지리교과를 통한 시민성 교육의 내재적 정당화 (Intrinsic Justification of Citizenship Education through Geography Subject)

  • 본 연구는 지리교과를 통한 시민성 교육의 가능성을 탐색하기 위한 것으로서 '시민성'과 '시민성의 공간' 에 대한 내재적 정당화에 관한 논의이다. Peters의 지식의 형식과 입문으로서의 교육관에 따라 지리적 지식의 형식을 검토하여 시민성을 내재적으로 정당화하였다. 지리학은 탈실증주의 패러다임의 언어와 이데올로기의 도입을 통해 기존의 '공간' 중심에서 '인간'과 '사회'에 더욱 관심을 가지는 방향으로 나아가고 있는데 이는 다름아닌 시민성의 공간으로의 전환을 의미한다. 즉, 사회공간이론을 통해 가치중립적인 물리적 공간 개념을 거부하고, 가치내재적인 '시민성의 공간'으로 전환을 모색하고 있다. 이러한 지리적 지식의 형식의 변화가 지리교과의 내용지식의 변화를 주도한다고 볼 때, 시민성은 내재적으로 정당화될 수 있다. 이와 같이 지리교과의 내용지식으로서의 시민성은 사회과 교육목적을 그대로 수용하는 외재적 정당화가 아니라, 지리적 지식의 형식을 통해 내재적으로 정당화될 때 의미를 지닌다. 그리고 시민성 공간에 토대한 시민성이라는 가치와 신념으로의 입문으로서의 지리교육은 학생들로 하여금 어떤 목적지에 도달하도록 하는 것이 아니라, 다른 관점을 가지고 나아가도록 해야 한다는 것을 의미한다.

도메인 분석(domain analysis)에 관한 이론적 고찰 (Theoretical Study on Domain Analysis)

  • 이 연구에서는 도메인분석에 대해서 이론적으로 고찰함으로써 문헌정보학적 관점에서의 지식이론과 문헌정보학의 이론적 틀을 제시함과 동시에 문헌정보학의 연구방법론에 일반원칙을 제시하였다. 도메인분석에서 핵심적인 개념은 도메인을 구성하는 주제지식과 그 지식을 공유하는 담론 커뮤니티라고 할 수 있다. 따라서 도메인의 정의를 제시하고 도메인을 존재론적. 인식론적. 사회학적 차원에서 살펴보았으며, 도메인분석에서 이용할 수 있는 11가지 연구방법을 제시하였다. 그리고 도메인분석이 문헌정보학에서 가지는 함의를 사회-인지적 관점과 실용적 사실주의의 입장에서 검토하였다.

Subject Approach to Information Retrieval with Special Reference to Bengali Documents: A Critical Study

  • The library provides its services to satisfy the user's approach. Naturally, the development of library services may determine by considering the satisfaction of users. It traces users' perceptions regarding subject access highlighting problems in the retrieval of Bengali documents by subject. This study has designed to assess users' attitudes towards the retrievals of Bengali documents in OPAC through subject headings. For a collection of data, a representative sample has drawn from a large and heterogeneous population consisting of users in university libraries of West Bengal using a stratified sampling technique. Subsequently, under each of the universities, users' community was stratified into students, research scholars, and faculty members. Under each stratum, the sample selected on a random basis. The users met personally to collect relevant data, while they came to the library and went on to search OPAC. A structured schedule, prepared for the purpose, was presented before library users and consequently, interviews and interpretations recorded systematically. In this manner, several factors have identified concerning subject searching and retrieval performance for Bengali documents. This study explores the access using subject headings in multilingual information retrieval systems. Moreover, the suitability of subject headings for retrieval of Bengali resources has ascertained from the users' point of view. The findings demand standard principles and rules for the construction of Bengali subject headings to maintain uniformity and consistency.

수학적 인식에서 '활동'이 갖는 의미에 대한 고찰 (On the Meaning of 'Activity' in Mathematical Cognition)

  • In this study, I consider the meaning of activity as the source of mathematical knowledge. Mind-body dualism of Descartes which understands that knowledge precedes activity is somewhat overcomed by Ryle who understands that knowledge and activity are two sides of the same coin. But his discussion cannot offer the explanation about the foundation of rightness or the development of rules which can be expressed propriety of activity or rationality. Contrary to these views, Piaget solve this problem by the reasonability of 'the whole system of activity'. The theory of Dewey can be evaluated as an origin of activism of Piaget. Piaget considers knowledge as the system of activity itself, whereas Dewey considers knowledge as 'the result of activity'. This view of Dewey is related to the view of pragmatism which considers 'practice' is more important than 'theory'. The nature of 'activity' in this study has to be understanded as the interaction or the relation between the subject and the object. If we understand activity like this, we can explain that the whole structure of activity has the 'wholeness' that cannot be simply restored to the sum total of 'parts' and the new structure is a self-regulative transformation system which includes former structure continuously.

  • In this paper, we study the subject-matter knowledge related to the problem about rational exponent with negative bases. From the school mathematics point of view, we first investigate the meaning of the extensions of the number systems. We analyze the intrinsic meaning involved in the (-8)$^{1}$ 3) through the natural interpretation of rational exponent with negative bases by the complex number. we explain why it is important for a teacher to have the subject-matter knowledge in order to detect and correct student\`s mistake and misunderstanding.

