  • Earlier program plagiarism check systems are performed by using simple text, attribute or token string base on match techniques. They have difficulties in checking program styles which have nothing to do with program syntax such as indentation, spacing and comments. This paper introduces a plagiarism check model which compares syntax-trees for the given programs. By using syntax-trees, this system can overcome the weekness of filtering program styles and have advantage of comparing the structure of programs by syntax and semantic analysis. Our study introduces syntactic tree creation, unparsing and similarity check algorithms about C/C++ program plagiarism checking for internet cyber education and estimate plagiarism pattern.

  • The cable tension plays an important role in the construction, assessment and long-term health monitoring of cable structures. The cable vibration equation is nonlinear if cable sag and bending stiffness are included. The engineering implementation of a vibration-based cable tension evaluation is mostly carried out by the simple taut string theory. However, the simple theory may cause unacceptable errors in many applications since the cable sag and bending stiffness are ignored. From the practical point of view, it is necessary to have empirical formulas if they are simple and yet accurate. Based on the solutions by means of energy method and fitting the exact solutions of cable vibration equations where the cable sag and bending stiffness are respectively taken into account, the empirical formulas are proposed in the paper to estimate cable tension based on the cable fundamental frequency only. The applicability of the proposed formulas is verified by comparing the results with those reported in the literatures and with the experimental results carried out on the stay cables in the laboratory. The proposed formulas are straightforward and they are convenient for practical engineers to fast estimate the cable tension by the cable fundamental frequency.

  • In the construction of successful fuzzy models for nonlinear systems, the identification of an optimal fuzzy model system is an important and difficult problem. Traditionally, sGA(simple genetic algorithm) has been used to identify structures and parameters of fuzzy model because it has the ability to search the optimal solution somewhat globally. But SGA optimization process may be the reason of the premature local convergence when the appearance of the superior individual at the population evolution. Therefore, in this paper we propose a new method that can yield a successful fuzzy model using VmGA(virus messy genetic algorithms). The proposed method not only can be the countermeasure of premature convergence through the local information changed in population, but also has more effective and adaptive structure with respect to using changeable length string. In order to demonstrate the superiority and generality of the fuzzy modeling using VmGA, we finally applied the proposed fuzzy modeling methodof a complex nonlinear system.

  • We ensure a flat and regular basic surface by using part of joint waterproofing improved sheet method applying the upper slab of a concrete structure. We solve the problem of getting loose scale the general sheet by waterproofing of the sheet and improving adhesive strength of the basic concrete. Also, waterproofing sheet union to problem of joint have solved using of insertion type method so that, it improved a watertightness. It has improved in resist impact, resist abrasion and it is the effect of shortened construction period and cutting down on construction expenses. Here are the special quality and superiority of this waterproofing research. (1) Level material has the super adhesive strength so that it makes the basic surface without the gab of waterproofing sheet and waterproofing layer with the string adhesive strength. (2) We unite the sheet with the joining part between sheets by waterproofing sheet joint using of method. (3) There is the effect of shortened construction period and cutting down on construction expenses without waterproofing of protection.

  • A guitar pickup is a transducer that converts string vibration to an electrical signal. The magnetic and piezo pickups are the most commonly used for the respective electric and electroacoustic guitars. The magnetic pickups are prone to magnetic interference between the steel strings and permanent magnets, while the piezo ones are not free from signal inference between the strings. Thus, this paper presents the development of an optical pickup for the electroacoustic guitar. The proposed optical pickup has the top-to-bottom structure. It uses two of Infrared (IR) Light Emitting Diode (LED) and one photodetector. The developed optical pickup is subjected to the evaluation with commonly used piezoelectric pickup. It becomes obvious that SNR with the optical pickup is increased by 45 percent in average, compared with the piezoelectric pickup. It can be concluded that the developed optical pickup has a potential to be applied to the acoustic guitar.

  • Recently, explosive popularity of multimedia information has triggered the need for retrieving multimedia contents efficiently from the database including audio, video and images. In this paper, we propose an XML-based retrieval scheme and a data model that complement the weak aspects of annotation and conent based retrieval methods. The Property and hierarchy structure of image and video data are represented and manipulated based on the Multimedia Description Schema (MDS) that conforms to the MPEG-7 standard. For audio contents, pitch contours extracted from their acoustic features are converted into UDR string. Especially, to improve the retrieval performance, user's access pattern and frequency are utilized in the construction of an index. We have implemented a prototype system and evaluated its performance through various experiments.

  • This paper presents a loop-based genetic algorithm for loss minimization of distribution systems by automatic sectionalizing switch operation in distribution systems. Genetic algorithm can be successfully applied to problem of loss minimization in distribution systems because it is suitable to solve combinatorial optimization problems. New loop-based string structure is proposed for generating the more feasible solutions, and the proposed restoration function converts infeasible solutions into feasible solutions. The loop-based genetic algorithm with sam adaptations have been applied to improve the computation time and convergence property. Numerical examples demonstrate the validity and effectiveness of the proposed methodology using a 32-bus and 69-bus system.

  • Aho-Corasick (AC) algorithm is a multiple patterns string matching algorithm commonly used in many applications with real-time performance requirements. In this paper, we parallelize the AC algorithm on the Intel's Many Integrated Core (MIC) Architecture, Xeon Phi Coprocessor. We propose a new technique to compress the Deterministic Finite Automaton structure which represents the set of pattern strings again which the input data is inspected for possible matches. The new technique reduces the cache misses and leads to significantly improved performance on Xeon Phi.

  • Fusobacterium nucleatum is a gram-negative bacteria associated with diverse infections like appendicitis and colorectal cancer. It mainly attacks the epithelial cells in the oral cavity and throat of the infected individual. It has a single circular genome of 2.7 Mb. Many proteins in F. nucleatum genome are listed as "Uncharacterized." Annotation of these proteins is crucial for obtaining new facts about the pathogen and deciphering the gene regulation, functions, and pathways along with discovery of novel target proteins. In the light of new genomic information, an armoury of bioinformatic tools were used for predicting the physicochemical parameters, domain and motif search, pattern search, and localization of the uncharacterized proteins. The programs such as receiver operating characteristics determine the efficacy of the databases that have been employed for prediction of different parameters at 83.6%. Functions were successfully assigned to 46 uncharacterized proteins which included enzymes, transporter proteins, membrane proteins, binding proteins, etc. Apart from the function prediction, the proteins were also subjected to string analysis to reveal the interacting partners. The annotated proteins were also put through homology-based structure prediction and modeling using Swiss PDB and Phyre2 servers. Two probable virulent factors were also identified which could be investigated further for potential drug-related studies. The assigning of functions to uncharacterized proteins has shown that some of these proteins are important for cell survival inside the host and can act as effective drug targets.
