gender model of welfare state. In Korea, the workfare is reflecting on the DJ Welfarism 'Productive Welfare', but the gender model has a little effect on the public policies. By the way, It is imported that has the gender perspective in approaching the self-supporting program in the public assistance representing of the DJ Welfarism. Because almost 60% of the beneficiaries of the program are women. The Gender-mainstreaming strategy criticizes for the laws, the public policies, the public programs that considered gender-neutral or gender-blinded, and then complete the equality between women and men through the modification or development of those. The approach of Gender-mainstreaming is very important strategy for not only women who are self-reliance recipient but also successful settlement of self-supporting program. Nowadays that program is not execute yet. Then we hardly have information about recipients and the results that expected from that. At this point of gender-mainstreaming, this report suggest the strategy to development and settlement of the self-supporting program in the basics of analysis for the low-income unemployed and the government policy response to unemployment. For the gender models of the self-supporting program, the most important thing is throwing the male breadwinner model and adoption the dural-earner model (the gender model) about that program. Then we must produce gender-statistics data, develop programs for public work, job replacement, job training, evaluating system, etc. with gender perspective.

  • The main purpose of this research is to develop a program supporting landscape planting design on AutoCAD basis using AutoLISP and DCL language. Current CAD use in landscape architecture field is mainly focused on customizing plant symbols for supporting two dimensional drafting rather than three dimensional consideration. This program is composed of eight module a such as PLANT module for inserting plant symbols, LABEL module for labeling task, SIMULATION module for simulating plant growth and seasonal color variation, TABLE module for generating plant table automatically, BUILDING module, BLOCK module, UTILITY module for deleting, transforming, shading symbols and DB MANAGER module for manipulating data. Design automation ability using automatic object recognition technique in this program allows AutoCAD to be used as a design tool in addition to its main role as a drafting tool through supporting landscape designers to generate many alternatives in the early phase of design.

For this purpose, data were collected from self-support program participants in 2012 (1,301 participants in self-supporting labor programs and 128 in self-support community programs). Input variables analyzed as factors influencing the will of self-reliance were socio-demographic variables, self-esteem, and social capital. According to the results, first, self-supporting labor program participants' self-esteem was 2.328 out of 4 (S.M= .402) and it was somewhat lower than 2.406 (S.M=.404) in self-support community participants, but the difference was not significant. Self-supporting labor program participants' social capital was 2.980 out of 5 (S.M=.844), significantly lower than 3.356 (S.M=.815) in self-support community program participants. Self-supporting labor program participants' will of self-support was 4.150 out of 5 (S.M=.602), lower than 4.314 (S.M=.521) in self-support community program participants. Second, according to the results of regression analysis on self-support program participants' will of self-reliance, age (B=-.198, p<.001), self-esteem (B=.236, p<.001), and social capital (B=.166, p<.001) were found to have a significant effect. That is, the will of self-support was higher when age was young, when self-esteem was high, and when social capital was high. Based on these findings, this study suggested self-support policies, education systems, differentiated programs, etc. for enhancing self-support program participants' will of self-reliance.
