  • In this paper, an interference analyzer for communication and/or broadcasting services is developed and presented based on Monte Carlo technique, which is now under study in the International Telecommunication Union(ITU). Monte Carlo technology is a statistical approach which functions by considering many trials. For each simulation trial, a scenario is built up using a number of different random variables, such as signal and interference strengths, transmitting and receiving antenna heights, antenna gains, etc.. Furthermore, this paper shows and application example of the analyzer to examine interference influence of the PCS(IS-95) base stations affecting to the IMT-2000 FDD base station, depending on serveral service environments like rural, suburban, and urban areas. The wave propagation model used in this simulation is the modified Hata model, which is known to the suitable to Korean environments.

시설원예의 적지평가모델 개발 -중요도 평가기법의 비교 고찰- (Development of the Evaluation Model of Location Suitability for Protected Horticulture - Comparative Study on Significance Determination Techniques -)

  • It is necessary to evaluate the location suitability of protected horticulture facilities to guide and/or to plan new protected horticulture facilities in rural areas. For objective and systematic evaluation of location suitability of protected horticulture, three different evaluation models were constructed based on grading, proportion, and analytic hierarchy process(AHP). The models were used to evaluated the suitability of protected horticulture in three selected regions; suburban, plain, and mountainous. The results showed that there were significant differences in evaluation results of each model among the three regions.

전원주택단지 계획에 관한 연구 (The Site Planning of Idyllic Housing Development)

  • The development of idyllic housings, is in increasing growth in the suburban areas of Seoul, presents some critical problems such as in sufficient common open space and poor living condition, which are mainly caused by disorderly designed. Through comparing planning indices of idyllic housing, this paper aims to diagnose the condition and causes of those problems and to present some basic issues on improvement direction. The causes of problems can be summarized as the blind point in regulation system, the shortness of planning elements of a housing block which includes road systems and public facilities, and the mismatch of housing type with density, on which includes road systems and public facilities, and the mismatch of housing type with density, on which hereafter improvement suggestion should be focused. And this study suggest the simulation models on an ideal idyllic housing to be applied in our forthcoming idyllic housing of Korea, which can indeed become a generalized alternative to the livable idyllic housing.

동절기 대구지역의 기상요소와 장파복사 특성 분석 (Characteristics of Meteorological Elements and Long-wave Radiation in the Greater Daegu Area During Winter)

  • Interpretation of relevance between long-wave radiation and meteorological elements is recognized as an essential element for understanding the underlying mechanism of urban thermal environment formation. In this study, we analyzed relation between three elements : long-wave radiation, temperature, and lower-middle class cloudiness. The correlation was analyzed through field observations. The results are as follows. (1) Temperatures and long-wave radiation increased from January to March. This phenomenon has been confirmed in urban and suburban areas. (2) Long-wave radiations showed a tendency to increase clearly with increasing cloudiness.

Comparison of antibiotic resistance profiles for Escherichia coli isolated from wild boar and domestic pig fecal samples

  • Increasing presence of wild boar around cities and suburban areas is a growing concern with respect to agronomy, environmental ecology, and public safety. In this study, antibiotic resistance profiles of Escherichia (E.) coli isolated from wild boar and domestic pig fecal samples were compared. Eighty E. coli samples were isolated from wild boars. Resistance of the bacteria to 14 common antimicrobial agents used in human and veterinary medicine was evaluated. Ninety-five E. coli isolates from domestic pig farms were used for comparison. Common and distinct antibiotic resistance patterns were observed when comparing wild boar and domestic pig isolates, indicating that wild boars may significantly influence environmental microbiology.

한국형 전원주택단지의 지속가능성 지표 개발에 관한 연구 (Development of Sustainability Indicators for Suburban Housing Estates in Korea Rural Areas)

  • Recently, new concept and paradigm of 'Environmental Sustainability' is taking a growing interest in environmental planning and design. This study is to establish the environmental sustainability principles, based on the concept of ESSD, and to develop the evaluation model of environmental sustainability for korean rural housing estates. A sustainability indices system, which is composed of 5 principles, 16 categories, an 37 estimation items, was finally established. Five principles of environmental sustainability for rural housing estate were. 'Sustainable Land Use', 'Interdependence of Men and Nature', 'Ecological Principles and Diversity', 'Efficient use of Energy and Recycling', and ' Minimizing Environmental Pollution'. And weighting values of each indicators, such as estimation items, categories, and principles, were estimated, based on the result of AHP etc. The questinnaire survey was conducted for experts of four related major fields. Finally, the validity and reliability of the sustainability indices system were verified.

