형광등과 자연광의 광도에 따른 실내조경식물의 생육반응과 도입 방안 (Growth Responses and Introduction Plan of Interior Landscape Plants under Light Intensity of Fluorescent Light and Sunlight)

  • This study was carried out to obtain fundamental information of growth response of interior landscape plants under a fluorescent lighting, a sunlight at indoor. Ficus elastica Roxb. vu. decora Hort, Spathiphyllum 'Clevelandii', Codiaeum variegatum Blume var. pictum Mvell. Arg. 'Exalant' and Cordyline terminalis Kunth var. red edge Hort were examined under 100lux, 500lux, 1,000lux and 2,000lux light intensity consisted of fluorescent lighting and sunlight at indoor condition. Result of experiments are as follows; 1. A Ficus elastica Roxb. var. decora Hort plant growth status was better showed under fluorescent lighting than sunlight. A plant growth status showed the best result under 2,000lux light intensity of fluorescent lighting in cases of all conditions. 2. A Spathiphyllum 'Clevelandii' showed the best effective adaptations under law intensity among experimental plants. A Spathiphyllum 'Clevelandii', plant growth status was better showed under fluorescent lighting than sunlight. A plant growth status showed the best result under 1,000lux light intensity of fluorescent lighting in cases of all conditions. 3. It need the best high establishment of fluorescent lighting among experimental plants for good plant growth. A Codiaeum variegatum Blume var. pictum Mvell. Arg. 'Exalant' plant growth status was better showed under fluorescent lighting than sunlight. A plant growth status was better showed under high light intensity in case of same light source. A plant growth status showed the best result under 2,000lux light intensity of fluorescent lighting. 4. A Cordyline terminalis Kunth var. red edge Hort plant growth status was better showed under fluorescent lighting than sunlight. but, A plant growth status was better showed under $500lux\sim1,000lux$ than 2,000lux in cases of all intensity of fluorescent lighting. while, A plant growth status was better showed under $1,000lux\sim2,000lux$ in cases of all intensity of sunlight.

  • This study was carried out to produce more Parasenecio firmus in forest farming. In order to achieve this purpose, it was surveyed the growth and photosynthetic characteristics of P. firmus. Relatively light intensity was controlled by 100%, 60%, 30% and 5% of full sunlight. Height was the highest under 5% of full sunlight. Shoot diameter was the highest in full sunlight. Fresh weight (leaf, stem, root and total) and dry weight (leaf, root and total) were the highest under 30% of full sunlight. S (leaf+stem)/R (root) ratio was the lowest under 30% of full sunlight and the highest under 5% of full sunlight. In leaf characteristics, leaf area, SLA and LAR were getting higher in the lower light level and the highest under 5% of full sunlight ($176.1cm^2$, $420.5cm^2{\cdot}g^{-1}$ and $123.5cm^2{\cdot}g^{-1}$). Especially, leaf area was surveyed higher under 30% of full sunlight in the next. Leaf thickness was getting lower in the lower light level and the lowest under 5% of full sunlight (overall 0.14~0.24 mm). As a result of surveying the whole experiment, P. firmus grows well under 30% and 5% of full sunlight in forest farming.

Changes in Chloroplast Ultrastructure and Thylakoid Membrane Proteins by High Light in Ginseng Leaves

  • Ultrastructural changes in Panax ginseng C. A. Meyer mesophyll chloroplasts and variation of thylakoid membrane protein in responce to the light intensity were studied in leaves of two-y-old plants exposed to two different light intensities under field coditions. The leaves were allowed to function for three months after emergence under two contrasting light conditions. The ginseng chloroplasts of 5% light were filled with highly stacked grana of condensely arrayed thylakoids, so that the stroma space was hardly observed. In contrast, chloroplasts from leaves at 100% sunlight had fewer thylakoid membranes and smaller grana stacks. The number of osmiophilic globules increased. Total Chl content and Chl b content were lower at 100% sunlight than 5% sunlight. The thylakoid membrane proteins in the leaves grown at 100% sunlight showed lower CPIa, LHCII and CP29 than those with 5% sunlight. This effect was most obvious for LHCII. Polypeptides showed major bands at 90, 64, 29-30, 22 and 14 kD, and minor bands at 59, 58, 54, 52, 49, 46, 44, 35, 23, 21 and 18-19 kD. All these bands were lower in intensity in the leaves exposed to 100% sunlight. Moreover, the bands at 58-59, 46-47 and 23 kD disappeared.

