As is in all economic activities, the highest yield per unit area is the main goal in animal production, while addressing the temperamental needs of animals often is ignored. Animal welfare is not only an ethical fact; it also has an economic value. Spatial environmental enrichment contributes positively to animal welfare by addressing their behavioral and mental requirements. The present study was conducted to determine the effects of weaning and spatial environmental arrangements on behaviors of goat-kids. Experimental groups were arranged in structured and unstructured spatial environments. Roughage feeder, semi-automatic concentrate feeder, bunk, bridge, and wood block were placed in the structured environment. No equipment was placed in the unstructured environment and paddock sides were enclosed with an iron sheet to prevent bipedal stance and to provide environmental isolation. In the study 10 male and 10 female Turkish Saanen goat kids were used in each group. Spatial environmental arrangements did not have significant impacts on the growth performance of kids (p>0.05). All objects in the structured group were accepted by the kids. Average use ratios of roughage feeder, semi-automatic concentrate feeder, bunk, bridge and wood block were observed as 19.3%, 14.0%, 12.6%, 3.8%, and 0.7%, respectively. There were significant differences between before- and after-weaning in use of all objects except for underneath bridge ($p{\leq}0.05$). Concentrate feed consumption, locomotion, and resting behaviors in kids showed significant differences by structural group and growth period. Roughage consumption was similar between groups, while it differed by growth period ($p{\leq}0.05$). Interaction frequency was significantly higher in structured group (p = 0.0023). Playing behavior significantly differentiated based on the growth period rather than on groups ($p{\leq}0.05$). Playing behavior significantly decreased after weaning. Abnormal oral activity was significantly higher in the structured group before weaning ($p{\leq}0.05$). Despite there being no installations facilitating climbing and bipedal stance, the kids of the unstructured group were able to exhibit 1/3 as much bipedal stance behavior as the kids of the structured group through leaning over slippery paddock wall or over their groupmates. Bipedal stance behavior of unstructured group was similar before and after weaning, while bipedal stance behavior before weaning was about 2 times that of after weaning in structured group. It was concluded that unstructured environmental arrangement limited the behavior repertoire of the goat kids.
The $Sr_1-_xY_xMnO_3$ (x = 0.0∼1.0) system was synthesized using amorphous citrate process. The stability of various structures and the electronic transport properties of this system were investigated. X-ray diffraction study indicated that the $Sr_1-_xY_xMnO_3$ system has three different structures depending on composition, namely, 4L-hexagonal perovskite (when x is less than 0.3), pseudocubic perovskite (when x is 0.3∼0.7), and hexagonal nonperovskite (when x is larger than 0.7) structures. The structural changes and electronic properties were interpreted based on two factors, i.e., the size of cations and the oxidation state of manganese ion. When the concentration of Y substitution exceeds 30%, the Mn-Mn repulsive interaction dominates over intermetallic attraction, and thus structure changes to pseudocubic perovskite. In perovskite phase the unit cell dimensions increases with increasing $Mn^{3+}$ ions due to yttrium substitution. The band gap of $Sr_{0.9}Y_{0.1}MnO_3$ is greater than that of $Sr_{0.5}Y_{0.5}MnO_3$. The greater band gap of $Sr_{0.9}Y_{0.1}MnO_3$ indicates that the 4L-hexagonal structure is more stabilized than cubic perovskite due to the Mn-Mn bond.

Background: It is very difficult for hemiplegic patients to effectively perform the sit-to-stand (STS) movements independently because of several factors. Moreover, the analysis of STS motion in hemiplegic patients has been thus far confined to only muscle strength evaluation with little information available on structural and environmental factors of varying chair height and foot conditions. Objects: This study aimed to analyze the change in biomechanical factors (ground reaction force, center of mass displacement, and the angle and moment of joints) of the joints in the lower extremities with varying chair height and foot conditions in hemiplegic patients while they performed the STS movements. Methods: Nine hemiplegic patients voluntarily participated in this study. Their STS movements was analyzed in a total of nine sessions (one set of three consecutive sessions) with varying chair height and foot conditions. The biomechanical factors of the joints in the lower extremities were measured during the movements. Ground reaction force was measured using a force plate; and the other abovementioned parameters were measured using an infra-red camera. Two-way repeated analysis of variance was performed to determine the changes in biomechanical factors in the lower extremities with varying chair height and foot conditions. Results: No interaction was found between chair height and foot conditions (p>.05). All measured variables with varying chair height showed a significant difference (p<.05). Maximum joint flexion angle, maximum joint moment, and the displacement of the center of mass in foot conditions showed a significant difference (p<.05); however the maximum ground reaction force did not show a significant difference (p>.05). Conclusion: The findings suggest that hemiplegic patients can more stably and efficiently perform the STS movement with increased chair height and while they are bare-foot.
