  • In this paper, we design the 4-bit phase shifter which have $22.5^{\circ},45^{\circ},90^{\circ}$ and $180^{\circ}$ phase shift by applying the loaded line and switched network phase shifter. Its phase shift is variable with changing of the stub and passive device parameters. The experiments show the 6.5 dB average insertion loss and $10^{\circ}$ average phase error at center frequency, 6GHz. The results of experiment agree well with the theories except $180^{\circ}$ phase shifter.

  • Until now, because a new product (or facility) launched in market has been retired from one year of age, we can have had ASL by stub-curve method by Iowa curve. Recently, many innovative products with important role in market like display and solar-cell etc. are more durable and, what are better, they have the constant variance in ASL because of their good quality. Of course, there are some ones like smart mobile phone with relatively big dispersion in ASL. Estimating ASL of products like display and solar-cell etc., the new approach is needed. In this paper a new method applied traditional Iowa curve with accelerated reliability test (indoor/outdoor) etc. is proposed.

  • This paper summarizes the data of a monopole antenna with a sleeve structure that can be applied in various ways. Sleeve monopole antennas have broadband characteristics and are used for multi-frequency applications. The sleeve monopole antenna is composed of a vertical conductor, which is a radiator, and a sleeve having the same structure as a coaxial cable. The sleeve acts as a radiator and an open stub. The length of the sleeve should be 1/3~2/3 of the total length of the antenna. A monopole antenna having a sleeve structure is applicable to a vehicle wiper antenna. In addition, the case of applying this antenna to a broadband sleeve antenna using a loading coil, a broadband printed sleeve monopole antenna for an ISM band, a gap sleeve and a double sleeve, and a UWB planar monopole antenna using half cutting was summarized and analyzed in terms of structure and broadband.

  • In this paper, a compact UWB (Ultra Wideband) BPF(Band-Pass Filter) with dual notched bands is proposed using a hybrid Composited Right-Left Handed (CRLH) and Defected Ground Structure (DGS). To avoid the interferences such as Wireless LAN (Center frequency: 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz), the CRLH is employed to obtain the dual notched bands and the DGS is used to obtain the wide stop-band above the pass-band. The fabricated filter has good performance and has more than 30dB rejection at the center frequency of 2.4 GHz and 5.8GHz. The dual notched bands are easily movable by changing the CRLH parameter. Also the insertion loss is less than 0.4dB in the lower pass-band and 0.7dB in the upper pass-band, and it has small group delay variation less than 0.6ns. The size of the fabricated filter is very compact (17mm*17mm).

  • In this paper, the design and the fabrication of dual-band bandpass filter using two dual-mode resonators is presented. Dual-mode resonator using a short stub is miniaturized by inter-digital capacitor and stepped impedance. Two dual mode resonators are designed to have different resonant frequencies, one for the lower passband and the other for the upper passband. Transmission zero is positioned at low or high rejection bands with a sharp skirt characteristic. Dual-band operation can be achieved using dual feeding structure. For WLAN, the proposed filter at 2.45/5.25 GHz is designed and fabricated. The size of the filter is as compact as 1$10.83\;mm{\times}5.3\;mm$.

  • Even if ICS(Interference Cancellation System) repeater is used in wireless communication system, it has the disadvantage that it must have enough distance between Donor and Service antenna to be isolated. In this paper, new ICS repeater integrated antenna with high insolation characteristics is designed. The proposed antenna is fabricated for 800MHz and measured. Bandwidth and gain are optimized by changing the stub lengths near main patch and power divider, and also by changing the size of parasitic patch. This antenna has a return loss less than -13 dB, a gain over 3 dBi, and an isolation between the donor and the server antennas less than -56 dB from 824~894 MHz for CDMA mobile communication. Therefore, the proposed antenna structure can be applied to eliminate the shadow area and to expand the coverage area for any other wireless communication bands.

