차량 윈도우 리프트 음질 고급감 향상을 위한 음질 지수 제작 및 개선에의 응용 (The Development and Application of Sound Quality Index for the Improving Luxury Sound Quality of Road Vehicle Power Window System)

  • With the increasing the importance of emotional quality of vehicle, the sound quality of systems with electric motor components has become increasingly important. Electric motors are used for windows, seats, sun roof, mirrors, steering columns, windshield wiper and climate control blowers, etc. In this paper, a study was conducted to identify sound quality factors that contribute to customer's satisfaction and preference of the window lift system. Jury test for subjective evaluation was carried out and sound quality index was developed. Averaged sound pressure level and sharpness were significant factors when glass moves down. Also, maximum loudness at stop section and averaged loudness were significant factor when glass moves up. Next, noise source identification was carried out using beam forming method during glass transferred section and impulsive noise at stop section. Several improvement methods were applied using the source identification result. And finally, the degree of sound quality improvement was judged using sound quality index.

  • This paper presents the psychoacoustic analyses on the vehicle interior, noise generated when accelerating. Following the objective quantification for vehicle noises of different classes, the subjective decision process by the jury test is adopted to interrelate these results based on two different approaches. In particular, the paired comparison method is employed in assessing the sound quality in terms of the quietness, the powerfulness, and the pleasantness of the human auditory sensation. Special attention is paid to the physical interpretation of psychoacoutic parameters and their interrelation to the subjective assessment scores. In order to ensure the integrity of statistics of the survey, various tests are performed. The results show that the consistency of the "quiet" sensation is far higher than that of the "powerful" and the "pleasant" sensations. Also, it is found that the most significant parameter determining these feelings turns out to be the inherent loudness of the noise instead of the conventional indicators such as the weighted sound pressure level. It may be concluded that the psychoacoustic analysis offers more realistic evaluation for vehicle noise and assists the improvement of NVH more efficiently.ement of NVH more efficiently.

지게차의 주관적 음질평가와 Zwicker 음질지수의 상관관계 및 전달경로분석법(OTPA)을 활용한 음질 기여도 분석 (A Study on Contribution Analysis using Operational Transfer Path Analysis based on the Correlation between Subjective Evaluation and Zwicker's Sound Quality Index for Sound Quality of Forklifts)

  • Recently, drivers have begun to regard comfort in the cabin as one of the most important factors in construction equipment like forklifts. Accordingly, it has become more important to design a forklift cabin with a better sound quality as well as lower sound level, which can make a driver more comfortable. In this paper, the correlation between subjective evaluation and Zwicker's sound quality index was analyzed through a blind test by a few workers in forklifts and other construction equipment in several countries. Correlation analysis showed that Loudness and Sharpness were ranked in sequence, and tendencies were different from country to country. Also, contribution analysis for Loudness and Sharpness using operational transfer path analysis (OTPA), which is widely used in the field of noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH), was performed. However, Loudness and Sharpness cannot be used with OTPA directly because there are no linear relationships between the sources and receivers. In this paper, both are calculated by applying the DIN 45631 method with a contribution rate (%) of 1/3 Octave Sound Pressure Level by OTPA method in addition to considering spectral masking.

승용차의 고급감 음질에 대한 연구 (Research for High Sound Quality for a Passenger Car)

  • Future luxury car must satisfy the improvement of the luxury sound quality on the vehicle interior noise. Previously, we have analyzed vehicle interior noise by dB(A) based analysis. However, dB(A) has very little to do with the psychological satisfaction of the consumers. People want a sound that is characteristic and refined not a sound that is quiet and common. Subjective test were conducted to determine the relationship between subject' s responses and calculated metric values. People choose the most luxury sound among the various vehicle interior noise. And the purpose of this study is that we understand the metrics which constitute the luxury vehicle sound. We have analyzed vehicle interior noise by using the statistical analysis such as multiple regression method and correlation method. And we organized the index of the luxury sound quality.

