대학병원과 개인병원 신장실 간호사의 스트레스 및 대처방법 비교 (Comparative Study on the Stress and the Coping Method between Nephrology Nurses Working in the Hospitals of University and the Hemodialysis Clinics)

  • Purpose: The purposes of this study are to examine and to compare factors causing stress and coping methods between nephrology nurses working in the Hospitals of University and the Hemodialysis Clinics. Method: Data were collected by a direct survey method using a questionnaire from August 13 to August 31, 2001. The sample of 137 nephrology nurses in the twenty-one Hospitals of University and 168 nephrology nurses in the twenty-six Hemodialysis Clinics were selected for a total sample of 305 nurses. Result: Stress according to general characteristics showed a significant difference in religion and in the level of satisfaction for their work. Stress score was the highest in the nurses whose religion was Buddhism(F=4.846, P=0.008) and in the group with 'dissatisfied' for the work in the Hemodialysis unit(F=3.193, P=0.014). The results analyzed coping method according to the general characteristics had a significant difference only in religion(F=16.237, P=0.000). The score for the coping method was the highest in Buddism. The score compared the satisfaction level for their work according to the hospital type, were 3.55 in the Hospital of University group and 3.35 in the Hemodialysis clinic group and these two values were significant different(p<0.05). The mean score of the stress nephrology nurses in the Hospitals of University is 2.79 and that of the stress nephrology nurses in the Hemodialysis clinics is 2.78 of 4 point scale. Among the factors causing stress, items related nursing work and conflict in nurse-patient relationship significantly caused more stress to the nephrology nurses in the Hospitals of University than to those in the Hemodialysis clinics(p<0.05). Conclusion: This study suggests that there were some differences in the stress and coping methods between nephrology nurses in the hospitals of University and the Hemodialysis clinics. Further study related to stress management program is needed to decrease stress and use effective coping methods.

국립공원 안전관리전담자들의 외상 후 스트레스 실태 및 관련요인 (Post-traumatic stress and related factors among safety managers in Korea National Parks)

  • Purpose: This study investigated the current status of post-traumatic stress and related factors among safety managers in Korea National Parks. Methods: The study subjects were 109 safety managers working in Korea National Parks. General characteristics, job-related characteristics, experience of traumatic events and post-traumatic stress were collected by self-reported questionnaires through the mail. The associated factors with post-traumatic stress was analyzed by t-test, ANOVA and multiple linear regression. Results: Overall score of post-traumatic stress was $10.32{\pm}11.37$ and 12.8% was the high-risk group of post-traumatic stress disorder. In simple analysis, score of post-traumatic stress was associated with drinking frequency, disease history, duration of career, delay of rescue, provided the break, rest space and the number of experiences of traumatic events. Finally, the score of post-traumatic stress was significantly higher in subjects who experienced 3 (B=9.141, SE=3.538) or more than 4 (B=11.367, SE=3.063) traumatic events compared to subjects without experience of traumatic event. Conclusion: The score of post-traumatic stress was $10.32{\pm}11.37$ and 12.8% was the high-risk group among safety managers in Korea National Parks. Post-traumatic stress was associated with the experience of traumatic events. Management of safety managers after mobilization or experience of traumatic events will be helpful to decrease of post-traumatic stress.

피톤치드 아로마테라피가 간호대학생의 스트레스, 스트레스 증상 및 심박변이도에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Phytoncide Aromatherapy on Stress, Symptoms of Stress and Heart Rate Variability among Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of phytoncide aromatherapy on stress, symptoms of stress and heart rate variability among nursing students. Methods: This study is a randomized control-group non-synchronized design. The experimental group (n=31) underwent phytoncide aromatherapy for 2 weeks, while the control group (n=31) received placebo therapy. The data were collected using self-administration questionnaires and measurement of heart rate variability (HRV) and analyzed using SPSS WIN 18.0 program. A p value <.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: Total score of stress, individual score of intrapersonal stress, and score of peripheral manifestations in symptoms of stress in the experimental group were significantly lower than those of the control group. All indices of HRV were significantly different between the two groups. LF norm and LF/HF ratio in the experimental group were significantly lower than those of the control group, and HF norm in the experimental group was significantly higher than that of in the control group. Conclusion: Based on these results, it can be suggested that phytoncide aromatherapy was effective in decreasing stress and peripheral manifestations of stress and changing in HRV among nursing students.

