When excavation under existing structure is planned for a new construction project, the underpinning method is one of the most applicable construction methods. This study introduces a new modified underpinning method which is applied to construct a new subway line in Seoul Metropolitan. The new subway line was designed to pass underneath the existing subway line. Existing subway line carries about 2 million passengers daily, which is 33% of total passengers using subway in Seoul, and is the only circulation line in Seoul. Subway trains are passing 540 times through this section in a day. By applying a new underpinning method, the subway box structure of line is exposed 54m in the air supported by bearing piles. The proposed method was carefully monitored using heavy instrumentation system during construction. This study proposed and verified the application of the modified underpinning method, which can reduce construction period by 1.5 times and the construction cost by 1.2 times comparing with conventional method. The importance of considering construction sequence is investigated and verified by analyzed data non-considering construction sequence. The unexpected heaving which can bring up a dangerous situation for train running stability were measured, so this study shows that the upward movement has to be analyzed in designing process. As the use of underground space increases, the proposed method can be a good example of underground development.
It is required that the current state of system should be Precisely monitored for efficient and safe operation of the subway power system and it is an important Problem to secure the high quality data for state estimation. The current state of subway power system is estimated by using data transmitted to control center from every measuring instrument. The high accuracy and trust can be maintained if the measured data have a high quality. But it is difficult to estimate the accurate state of system because of the noises in transmitted data and the inaccuracy of measuring instruments. So the object is to reduce the difference between the real values and the measured values in order to improve considerably the inaccuracy due to Instrumental errors and transmission noises using the state estimation method. In this paper, we proposes a new state estimation to estimate the accurate state of the subway power system from the measured values of a Sang-In station in Daegu subway and consider the possibility of application to the real subway power system. on the basis of that. The simulation results show to make sure of the possibility to apply to the real system usefully.
It is necessary to predict subway induced vibration if a new subway is to be built. To obtain the vibration response reliably, a three-dimensional (3D) FEM model, consisting of the tunnel, the soil, the subway load and the building above, is established in MIDAS GTS NX. For this study, it is a six-story frame structure built above line 3 of Guangzhou metro. The entire modeling process is described in detail, including the simplification of the carriage load and the determination of model parameters. Vibration measurements have been performed on the site of the building and the model is verified with the collected data. The predicted and measured vibration response are used together to assess vibration level due to the subway traffic in the building. The No.1 building can meet work and residence comfort requirement. This study demonstrates the applicability of the numerical train-tunnel-soil-structure model for the serviceability assessment of subway induced vibration and aims to provide practical references for engineering applications.
PSD(platform screen door) was completely installed at all of Seoul subway station(line 1~8) using 640million people per day by 2010. After installation of PSD, the influence of train induced wind at platform decreased, but is estimated to increase in subway tunnel. In this paper, train induced wind occurred by pass of subway at platform was measured and analyzed using numerical analysis by computational fluid dynamics.
In this paper, an averaged constitutive model of concrete and reinforcing bars for RC structure and path-dependent Ohsaki's model for soil are applied, and an elasto-plastic interface model having thickness is preposed for seismic analysis of underground RC subway station structure. A finite element analysis technique is developed by applying aforementioned constitutive equations and verified through seismic analysis of underground RC subway station. Then, failure mechanisms of the RC subway station structure under seismic action are numerically derived. Then, failure modes and damage levels of the station are also analytically evaluated for the cases of several designs of the underground RC station.
In this study, a framework for web-based information system in VDN environment for safety and health monitoring in subway stations is suggested. Since physical variables that describing safety and health need to be closely monitored in multiple locations in subway stations, concept of distributed monitoring network using wireless media needs to be implemented. Connecting remote wireless sensor network and device (LonWorks) networks to the IP network based on the concept of VDN can provide a powerful, integrated and distributed monitoring performance, making a web-based information system possible.
By means of analyzing of monitoring technology and monitoring regulation based on maintenance monitoring system installed in subway tunnel section, it needs monitoring system, development of operating program, monitoring analyzing system and development of analysis method, establishment of maintenance monitoring standard specification, and performance of responsible monitoring supervision for applying to subway monitoring maintenance effectively in future. It requires specialized monitoring and legislation of monitoring subcontract, improvement of monitoring work contract method, establishment the standard payment of monitoring, and effective calibration and correction of monitoring system in the plan of improving monitoring regulation.
