  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to explore the factors that influence aerobic physical activity among Korean adults, including sociodemographic characteristics, health behavior, health status, social relationships, community satisfaction, and to find ways to increase aerobic physical activity among adults. Methods: In 2019, 191,152 adults in the Community Health Survey were analyzed, and complex sample frequency analysis, Rao-Scott test and complex sample logistic regression analysis were conducted by dividing them into the presence or absence of aerobic physical activity practice. Results: The rate of aerobic physical activity among adults was 36.0%, and males were higher than females. Among individual factors, gender, age, income level, smoking, drinking, weight control attempt, frequency of breakfast, obesity, quality of life, and subjective health status were factors that had a significant effect. Among social relationship factors, leisure activities and contact with neighbors at least once a week were significant factors, and only overall safety level satisfaction was a factor that had a significant effect on physical activity practice in community satisfaction factors. Conclusion: Programs focused on personal factors, social relationships, and networks should be strategically developed to improve the participation rate of adult aerobic physical activities, indicating the importance of these factors over community infrastructure. To development of community-centered professional integrated health education will be necessary in the future.

  • Objective : Subjective tinnitus is defined as an acoustic sensation perceived without any external source. Patients with tinnitus have often experienced psychological distress and low quality of life. However, the connection between psychiatric characteristics and tinnitus has not yet been established. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship of psychiatric characteristics with tinnitus severity. Method : A total of 124 patients with tinnitus were included in the study. Demographic and clinical characteristics were retrospectively collected in the otolaryngology clinic. The self-reported scales including the Tinnitus Handicap Inventory, the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale and the Anxiety Sensitivity Index were used in this study. Results : The Pearson product moment correlation revealed significant correlations between tinnitus severity and psychiatric characteristics including depression (r=0.26, p<0.01), anxiety (r=0.38, p<0.01), anxiety sensitivity (r=0.27, p<0.01). After controlling for age, sex and awareness of tinnitus, tinnitus severity was positively correlated with anxiety (partial r=0.39, p<0.01) and anxiety sensitivity (partial r=0.28, p<0.01). These correlations remained significant in male but not in female patients. Conclusion : Results of the present study indicated that not only anxiety symptoms but also anxiety sensitivity could relate to tinnitus severity. Our findings have implications for the understanding of the psychiatric characteristics in patients with tinnitus.

  • With the increasing demand for improving the quality of life of the people, the need for resident-friendly use and management of rivers is increasing. This study develops an indicator that can measure the performance of the multi-faceted function of the river that the general population can appraise, and in particular, the subjective satisfaction of residents. Based on related prior studies and case analysis, a draft indicator system covering maintenance of river facilities for flood control, water use, environment protection, and water-friendly use functions was established. Through a factor analysis adopting PCA extraction method and VARIMAX rotation method and survey, a performance indicator system consisting of three areas, six detailed areas, and 24 items is drawn. Also, the developed indicators are applied to national and local rivers in Daejeon to suggest implications through comparative analysis.

  • This paper aims at three dimensional simulation and quantitative analysis fer city height planning using digital photogrammetry and GIS. Land view has been neglected while the cities in Korea have been developed rapidly and quantitatively It is, however recognized that Land viewscape is an important factor to achieve a high quality of life. Land viewing is shape and subjective, which makes quantitative and objective analysis of urban viewscape not easy. In this study, a spatial database was constructed by aerial color photographing and digital photogrammetry. The analysis of photographic image were performed using 3-D simulation. Numerical and quantitative analysis for the height planning of building was carried out by producing the vertical profiles of existing buildings and terrain at sight lines. As the result of this study, it was found that the hight planning in a city could be made quantitatively and objectively using 3-D viewscape analysis.

  • The purpose of this study was to review literature about private health insurance (PHI) schemes for Korean older adults published in Korea and abroad from 2015 to 2019, and to present the implications of the study and provide an overview of PHI utilization by Korean older adults. Nineteen quantitative academic research papers were selected and analyzed with respect to presentation time, research purpose, data source, and study design. Old age, low income, low education, and chronic disease were found to hinder enrollment in PHI schemes. Although the relationship between PHI and medical usage was not consistent, it was positively related to health outcomes such as subjective health status and health-related quality of life. Therefore, for PHI to fulfill the role of providing supplementary medical care for older adults with high medical demands, a national improvement policy should be developed to address the barriers that prevent older adults adopting PHI schemes, and empirical studies related to medical usages by and the health outcomes of older adults should be conducted in order to generate a basis for the use of PHI.

  • Recently, as digital transformation due to the COVID-19 pandemic accelerates, data to improve individual quality of life is being used in large quantities, and more reinforced non-identification processing procedures are required to utilize the most valuable personal information among data. In Korea, procedures for de-identification measures are presented through amendments to laws and guidelines, but there is no methodology to measure the level of de-identification in the field due to ambiguous processing standards and subjective risk measurement methods. This paper compares and analyzes the current status of policy and guidelines related to de-identification measures proposed at home and abroad to derive complementary points, suggests a data context-based risk measurement method centered on pseudonymized information processing, and verifies its validity. As a result of verification through Delphi survey and focus group interview (FGI), it was confirmed that the need for the proposed methodology and the validity of the indicators were high.

  • Today modern people have been searching on managing themselves in easy ways without side-effects to lead a healthy and quality life, accordingly concerns about complementary and alternative medicine have been increasing. The scientific term' complementary and alternative medicine' has been originally used in the US and has become the general term for natural treatment of medical methods, which can be suggested as an alternative solution to modern medical problems. There should be a study based on users' subjectivity to reinvigorate complementary and alternative medicine more than it does now. The purpose of this study is to offer basic materials when assessing practical applications on complementary and alternative medicine using the Q method which is subjective pattern analysis, help understand features of complementary and alternative therapy according to patterns, and find out preferences for patterns of complementary and alternative therapy. As a result patterns of complementary and alternative medicine were classified into three types. Firstly, type I prefers to biological/herbal treatment. Secondly, type II prefers to mixed treatments. Thirdly, type III prefers to manual healing.
