열간사상압연기의 루퍼시스템의 ILQ 제어기 설계 (Design of an ILQ Looper Controller for Rot Strip Mills)

  • This paper studies on the design of a looper control system for hot strip mill finisher using ILQ(Inverse Linear Quadratic optimal control) control method. The loopers are placed between each rolling stands and looper control plays an important role in regulating strip tension. The strip tension is controlled by raising and lowering the looper and by changing the speed of main work rolls. Firstly, it is shown from a nonlinear dynamic simulation that the strip tension is more influenced by difference of rolling speed than that of the looper angle. Secondly, a servo controller of the looper is designed using ILQ control method of which the characteristics and algorithms are simply introduced. Finally, the performances of the ILQ servo controller are compared with those of the LQI servo controller from computer simulation. In result, it is shown that the proposed ILQ servo controller has the better performances and robustness far parameter perturbations and disturbances than those of LQI controller.

  • The mean temperature prediction of strip is very important in hot strip finishing mill because of affecting on product quality and shape. Also, temperature can be used by basic information in other on-line control models with affecting control accuracy in factory. So, FE based on-line temperature model was developed for predicting strip mean temperature accurately in various process conditions and factory environments. There are many variables in affecting strip mean temperature in on-line states of factory. But some problems are occurred in considering all variables for making temperature model because of the bad efficiency of regression or fitting analysis. In this report, we have adopted dimensional analysis for solving these problems. We have many variables with dimensions affecting strip temperature but we are able to make non-dimensional variables less than dimensional variables from the combination of dimensional variables caused by PI-Theorem in fluid mechanics. The developed models are divided by two parts. The one is interstand temperature prediction model. The other is roll gap temperature model.

고속도로 영업소 광장의 횡방향 럼블스트립으로 발생되는 소음 조사 (A Noise Investigation of Transverse Rumble Strip at Toll Plaza of Highway)

  • PURPOSES: This study is to investigate a generated traffic noise when vehicle pass over a transverse rumble strip at toll plaza of highway. METHODS: To investigate traffic noise at toll plaza of highway, Pass-by method which is the most common used for measuring traffic noise was adopted and the traffic noise at toll plaza was measured for 10 min per hour for 11hours(13:00~24:00). RESULTS: The measured traffic noise by pass-by method was changed as function of the transverse rumble strip configuration. Generally, the maximum difference among three noise measurement sections was 7 dB(A). It might be related with traffic speed. Also, the measured traffic noise was strongly generated from a passenger car which was 2 axle. It means that the most of traffic noise on the road is generated at tire/pavement interface of the passenger car. CONCLUSIONS: The traffic noise was strongly related with vehicle speed and transverse rumble strip configuration on the road. For driver safety, the transverse rumble strip is definitely necessary. However, the complaints from residents near highway was increased by traffic noise from transverse rumble strip. Therefore, To satisfy both safety and reduction of traffic noise, the development of configuration of transverse rumble strip is necessary in the further study.

백운산 지역에서 벌채지내 운재로의 회복에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Restoration on the Strip Roads Mt. Baekun Area)

  • To investigate the restoration procedure on soil physical properties and vegetation at the surface of strip road affected by timber harvesting operation. This study was carried out at strip roads constructed between 1989 and 1994 in Mt. Baekun, Kwangyang, Chollanam-Do. Soil hardness of the surface layer was improved with change of time after strip road construction, but that of 7.6~15 cm depth from the surface was not improved. According to linear regression analysis, it was estimated 16.6 years in 0~7.5 cm and 16.9 years in 7.6~15 cm soil depth to be restored to natural forest lands. The amount of surface soil erosion was 0.045$m^3$/km/yr on strip roads constructed in 1989 and 1990, and road constructed in 1994 showed the highest value (4.5$m^3$/km/yr). Vegetation coverage rates of road surface were 96.7% in strip roads constructed in 1990. Those of cutslope and fillslope were highest in roads constructed in 1990. The results indicated that strip roads were restored with change of time after road construction.

