  • This paper examines export promotion plans of digital content industries, particularly of game, animation & character industry based on the OSMU(One-source Multi-Use) strategy. As the digital content industry is one of the newest industries as a source of strategic export, we must promote the export of digital contents that hold so much international competitiveness and through that promotion, we have to strengthen the international competitive power. The game, animation & character contents are very easy to adapt each other for creating new contents by omnidirectional OSMU. Therefore, it is intended to present some primary factor for export promotion of game, animation & character contents through the OSMU strategy.

Roadmapping for the Export of Space Segment Based on Portfolio Analysis: A Case of Korea

  • The space industry is a comprehensive and technology-intensive industry involving different converging technologies. However, most of the companies in Korea's space industry are small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and need to strengthen global capacity to export their products. However, the link between the destination country and the product remains insufficient. Consequently, the purpose of this study is to propose an export roadmap for space products to provide SMEs with export opportunities and strategic guidelines. For this, technology roadmap and portfolio analysis are applied to this purpose. This study is expected to be helpful to SMEs and government agencies.

Japan's Export Regulations and Korea's Investment Attraction Strategy: Focusing on the Parts and Materials Industry

  • Purpose - In this paper, we provide recommendations for Korea's long-term direction and strategic measures to attract inward foreign direct investment (FDI) in response to Japan's export regulations. In doing so, we analyze the current situation and characteristics of trade between Korea and Japan, focusing on the parts and materials industry, which is particularly affected by Japan's trade regulations. Design/methodology - Based on the analysis of five successful inward FDI cases (e.g. Toray, IGK, Delkor, GlobalWafers, DuPont) and statistic trend review in the parts and materials industry, we consider various factors pertaining to successful inward FDI in Korea and propose valuable investment attraction strategies. Findings - For a successful investment attraction strategy, we studied some statistical trends in the internal and external environments of the parts and materials industry and successful investment attraction cases in Korea. We have found that in order to increase the probability of success in attracting investment, we need a mid-to long-term strategy considering multiple factors such as "Production-oriented, Demand-linked, Global Value Chain (VGC) linked, and Policy-linked investment attraction." Originality/value - We suggest several specific measures and important strategic implications for the Korean government and firm's managers to attract inward FDI successfully.

  • 국내 농업이 가지고 있는 구조적 문제와 해외시장 진입에 대한 전략과 실행력 부족으로 인해 농식품 수출시장 경쟁력이 향상되지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 이러한 환경에서 본 연구는 우리나라 수출농업 활성화를 위해 농식품 수출부문의 경쟁력을 제고시킬 수 있는 공급사슬관리 관점에서의 현실적이고 전략적인 비즈니스모델을 제안하였다. 제안된 농식품 수출물류 비즈니스모델은 농식품 수출물류센터를 중심으로 공급사슬 상의 구성원들을 효율적으로 통합 관리 할 수 있는 모델이다. 수출물류센터는 수출물류 시스템 구축, 해외시장 개척, 수출을 위한 전략적 상품 발굴과 개발 등 농식품 수출 효율화를 기반으로 대기업의 가공식품과 중소업체의 농식품을 동시에 유통하는 상품믹스, 수출물류 물적 프로세스적 시스템 구축, 해외시장 개척과 목표시장의 접근성 확보 등으로 구성된 농식품 수출증대를 위한 통합모델이다.

  • The Purpose of this study is working out of the scientific-theoretical and practical recommendations directed on perfection of strategic planning of development of the enterprises of mining and gold mining branch. The methodological basis of research is based on the economic theory developed by a domestic and foreign science. At processing, generalisation and a writing of materials of the master's thesis following methods were applied: - supervision, - comparison, - the analysis and synthesis, - methods of an induction and deduction, - statistical groupings, - average and relative sizes, - the system approach. Finally, the theoretical and practical importance of this research consists that results of research will allow generating a basis of statement of effective system of strategic planning of a long-term sustainable development of the gold mining enterprises reducing risk of acceptance of inefficient strategic decisions.   • Korean export of fashion products to the U.S. has fallen off sharply after 2001. Now, Korean fashion companies have to develop higher value-added business. In the U.S., Korean-American fashion companies are taking a primary role in up-stream of the fashion industry. To cut the edge over the U.S. fashion companies, one of the solutions could be to build the business relationship with Korean fashion companies which reflect the recent trend rapidly and have high quality production. On this study, we investigated the marketing strategies of Korean-American fashion companies to seek to start business with Korean fashion companies and make suggestions for Korean fashion companies who want to enter into the U.S. market effectively. To analyze current situation of Korean export to the U.S. and the U.S. fashion industry, we considered various kinds of statistic data, publications and studies. And we performed in-depth interviews with 9 Korean-American fashion companies in LA from $9^{th}$ to $21^{st}$ of July. The results are as follows. first, Korean fashion companies should aim for high-end market with the products of high quality and design. Second, there should be professional agents who manage Korean small-medium fashion companies and connect them with Korean-American fashion companies. Third, Korean fashion companies who want to enter into the retail market of the U.S. have to decide the target market clearly and plan strategic and differentiated merchandising. Fourth, Korean fashion companies can specialize in product developing service like proposing a product or a merchandising line as a package including designs, fabric swatches, trims, production information, etc.

중소기업 수출지원제도 실효성 연구 - 한국의 수출마케팅 지원프로그램을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Effectiveness of Government Export Supports for SMEs : Based on Export Maketing Support Program in South Korea)

  • This paper intends to increase the performance of export support programs for small-to-medium sized firms promoted by Korea government. A research construct is suggested for effective government support program targeted on the global marketing capability. The data is collected from the firms received the support more than once by Korean governments. The results are shown as follows. First, it is found that those firms who have high propensity to be involved in export business have shown high performance. Second, the firms with high global marketing capability have shown good performance. To be more specific, organizational commitment, strategic initiative, business differentiation, and market knowledge for target markets are found to be critical factors in successful export support program. The business differentiation strategy in target market is very critical. Finally, the degree of program management effectiveness is found to be important in high performance firms. It means that for those firms, much more advanced programs need to be developed. The government should develop diversified programs by considering the degree of global marketing capability.

  • 본 연구는 수출벤처기업을 대상으로 기업가적 지향성, 흡수능력, 전략적 능력 및 기업성과간의 관계를 밝히는데 연구목적이 있다. 기존 선행연구를 기초로 기업가적 지향성, 흡수능력, 전략적 능력 및 기업성과간의 관계를 가설로 설정하였고, 이를 검정하기 위해 필요한 자료는 설문조사를 통해 수집하였다. 본 연구모델 검정에는 구조방정식모델인 PLS분석방법을 활용하였다. 실증분석 결과에서 다음과 같은 결과가 도출되었다. 첫째, 기업가적 지향성은 흡수능력에 유의적인 정의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 기업가적 지향성은 전략적 능력인 기술능력, 마케팅능력 및 시장연계능력에 각각 유의적인 정의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 흡수능력은 기술능력, 마케팅능력 및 시장연계능력에 각각 유의적인 정의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 전략적 능력 중에서 기술능력과 마케팅능력은 기업성과에 각각 유의적인 정의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 반면, 시장연계능력은 기업성과에 유의적인 영향을 미치지 못하는 것으로 나타났다.
