Background: Ecologists have achieved much progress in the study of mechanisms that maintain species coexistence and diversity. In this paper, we reviewed a wide range of past research related to these topics, focusing on five theoretical bodies: (1) coexistence by niche differentiation, (2) coexistence without niche differentiation, (3) coexistence along environmental stress gradients, (4) coexistence under non-equilibrium versus equilibrium conditions, and (5) modern perspectives. Results: From the review, we identified that there are few models that can be generally and confidently applicable to different ecological systems. This problem arises mainly because most theories have not been substantiated by enough empirical research based on field data to test various coexistence hypotheses at different spatial scales. We also found that little is still known about the mechanisms of species coexistence under harsh environmental conditions. This is because most previous models treat disturbance as a key factor shaping community structure, but they do not explicitly deal with stressful systems with non-lethal conditions. We evaluated the mainstream ideas of niche differentiation and stochasticity for the coexistence of plant species across salt marsh creeks in southwestern Denmark. The results showed that diversity indices, such as Shannon-Wiener diversity, richness, and evenness, decreased with increasing surface elevation and increased with increasing niche overlap and niche breadth. The two niche parameters linearly decreased with increasing elevation. These findings imply a substantial influence of an equalizing mechanism that reduces differences in relative fitness among species in the highly stressful environments of the marsh. We propose that species evenness increases under very harsh conditions if the associated stress is not lethal. Finally, we present a conceptual model of patterns related to the level of environmental stress and niche characteristics along a microhabitat gradient (i.e., surface elevation). Conclusions: The ecology of stressful systems with non-lethal conditions will be increasingly important as ongoing global-scale climate change extends the period of chronic stresses that are not necessarily fatal to inhabiting plants. We recommend that more ecologists continue this line of research.

가스 하이드레이트의 구조-I 및 구조-H의 공존 현상을 13C NMR과 Raman spectroscopy를 이용하여 분석하였다. 하이드레이트 생성 조건이 구조-H 영역에만 있을 때는 CH4+neohexane 혼합 하이드레이트가 구조-H만을 나타냈지만, 구조-I의 영역에서는 구조-H의 혼합 하이드레이트와 구조-I의 순수 메탄 하이드레이트가 공존하는 것을 $^{13}C$ NMR spectra를 통해 확인하였다. 이러한 현상은 구조-H 생성자로 알려진 isopentane, MCP, MCH 에서도 관찰되었으며, Raman spectroscopy를 이용해서도 확인할 수 있었다.

In this paper, a stage-structured predator prey model (stage structure on prey) with two discrete time delays has been discussed. The two discrete time delays occur due to maturation delay and gestation delay. Linear stability analysis for both non-delay as well as with delays reveals that certain thresholds have to be maintained for coexistence. Numerical simulation shows that the system exhibits Hopf bifurcation, resulting in a stable limit cycle.

본 논문에서는 TV 화이트 스페이스(TV White Space; TVWS)에서 이종 시스템 간 채널 선택 방법에 대하여 다루도록 한다. 먼저, 대상이 되는 시스템 구조에 대하여 정의한다. 그리고 정의된 시스템 구조에서 TVWS에 서로 다른 시스템들이 공존하는 경우 여러 개의 TVWS 채널들을 공존하는 시스템들이 어떻게 나누어 쓸 것인지를 정의한다. 구체적으로는 TVWS에 서로 다른 대역폭을 가지는 시스템들이 공존하는 경우 전체적으로 채널이 남는다고 하더라도 좁은 대역폭을 가지는 채널들만 남은 경우 넓은 대역폭을 가지는 기기는 채널 사용 기회가 없어져서 Blocking이 되어버린다. 그러므로 대역폭의 차이로 인하여 채널을 새로운 시스템에 할당하는데 있어서 제한이 되는 상황을 최소화시키기 위하여 TV 채널 공유 시스템에게 할당할 채널을 선택하는데 있어서 넓은 단위의 사용 가능한 채널을 최대한 남겨두고 좁은 단위의 사용 가능한 채널부터 선택하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법은 IEEE 802.19.1 시스템 구조뿐만 아니라 일반적인 용도에서 TVWS의 주파수 사용 효율을 높여준다.

The coexistence of the superconductivity and magnetism in the Ho1-xDyxNi2B2C is studied by using Ginzburg-Landau theory. This material violates the standard do Gennes scaling showing the coexistence and complex interplay of superconducting and magnetic order yielding an anomalous phase diagram. We propose a phenomenological model which includes two magnetic and two superconducting order parameters accounting for the multi-band structure of this material. We describe the magnetic fluctuations and order and demonstrate that they lead to anomalous behavior of the upper critical field. The doping dependence of Tc in Ho1-xDyxNi2B2C showing a reentrance behavior are analyzed yielding a very good agreement with experimental data.