Two shapes of crystals have been isolated by the interdiffusion of $Co(NCS)_2$ dissolved in methanol with 1,2-bis(2,2'-bipyridyl-6-yl)ethane (bbpe) dissolved in chloroform. The two crystals have been elucidated as $trans-Co^{II}(NCS)_2(bbpe)$ and $trans-Co^{II}(NCS)_2(bbpe){\cdot}2CHCl_3$, by X-ray crystallography, elemental analysis, IR, and thermal analysis. The two molecular structures are very similar except for the absence or presence of chloroform solvate molecules. The bbpe ligand coordinates to the cobalt(II) ion in an open-ended tetradentate mode, resulting in discrete mononuclear cobalt(II) complex. The cobalt atom adopts a typical octahedral arrangement with six nitrogen donating atoms with two NCS groups in trans positions. A significant solid-to-solid phase transition occurs presumably due to the change of conformationally flexible bbpe ligand. The formation of both crystals oeeurs in a successive two-step process, the formation of $trans-Co^{II}(NCS)_2(bbpe)$ and its transformation into $trans-Co^{II}(NCS)_2(bbpe){\cdot}2CHCl_3$. The thermal stability and favorable formation of the solvate crystals may be ascribed to the interaction between S atom of NCS group and Cl of chloroform.
The main purpose of this study is to conceptualize and investigate the relationship between customer satisfaction and the linking variables of customer loyalty in internet shopping mall including general merchandise and specialized online mall. To achieve this objective, the study tries to validate the structural equation model and causal relationships among the model's elements involving customer satisfaction, customer trust, customer attitude, relationship involvement, and customer loyalty. The same research model was used in analysing general merchandise and specialized internet shopping mall to reveal and compare the casual path constructs. Empirical findings are as follows: First, all the hypothesis concerned with internet merchandise shopping mall were accepted but the direct effects between satisfaction $\Rightarrow$ loyalty and satisfaction $\Rightarrow$ attitude rejected in case of specialized internet shopping mall. Second, I found out that there were direct or indirect relationships between the mediating variables(satisfaction, attitude, involvement) and site trust and customer loyalty irrespective of internet shopping site patterns. In Particular, the direct effects of on customer loyalty showed the difference each other, but the indirect effects through satisfaction, attitude, or relationship involvement were all accepted. This means that the proper management concerned with indirect path is probably more important for the success of all kinds of internet shopping mall. The implications of this research may be summarized as follows. First, click and mortar companies should clearly understand and articulate the key requirements of shopping mall trust and satisfaction. Second, online companies are encouraged to establish linkage including trust, positive attitude, relationship involvement in order to foster customer loyalty. Third, companies are not only required to differentiate the internet marketing strategy adapting to the patterns of internet shopping mall but also to customize the interaction strategy in the formation process of customer loyalty.
The hERG (human ether-a-go-go related gene) ion channel is a main factor for cardiac repolarization, and the blockade of this channel could induce arrhythmia and sudden death. Therefore, potential hERG ion channel inhibitors are now a primary concern in the drug discovery process, and lots of efforts are focused on the minimizing the cardiotoxic side effect. In this study, $IC_{50}$ data of 202 organic compounds in HEK (human embryonic kidney) cell from literatures were used to develop predictive 2D-QSAR model. Multiple linear regression (MLR), Support Vector Machine (SVM), and artificial neural network (ANN) were utilized to predict inhibition concentration of hERG ion channel as machine learning methods. Population based-forward selection method with cross-validation procedure was combined with each learning method and used to select best subset descriptors for each learning algorithm. The best model was ANN model based on 14 descriptors ($R^2_{CV}$=0.617, RMSECV=0.762, MAECV=0.583) and the MLR model could describe the structural characteristics of inhibitors and interaction with hERG receptors. The validation of QSAR models was evaluated through the 5-fold cross-validation and Y-scrambling test.
