The Effect of Solid Fraction on the Casting Formability in Vertical Type Squeeze Casting Process

  • 레오다이캐스팅 공정은 용탕상태의 원소재로부터 최종형상에 가장 가까운 정형제품(near-net shape)을 원하는 기계적 성질과 동시에 경제적으로 생산할 수 있는 제조방법으로 개발되어 왔다. 본 논문에서는 전자교반 시스템을 이용하여 결정립이 제어된 반용융 상태의 소재를 수직형 다이캐스팅기를 사용하여 리어파트(rear parts) 자동차 부품을 성형실험 하였다. 성형된 시제품들은 성형조건에 따른 조직 및 인장강도를 관찰하였으며, 시효경화 시간에 따른 T6 최적 열처리 조건을 조사하였다.

천연 점토를 이용한 Pb(II)의 흡착에 관한연구

  • This study was carried out to investigate characteristics and Pb(II) removal effect of natural clays in the batch mode test. The effect of parameters such as temperature, adsorption time and coexisting cations on the sorption ability and characteristics was investigated to find out whether the clays could be used as adsorbents. Several natural clays from domestic have been investigated to have high specific surface area and have minerals such as SiO$_2$ and $Al_2$O$_3$. As a result, removal effects of Pb(II) on clays were reached at equilibrium in aqueous solutions by stirring about 20 minutes. The removal effect of Pb(II) was best for Kang Jin clay than other clays in terms of fixed time. Adsorption efficiency was not influenced by the possibility of continuous treatment system of wastewater which contain heavy metals by using natural clays from domestic.

Effect of reaction factors on the characteristics of Ni-coating layer onto graphite (흑연표면의 니켈코팅층 특성에 미치는 반응인자의 영향)

  • Ni-graphite composite powders were prepared by reduction of $Ni^{++}$ from ammoniacal nickel sulfate solution on graphite core by hydrogen gas. Effect of reaction factors on the reduction rate and the properties of nickel layer were investigated by SEM, Optical Microscopy, size and chemical analysis. Induction period, a time lag between the injection of hydrogen gas and the start of the reduction, was 20~110 mins and affected by the reaction temperature and stirring speed. The reduction rate of $Ni^{++}$ was $4.5g/{\ell}/min$ at optimum condition and increased with increasing reaction temperature and stirring speed.

Microstructure and Properties of Ni-SiC Composite Coating Layers Formed using Nano-sized SiC Particles (SiC 나노입자를 이용하여 형성한 Ni-SiC 복합도금막의 미세구조 및 특성)

  • Ni-SiC composite coating layers were formed using two kinds of SiC nano-particles by DC electrodeposition in a nickel sulfamate bath containing SiC particles. The effect of stirring rate and SiC particle type on the microstructure and properties of Ni-SiC composite coating layers were investigated. Results revealed that the trend of deposition rate is closely related to the codeposition of SiC and the deposition rate. or nickel, and the codeposition behavior of SiC can be explained by using hydrodynamic effect due to stirring. The average roughness and friction coefficient are closely related to the codeposition of SiC and SiC particle size. It was found that the Victors microhardness of the composite coating layers increased with increasing codeposition of SiC. The composite coating layers containing smaller SiC particle showed higher hardness. This can be explained by using the strengthening mechanism resulting from dispersion hardening. Anti-wear property of the composite coating layers formed using 130 nm-sized SiC nano-particles has been improved by 2,300% compared with pure electroplated-nickel layer.

  • Ultrasound-assisted dissolution of U3O8 powder in carbonate solution was explored to determine if and how ultrasound act during the dissolution. The variation of U3O8 solid particles and uranyl complexes under ultrasound treatment and magnetic stirring was observed in carbonate media. The results show that the use of ultrasound can increase the solubility and dissolution rate of U3O8 powder than that under magnetic stirring. The crush of U3O8 particles and the reduction of the activation energy (Ea, kJ/mol) of U3O8 dissolution reaction were observed, which both play an important role in the ultrasonic-assisted dissolution of U3O8 in carbonate-peroxide solution. Meanwhile, there is no observation of the ultrasound effect on the distribution of uranyl species and hydrolysis of uranyl complexes during the ultrasound treatment in carbonate-peroxide solution. Although the generation of ·OH radicals under ultrasound (22 ± 2 kHz) was observed, the oxidation of ·OH had little effect on the dissolution of U3O8 in the carbonate-peroxide solution system.

  • In this study, the synthesis of PZT powder by bubble column reactor was investigated at various reaction conditions. As a result, the volume % of $NH_3$ gas used as a precipitator had no effect on the synthesis, but the more research is needed to control particle size.As a carrier gas, Ar, $O_2$ and air only increased the stirring effect but had no effect chemically on the synthesis. The calcination temperature of prepared PZT powder was about $500-600^{\circ}C$ and the meanparticle size of synthesized PZT powder was about $0.17{\mu}m$. The grain size of sintered body is about $0.5~3{\mu}m$ and this is similar with the value of commercial products.

  • Fluid flows within microchannels are characterized by low Reynolds numbers. Therefore the effect of mixing is a crucial factor in design of the channels. Since the action of the electro-osmotic or magnetic forces used in the mixing enhancement is usually periodic in the three-dimensional channel configuration, use of the various concepts of chaotic advection is reasonable in the quantification of the stirring effect. In this paper, the details of the method of material-stretching mapping is explained. The actual application of the method to the screw extruder is also presented.

  • Effect of ultrasonic agitation on Pd catalyst treatment was studied in metallization of ceramic boards by Cu electroless plating method.96% $Al_{2}$$O_{3}$ ceramic boards were used as substrate. In this study, the ultrasonic frequency of 28kHz was applied. In Pd catalyst, high density Pd nuclei of small size were formed during ultrasonic agitation. Density of Pd was more improved when using of ultrasonic then no stirring. In electroless plating, plating rate was in the range of 0.6~1.8$\mu\textrm{m}$/hr, which value increased with Rochelle Salts addition. Adhesion strength between ceramic boards and Cu layer was improved of 20% when using ultrasonic agitation at $30^{\circ}C$ ,5min.

  • In this study, an innovative semi-solid die casting technology to replace heavier cast iron compressor parts with lightweight aluminum castings was proposed, and the application possibility for home-appliance component was investigated. The most important factors regarding the semi-solid die casting process are the reheating process of the raw materials to the semi-solid state, specifications of the forming machine, the optimal injection conditions and die design. Materials used in this study were A3S7 and hSn alloys fabricated by the electromagnetic stirring process. The optimal injection conditions for semi-solid die casting process were Presented with the reheating conditions of the semi-solid materials. To investigate the effect of plunger tip shape on the formability and mechanical properties in semi-solid die casting process for complicated shape part, two kinds of plunger tip shape with long and short plunger tip taper are proposed.
