Emotional Intelligence and Project Success: The Roles of Transformational Leadership and Organizational Commitment

  • The paper aims to examine the relationship of emotional intelligence on the project success, the causal relationship between emotional intelligence and project success, and also investigate the influence of emotional intelligence and the mediating role of transformational leadership as well as the moderating effect of organization commitment on the relationship between emotional intelligence and project success. Cross sessional research is applied to collect the data in this study. By applying quantitative research and survey question, the study collects 325 respondents who are the project managers. Snow-ball sampling method is used to distribute the questionnaires by face to face survey (68% of respondents) and online survey (32% of respondents). The collected data is analyzing by applying partial least square (PLS-SEM) via software SmartPLS 3.0.The result shows that the emotional intelligence and the transformational leadership making the project even more successful as the mediation actor. Furthermore, the project commitment also has the moderator effect between transformational leadership and project success. With the result of study, project managers should be aware of the importance of emotional intelligence and their commitment to the ability to manage projects successfully. A successful project is a combination of many actors, the most critical actor is the leader of the project.

  • 전통적인 비즈니스 인텔리전스 환경은 빠르게 변하는 시장과 기하급수적으로 증가하는 데이터의 크기와 복잡성에 대처하는 데 한계를 보여왔다. 이에 기업들은 경쟁사 대비 더 빠르고 정확한 의사결정을 위해 사용자 주도 비즈니스 인텔리전스(Self-Service Business Intelligence) 환경으로의 변모를 요구받고 있다. 그러나 실제 기업 현장에서는 사용자 주도 비즈니스 인텔리전스 환경 구축과 운영에 어려움을 겪고 있으며, 참고할 만한 사례를 포함하여 성공적인 사용자 주도 비즈니스 인텔리전스에 관한 연구가 부족하다. 이에 본 연구에서는 비즈니스 인텔리전스 시스템의 핵심성공요인에 관한 기존 연구 방법론을 기반으로, 국내 3사 제조업 및 유통업체의 비즈니스 인텔리전스 개발 과정 및 활용 사례를 상세하고 깊이 있게 분석하였다. 조직-프로세스-기술 측면 7가지 핵심 성공요인에 대해 개발 목적과 구현 전략이 상이한 세가지 국내 사례를 비교 분석함으로써 비즈니스 인텔리전스 성공모델의 국내 기업 적용 가능성과 도입 전략의 시사점을 도출한다. 해당 프로젝트를 주도한 전문가들의 심층 인터뷰와 도입효과 평가를 통한 심층 비교 분석은, 사용자 주도 비즈니스 인텔리전스의 구체적인 개발 과정과 난제, 활용에 대한 풍부한 시사점을 제공하고 기업의 비즈니스 인텔리전스 활성화와 사용자 주도 비즈니스 인텔리전스 고도화에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

Product Innovation Accounting, Customer Response Capability and Market Success: An Empirical Investigation in Thailand

  • This study aims at investigating the effect of product innovation accounting on the market success of instant food and convenience food businesses in Thailand with customer response capability as the mediator. In addition, it examines the effects of management accounting systems, marketing intelligence, and technology orientation on product innovation accounting. The sample for this study is 258 instant food and convenience food businesses in Thailand. To test the research relationships, a structural equation model is used. The results of this study show that product innovation accounting has a significant effect on both customer response capability and market success. Similarly, customer response capability significantly leads to market success while it mediates the product innovation accounting-market success relationship. Testing the antecedents of the research relationships, management accounting system, marketing intelligence, and technology orientation potentially affect product innovation accounting. Accordingly, product innovation accounting is a key source of competitive advantage. Product innovation accounting must be recognized by company management as a strategic tool for competing in markets and environments. They must invest their resources and capabilities to create and develop product innovation accounting principles, as well as encouraging their staff to implement and use these principles in the workplace.