In this study, as one of methodological approaches for objective and systematic evaluation of location suitability for protected horiculture, the evaluation model of location sutitability for protected horticulture was formulated using AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) as a base technique. The evaluation model was made in three different selected regions ; suburban, plain, and mountainous, The results showed that there were significant differences in evaluation model of location suitability for protected horticulture among three regions.

시설농업의 입지현황 및 특성 분석 (Assessment of Spatial Characteristics of Protected Cultivation Facilities)

  • It is neceesary to evaluate the location suitability of protected cultivation facilities to guide reasonable protected cultivation. The evaluation system could help plan new protected cultivation facilities in rural areas. In this study, an assessment was made for the facilities located in three different selected regions: suburban, plain, and mountainous. The assessment was performed based on spatial characteristics of protected cultivation facilities such as land category, size of protected cultivation facilities, land shape, stoniness, land consolidation level, soil drainage, land slope, topography, effective soil depth, zoning or not of agricultural development area, irrigation and drainage condition, distance from roads, and so forth. The results showed that there were significant differences in locational characteristics among the three regions.

농가 주거환경 평가 (Residents' Evaluation for Rural Housing Environment)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify factors related to residential satisfaction, and to examine the rural housing and village environment which enable to derive what should be considered in the future rural housing improvement. Data were collected by questionnaire survey in 11 rural villages - suburban rural area, plain rural area, intermediate rural area, mountainous rural area. The major findings are as follows: 1) The rural residents rather dissatisfied with'management/maintenance','economic value','facade'in housing level, The overall housing satisfaction level was just medium(neither satisfied nordissatisfied). 2) They also dissatisfied with'playground for children','education condition','medical facilities', 'market'in village level. The overa'll village satisfaction level was just above average(slightly satisfied). 3) Vrom the result of ANOVA test, there are no significant differences in residents evaluation for tiousing and village attributes among 4 rural areas. 4) Factor analysis identified six rural housing environmental factors:'inside utilities','housing size' 'aesthetic aspects','safety','privacy','outside utilities'. 5) For the rural village environments six important factors were derived :'public services','commercial convenience facilities','social interaction','environmental pollution','amenity','agricultural service facilities'.

수도권 열섬 중심으로부터 교외까지의 거리 및 국지적 지표특성이 야간 기온분포에 미치는 영향 (Impact of the Local Surface Characteristics and the Distance from the Center of Heat Island to Suburban Areas on the Night Temperature Distribution over the Seoul Metropolitan Area)

  • 서울과 주변을 포함하는 수도권에서 발생하는 열섬현상의 특성들을 정량적으로 이해하기 위하여 GIS 및 AWS 관측 자료들을 이용하여 여름과 겨울 야간 기온분포의 공간 경향 그래프를 작성하였다. 또한 기온 변동성에 영향을 미치는 요인들과 31개 AWS 지점들의 야간 평균기온과의 상관성을 분석을 하였다. 그 결과, 야간 평균기온(2004년~2011년) 최고지점과 최저지점의 차이는 여름 $4.5^{\circ}C$, 겨울 $7.1^{\circ}C$ 임을 확인하였다. AWS 지점들 주변의 국지적 지표특성과 기온과의 상관성 분석 결과, 지점별 야간 평균 기온과 반경 1km 이내의 인공피복의 상관계수가 여름(0.84)과 겨울(0.78) 모두에서 높게 나타나 지표면 피복이 중규모적인 도시 열환경 관리에 있어 다른 요인들보다 더 큰 영향을 주는 요인임을 확인하였다. 한편 수도권 야간기온에 대한 회귀모형을 변수선택법을 이용하여 개발한 결과 1km 규모에서 보다 200m 규모에서 상세한 지표특성 변수가 선택됨을 알 수 있었는데, 규모에 따른 모형의 설명력에는 큰 차이가 없었다. 따라서 200m 정도의 상세한 지표특성 자료를 이용하는 기후분석 모델의 구현이 가능함을 알 수 있었으며, 모델의 설명력은 1km 수준으로 분석하였을 때와 비슷한 수준인 57%(겨울)~72%(여름)이었다.
