초음파리니어 모터의 설계 및 해석 (Design and FEM Analysis of Ultrasonic Linear Motor)

  • This paper deals with a flat type ultrasonic motor, which uses a longitudinal-bending multi mode vibrator of rectangular form. A linear ultrasonic motor was designed by combination of the first longitudinal and eighth bending mode, and the motor consisted of a straight aluminum alloy bar bonded with piezoelectric ceramic elements as a driving element. The geometrical dimensions of the rectangular aluminum vibrator were determined by Euler-Bernoulli theory ANSYS was used to analyze the resonance frequency and the displacement of the stator vibrator. The resonance frequency of the motor provides the elliptical motion. and ANSYS was used to analyze elliptical motion and elliptical trajectory of stator vibrator when thickness of piezoelectric ceramics was varied respectively 0.763, 1.526, 2.289[mm] and width of stator vibrator was varied respectively 16, 12, 8, 4[mm]. When thickness of piezoelectric ceramics was decreased, the displacement of the stator vibrator was increased. And when width of stator vibrator was decreased, the displacement of the stator vibrator was increased.

시뮬레이션에 의한 성덕대왕 신종 음관의 특성 (A Simulation for the Characteristics of the Sound-Pipe of King Song-Dok Bell)

  • To investigate the characteristics of the sound-pipe on the top of King Song-Dok bell, using computer simulation, the throat impedance was evaluated for the straight pipe and conical pipes with varying taper angles. When sound propagates in a rigid walled, unflanged circular pipe with wavelength larger than radius, the acoustic motion is planar, much as in a bar. The incident sound waves are reflected at the end of pipe and some of them are transmitted. The reflection coefficient and radiation impedance of the sound-pipe of King Song-Dok bell were calculated, and the results demonstrated that the high frequency sound is radiated through the sound-pipe. It behaves like a frequency filter.

  • An understanding of the natural frequencies of a beam is virtually a prerequisite to the understanding of its response in forced vibration due to shock, ground acceleration or moving loads. Contrary to the frequencies of the prismatic bars with arbitrary boundary conditions, those of a tapered bar are hard to determine when one employs convevtional neutral equilibrium or energy method. In this paper, finite element method is adopted to determine the fundamental frequencies of the non-symmetrically tapered bars. The bars assume the shapes of straight lines along the axis. The parameters considered in this study are sectional parameter, m,n and taper parameter, $\alpha$ For the structural engineer's convenience, the results by finite element method are expressed by simple algebraic equations, by which first mode frequencies are easily estimated. And they agree fairy well with those by F.E.M in most cases.

측방 눈 주시가 유발이음향방사 청각기능에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Eye Lateralization on Transient Evoked Otoacoustic Emissions of Auditory Function)

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to investigate the interrelationship between eye movement and auditory function through the effects of eye lateralization on transient evoked otoacoustic emissions of auditory function. Methods : 25 subjects with complete set of ears were used in this study, which composed of 12 males and 13 females with pure tone threshold of below 25 dB without otolaryngology were evaluated. Each of the patient has a visual acuity of greater than 1.0 after correction, and has no problems with eye disease, eye movement, and human parallel system. In a dark silent room, the subjects sat on a chair with their heads fixed on a headrest. The tests were performed by asking the patients to look at a fixed red light dot on a light bar in front of them. This light was directed to the front, right and left sides of the subject at an angle of 40 ° In the presence of the stimulus sound in the ipsilateral ear, the transient evoked otoacoustic emissions of the ipsilateral ear was measured at the straight, right and left fixation. In order to evaluate the transient evoked otoacoustic emissions through the efferent auditory pathway, the transient evoked otoacoustic emission values of the contralateral ear were measured at the straight, right and left fixation. These measurements were taken at frequencies of 1 kHz, 1.4 kHz, 2.0 kHz, 2.8 kHz and 4 kHz, respectively. Results : Transient evoked otoacoustic emissions caused by lateral movement of the eye showed significant changes at 1.4 KHz and 2 KHz of the afferent pathway of the ipsilateral ear. Also, significant changes were observed at 1.4 KHz and 4 KHz of the efferent pathway of the contralateral ear. Conclusion : These results indicated that there is a close relationship between eye movement and auditory cochlea. In the future, further studies considering more diverse subjects and age groups will be needed.

  • A linear ultrasonic motor was designed by a combination of the first longitudinal and fourth bending mode, and the motor consisted of a straight aluminum alloys bar bonded with a piezoelectric ceramic element as a driving element. That is,$L_1-B_4$ linear ultrasonic motor can be constructed by a multi-mode vibrator of longitudinal and bending modes. Linear ultrasonic motors are based on an elliptical motion on the surface elastic body, such as bar or plates. In general, the natural resonance frequency of the stator is used as a driving frequency of the motor which provides a large elliptical motion. The corresponding eigenmode of one resonance frequency can be excited twice at the same time with a Phase shift of 90 degrees in space and time. And the rotation can be reversed by changing the phase between the two signals from sin$\omega$t to cos$\omega$t. Moreover, the tangential force pushes the slider(rotor) and, therefore, determines the thrust and speed of the motor. The experimental results of fabrication motors, bimorph-tyPe motor showed more excellent than unimorph-type. The maximum speed of TBL-200, TBL-300, TBL-400, TBL -220, TBL-310 and TBL-420 motors were 0.12, 0.37, 0.39, 0.14, 0.55 and $0.60ms6{-1}$, respectively. And the efficiency were reported 1.15, 7.9, 6.6, 2.36, 10.1 and 16.5%, respectively. That time, output thrust of the motor was a strong(1~2N) and the weight of stator was a lightness(5~7g).