Laodiceanism is the blueprint from which Hardy draws one of his most ingenuous effects: the creating of a Laodicean around which the novel constructs its ambiguity. Hardy's command of "ingenuity" joins both the leading heroine Paula and the minor character Dare into the same category of a Laodicean. Alongside Paula, Dare is the most important ingredient in the novel in that he acts as an enigmatic persona defying the reader's attempts to establish a coherent type. This paper aims to offer a close reading of Dare's life story, which is chosen for discussion as he has been deemed as a simple functionary and thus apparently escaped serious critical notice thus far. It is stressed that the structure of sensations Dare embodies is fascinating in the sense that it is a locus where the coexistence of both meaning and nonmeaning would not amount to harmonious peace or stability so much as permits the impossibility of single and central significance. In this coexistence is inscribed a notion that the binaries in opposition are endlessly inter-mingled in dialogic tension, which is the hallmark of Laodiceanism that Hardy aims to present through the creation of Dare.

본 연구에서는 동북아 지역에서 협력과 공존을 위한 부가가치 물류 전략방안들을 제시하는 것이 목적이다. 국내산업구조의 변화와 일본슈퍼중추항만계획 및 중국의 대수심 양산항만의 건설 등으로 인해 국내 항만물류산업은 이들과의 경쟁을 피할 수 없게 되었다. 국내산업 구조의 변화로 수출물량의 감소와 양국의 새로운 항만정책과 건설로 인한 환적화물의 감소는 현재 컨테이너 물동량 처리 위주로 운영되고 있는 부산항 항만물류산업에 커다란 영향을 미칠 것으로 사료된다. 이제는 컨테이너 물동량 처리를 통하여 항만의 수익을 얻으려는 것에는 한계가 있으며, 향후 중국의 신항만 증가에 따라 중국으로 직기항하는 선박들이 많아질 경우 동북아 거점항만이 되기 위해 노력했던 국내 물류전략들은 수정이 불가피할 것이다. 그리고 경쟁이 아니 상호 협력과 공존을 위한 전략이 필요하다고 하겠다. 그래서 본 논문은 협력과 공존을 통해 서로가 공생할 수 있는 부가가치 물류 전략방안들을 연구해 보았다.

주파수 자원을 효율적으로 사용할 수 있는 CR(Cognitive Radio)기술의 응용으로 IEEE 802.22 WRAN(Wire-less Regional Area Network) WG에서는 이와 관련하여 활발히 표준화가 진행되고 있다. 기본적으로 WRAN 시스템은 100 km의 광역 셀(wide area cell)을 기반으로 하며 ADSL급(1.5 Mbps Downstream, 384 kbps Upstream) 데이터 전송 속도를 목표로 하고 있으며, 54 MHz에서 746 MHz 대역을 CR 기술로 임의적으로 전송 대역을 선택해서 전송하는 시스템이다. 또한 MAC(Medium Access Control) 계층 관점에서는 기존의 IEEE 802.16 MAC 계층의 OFDMA기반 데이터 전송 방식과 QoS 보존 방식, 대역폭 요청 방식을 기반으로 표준화가 진행되고 있으며, 이에 추가하여 CR 고유 기능인 채널 탐색 기능, 기 사용자(incumbent user) 보호 기능, 자기 공존(self coexistence) 기능등이 중요하게 논의되고 있으며, WRAN 고유 기능인 채널 결합(channel bonding) 및 채널 부분 사용(fractional bandwidth usage)에 대한 표준화가 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이와 관련하여 CR 기술의 적용 관점에서 중요시 고려되는 프레임 구조, IU 보호 기능, 상호 공존 기술들에 대해 중점적으로 논의 할 것이며, 결론에서는 추후 표준화 방향에 대해 언급할 것이다.

Multicultural theories fully fledged around the 1980s and the early 1990s. Emerging in the 1960s thanks to the Civil Rights movement, multiculturalism has become the grand American national narratives, whose tenets recognize and respect people with diverse racial and cultural backgrounds. This period, however, witnessed the eruption of violent and destructive rebellions or uprisings involving racial minorities. Racial conflicts and tensions exploded at the moment when multiculturalism was widely practiced in areas including education and public policy revealing that complicated problems are embedded in the urban ghettos. American popular culture, specifically addresses antagonisms among different races or ethnicities in Bed-Stuy in New York. Although the film is mainly concerned with the collision among races, it lets ambivalent and cacophonous values and ideologies be present in the black community. On the other hand, Ice Cube's "Black Korea" empowers the black community when it deals with the turbulent relationship between black residents and Korean American merchants. Simultaneously, it denigrates Korean Americans as gasta raps often target the institution like government or police. In short, while attempts to search the ideas of coexistence and juxtaposition through polyphonic features embodied in the film "Black Korea" seems to depend on the dualistic system when it deals with the black-Korean conflicts and as a result it just reveals the chasm between two communities.