광섬유 조명체계가 실내조경식물의 생육에 미치는 효과 (The Growth Effects on Interior Landscape Plants by Optical Fiber Lighting System)

  • This study was carried out to obtain fundamental information on the growth response of interior landscape plants under fluorescent light, sunlight and optical fiber lighting indoors. Saintpaulia ‘Delaware’, ‘Kalanchoe blossfeldiana, Anthurium scherzerianum and Ardisia crenata were examined using light intensity of 5001ux and 1,0001ux of fluorescent light, sunlight and optical fiber lighting in an interior environment. Results of experiments are as follows; 1) Plant growth status showed the best results under optical fiber lighting compared with fluorescent light or sunlight. 2) Plant growth status was better under 1,0001ux light intensity than 5001ux light intensity and in cases of the same light intensity, the highest growth increase was under optical fiber lighting. while it was showed relatively different according to the different plant species between a fluorescent light and sunlight. 3) The deep pinkish red color of Saintpaulia ‘Delaware’flower was obtained first under an optical fiber lighting and a fluorescent light, a sun light in that order. 4) Regarding interred activity, photosynthetic rate and transpiration rate, intercellular CO, water absorption rate showed a similar tendency generally in spite of a little difference. Namely, transpiration rate and intercellular CO, $CO_2$ a absorption rate increased according to increase of photosynthetic rate. 5) Photosynthetic rate of test plants except Anthurium scherzerianum increased according to increase of light intensity and increased highest under optical fiber lighting in the same light intensity condition. Increases differed under fluorescent light and sun light. That of Saineaulia ‘Delaware’and Anthurium scherzerianum increased in the order of optical fiber, fluorescent light and sun light, but that of Kalanchoe blossfeldiana and Ardisia pusilla increased in the order of optical fiber lighting, sun light and fluorescent light. Summing up these results, In visual value or internal health status of all experimental plants we obtained the highest result under an optical fiber lighting. Finally, we need to introduce an optical fiber lighting in interior landscape space as main light source.

상대광도별 삽주 유묘의 생장 및 뿌리 발달 특성 (Growth and Root Development Characteristics of Atractylodes japonica Seedlings by Different Relative Light Intensity)

  • This study was carried out in order to investigate the early growth and root development characteristics of Atractylodes japonica container seedling. Experiment was performed by light intensity (100%, 60%, 25% and 10% of full sunlight). Height was surveyed well under 25% of full sunlight (overall 11.013.0%). Root collar diameter was the highest in the full sunlight (7.52 mm). It was the highest fresh weight (1.52 g, 0.92 g, 0.90 g and 3.34 g) under 25% of full sunlight, root dry weight was getting higher in the higher light level and the highest in the full sunlight (0.13 g). Total root length, root project area, root surface area and root volume were the highest under 25% of full sunlight (434.7 cm, $17.4cm^2$, $54.7cm^2$, $0.55cm^3$, respectively) and the lowest under 10% of full sunlight. As a result of surveying the whole experiment, A. japonica is judged nicely by maintaining 25% of full sunlight, excepting 10% of full sunlight. And light levels during the early growth are overly important to improve early growth.

태양광-전기자동차의 충전·방전 시스템에 관한 연구 (A Carge-discharge System of a Solar-Electric Vehicle)

  • Design of an electric power system on the solar-electric vehicle is very important because sunlight intensity is changed by weather conditions and road environments. Power output of solar module on the vehicle being changed by unsteady sunlight intensity. In this paper, design method of an electric power system are proposed to generate steady electric power output. The test results shows the electric power system are effective because the solar-electric vehicle have steady driving speed under unsteady sunlight conditions.

  • This paper presents analysis of temperature and light intensity characteristics of PV modules with solar cell type. Taking the effect of sunlight irradiance on the cell temperature, the first experiment takes ambient temperature as reference input and uses the solar insolation as a unique varying parameter. Then taking the effect of the cell temperature on sunlight irradiance, the second experiment takes 1000W/$m^2$ as reference input and uses the cell temperature as a unique varying parameter. As a result, varying sunlight irradiance, the Cell-Type with the smallest change in output is HIT and the Cell-Type with the biggest change in output is a-Si. Varying the cell temperature, the Cell-Type with the smallest change in output is a-Si and the Cell-Type with the biggest change in output is Single-Si. And considering both temperature and light intensity characteristics, the Cell-Type with the smallest change in output is HIT.