성인 여성들의 스트레스와 소화불량 및 수면장애와의 관련성 (A Study on Relationship between Degree of Stress and Dyspepsia, Sleeping, Satisfaction of Adult Women in Rural Area)

  • 경상북도 고령군 동 단위를 계통적 집락 표본추출에 의해 10개 동을 선정하여, 30-69세 여성 571명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 1차 조사는 1999년 8월 27일부터 9월 1일까지 6일간 실시하였고 조사율은 60.3%였으며, 2차 조사는 11월에 실시하였으며 조사 완료율은 91.8%였다. 조사내용은 대상자의 인구사회학적 특성, 건강행위, 소화불량증상, 수면유도시간 및 수면만족도, 스트레스 정도 등이다. 스트레스는 Cohen이 개발한 Perceived Stress Scale을 이용하였으며, 소화불량 증상 정도의 설문은 ulcer-like 4문항, reflux-like 2문항, motility-like 4문항, non-specific 1문항으로 총 11개 문항으로 측정하였다. 수면유도 시간은 분으로, 수면만족도는 10점 척도로 측정하였다. 연령별 소화불량 정도, 수면유도시간, 수면 만족도, 스트레스 정도에서 소화불량 정도는 44점 만점에 평균 13.4점이었으며, 수면유도시간은 평균 35분이었고, 수면만족도는 평균 7.9점이었으며, 50-59세 연령군에서 소화불량 정도가 가장 높고, 수면유도시간이 가장 길고, 수면만족도는 가장 낮았다. 스트레스 정도는 평균 18.3점이었으며, 40대와 50대가 18.7점으로 가장 높았다. 수면유도시간과 수면만족도는 연령군에 따라 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었으나(p<0.05), 소화불량 정도와 스트레스 정도는 연령에 따라 차이가 없었다. 스트레스 정도를 3분위 구분하여 소화불량 정도, 수면유도시간, 수면만족도를 비료하여 보았을 때, 50대에서 소화불량 정도와 수면유도시간이 가장 높고 길게 나타났으며, 수면 만족도는 가장 낮았다. 또한 스트레스 3분위 군간에 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다(p<0.01). 스트레스 정도와 수면만족도, 소화불량 정도간의 상관관계를 분석한 결과 스트레스와 수면만족도는 음의 상관관계가 있었고(p<0.01), 스트레스와 소화불량 정도간에는 양의 상관관계가 있었다(p<0.01). 또한 수면만족도와 소화불량 정도간에는 음의 상관관계가 있었다(p<0.01). 연령군별로 보면, 40대 이상에서 40대 미만보다 스트레스 정도와 소화불량 정도, 수면만족도간에 유의한 상관관계가 있었다. 교육수준별로는 중졸이하가 고졸이상에 비하여 스트레스 정도와 수면만족도, 소화불량과의 상관관계가 높았다. 소화불량 정도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 다중회귀분석을 이용하여 분석한 결과 스트레스 정도와 만성질환이 유의한 변수로 채택되었으며, 수면만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석한 결과 수면유도시간, 만성질환 보유 여부, 스트레스가 유의한 변수로 채택되었다. 농촌지역 성인 여성들은 50대에서 스트레스 수준이 가장 높으며, 수면 만족도는 가장 낮고, 소화불량을 많이 겪고 있는 것으로 나타나 이들 연령층에 대한 스트레스 관리가 필요한 것으로 판단되며, 또한 스트레스가 소화불량이나 수면만족도에 영향을 미치는 유의한 변수로 나타나 스트레스 관리를 통한 건강증진이 가능하다고 판단된다. 향후 스트레스에 대한 대응을 강화할 수 있는 대응자원에 대한 연구는 추가적으로 시행되어야 할 과제이며, 지역주민을 대상으로 한 스트레스 및 관련요인에 대한 연구가 시행되어 지역주민의 정신건강증진을 위한 방안들이 개발되어야 할 것이다.