만화 소재 뮤지컬에 있어서 만화특성의 지속성과 변형에 대한 시론적 연구 (Continuity and Transformation of the Cartoon Strip for the Musical Performance)

  • 이 연구는 만화 원작을 소재로 한 뮤지컬의 기획과 스토리텔링 및 마케팅체계를 분석하여 만화의 뮤지컬화 과정에서 만화의 특성이 어떻게 고려되고 있는가를 분석하는데 초점을 두었다. 이를 위하여 만화 '위대한 캣츠비'가 '뮤지컬 '위대한 캣츠비'로 재구성된 사례를 미디어믹스 관점에서 분석하였다. 사례분석은 만화를 활용한 뮤지컬의 기획 체계, 스토리텔링구조, 캐릭터설정, 마케팅 체계를 중심으로 이루어졌다. 분석결과, 만화의 세계관과 스토리텔링 체계는 뮤지컬의 기획 및 마케팅 과정에서도 중요한 요소로 고려되고 있지만, 작가주의 관점보다는 관객의 수요와 몰입을 유도하기 위한 관점에서 강조와 생략 및 변형을 통해 재구조화되는 것으로 나타났다. 뮤지컬의 비주얼스토리텔링 구조는 디지털영상과 무대관리, 그리고 음악을 활용하여 서사적 스토리텔링과 연결되는 종합적인 체계로 이루어져 있다. 그리고 만화뮤지컬은 스토리텔링과 캐릭터 설정과정에서 명확하고 대립적인 부분을 부각시키고, 갈등과 해소, 극적 반전, 코믹요소 활동 등을 통해 관객의 몰입을 유도하고 있다. 또한 만화의 시각적 이미지와 상징기호들은 뮤지컬의 디지털영상과 무대장치 및 소품 등 무대연출을 통해 뮤지컬특성에 맞게 재구성되고 있는 것을 나타났다. 결론적으로 만화의 뮤지컬화 작업은 기획, 제작, 마케팅 과정 전반에 걸쳐서 만화의 특성을 중심축으로 뮤지컬의 특성과 산업구조를 고려하여 이루어진다고 볼 수 있다.

  • In this paper the modeling and control of a twin roll strip caster is investigated. Mathematical models for the strip casting process are obtained by analyzing five critical areas such that the molten steel level in the pool, solidification process, roll separating force and torque, roll dynamics including hydraulic actuators, and roll drive system. A two-level control strategy is proposed. At lower level, three local subsystems are independently feedback-controlled by suitable local controllers which perform well to the behaviors of each subsystem. They are a variable structure control of the molten steel level in the pool, an adaptive predictive control of the roll gap which is directly related to the strip thickness, and an $H^{\infty}$ control of the roll drive system. At higher level, all reference signals to the lower level subsystems are generated by an optimal controller in the perspective of regulating the strip thickness and roll separating force.   • Generally, the contribution of curbs and median strip is not considered carefully in analysing and designing the girder bridges. There being curbs, the load given on interior girder relatively reduced and on exterior girder increased. Curbs and median strip reduce the load distribution factor by distributing the load given on girder fairly, In this paper, the Influence of curbs and median strip in wheel distribution through parameter study and lateral distribution test of PSC girder bridge was investigated. Finite-element analysis was performed with parameterizing the flexural rigidity of the girder, span length, girder spacing, median strip, curbs. The influence of curbs and median strip would increase with lowering rigidity of girder. In addition, curbs lower the load distribution factor of exterior and interior girders.

  • Rolling speed, roll gap, and cooling pattern in hot strip finishing mill process should be determined before inserting strip into roll. Such parameters are initially calculated by a mathematical set-up model. The technique to find adequate roll speed via a mathematical model has inherently limit because required working conditions are various and rolling process is nonlinear. To improve the accuracy of initial rolling speed for a finishing mill, this paper suggests a correction technology for initial rolling speed. The proposed method was implemented in hot strip mill process. As the results, the magnitude of width error in strip head-end part caused by excessive strip tension was decreased remarkably.

  • The approach in this thesis is for prediction of deformed strip profile in hot rolling mill. This approach shows how to make an expression as a mathematical form in predicting strip profile. This approach is based on the velocity field, shear stress and material flow on the strip edge along width direction and lateral displacement and stress along width are analytically calculated. Roll force is calculated in each section and then combined together to show roll force distribution along width. All the assumptions to make equation form for this approach are supported by FEM simulation result and the result of model is verified by FEM result. So, this model will supply very useful tool to the researcher and engineers which takes less time and has similar accuracy in predicting roll force profile comparing to FEM simulation. This model has to be combined with deformed roll profile model, which include thermal crown prediction and wear prediction model to predict deformed strip profile.

  • The shape of cold rolled steel sheets is the degree of flatness, and the flatter, the better. Because undesirable strip shapes of cold rolled steel sheets can affect not only visible problem but also automatic working process in customer's lines, the requirement of the customers is more and more stringent. So we usually used the tension leveler to make high quality of strip flatness. For the improvement of the quality of strip flatness, this report developed three-dimensional FEM (Finite Element Method) simulation model, and analysis about the strain and stress distribution of strip in the tension leveling process.