  • The Self Compacting Concrete, SCC is the new generation type of concrete which is not needed to be compacted by vibrator and it will be compacted by its own weight. Since SCC is a new innovation and also the high strength self compacting concrete, HSSCC behavior is like a brittle material, therefore, understanding the strength effect on the serviceability performance of reinforced self compacting concretes is critical. For this aim, first the normal and high strength self compacting concrete, NSSCC and HSSCC was designed. Then, the serviceability performance of reinforced connections consisting of NSSCC and HSSCC were investigated. Twelve reinforced concrete connections (L = 3 m, b = 0.15 m, h = 0.3 m) were simulated, by this concretes, the maximum and minimum reinforcement ratios ${\rho}$ and ${\rho}^{\prime}$ (percentage of tensile and compressive steel reinforcement) are in accordance with the provision of the ACI-05 for conventional RC structures. This study was limited to the case of bending without axial load, utilizing simple connections loaded at mid span through a stub (b = 0.15 m, h = 0.3 m, L = 0.3 m) to simulate a beam-column connection. During the test, concrete and steel strains, deflections and crack widths were measured at different locations along each member. Based on the experimental readings and observations, the cracked moment of inertia ($I_{cr}$) of members was determined and the results were compared with some selective theoretical methods. Also, the flexural crack widths of the members were measured and the applicability for conventional vibrated concrete, as for ACI, BS and CSA code, was verified for SCCs members tested. A comparison between two Codes (ACI and CSA) for the theoretical values cracking moment is indicate that, irrespective of the concrete strength, for the specimens reported, the prediction values of two codes are almost equale. The experimental cracked moment of inertia $(I_{cr})_{\exp}$ is lower than its theoretical $(I_{cr})_{th}$ values, and therefore theoretically it is overestimated. Also, a general conclusion is that, by increasing the percentage of ${\rho}$, the value of $I_{cr}$ is increased.

  • Local buckling can be ignored for hot-rolled ordinary strength steel equal angle compression members, because the width-to-thickness ratios of the leg don't exceed the limit value. With the development of steel structures, Q420 high strength steel angles with the nominal yield strength of 420 MPa have begun to be widely used in China. Because of the high strength, the limit value of the width-to-thickness ratio becomes smaller than that of ordinary steel strength, which causes that the width-to-thickness ratios of some hot-rolled steel angle sections exceed the limit value. Consequently, local buckling must be considered for 420 MPa steel equal angles under axial compression. The existing research on the local buckling of high strength steel members under axial compression is briefly summarized, and it shows that there is lack of study on the local buckling of high strength steel equal angles under axial compression. Aiming at the local buckling of high strength steel angles, this paper conducts an axial compression experiment of 420MPa high strength steel equal angles, including 15 stub columns. The test results are compared with the corresponding design methods in ANSI/AISC 360-05 and Eurocode 3. Then a finite element model is developed to analyze the local buckling behavior of high strength steel equal angles under axial compression, and validated by the test results. Following the validation, a finite element parametric study is conducted to study the influences of a range of parameters, and the analysis results are compared with the design strengths by ANSI/AISC 360-05 and Eurocode 3.

  • Back-to-back built-up cold-formed steel un-lipped channel sections are used in cold-formed steel structures; such as trusses, wall frames and portal frames. In such built-up columns, intermediate fasteners resist the buckling of individual channel-sections. No experimental tests or finite element analyses have been reported in the literature for back-to-back built-up cold-formed steel un-lipped channel sections and specially investigated the effect of screw spacing on axial strength of such columns. The issue is addressed in this paper. The results of 95 finite element analyses are presented covering stub to slender columns. The finite element model is validated against the experimental tests recently conducted by authors for back-to-back built-up cold-formed steel lipped channel sections. The verified finite element model is then used for the purposes of a parametric study to investigate the effect of screw spacing on axial strength of back-to-back built-up cold-formed steel un-lipped channel sections. Results are compared against the built-up lipped channel sections and it is shown that the axial strength of un-lipped built-up sections are 31% lesser on average than the built-up lipped channel sections. It was also found that the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) and the Australian and New Zealand Standards were over-conservative by around 15% for built-up columns failed through overall buckling, however AISI and AS/NZS were un-conservative by around 8% for built-up columns mainly failed by local buckling.
