Ultra high performance concrete (UHPC) in this study is composed of sand, cement, silica fume, siliceous powder, superplasticizer and steel fiber. UHPC is composed of fine mineral particles below 0.5mm in diameter. In general, siliceous powder improves the mechanical properties of concrete by physical and chemical effect. Physical effect is related with filling interior voids which weaken the mechanical properties and chemical effect with reaction of $SiO_2$ with cement hydrates in a condition of high temperature and pressure. We evaluated the effect of siliceous powder's particle size on the mechanical properties of ultra high performance concrete in air pressure and $90^{\circ}C$ steam curing condition. siliceous powder's particle size in this study is in the range of $2{\mu}m$ to $26{\mu}m$. Fluidity in a fresh concrete, compressive strength, ultimate strain, elastic modulus and flexural strength in a hardened concrete was evaluated. We could find out that the smaller siliceous powder's particle size is, the better the fluidity and strength properties.

In this study, the thermal conductivity, physical and mechanical properties of lightweight aggregate concretes with hollow micro sphere(HMS) are experimentally examined as a basic research for the development of structural insulation concrete. As the results of this experiment, in the case of concrete mixed with HMS, the value of slump has been reduced, so it is found that the dosage of superplasticizer should be increased. As the replacement ratio of HMS increases, it has shown that the compressive strength is somewhat decreased due to the low interfacial adhesion strength of HMS. But the thermal conductivity is found to be greatly improved with the replacement ratio of HMS increases, the thermal conductivity of HMS shows the lower value of 68% at lightweight aggregate concrete and 32% of normal concrete. Also it is found that the compressive strength is decreased and thermal conductivity is increased as the water-cement ratio increases. The most outstanding for insulation performance is observed when using 20% of HMS and 50% of water-cement ratio.
One of ways to make high-strength concrete is for the mix contain particles graded down to the finest size : this is achieved by the use of fly ash, silica fume which fills the spaces between the cement particle and between the aggregate and the cement particles. And, the mix needs a sufficient workability. This is achieved by the use of a superplasticizer. This study is to investigate frost resistance of high-strength concrete at early age, with ratio of tensile strength and recovery of compressive strength, when high-strength concrete is placed in cold climates. According to this study, it is necessary to ensure 4 % of air content, 5 kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$ of tensile strength, at least, for frost resistance of high-strength concrete at early age.
Naphthalene sulfonated condensate has been widely used as a superplasticizer for cement and
concrete, but the application was limited due to its large slump loss with elapsed time.
To complement this demerit of NSF, polycarboxylic acid copolymer from nlaleic anhydride and
acryl~c acid(MA) was synthesized to retain the mobility of cement and concrete, and then mixed
with NSF. The physical properties, such as fluidity, fluidityretention and rheology, were
measured by applying these admixtures to cement paste as a function of elapsed time. And also
compressive strength of mortar was measured with curing time.
NIv-l and NM-2 containing 10, 20 wt% of MA respectively had a excellent fluidity and a fluidity-
retention. In rheological property, the increases of shear stress and viscosity with elapsed
time were delayed with the increasing of shear rate in cornparision with NSF only. The marked
slump loss of cement paste could be controlled by these admixture. Also the added ainount of admixture
and the ratio of water to cement affected these properties.
In the previous study, naphthalene and /or naphthol were sulfonated wlth sulfuric acid and they were condensated with formaldehyde. The condensates prepared are subjected to the flow and strength tests of cement rnortnr to examine the chemcal effects of cement adrnlxtures. As the results of flow test, the flow of cement mortar mxed wth naphthol condensates(TSC) and naphthol naphthalene cocondensates( NT5) was larger than those mxed with synthetic naphtha lene condensate (NSS). In the experiments of compressive strength after 28 days curing, the hardned cement mortar containing naphthalene naphthol condensates(N1'5) showed a higher compressive strength than those contairung naphthalene condensates(NSS) and naphthol condensates('I'SC). As a results, the synthetic naphthalene condensates(NT5, TSC 1, whlch used i n this study, are greatly expected as good superplasticizers for the concrete.

