간호학생의 임상실습 중 간호활동 경험 정도 (A Study on the Clinical Practice Experiences on Nursing Activities of Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the clinical practice experiences of nursing students who completed the courses of nursing curricula in college. Method: The data was collected using a questionnaire with 191 task elements in 8 nursing standards specified by the Korean Nurses Association(2003), from December 2004 to January 2005. Three hundred thirty-three nursing students from five three-year and five four-year colleges of nursing were selected for respondents. Result: The nursing activities which over 70% of the students had performance experiences with were 23 items(12.04%) practiced frequently in clinical settings, simple, low in malpractice risk and noninvasive in characteristic. In addition, the nursing activities which under 30% of students had performance experiences with were 87 items(45.55%). The nursing activities which over 70% of students had only observation experiences with were 20 items(10.47%). Also, the nursing activities that over 30% of students didn't have any experiences with were 19 items(9.95%) not frequently seen in the clinical setting. Conclusion: It is concluded that the students are not fully qualified as the new nurses of the future. Therefore, every effort to develop a more effective clinical nursing education in school, clinical settings and in students themselves is needed.

6년제 약학대학에서의 필수실무실습 현황과 평가 - 병원약국실무실습 중심으로 - (Construction and Evaluation of the Student Practice Program in the Hospital under the 6-year College of Pharmacy Curriculum)

  • Background: 6-year College of Pharmacy curriculum had started in Korea, and the students in college of pharmacy are supposed to have student practice in the hospital pharmacy, community pharmacy, pharmaceutical company and administration to experience the role of pharmacists in advance. However, despite Korean Association of Pharmacy Education provided its own teaching plan, most Pharmacy Schools and the hospital pharmacy have difficulty in performing the desirable student practice program because they seldom experienced it. So, we reported the student practice program in the hospital pharmacy conducted by Yonsei University College of Pharmacy prior to the other numerous universities and the evaluation of survey on the student pharmacy practice program. Method: Severance Hospital, Gangnam Severance Hospital and National Health Insurance Service Ilsan Hospital took part in the student pharmacy practice program of Yonsei University. Students took 8-week pharmacy practice in Severance Hospital or Gangnam Severance Hospital plus 4-week pharmacy practice in National Health Insurance Service Ilsan Hospital. Also, students had once-a-week presentation class at school. A survey was conducted to evaluate the student practice program. Results: The presentation class was considerably helpful to share their own experiences at different practice sites in different hospitals, but there were some disadvantages that students could not experience the specific pharmacy practice site on the day of once-a-week presentation at school and so on. The results of the survey on the student practice program reported that students were satisfied with the overall practice program and presentation class at school. Also, they answered that the student practice program in the hospital pharmacy was significantly helpful for planning of the future career. Conclusion: Through the performance of the student practice program in Yonsei University, the adjustment of the student practice program in the hospital is planned to provide better experience of practice to the students and the results will be helpful for the student practice in the hospital of the other colleges of pharmacy.

모국에 자녀를 둔 기혼 여자유학생의 자녀교육 경험에 관한 연구 (A study on the child education experiences of married female students who left their children in their home countries for study abroad)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 모국에 자녀를 둔 여자 유학생의 자녀교육경험을 탐색하는 것이다. 이를 위해 설정된 연구문제 첫째, 기혼 여자유학생의 유학생활에 모국의 자녀는 어떤 의미를 부여하는가? 둘째, 모국에 있는 자녀교육은 어떤 방식으로 이루어지는가? 이다. 연구는 2016년 3월부터 2016년 5월까지 모국에 자녀들 두고 한국으로 유학 온 기혼 여자 유학생 6명을 대상으로 심층인터뷰를 하여 이들의 사례를 분석하였다. 분석결과 유학생활에서 자녀의 의미는 첫째, 기혼 여자유학생에게 자녀는 모든 생활에서 가장 우선에 두었다. 둘째, 자녀들은 유학생활에 여러가지 동인을 제공하였다. 셋째, 유학생활에서 자녀들은 모든 생활에 모범적이게 하였다. 또한 모국에 있는 자녀교육은 첫째, 모국에서 양육하는 사람에게 일임하였으나 자녀을 위해 내려야하는 큰 결정은 자신이 해주었다. 둘째, 항상 자녀에게 관심을 가지고 있으며 SNS를 통하여 수시로 자녀의 모든 것을 확인하고 있었다. 셋째, 자녀에게 미안한 마음에 자녀의 의견을 적극 반영하였다. 이러한 연구를 통하여 기혼 여자 유학생들의 학교생활에 고충을 덜어주고 유학생활을 잘 마칠 수 있는 자료가 되길 기대한다.

