농산부산물과 버섯 수확 후 배지가 구름버섯의 균사생장에 미치는 영향 (Effect of agricultural and spent mushroom substrate on the mycelial growth of Trametes versicolor)

  • 표고, 느타리, 큰느타리, 팽이, 노루궁뎅이 수확 후 배지에 균사 생장과 밀도를 조사한 결과, 대조구에서 균사 생장이 72 mm/20일이나 처리구에서 느타리 수확 후 배지 고춧대에서 73 mm/20일로 대조구보다 우수하였다. 균사 밀도도 대조구와 비슷한 양상을 나타내었다. 농산부산물 배지이용 버섯 균사생장과 밀도의 영향을 조사한 결과, 대조구 균사 생장이 74 mm/20일, 고춧대에서 101 mm/20일로 대조구보다 우수하였다.

Induction of Systemic Resistance in Watermelon to Gummy Stem Rot by Plant Growth-Promoting Rhizobacteria

  • The selected five plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) strains, WR8-3 (Pseudomonas fluorescens), WR8-6 (P. putida), WR9-9 (P. fluorescens), WR9-11 (Pseudomonas sp.), and WR9-16 (P. putida) isolated in the rhizosphere of watermelon plants were tested on their growth promotion and control effect against gummy stem rot of watermelon. Strains, WR8-3 and WR9-16 significantly increased stem length of watermelon, and there was a little increase in leaf area, fresh weight and root length when strains, WR8-3, WR9-9 and WR9-16 were treated. Generally, seed treatment was better for plant growth promotion than the soil drench, but there was no significant difference. Seed treatment and soil drench of each bacterial strain also significantly reduced the mean lesion area (MLA) by gummy stem rot, but there was no significant difference between the two treatments. At initial inoculum densities of each strain ranging from 10$^6\;to\;10^{15}$ cfu/g seed, approximately the same level of disease resistance was induced. But resistance induction was not induced at the initial inoculum density of 10$^3$ cfu/g seed. Resistance was induced by treating the strains, WR9-9, WR9-11 and WR9-16, on all of four watermelon varieties tested, and there was no significant difference in the decrease of gummy stem rot among varieties. Populations of the strains treated initially at log 9-10 cfu/g seed, followed with a rapid decrease from planting day to 1 week after planting, but the population density was maintained above log 5.0 cfu/g soil until 4 weeks after planting. Generally no or very weak in vitro antagonism was observed at the strains treated excepting WR9-11. Rifampicin-resistant bacteria which had been inoculated were not detected in the stems or leaves, which suggesting that the bacterium and the pathogens remained spatially separated during the experiment. This is the first report of rsistance induction in watermelon to gummy stem rot by PGPR strains.

가평지역 낙엽송림의 바이오매스와 영급별 줄기 밀도 및 바이오매스 확장계수 추정 연구 (A Study on Estimation of Biomass, Stem Density and Biomass Expansion Factor for Stand Age Classes of Japanese Larch (Larix leptolepis) Stands in Gapyeong Area)

  • 본 연구는 경기도 가평군 일대의 낙엽송 임분 3개 영급 단위(1-2영급, 3-4영급, 5-6영급)에서 바이오매스 추정식을 개발하고 이를 바탕으로 바이오매스, 줄기 밀도, 바이오매스 확장계수를 추정한 것이다. 1-2영급, 3-4영급, 5-6영급에서 낙엽송 개체목의 평균 건중량(kg/tree)은 각각 57.8, 185.4, 1047.9, 지상부 바이오매스(ton/ha)는 71.1, 195.6, 180.6, 임목 전체 바이오매스(ton/ha)는 96.3, 265.7, 244.5 등으로 나타났다. 영급 단위가 증가함에 따라 줄기의 구성비(%)는 53.9, 55.7, 57.7 등으로 증가하였지만 잎의 구성비는 7.1, 4.5, 2.3 등으로 감소하였다. 뿌리와 지상부의 건중량 비는 모든 영급 단위에서 0.35로 나타났다. 줄기 밀도($g/cm^3$)는 영급 단위별로 각각 0.39, 0.48, 0.50 등으로 나타났고, 1-2영급과 3영급 이상 간에 차이를 보였다. 지상부 바이오매스 확장계수와 임목 전체 바이오매스 확장계수의 범위는 각각 1.31-1.44, 1.26-1.94 등으로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과 영급 단위에 따른 임분 밀도 차이가 바이오매스 추정 회귀식과 줄기 밀도 및 바이오매스 확장계수에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

Neuropeptide Y-based recombinant peptides ameliorate bone loss in mice by regulating hematopoietic stem/progenitor cell mobilization