Influence of Work Characteristics on the Association Between Police Stress and Sleep Quality

  • Background: Police officers' stress perception, frequency of stressful events (stressors), and police work characteristics may contribute to poor sleep quality through different mechanisms. Methods: We investigated associations of stress severity (measured by stress rating score) and frequency of stressors with sleep quality and examined the influence of police work characteristics including workload, police rank, prior military experience, and shift work on the associations. Participants were 356 police officers (256 men and 100 women) enrolled in the Buffalo Cardio-Metabolic Occupational Police Stress Study from 2004 to 2009. A mean stress rating score and mean frequency of stressors occurring in the past month were computed for each participant from the Spielberger Police Stress Survey data. Sleep quality was assessed using the global score derived from the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index survey. Linear associations of the stress rating score and frequency of stressors with sleep quality (Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index global score) were tested. Age, sex, race/ethnicity, and smoking status were selected as potential confounders. Results: The stress rating score was positively and independently associated with poor sleep quality (${\beta}=0.17$, p = 0.002). Only workload significantly modified this association (${\beta}=0.23$, p = 0.001 for high workload group; p-interaction = 0.109). The frequency of stressors was positively and independently associated with poor sleep quality (${\beta}=0.13$, p = 0.025). Only police rank significantly modified the association (${\beta}=0.007$, p = 0.004 for detectives/other executives; p-interaction = 0.076). Conclusion: Both police officers' perception of stress severity and the frequency of stressors are associated with poor sleep quality. Stress coping or sleep promotion regimens may be more beneficial among police officers reporting high workloads.

조기진통으로 입원한 임부 배우자의 스트레스 영향요인 (Factors Influencing Stress in Spouses of Hospitalized Women Diagnosed with Preterm Labor)

  • Purpose: The purpose of the study was to identify to identify the nursing needs and stress levels among spouses of women hospitalized with preterm labor, and to determine factors influencing spousal stress. Methods: Data were collected from 95 spouses of hospitalized pregnant women due to preterm labor at a hospital in Gyeonggi province from June to December of 2016. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple linear regression. Results: The mean score of spouses' nursing needs was 3.06±0.42 and stress was 1.85±0.44 out of 4.00. The highest score of nursing needs was 3.37±0.51 in assurance and the highest score for stress was 2.26±0.72 for patient's illness and prognosis. There was a significant positive correlation between stress in spouse and nursing needs (p=.004). Stress was explained by nursing needs (β=.28) and hospitalization days (β=.21). Conclusions: The results of this study suggest that appropriate nursing interventions are required to address the nursing needs at the beginning of hospitalization and to reduce the stress among spouses of hospitalized pregnant women diagnosed with preterm labor.

교사의 근골격계 질환 및 직무 스트레스의 분석을 통한 직무 유해요인에 관한 연구 (A Study on Job Hazard Factors through Analysis of Musculoskeletal Diseases and Job Stress of Teachers)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 교사의 직무 스트레스와 직업성 근골격계 질환 유해요인을 규명하고, 직무형태에 따라 유해요인 제거에 관한 해결책 도모 및 개선방안을 도출하고자 함이다. 서울 소재 내 초·고등학교 교사 총 168명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 그 결과, 교사의 평균 RULA점수는 4.2점이었으며, 근골격계 질환을 호소하지 않는 교사의 RULA 평균 점수는 4.3점으로 나타났다. 또한, 교원의 직무스트레스 평균 점수는 58.9점으로, 요인별 스트레스 점수의 경우, 학생지도, 업무의 과부담, 권위상실, 조직구조와 교육과정, 대우 및 복지, 인간관계 순이었다. 교사의 RULA와 직무스트레스 점수를 분석한 결과, 직업으로 인한 근골격계 질환과 직무 스트레스 간 상관성을 도출해낼 수 있었다.