학사경고를 받은 대학생에 대한 내러티브 연구적 접근 (A Narrative Study within the Experiences of University Students Who were Placed Under Academic Probation)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 학사경고를 받은 대학생이 학업에 대한 내적 자기 동기화가 이루어지는 과정을 파악해 보고자 함이다. 질적 연구방법 중 내러티브 연구방법을 적용하여 내면적 사고의 흐름을 추적해보고자 하였으며, 심층인터뷰를 통해 수집된 자료는 Burke의 내러티브 분서방법을 통해 분석하였다. 학습 환경이 변화되는 시점인 대학입학 전 후를 기점으로 자아의 변화과정을 4가지 주제로 도출하였다: '만들어진 우수한 아이', '우수한 아이 코스프레', '부족한 자아와의 만남', '독립된 실체와의 만남'. 위의 4가지 주제는 학사경고라는 사건을 극복해 가고자 하는 인간내면에 존재하는 강인한 독립적 탄성이 형성되어가는 과정을 단계적으로 제시해주고 있다. 이를 토대로 대학차원의 학습지원 프로그램의 개발에 있어서 내면적 자기 동기화 능력을 강화시켜줄 수 있는 소프트적인 내용과 기존의 학습지원방법이 병행된 프로그램의 개발이 필요하리라 본다.

초등 예비교사들의 온실효과 관련 핵심 개념들에 대한 이해 (Preservice Elementary Teachers' Understandings of the Key Concepts related to the Greenhouse Effect)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate elementary student teachers' conceptions about the mechanism of the greenhouse effect, the greenhouse gases, the global warming, and their learning experiences of the greenhouse effect and the global warming. Participants were 82 student teachers in their second year of studies (science education: n=28, not science education: n=27) and in their fourth year of studies (science education: n=27). The open-ended questionnaire was used to examine the teachers' spontaneous ideas depicted by their drawings and/or writings. The results of this study are as follows: First, the student teachers' scientific response rate about key concepts related to the mechanism of the greenhouse effect was low (6.1%~28.0%); Second, although there are various greenhouse gases, it was only carbon dioxide that the student teacher's response rate was more than 80%; Third, only 17.1% of the student teachers clearly distinguished the greenhouse effect and the global warming; Fourth, there was a tendency that the student teacher group in the fourth year of studies and science education showed higher scientific response rate about the concepts than the other two groups.

Featured Student Profiles: An Instructional Blogging Strategy to Promote Student Interactions in Online Courses

  • Although blogs have been used in online learning environments with optimistic expectations, the distributed nature of blogs can pose some challenges. Currently, we do not have a robust collection of tested blogging strategies to help students interact more effectively with each other when blogs are used as a primary form of engagement in an online class. Thus, the purpose of the study was to test an early iteration of an instructional blogging strategy, "Featured Student Profiles," which is designed to help students become acquainted with each other better and encourage them to visit and comment on each other's blogs. Sixteen pre-service teachers who were enrolled in an online course in which student blogs are the primary medium of peer interactions, participated in the study. Using a design case approach, seven students participated in interviews and all student blog interactions were analyzed. Thematic analysis was applied to analyze the interview data and identify salient themes of students' blogging experiences overall under the study strategy. The findings indicated that students took the most direct and efficient path they experienced to complete the blog task. Their peer interaction patterns varied, but several shifted from random to targeted relationships as the semester progressed. Although all students perceived the strategy as a positive approach to peer awareness, there was no clear evidence of its effect on student interactions.

청각장애대학생의 장애학생지원센터 이용경험에 관한 사례연구 (A Case Study on Experiences of Using Support Center for Student with Disabilities by the Deaf College Students)

  • 본 연구는 청각장애대학생의 장애학생지원센터 이용경험을 탐색하는 사례연구이다. 연구참여자는 유의표집으로 핵심사례(key case) 2사례와 특이사례(outliner) 1사례를 선정하여 심층인터뷰한 후 사례내 분석과 사례간 분석을 실시했다. 분석결과 교수학습영역(4개 주제), 시설 설비영역(3개 주제), 대학생활영역(4개 주제)에서 총 11개의 주제가 도출되었다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 다음과 같은 임상적 정책적 학문적 제언을 한다. 첫째, 교육복지현장에서 장애학생지원센터 직원의 장애민감성 향상과 처우개선, 그리고 원격지원 가능한 대학과 MOU체결로 교수학습환경을 보완하고 제한된 예산에 대한 문제를 해소한다. 둘째, 대학내 장애학생에게 행해지는 관습적 차별 해소를 위한 학교문화조성이 필요하다. 나아가 한정된 예산과 변화하는 학습환경에서 청각장애학생의 학습권 보장을 위한 ICT와 IoT기술을 접목하는 교수학습법 개발연구가 더해져야 할 것이다.