  • Ovariectomy-induced bone loss is related to an increased deposition of osteoclasts on bone surfaces. We reported that the 36-amino-acid-long neuropeptide Y (NPY) could mobilize hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells (HSPCs) from the bone marrow to the peripheral blood by regulating HSPC maintenance factors and that mobilization of HSPCs ameliorated low bone density in an ovariectomy-induced osteoporosis mouse model by reducing the number of osteoclasts. Here, we demonstrated that new NPY peptides, recombined from the cleavage of the full-length NPY, showed better functionality for HSPC mobilization than the full-length peptide. These recombinant peptides mediated HSPC mobilization with greater efficiency by decreasing HSPC maintenance factors. Furthermore, treatment with these peptides reduced the number of osteoclasts and relieved ovariectomy-induced bone loss in mice more effectively than treatment with full-length NPY. Therefore, these results suggest that peptides recombined from full-length NPY can be used to treat osteoporosis.

Required Mowing Power and Bale Density of Miscanthus × Giganteus for Field Biomass Harvesting using Different Methods

  • Purpose: This study investigated the harvesting properties of the giant miscanthus (Miscanthus ${\times}$ giganteus) to measure the required mowing power for different stem conditioning methods in order to shorten the drying time after mowing and the bale density so that the crop can be used as biomass in the winter season. Methods: The required mowing power and bale density were measured using a power measurement device, three different mower-conditioners, and a mid-sized round baler under different working speeds and conditioning methods. Results: For the various mower-conditioners, the average stem length from mowing was 0.86-0.91 m, and the available working speed was 1.6 m/s. The steel roller-type mower-conditioner showed better stem conditioning but could not mow over a working speed of 1.6 m/s. The required average power of the mower-conditioners varied from 23.8 kW for the steel roller-type rotary disk mower-conditioner with a working width of 2.4 m to 37.2 kW for the flail-type rotary disk mower-conditioner with a working width of 3.2 m at a working speed of 1.6 m/s. The bale densities were $155.8-172.2kg/m^3$. The highest bale density was measured for stems with no conditioning and a moisture content of 11.3% (d.b.) mowed by the rotary disk mower. The bale density was affected by the mowing method because of the low moisture content of the miscanthus stems. Conclusions: In terms of the working performance and conditioning statue, the steel roller-type mower-conditioner is a better choice at a working width of 2.4 m, while the flail finger-type mower-conditioner is better at a working width of 3.2 m. The type of mower-conditioner used for giant miscanthus harvesting should be determined by considering the harvest area, workable period, and working performance of a mower-conditioner and baler during the winter.

식재밀도가 느티나무 조림목의 초기 생육에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Planting Density on Early Growth Performances of Zelkova serrata Trees)

  • 본 연구는 식재밀도가 느티나무 조림목의 초기 생장에 미치는 영향을 구명하고자 수행되었다. 연구지는 경북 경산과 전북 순창이며, 2015년 3월 말 느티나무 노지묘(1-0)를 4처리 밀도(3천, 5천, 7천, 10천본 ha-1)로 식재하였다. 2019년까지 매년 9월에 조림목의 근원경과 수고를 측정하였고, H/D율과 수간 재적을 계산하였다. 모든 조사지에서 식재밀도가 증가할수록 근원경 및 수고 생장이 높아지는 경향을 보였으며, 수간 재적은 10천본 ha-1 처리구에서 가장 높게 나타났다. 그러나 생존율과 H/D율은 식재밀도에 따른 차이가 없었다. 식재후 5년차에, 경산 지역에서의 근원경, 수고, 수간 재적은 순창 지역에서보다 높게 나타났다. 그러나, 입지 환경이 다른 두 조사지 모두에서 식재밀도 증가에 따라 조림목의 초기 생장이 향상되는 동일한 경향을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구는 10천본 ha-1의 식재밀도가 느티나무 조림목의 초기 생장을 향상시키기 위한 적정 식재밀도임 확인하였으며, 느티나무의 조림학적 특성으로서 밀식처리에 의해 초기 생장이 향상될 수 있다는 점을 제안한다.

재식밀도가 '초롱' 단수수의 생육 및 수량구성요소에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Planting Density on Growth and Yield Components of the Sweet Sorghum Cultivar, 'Chorong')