축소형 초고압 분사 시스템의 노즐 형상에 따른 초음속 액체 제트 분무 특성에 관한 연구 (Spray Characteristics of Supersonic Liquid Jet by a Nozzle Geometry of Miniature High-Pressure Injection System)

  • 고압관, 가압관, 발사관으로 구성된 Ballistic Range의 일종인 2단식 경가스 총을 사용하여 초음속 액체 제트의 분무 특성을 연구하였다. 135 bar의 압축공기는 고압관과 가압관 사이에 OHP필름으로 구성된 격막을 파열시킨 후 가압관의 발사체를 약 250 m/s의 속도로 가속하였다. 가속된 발사체는 액체 저장부에 충돌하여 액체를 초고압으로 가압한 후 초음속으로 분사시키며, 특히 초음속 액체 제트는 미립화된 다중 제트의 형태를 나타내고 액체 제트 전방 영역에서 충격파를 수반한다. 다양한 분사 노즐의 기하학적 형상에 대한 분무시험결과 초음속 액체 제트의 속도와 충격파 각도가 각각 다르게 생성되었으며, L/d가 9.9, 11.9, 23.8의 조건에 대하여 L/d가 23.8의 경우에 액체 제트의 분사속도가 마하수 1.53으로 가장 낮게 측정되었다.

3차원 공간에서 코일스프링의 강성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Stifness of Coil Spring in the Three Dimensional Space)

  • Springs are widely utilized in machine element. To find out stiffness of coil spring, the space beam theory using the finite element method is adopted in this paper. In three dimensional space, a space frame element is a straight bar of uniform cross section which is capable of resisting axial forces, bending moments about two principal axes in the plane of its cross section and twisting moment about its centroidal axis. The corresponding displacement degrees of freedom are twelve. The displacements of nodal points due to small increment of force are calculated by the finite element method and the calculated nodal displacements are added to coordinates of nodal points. The new stiffness matrix of the system using the new coordinates of nodal points is adopted to calculated the another increments of nodal displacements, that is, the step by step method is used in this paper. The results of the finite element method are fairly well agreed with those of various experiments. Using MATLAB program developed in this paper, spring constants can be predicted by input of few factors.

원추형 코일스프링의 강성해석 (Analysis of Stiffness for Frustum-shaped Coil Spring)

The corresponding displacement degrees of freedom are twelve. To find out load vector of coil spring subjected to distributed compression. principle of virtual work is adapted. And this theory was programming using MATLAB software. To compare FEM using MATLAB software was applied MSC. Nastran software. The geometry model for MSC. Patran was produced by 3-D design modeling software. Finite element model was produced by MSC. Patran. Finite element was applied tetra (CTETRA) having 10 node. The analysis results of the MATLAB and MSC. Nastran are fairly well agreed with those of various experiments. Using MATLAB program proposed in this paper and MSC. Nastran, spring constants and stresses can be predicted by input of few factors.

  • A linear ultrasonic motor was designed by a combination of the first longitudinal and fourth bending mode, the motor consisted of a straight aluminum alloys bar bonded with a piezoelectric ceramics element as a driving element. That is, L$_1$-B$_4$ linear ultrasonic motor can be constructed using a multi-mode vibrator of longitudinal and bending modes. The simulation with variation of material characteristics of piezoceramic were performed as use of finite element analysis ANSYS 5.5, such as elastic compliance, piezoelectric constant, electro-mechanical coupling coefficient, poisson's ratio and density. The results of simulation, elastic compliance constant s$_{11}$ and piezoelectric constant d$_{31}$ had the most of influence on the elliptic-motion. This results consist with using transverse effect of material. The used motor were piezoceramics of 4 layers, and the dimensions were 65$\times$5$\times$3.5mm(LxWxt).).

전산유체해석(CFD)을 이용한 밸브의 급폐쇄에 따른 다중 배관 수격 현상에 관한 연구 (Study on a Multi-pipe Water Hammer Phenomenon by using CFD of Rapid Valve Closing)

  • This study was to investigate characteristics for the pressure wave propagation and the maximum pressure near a rapid closure valve which was installed the end of multi piping network. The multi piping network consists of one inlet and three outlet with straight pipes. The diameter of the pipes including the valve was 100 mm, 80 mm, 80 mm respectively. The valve was rapidly closed with the instantaneous time which was 0.023s in the level for the water hammer. For the simulation, the influence of the pipe thickness and deformation due to pressure-wave-propagation was not considered. CFD was conducted under the following condition : the initial pressure was 1bar in the inlet and the mass flow rate was 7.83 kg/s in the outlet(the velocity in the pipe with 100 mm diameter was 1 m/s). As the valve have conditions that were status with and without fluid flow in the pipe after valve closing, the maximum pressure change and the frequency analysis were examined. As the results, the case that was status with fluid flow appeared the higher maximum pressure than another's, the maximum frequency band was about 10 ~ 11 Hz.