산업간호사의 학생실습지도 경험 (Occupational Health Nurses' Experience in Occupational Health Nursing Practice Education)

  • 본 연구는 산업간호실습을 지도한 산업간호사들의 특수한 경험을 탐색하여 현상을 깊이 있게 이해하기 위해 시도되었다. 참여자는 한 학기 이상 산업간호실습을 지도한 경험이 있는 8명의 산업간호사였다. 포커스 그룹으로 수집된 자료를 현상학적 방법으로 분석하였다. 분석 결과 산업간호사의 학생실습지도 경험은 4개의 범주, 13개의 주제모음, 27개의 주제로 도출되었다. 4개의 범주는 '자신의 경험에서 시작한 학생실습지도', '어려움 속에서도 학생실습을 진행함', '보람을 느낌', '대안의 제시'였다. 산업간호사의 학생실습지도에 있어서의 주요한 경험에 대한 이해는 산업간호실습 교과목 특성에 맞는 실습규정의 수립 등 산업간호실습 교육과정을 개선 또는 개발하는데 참고자료로 활용할 수 있을 것이다. 향후 산업간호실습을 경험한 간호대학생에 대한 질적 연구가 이루어진다면 산업간호실습 교육과정 개선을 위한 좀 더 풍부한 자료를 제공할 수 있을 것이다.

잠재프로파일 분석을 이용한 대학생활 만족유형 분류 및 영향요인 분석 (Analysis of Student's Satisfaction Types of the Campus-Life and Affecting Factors using Latent Profile Analysis)

  • 본 연구는 대학생의 대학생활 만족유형을 분류하고 그 영향요인을 분석하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 도지역 소재한 A 국립대학 재학생을 대상으로 매년 실시되는 대학생활 및 교육경험 실태조사 자료를 활용하였다. 그리고 잠재프로파일 분석을 실시하여 유형을 분류하고 각 유형 분류에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악하기 위해 다항 로지스틱 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과, 대학생의 대학생활 및 교육경험 만족에 대한 잠재프로파일은 4개의 집단 즉, '평균 만족형(44.4%)', '수업 만족형(42.5%)', '최고 만족형(3.2%)', '관계 만족형(9.9%)'으로 분류되었다. 그리고 평균 만족형을 참조집단으로 하여 나머지 3개 유형으로의 분류에 영향을 미치는 요인을 탐색한 결과 성별, 학년, 입학전형, GPA 성적등급 모든 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로, 본 연구는 대학 차원에서 학생맞춤형교육, 학생지원정책을 기획 및 추진하는 데 시사점을 제시하였다.

물리교육 전공 학생들의 교육실습 과정 사례 연구 (A Case Study on the Process of Practicum of Student Teachers Majoring in Physics Education)

  • This study has been undertaken in the light of constructivist view of teacher education. Participant observation, unstructured interview and questionnaire were used to explore the process and the role of practicum in science teacher education. The subjects were 19 student teachers majoring in physics education; 8 had participated at boys junior high school, 11 at senior high school. The student teachers had very critical and negative perception on their school days' science lessons. They had expected to do 'better' in their practicum but there were only 3 to 5 opportunities of teaching under the umbrella of textbook. Explanation in the classroom and solving exercise problem were the main features of student teachers' lessons. Much of the lessons were similar when it is to same topic and the main reference for their lesson preparation was the textbook. The student teachers felt the design of teaching approach as the most difficult thing during their lesson preparation. They realized that teaching is harder than they thought and they should consider students' level and responses. Though they had become to have more positive perception on teaching job through their field experiences, their decision on job preference did not change. More than half did not want to be a teacher. The student teachers recognised the courses related with science education as the most useful to their teaching in practice among the program of college of education which they had taken. The experience of writing one lesson plan or teaching in front of their peers, designing a new demonstration equipment were recognised as valuable and helpful element of the courses. They proposed to reduce the amount of general education courses and to emphasize the courses relevant with science education and practicum. The limited opportunity of teaching in practicum was pointed out as problematic. Though the practicum was recognized as a 'good' experience to student teachers, it was confined by textbook and limited teaching opportunity. In conclusion, the practicum was not organized and implemented as a meaningful experience of science teaching and learning. There should be more structured studies on what kind of perceptions and experiences the student teachers had brought to the science teacher education program, how they interact with the elements of the program and how they affect to their science teaching. The structure and content of practicum also should be studied and developed so as to make practicum as a meaningful experience of science teaching and learning.