Analysis of Google's success factors and direction

  • Among the innovative companies leading the era of the 4th industrial revolution, the world's largest Internet company is Google. Google has grown by providing convenient services such as Internet search, Android smartphone operating system, and video. Now, Google is leading the global IT industry by continuing to develop in various new business fields based on open service platforms, artificial intelligence, and big data. In this study, an exploratory discussion was conducted on Google's success factors and future directions. The purpose of the research is to understand the development process of the IT field from the successfactors of Google and to analyze the development direction of the future IT industry. Google's success factors were its open platform policy and successful acquisitions of external companies. In fact, most of the services Google offers come from companies that have acquired and acquired them. In addition, there was a corporate culture that values and supportsthe spirit of challenge and autonomy of members who are not afraid of failure. Based on this study's review of Google's direction analysis, the follow-up study will infer the direction of the IT industry in depth and look at the future technologies that IT majors need to prepare.

A Systems Engineering Approach to Predict the Success Window of FLEX Strategy under Extended SBO Using Artificial Intelligence

  • On March 11, 2011, an earthquake followed by a tsunami caused an extended station blackout (SBO) at the Fukushima Dai-ichi NPP Units. The accident was initiated by a total loss of both onsite and offsite electrical power resulting in the loss of the ultimate heat sink for several days, and a consequent core melt in some units where proper mitigation strategies could not be implemented in a timely fashion. To enhance the plant's coping capability, the Diverse and Flexible Strategies (FLEX) were proposed to append the Emergency Operation Procedures (EOPs) by relying on portable equipment as an additional line of defense. To assess the success window of FLEX strategies, all sources of uncertainties need to be considered, using a physics-based model or system code. This necessitates conducting a large number of simulations to reflect all potential variations in initial, boundary, and design conditions as well as thermophysical properties, empirical models, and scenario uncertainties. Alternatively, data-driven models may provide a fast tool to predict the success window of FLEX strategies given the underlying uncertainties. This paper explores the applicability of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to identify the success window of FLEX strategy for extended SBO. The developed model can be trained and validated using data produced by the lumped parameter thermal-hydraulic code, MARS-KS, as best estimate system code loosely coupled with Dakota for uncertainty quantification. A Systems Engineering (SE) approach is used to plan and manage the process of using AI to predict the success window of FLEX strategies under extended SBO conditions.

RGB-D 환경인식 시각 지능, 목표 사물 경로 탐색 및 심층 강화학습에 기반한 사람형 로봇손의 목표 사물 파지 (Grasping a Target Object in Clutter with an Anthropomorphic Robot Hand via RGB-D Vision Intelligence, Target Path Planning and Deep Reinforcement Learning)

  • 다중 사물 환경에서 목표 사물만의 정밀한 파지를 위해서는 장애물과의 충돌 회피 지능과 정교한 파지 지능이 필요하다. 이 작업을 위해선 다중 사물 환경 인지, 목표 사물 인식, 경로 설정, 로봇손의 사물 파지 지능이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 RGB-D 영상 센서를 이용하여 다중 사물 환경과 사물을 인지하고 3D 공간을 매핑한 후, 충돌 회피 경로 탐색 알고리즘을 활용하여 목표 사물까지의 경로를 탐색 및 설정하고, 강화학습을 통해 학습된 사람형 로봇손의 목표 사물 파지 지능을 활용해 최종적으로 시뮬레이션 및 하드웨어 사물 파지 시스템을 구현하고 검증하였다. 사람형 로봇손을 구현한 시뮬레이션 환경에서 5개의 사물 중 목표 사물을 지정하고 파지한 결과 경로 탐색 없는 파지 시스템이 평균 78.8%의 성공률과 34%의 충돌률을 보일 때, 경로 탐색 지능과 결합된 시스템은 평균 94%의 성공률과 평균 20%의 충돌률을 보였다. UR3와 QB-Soft Hand를 사용한 하드웨어 환경에서는 3개의 사물 중 목표 사물을 지정하고 파지한 결과 경로 탐색 없는 파지 시스템이 평균 30%의 성공률과 97%의 충돌률을 보일 때, 경로 탐색 지능과 결합된 시스템은 평균 90%의 성공률과 평균 23%의 충돌률을 보였다. 본 연구에서는 RGB-D 시각 지능, 충돌 회피 경로 탐색, 사물 파지 심층 강화학습 지능의 결합을 통하여, 사람형 로봇손의 목표 사물 파지가 가능함을 제시하였다.