대학생의 자기효능감, 건강증진 행위와 스트레스 증상과의 상관관계 (Self Efficacy, Health Promoting Behaviors, and Symptoms of Stress among University Students)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between self efficacy (SE), health promoting behaviors (HPB) and symptoms of stress (SOS) among university students. Method: Data was collected by questionnaires from 369 university students in Seoul, Korea. Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, pearson correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: The mean score for SE was 3.42, the mean score for HPB was 2.48, and the mean score for SOS was 2.31. The score of SOS showed a significantly negative correlation with the score of SE (r=-.24, p=.00) and HPB (r=-.13, r=.00). Also, SOS showed a significantly negative correlation with diet HPB (r=-.15, p=.00), spiritual growth HPB (r=-.17, p=.00), interpersonal relationship HPB (r=-.17, p=.00), and stress management HPB (r=-.10, p=.04). The most powerful predictor of SOS was SE and the variance was $10\%$. A combination of SE, diet, problems related to drinking, and responsibility for health HPB account for $16\%$ of the variance in SOS among university students. Conclusion: This study suggests that SE and HPB are significant influencing factors on SOS among university students.

소방공무원의 탄력성과 외상후성장이 외상후스트레스 증상에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Resilience and Posttraumatic Growth on Posttraumatic Stress Symptoms in Korean Firefighters)

  • Objective : One of the aims of this study was to confirm the relationship in firefighters who have a high risk of developing posttraumatic stress disorder. We also explored the mediation effects of resilience and posttraumatic growth (PTG) on the association between traumatic experiences and posttraumatic stress symptoms. Methods : A total of 677 firefighters were assessed in terms of the intensity of job-related traumatic experiences using the Visual Analogue Scale. They completed the Korean version of the Posttraumatic Growth Inventory (PTGI), the Korean version of the Impact of Event Scale-Revised (IES-R), and the Korean version of the 10-item Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC-10). Results : The intensity of traumatic experiences was significantly negatively related to the CD-RISC-10 score, but it was positively related to the PTGI and the IES-R scores. The CD-RISC-10 score had a significantly positive correlation with the PTGI score, but it was negatively correlated to the IES-R score. Path analyses revealed that resilience and PTG independently mediated the association between traumatic experiences and posttraumatic stress symptoms. Conclusion : These results suggest that traumatic experiences contribute to posttraumatic stress symptoms and that these impacts may be mediated through resilience and PTG.

임상간호사의 직무 스트레스와 자기효능감이 우울에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Job-stress and Self-efficacy on Depression of Clinical Nurses)

  • Purpose: The purpose was to investigate the relations among job-stress, self-efficacy, and depression of nurses. Methods: The data were collected from a random sample of 213 nurses working in two general hospitals of a local area. A self-reported questionnaire was used to assess the level of job-stress, self-efficacy, and depression. Results: The mean score of job-stress was 49.1 and the score of job demand was the highest. The mean score of self-efficacy was 3.4, and depression was 18.2. The prevalence of depression was very high. The job-stress and depression were negatively correlated with self-efficacy. Hierarchial multiple regression showed that the self-efficacy and the high job demand, lack of reward, and organizational injustice of job-stress explained 53% of the variance for the nurses' depression. Conclusion: The findings indicated that the self-efficacy and job stress, especially job demand, organizational injustice, and lack of reward contributed to the depression. In order to prevent and decrease the depression, the developing programs to improve self-efficacy are needed.