In this research, we used fly-ash and blast-furnace slag as substitute material of cement and fine aggregate, and we, through experiments, researched and analyzed the features of high-flowable concrete added high efficiency AE water reduction agent. The results are below. 1. Liquefaction generally presented high-slump flow value; on the other hand, partial segregation was observed in case of mixing proportion with 65 cm slump flow and above. This segregation was partially improved in accordance with mixing admixture. 2. Compressive strength according to mixing admixture and increasing mixing ratio of fly-ash were subject to be declined when it was initially cast-in, but its gap was improved when time was fully passed. 3. After mixing blast-furnace slag and fly-ash as substitute material, the result showed that the modulus of elasticity against freezing & melting was improved according to mixing blast-furnace slag and also increased in accordance with increasing pulverulent-body volume. 4. According to increasing the mixing volume of fly-ash, the durability factor was deteriorated because compressive strength became lower as well as air content was decreased when it was initially case-in. 5. The minimum air content to secure durability was 3.7%, for that reason, we had better secure admixture such as air entraining agent when cast-in high-flowable concrete.
This paper investigates the effect of recycled glass powder (RGP) on flowing properties of self-compacting mortars (SCMs) containing different ratios of fillers and superplasticizer dosages. Fly ash (FA), nano-silica (NS), micro-silica (MS), metakaolin (MK) and rice husk ash (RHA) are used as fillers and their synergistic effect with RFP is studied. The effects of fillers and high-range water reducer (HRWR) on flowing ability of mortars are primarily determined by slump flow and V-funnel flow time tests. The results showed that for composites with a higher RGP content, the mortar flowing ability increased but tended to decrease when the composites containing 10% MK or 5% RHA. However, the flowing ability of samples incorporating 5% RGP and 10% SF or 25% FA showed an opposite result that their slump flow spread decreased and then increased with increasing RGP content. For specimens with 3% NS, the influence of RGP content on flowing properties was not significant. Except RHA and MS, the fillers studied in this paper could reduce the dosage of HRWR required for achieving the same followability. Also, the mixture parameters were determined and indicated that the flowability of mixtures was also affected by the content of sand and specific surface area of cement materials. It is believed that excess fine particles provided ball-bearing effect, which could facilitate the movement of coarse particles and alleviate the interlocking action among particles. Also, it can be concluded that using fillers in conjunction with RGP as cementitious materials can reduce the material costs of SCM significantly.

The aim of the research is providing the rheological performance range for manufacturing "mid-workability concrete". The mid-workability concrete means the normal strength range concrete mixture with high workability. Since there is not enough study or quantitative definitions on performance of the mid-workability concrete, in this research, the performance range for high workability of mid-workability concrete mixture using rheology. Because of the mixture characteristics of generally used normal strength concrete such as relatively high water-to-cement ratio and no SCMs, segregation of coarse aggregate should be prevent to achieve a successful high workability. From the experimental study in this research scope, 5 to 35 Pa.s of plastic viscosity was desirable to prevent segregation for nid-workability concrete, and general performance range with rheological parameters was provided.
The objective of this study is to evaluate the mechanical properties of high-flowable retaining wall material (RWM) incorporated with ground granulated blast-furnace slag (SG) and steel fiber (SF) based on a comparison with those of ordinary portland cement (OPC). To produce the specimens of RWM, some chemical agents such as superplasticizer (SP), air-entrained agent (AEA) and viscosity modifying agent (VMA) are added in the fresh RWM. The compressive, split tensile and flexural strength measurements were performed on the hardened RWM specimens. Additionally, surface electric resistivity and absorption tests according to ASTM standards were carried out at predetermined periods after water curing. It was found that the mechanical properties of slag cement concrete (SGC) RWM mix are better than those ordinary portland cement concrete (OPC) RWM mix. The effect of SF is remarkable to improve the mechanical properties of RWM mixes. It is noted that the usage of SG shows a beneficial effect to resist water penetration as well as long-term strength development of RWM mixes.

This study investigates the effects of nano silica (NS) and micro steel fiber on the properties of ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC). The experimental consists of three groups, each one with five percentages of NS content (0%, 2%, 4%, 6% and 8%) in addition to the 20% silica fume and 20% quartz powder proportioned according to the weight of cement added to the mixtures. In addition, three percentages of micro steel fibers (0%, 1% and 2%) were considered. Different mixtures with varying percentages of NS and micro steel fibers were prepared to set the water-to-binder ratio, such as 0.16% and 1.8% superplasticizer proportioned according the weight of the binder materials. The fresh properties, mechanical properties and elevated temperatures of the mixtures were calculated. Then, the results from the microstructure analyses were compared with that of the reference mixtureand it was found that 6% replacement of cement with NS was optimum replacement level. When the NS content was increased from 0% to 6%, the air content and permeability of the mixture decreased by 35% and 39%, the compressive and tensile strength improved by 21% and 18% and the flexural strength and modulus of elasticity increased by 20% and 11.5%, respectively. However, the effect of micro steel fibres on the compressive strength was inconclusive. The overall results indicate that micro steel fibres have the potential to improve the tensile strength, flexure strength and modulus of elasticity of the UHPC. The use of 6% NS together with 1% micro-steel fiber increased the concrete strength and reduce the cost of concrete mix.