  • The main propulsion system may be the most complicated of the shipboard systems. Many factors such as fuel economy, weight, space, first cost, reliability, vibration and noise must be considered when selecting the prime mover of the main propulsion system for ships. An expert system is a computer program that represents and reasons with knowledge of some specialist subject with a view to solving problems or giving advice. Recently, it is being developed increasingly with wider applications in many industries. This paper describes development of knowledge-based system for main engine selection of ships using general purpose expert system development tool, Nexpert Object. Developed system is consist of ship performance estimation module such as resistance and propulsion, data base for main engine, knowledge base for main engine selection in Nexpert Object and graphic user interface.

중.고등학교 교육과정에서 환경 교과목 선택에 교장선생님과 관련된 요인 연구 (Effects of Principal Relating Factors on the Choice of the Subject of Environmental Education in Curriculum of Middle and High School)

  • The purpose of this study were the effects of principal related factors on the choice of the subject of environmental education in curriculum of middle and high school. We select 495 middle and high schools from 3 district of Chungbuk, Daejeon and Incheon. And, we send the questionnaires to the principals and withrowed answer questionnaire of 313(63.2%) from them. From the analysis of questionnaire, we obtained the reliability coefficient cronbach alpha value(0.8684). The results of this research as fallows : the principal factors that had chosen the subject of environmental education have significantly higher knowledge, recognition, attitude and practice than that not choiced on the subject of environmental education(p=0.000). The correlation between principal's attitude on the choice of the subject of environmental education and choice state of school was significantly higher than the other factors, and it's correlation coefficient was 0.328(p<0.01). Principal's attitude factor on the choice of the subject of environmental education have a great influence on his practice factor of them, and standard regression coefficient was 0.642(p<0.001). We found that principal's attitude factor on the choice of the subject of environmental education to have a great influence on the choice state of school in view of the results so far achieved.

과학교사들의 과학의 본성에 관한 관점 조사 (A Study on Korean Science Teachers' Points of View on Nature of Science)

  • Recent literature in science education has emphasized nature of science in science teaching. The theme has been considered to be an important element for scientific literacy.The purpose of this study was to identify Korean science teachers' points of view on topics related to nature of science, such as definition of science, characteristics of scientific hypotheses, scientific theories and scientific laws, and their construction, scientists, and scientific methods. The relevant 13 items were selected from Views on Science-Technology-Society (VOSTS) by the authors for this study. Most teachers perceived science as an exploratory process or problem solving. Some perceived science as an application of knowledge to make this world a better place to live in. Teachers viewed scientific activities as scholastic and individualistic instead of pragmatic or collective. They did not hold clear understandings of the idea that scientific knowledge is subject to change. As identified in previous studies, teachers thought that scientific ideas develop from hypothesis to theories, and finally to scientific laws. They did not show sound understanding of inventiveness of scientific hypotheses and theories, nor discovery of scientific laws. In summary, teachers' major points of view reflected 'realism'. It suggested that they needed to understand nature of science in the ways which it has been described in recent literature of science education, in order to teach science with personal and social contexts.

과학영재성, 성별, 과목 선호도에 따른 과학학습에 대한 개념의 차이 (Differences in Conception of Science Learning in Accordance with the Science-giftedness, Gender and Subject Preference)

  • 과학영재 학생의 과학학습에 대한 개념을 알아보기 위해 COLS와 ALS 설문지를 이용하여 비교, 분석하였다. 과학영재 학생은 일반 학생과 과학학습에 대한 개념에 차이를 보이는데, 과학영재 학생은 과학학습을 과학 지식을 얻고, 과학 지식 구조를 확장해 나가고, 세상을 보는 새로운 관점을 얻는 활동이라고 인식한다. 과학영재 학생은 성별과 과목 선호도에 따라 과학학습에 대한 인식 및 접근방법에 의미 있는 차이는 보이지 않았다. 이 연구의 결과는 과학영재 수업을 위한 교재와 교수법에 도움이 될 것으로 예상한다.

주제전문지식이 적합성판정의 일관성에 미치는 영향에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Effect of Domain Expertise on the Consistency of Relevance Judgements)

  • 본 논문은 주제분야 전문지식이 적합성 판단에 미치는 영향을 온라인 실험을 통해 살펴보고 주제분야 전문지식이 적합성개념의 기반이 될 수 있는 지를 검증해 보려고 하였다. 문헌정보학 전문가 6명, 문헌정보학 석사과정 학생 9명, 비전문가 12명이 실험에 참여해 문헌정보학 분야에 대한 14개 논문초록과 문헌정보학 영역 이외 14개 논문초록의 적합성을 판정을 실시하였다. 적합성 판단의 일관성은 공동 확률 일치성(Joint-Probability Agreement, PA)과 IBM SPSS의 클래스간 상관관계 계수(Interclass Correlation Coefficient, ICC)를 통해 산출되었다. PA를 사용한 경우, 비전문가는 과제나 그룹 구분에 상관없이 높은 일관성이 보였다. ICC 계산에 따르면, 문헌정보학 전문가들과 비교하였을 때, 문헌정보학 석사과정학생들은 비전문가들보다 높은 수준의 일관성을 가지고 있다는 것으로 나타났다. 2개 그룹(석사 및 박사를 통합으로 하는 전문가그룹과 비전문가)으로 구분하였을 때는 문헌정보학분야 과제에서 예상대로 전문가들이 더 높은 수준의 일관성을 보이는 경향을 볼 수 있었다.