차광수준이 송악과 수호초의 생육에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Shading on the Growth of Hedera rhombea Bean and Pachysandra terminalis Sieb. et Zucc.)

  • 본 연구는 차광수준이 송악과 수호초의 생육에 미치는 효과를 알아보기 위해 차광수준을 입사광의 0, 35, 55, 75, 그리고 95% 수준으로 실시하였다. 송악은 95%에서 생육이 억제되었으며 직립형의 성질을 나타냈고, 수호초는 35%에서 초장이 가장 높게 나타났다. 분지수는 차광수준에 따른 차이를 보이지 않았으며, 줄기의 직경과 초장은 35%부터 95%로 차광률이 높아지면서 감소하였다. 잎의 생장은 35%와 55% 차광수준에서 가장 좋았으며, 75%에서도 생육이 좋아서 내음성이 양호한 것으로 생각되었다. 잎은 광도가 감소함에 따라 길어졌으나, 95% 차광시에는 대조구보다 짧게 나타났다. 전체 엽록소, 엽록소 a, b 함량 및 엽록소 a/b 비율은 차광에 의해서 대조구보다 다소 증가하는 경향을 보여서, 95% 차광에서 가장 높게 나타났다. 생체중과 건물중은 35, 55, 75% 수준에서 대조구나 95% 차광수준에서보다 높았다. 비엽중은 광도가 감소함에 따라 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다. 이상의 결과로부터, 송악과 수호초의 생육에 적합한 광도는 35%~55% 차광수준이며, 75% 차광하에서도 생육에는 지장이 없을 것으로 보인다.

CMOS 기반의 디지털 태양센서를 위한 고정밀 이미지 중심 알고리즘의 개발 (Development of High-Accuracy Image Centroiding Algorithm for CMOS-based Digital Sun Sensor)

  • 디지털 태양센서는 CMOS 이미지 센서에 맺힌 태양광 이미지를 이용하여 태양광의 입사 각도를 계산한다. 이를 위해서는 태양광 이미지의 정확한 중심점을 찾아야하며 따라서 정밀한 중심점 추정은 디지털 태양센서 개발에서 가장 중요한 요소가 된다. 중심점을 찾기 위해서 가장 일반적으로 쓰이는 중심 알고리즘은 thresholding 방법이며 가장 단순하고 구현하기 쉽다. 또 다른 알고리즘으로는 이미지 처리를 이용하는 image filtering 방법이 있다. 하지만 이러한 방법들은 태양센서 정밀도가 이미지 센서에서 획득한 태양광 강도(intensity) 데이터의 노이즈에 영향을 많이 받으며, 특히 thresholding 방법의 경우 threshold 값에 따라 정밀도가 바뀌기 때문에 효과적인 threshold 값을 정하기 어려운 단점이 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 태양광 이미지의 중심점을 구하기 위해서 태양광 이미지 모델을 이용하는 template 방법을 제시하고 성능을 비교 분석하였다. 제안한 template 방법은 thereshold, image filtering 방법과 달리 비교적 높은 정밀도를 가지며, 특히 노이즈 수준에 관계없이 거의 일정한 수준의 정밀도를 가지는 장점이 있어 신뢰성이 높다.

Is Sunlight a Predisposing Factor for Triple Negative Breast Cancer in Turkey?

  • Intraduction: There is known to be a relationship between vitamin D level and more aggresive breast cancer subtypes, especially triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). It was reported that sunlight exposure has an effect on the prognosis of patients with cancer, possibly related to the conversion of vitamin D to its active form with sunlight. We aimed to evaluate the effect of sunlight exposure on patients with TNBC. Materials-Methods: A total of 1,167 patients with breast cancer from two different regions of Turkey (Antalya and Kayseri, regions having different climate and sunlight exposure intensity over the year) were analysed retrospectively. The ratio of patients with TNBC was identified in those two regions. Results: The ratio of patients with TNBC was 8% and 12% for Kayseri and Antalya regions, respectively, and this difference between the two groups was statistically significant (p=0.021). Discussion: Sunlight exposure may be associated with more prevalent TNBC. This finding should be investigated with a prospective study.
