The objective of this research is to study on the formations of thermal stratification in a room in case of several furniture fires such as trashcan, chair, carpet, sofa, mattress and wardrobe as a fire starter in a residential room by performing the experimental studies. The uniformly distributed fire in case of carpet showed that the ignition and the initial growth period were relatively short while the fully developed period was considerably long. The concentrated fires such as the mattress and wardrobe showed that the ignitions and the initial growth periods were relatively long. When fire spread to only one direction, like the case for the trashcan with a regular shape, there was one peak of temperature profile, and for the irregular shaped furniture such as chair, sofa, mattress and wardrobe, there were two or more peaks. The interface heights for the furniture fires were around 1(m) mataining constant state. However, at the time of the maximum temperature, the interface height was lowered to 0.25(m)-0.75(m) from the floor

Landslide is a natural disaster frequently noticed In korea during monsoon season in flicting nationwise damages on human lives, properties, transportation networks, construction sites, etc. This study is about landslide characteristic in rainfall. This study selects seven sites that occured in 2001 and 2002. So elect areas divide and studied special quality by carcinoma by igneous rock, metamorphic rock, sedimentary rock. According to study finding, because igneous rock area is very thin into 1m interior and exterior soil layer, failures happened much rock and soil interface. There was place that depth of soil layer becomes about 2∼3m being area that receive serious weathering case of metamorphic rock. Therefore, at collapse much debriflow occurrence expect. Case that sedimentary rock area is broken through stratification looked. When see such results, it may become many helps to study characteristics of landslide occurrence area grasping collapse special quality by rock type.

A new dispersion model for dense gas is constructed in the Lagrangian framework. Prediction of concentration by the proposed model is compared with measure data obtained in the experiment conducted in Thorney Island in 1984. Two major effects of dense gas dispersion, gravity slumping and stratification effect, are successfully incorporated into LDM (Lagrangian dense gas model). Entrainment effect is naturally modelled by introducing stochastic dispersion model with the effect of turbulence suppression by stratification. Not only various releasing conditions but also complex terrain can be extended to, although proposed model is appropriate for flat terrain.