The acute toxicity in the rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) was analyzed and predicted using quantitative structure-activity relationships (QSAR). The aquatic toxicity, 96h $LC_{50}$ (median lethal concentration) of 275 organic pesticides, was obtained from EU-funded project DEMETRA. Prediction models were derived from 558 2D molecular descriptors, calculated in PreADMET. The linear (multiple linear regression) and nonlinear (support vector machine and artificial neural network) learning methods were optimized by taking into account the statistical parameters between the experimental and predicted p$LC_{50}$. After preprocessing, population based forward selection were used to select the best subsets of descriptors in the learning methods including 5-fold cross-validation procedure. The support vector machine model was used as the best model ($R^2_{CV}$=0.677, RMSECV=0.887, MSECV=0.674) and also correctly classified 87% for the training set according to EU regulation criteria. The MLR model could describe the structural characteristics of toxic chemicals and interaction with lipid membrane of fish. All the developed models were validated by 5 fold cross-validation and Y-scrambling test.
The purpose of this study is to discuss how strength and ductility of each system in low-rise reinforced concrete buildings composed of extremely brittle, shear and flexural failure lateral-load resisting systems have influence on seismic capacities of the overall system, which is based on nonlinear seismic response analyses of single-degree-of-freedom structural systems. In order to simulate the triple lateral-load resisting system, structures are idealized as a parallel combination of two modified origin-oriented hysteretic models and a degrading trilinear hysteretic model that fail primarily in extremely brittle, shear and flexure, respectively. Stiffness properties of three models are varied in terms of story shear coefficients, and structures are subjected to various ground motion components. By analyzing these systems, interaction curves of demand strengths of the triple system for various levels of ductility factors are finally derived for practical purposes. The result indicates that demand strength levels derived can be used as a basic information for seismic evaluation and design criteria of low-rise reinforced concrete buildings having the triple lateral-load resisting system.
The Ilsun Bridge is the world's longest box girder bridge(801m) with corrugated steel webs and has the widest width($21.2{\sim}30.9m$: tri-cellular cross section) among these kinds of composite girder bridges. It has fourteen spans(50m, 10 at 60m, 50m, 2 at 50.5m) where twelve spans are erected by the incremental launching method and two spans by full staging method. Special topics related to the structural safety of prestressed concrete box girder bridge with corrugated steel web in construction stage and service were reviewed. Investigations focus on the span-to-depth ratio, shear stress of corrugated steel webs and optimization of tile length of steel launching nose. The span-to-depth ratio of Ilsun bridge has been found to be well-planned while the corrugated steel web has been designed highly conservative and it has been observed that the conventional nose-deck interaction equation do not fit well with corrugated steel web bridges. As a result, detailed construction stage analysis was performed to check the stress levels and the safety of preceding design conditions. Finally, from the design review of Ilsun bridge, this study suggests optimal design issues which should be of interest in designing a prestressed concrete box girder bridge with corrugated steel webs.

The crashworthiness of the fuel tank of a rotorcraft is verified through the crash impact test. The crash impact test has a high risk of failure due to the application of an excessive load, which can seriously affect the overall development schedule of the aircraft. Therefore, a lot of effort has been made to minimize the possibility of failure in the actual test by carrying out a numerical analysis of the crash impact test of the fuel tank in the initial design stage. Recently, an external auxiliary fuel tank was added to increase the cruising distance. In this study, the numerical analysis results of the crash impact test based on several different shapes of the external auxiliary fuel tank are presented, in order to evaluate its crashworthiness. For the numerical analysis, smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH), which is one of the fluid-structure coupled analysis methods, is applied and the test conditions prescribed by US military standards are reflected in the analysis conditions. In addition, the material property data previously obtained by the specimen test of the actual fuel tank is applied to the numerical analysis. As a result, the equivalent stress of the fuel tank material itself and the metal fitting is provided and the possibility of acquiring data for designing the crash-worthiness of the external auxiliary fuel tank is evaluated by examining the behavior and working load of the internal mounted components.