  • 본 연구는 단수수 '초롱'(Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench)의 재식밀도(16.7, 11.1, 8.3, 6.7, 5.6주${\cdot}m^{-2}$)에 따른 생육, 착즙액의 수량 및 품질을 비교하고 적정 재식밀도와 다변량 분석을 통해 수량에 관계된 요인을 분석하고자 수행하였다. 재식밀도에 따라 파종 후 일수별 주경장은 처리간 차이가 없었으나 재식밀도가 높아짐에 따라 경태는 얇아지고 분지의 퇴화가 빨라지는 경향을 보였다. 수확기 추정한 착즙액과 당수량은 재식밀도가 높은 16.7 (각각 42.9, $4.16Mg{\cdot}ha^{-1}$), 11.1 (37.1, $3.73Mg{\cdot}ha^{-1}$)주${\cdot}m^{-2}$ 처리구가 8.3(30.5, $2.96Mg{\cdot}ha^{-1}$), 6.7 (26.6, $2.41Mg{\cdot}ha^{-1}$), 5.6 (24.7, $2.22Mg{\cdot}ha^{-1}$)주${\cdot}m^{-2}$ 처리구보다 많았다. 가용성 고형물 및 유리당 함량은 통계적인 차이는 없었으나 11.1, 8.3주${\cdot}m^{-2}$ 처리구에서 높은 편이었다. 반면 재식밀도가 5.6~11.1주${\cdot}m^{-2}$까지 증가했을 때 도복지수(9에 가까울수록 도복피해가 커짐)가 2.00~6.33까지 급격히 증가하여 최종 재식밀도의 결정시 태풍의 도래 횟수나 지형적인 특성 등을 고려해야 할 것이다. 추가적으로 조사항목간 상관분석과 주성분 분석에서 재식밀도는 생경수량($r=0.62^{**}$), 건물수량($r=0.58^{**}$), 착즙액($r=0.63^{**}$) 및 당수량($r=0.66^{**}$)과는 정의관계를, 주경의 굵기($r=-0.65^{**}$)와는 부의관계를 나타내었다. 또한 수량 관련 요인들은 초장, 경태, 마디수와 통계적 관계가 없었다.

옥수수의 건물질성산에 미치는 밀도효과 (The Density Effect on the Dry Matter Production of Zea mays)

  • The present experiments differning from that conducted by agriculturists with the first consideration of food or seed production were performed in order to investigate the density effect on dry matter production in the artified population of maize. Three experimental plots were established and one seed was sown in the first plot, 2 seeds in the second plot and 3 seeds in the third plot, respectively. The space of each ridge was designed with 30cm in width and 50cm in length. The space of each seed was 4cm and the growth amount by density was measured through three times. The results obtained are as follows: 1) The total growth amount per unit area was in the order of the third, second and first plots until the second sampling. At the third sampling the whole plots showed almost the same growth amount except the first plot which showed a slightly smaller amount. 2) The growth amount per individual plant was in the order of the third, second and first plots until the second sampling, while the first plot showed drastic growth compared with the other two plots at the third sampling. 3) The growth amount by each organ(leaf, stem and root) of the plant body was markedly abundant in the stem of the non-productive part compared with that in the leaf of the productive part. Especially the root was affected remarkably by density and the first plot showed an abundant growth in comparison with the other plots which were too poor to resist the gound surface.

옻나무 수피 추출물이 마우스의 지질농도 및 지질과산화에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Water Extract from Stem Bark of Rhus verniciflua Stokes on the Concentrations of Lipid and Lipid Peroxidation in Mice)

  • Male mice (ddY strain) were fed a laboratory chow diet containing the water extract from stem bark of Rhus verniciflua Stokes (RVS) for 14 days. There were no significant difference in body weight gain, feed intake, the hepatic lipid profile and serum total cholesterol and phodpholipid concentrations. The concentration of triglyceride in serum was significantly lower in the RVS group than that in the control group. The concentration of high-density-lipoprotein cholestrol in serum was significantly higher in the RVS group than that in the control group. The methanol extract from RVS stem bark effectively inhibited the formation of thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances as a marker of lipid peroxidation of liver microsomes in a concentration-dependent manner. This study showed that the water extract from stem bark of RVS decreased the serum triglyceride concentration and methanol extract has an antioxidative activity.

식재밀도에 따른 강송의 Biomass 생산 및 배분 특성 (Biomass Production of Pinus densiflora forma erecta Uyeki by Planting Density and Its Allocation Chracteristics)

  • 식재밀도에 따른 강송(Pinus densiflora forma erecta Uyeki)의 biomass 생산 및 배분 특성을 구명하기 위하여 경기도 수원시 소재 서울대학교 칠보연습림내 12년생 강송 조림지를 대상으로 본 연구를 수행하였다. 식재밀도가 1.0m×1.0m, 1.8m×1.8m, 3.0m×3.0m인 강송 조림지에서 각각 6본, 5본, 4본씩 표본목을 선정하여 부위별로 생중량을 측정하고 식재밀도에 따른 임분의 biomass 현존량 및 배분 특성을 분석하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같이 요약된다. (1) ha당 biomass 현존량은 밀도 순으로 나타났다. (2) 식재밀도가 높을수록 가지와 침엽이 차지하는 biomass 현존량의 비율은 감소하였다. (3) 당년생 가지와 줄기의 경우 밀도가 낮을수록 수분함량이 점차 증가하는 경향을 보이나 침엽과 전년생 가지의 경우는 줄어드는 경향을 보였다. (4) 식재밀도가 높을수록 최대광합성부위가 위쪽에 나타났다.