장노년층의 지능정보사회 인식이 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 : 온/오프라인 사회적 자본의 조절효과를 중심으로 (The Influence of Intelligence Information Society Perception Expectation Anxiety on Life Satisfaction among the Elderly : Moderating effect of On/Offline Social Capital)

  • The Korean society is transforming into the intelligence information society rapidly during the 4th industrial revolution. But middle aged and elderly people are hard to access and accept these changes. So, the purpose of this study is to examine the Intelligence information society factors affects life satisfaction among the elderly by moderating effect of on/offline social capital. This study analyzed data of 2,303 people between the ages over 50 from the 2018 Digital Divide Survey conducted by the National Information Society Agency (NIA) using SPSS26.0. The result showed that sex, age, education, household type, Intelligence information society perception, expectation, anxiety are significantly effected life satisfaction. Also on/offline social capital had moderating effect between intelligence information society and life satisfaction. Based on the results of this study proviedes a basis for developing a success model for elderly people who accepts the intelligence information society. Also, this study identifies the implications and future studies are suggested.

Are Critical Success Factors of BI Systems Really Unique?

  • Business intelligence has been attracting much attention these days. Despite such popularity of BI systems, it is widely known that about a half of BI system projects have failed. To grasp why many BI projects end in failure and what factors would make BI projects less failure-prone, a number of BI studies were made to produce a variety of CSFs. However, there is a paucity of information on whether these CSFs are distinctive from those of typical information systems. By identifying how BI CSFs differ from CSFs of typical information systems, we would be able to explain why most BI projects are more likely to be failure. It is believed that a corrective measure about CSFs will lead to more success in future BI projects. In addition, though there have been a number of similar types of BI systems such as decision support systems and executive information systems in existence, there was no study to determine whether there is ever a discrimination between CSFs of BI systems and the similarly-titled systems. This study is to answer these questions using a literature review analysis. The findings of our study are expected to be helpful in a successful implementation of BI systems.

Q-learning 알고리즘이 성능 향상을 위한 CEE(CrossEntropyError)적용 (Applying CEE (CrossEntropyError) to improve performance of Q-Learning algorithm)

  • Recently, the Q-Learning algorithm, which is one kind of reinforcement learning, is mainly used to implement artificial intelligence system in combination with deep learning. Many research is going on to improve the performance of Q-Learning. Therefore, purpose of theory try to improve the performance of Q-Learning algorithm. This Theory apply Cross Entropy Error to the loss function of Q-Learning algorithm. Since the mean squared error used in Q-Learning is difficult to measure the exact error rate, the Cross Entropy Error, known to be highly accurate, is applied to the loss function. Experimental results show that the success rate of the Mean Squared Error used in the existing reinforcement learning was about 12% and the Cross Entropy Error used in the deep learning was about 36%. The success rate was shown.

Aqua-Aware: Underwater Optical Wirelesss Communication enabled Compact Sensor Node, Temperature and Pressure Monitoring for Small Moblie Platforms

  • This work demonstrates the design and evaluation of Aqua-Aware, a lightweight miniaturized light emitting diode (LED) based underwater compact sensor node which is used to obtain different characteristics of the underwater environment. Two optical sensor nodes have been designed, developed, and evaluated for a short and medium link range called as Aqua-Aware short range (AASR) and Aqua-Aware medium range (AAMR), respectively. The hardware and software implementation of proposed sensor node, algorithms, and trade-offs have been discussed in this paper. The underwater environment is emulated by introducing different turbulence effects such as air bubbles, waves and turbidity in a 4-m water tank. In clear water, the Aqua-Aware achieved a data rate of 0.2 Mbps at communication link up to 2-m. The Aqua-Aware was able to achieve 0.2 Mbps in a turbid water of 64 NTU in the presence of moderate water waves and air bubbles within the communication link range of 1.7-m. We have evaluated the luminous intensity, packet success rate and bit error rate performance of the proposed system obtained by varying the various medium characteristics.