쯔비커의 음질 파라메터를 이용한 환상교향곡 표제성의 심리음향학적 분석 (Psycho-acoustical analysis of program feature of Symphonie Fantastique using Zwicker's sound quality parameters)

  • 본 논문에서는 심리음향학적 연구 방법론을 음악의 작품 분석에 적용하여 음악의 매개체인 소리에 내재된 주관성을 객관화하고자 한다. 먼저, 대표적인 표제음악인 베를리오즈의 '환상교향곡'에서 18개의 샘플음원을 추출한 다음 쯔비커의 음질 파라메터(Loudness, Sharpness, Roughness, Fluctuation Strength)를 이용해서 샘플음원의 객관적 음질을 평가하였다. 주관적 음질 평가를 위하여 환상교향곡의 표제성을 기초로 9개의 대표 음질형용사를 추출한 다음 수치등급평가법과 쌍대비교법을 사용하여 1차 청음평가를 수행하였다. 1차 청음평가결과의 요인분석법을 통하여 "밝은", "시끄러운", "현실적인"의 세 가지 음질을 추출하였다. 세 가지 음질 형용사를 사용하여 2차 청음평가를 수행하고 그 결과를 객관적 음질 파라메터와 상관분석을 수행하여 음질지표를 개발하였다.

  • The reduction of the vehicle interior noise has been the main interest of noise and vibration harshness (NVH) engineers. The driver's perception on the vehicle noise is affected largely by psychoacoustic characteristic of the noise as well as the SPL. In particular, the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system sound among the vehicle interior noise has been reflected sensitively in psychoacoustics view point. Even though the HVAC noise is not louder than overall noise level, it clearly affects subjective perception to drivers in the way of making to be nervous or annoyed. Therefore, these days a vehicle engineer takes aim at developing sound quality as well as reduction of noise. In this paper, we acquired noises in the HVAC from many vehicles. Through the objective and subjective sound quality (SQ) evaluation with acquiring noises recorded by the vehicle HVAC system, the simple and multiple regression models were obtained for the subjective evaluation 'Pleasant' using the semantic differential method (SDM). The regression procedure also allows you to produce diagnostic statistics to evaluate the regression estimates including appropriation and accuracy. Furthermore, the neural network (NN) model were obtained using three inputs(loudness, sharpness and roughness) of the SQ metrics and one output(subjective 'Pleasant'). Because human's perception is very complex and hard to estimate their pattern, we used NN model. The estimated models were compared with correlations between output indexes of SQ and hearing test results for verification data 'Pleasant'. As a result of application of the SQ indexes, the NN model was shown with the largest correlation of SQ indexes and we found possibilities to predict the SQ metrics.

  • This paper describes an investigative study for Wind Noise of Passenger Cars. Using statistical method of analyzing jury preference data, we extract important sound quality metrics for subjective feeling and also md important frequency band. It will be helpful for development of wind Noise improvement.

  • In most vehicle manufactures have traditionally relied on find-fix method of human auditor, mainly due to variation excitation source. To solve the BSR noise, the requirements for BSR test are presented in terms of detection of noise source, analysis of time-frequency and sound pressure, sound quality for noise. A number of new technology direction, particularly in the field of noise source identification application and psycho-acoustics from the Zwicker's sound quality parameter, the computed objective sound metrics and subjective jury test result.

  • Until now, product mostly has revealed physical quantities created by the standpoint of engineers. Consumers, however, perceive and evaluate products on the non-physical characteristics, such as feelings, emotions, and experiences in different social and cultural situations. Especially, for the household appliances such as a refrigerator, the sound is heavily related to the satisfaction of a customer who is a real user of the product and is very important factor to decide purchasing as well as visual design. Therefore, in this research, not only the simple sound pressure level but also the consumer's sense of hearing evaluate the noise from the refrigerator. And also, in order to improve the quality of sound through the design change, the consumer's evaluation is analyzed and related to the engineering quantities.

크로스토크 제거를 통한 입체 음향 구현에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Implementation of Realistic Sound Through Cross-Talk Cancellation)

  • 5.1채널 스피커 시스템을 이용하여 음향을 재현 시 나타나는 현상인 크로스토크를 제거하여 청취자에게 보다 입체적인 음을 재현하는 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 논문에서는 자유음장 모델에 기초하여 5.1채널 스피커 시스템의 보상함수를 해석, 이를 심리음향에 기초한 바크 스케일(bark scale) 등가 보상 밴드패스 필터에 적용하여 주파수 제한적인 음질 보상을 실시하였다. 정면 채널과 서라운드 채널의 음원을 제작하여 기존의 2채널 및 5.1 시스템에서 제시하는 음원과 비교하여 객관적인 음질평가 및 청취자를 대상으로 한 주관 평가를 실시하였다. 제안된 방법에 따라 측정한 결과에 따르면 ±30。의 정면 스피커를 배치한 돌비 표준 스피커 배치에서 38㏈ 이상의 분리도를 얻었으며 확산감에 대해 전문가를 대상으로 한 주관 평가는 5점 평가를 기준으로 0.4점이 향상되었다.
