  • Mechanical properties have been accepted to be major factor to improve wear resistance. The effect of mechanical properties on wear resistance of 0.27C-0.70Ni-1.42Cr-0.20Mo steel was studied under various test conditions. It is clear that yield strength, tensile strength, impact value, and hardness are strongly related each other. Wear resistance tests as pin on plate type and dry sand / rubber wheel type proved to be that wear depends on mechanical properties. Microstructures were also observed to make clear the wear properties. At quenching and low temperature tempering, the specimen has a good wear resistance.

SSW2의 피삭성에 관한 연구 제1보 (A study on the Machinability of SSW2 Steel(1st Report))

  • The turning tests with sintered carbide tools have been conducted on typical high strength SSW2 railway wheel steel and its machinability were examined in terms of the cutting resistance, the roughness of turning surface, the chip disposal and others. Some results obtained in this paper are as follows: (1) The cutting resistance is not affected by the cutting speed (in this paper these were 23-78 m/min). (2) The roughness of finished surface is found to be largely dependent on cutting conditions and tool geometry. (3) There exists the explicit relates between the tool geometry cutting conditions (cutting speed, feedrate, and depth of cut) and independent variables(cutting resistance, surface roughness) are derived.

승합차의 램프 디자인과 제작을 위한 이종재료의 접합 (A Study on Welding of Dissimilar Materials for Van-Ramp Design and Production)

  • There are about 2.4million disabled in Korea, 2009. Also, Korean society entered into an aging society. Therefore disable and elderly are getting more involved in our society. This study proposes simple ramp design for wheel chair users and welding method and condition for manufacturing. In the middle of ramp, screw jack and motor are installed so that ramp can be moved left and right side. To make the ramp moves easily, ramp was fixed by installing LM guide on both sides. Ramp production for using Nd:YAG laser certain dissimilar welding in stainless steel sheet and cold reduced carbon steel. The output was fixed by 3kW, the speed was increased to 2~7m/min, Argon was used as shielding gas and the flow rate was changed to 10~30L/min. The proper welding condition is the output 3kW and welding speed 2~5m/min.

  • A bushing is a device used in automotive suspension systems to reduce the load transmitted from the wheel to the frame of the vehicle. A bushing is a hollow cylinder, which is bonded to a solid steel shaft at its inner surface and a steel sleeve at its outer surface. The relation between the force applied to the shaft and the relative deformation of a bushing is nonlinear and exhibits features of viscoelasticity. A force-displacement relation for bushings is important for multibody dynamics numerical simulations. For the nonlinear viscoelastic axial response, Pipkin-Rogers model, the direct relation of force and displacement, has been derived from Lianis model and the sinusoidal input was used for Pipkin-Rogers model, and the affection of displacement with frequency change was studied with Pipkin-Rogers model.

  • Recently Sucessive progress in train technic has enabled us to constructed high-speed railways for ourselves. This caused more rapid train more pressure on a track and speedier track break-down. Especially in the construction of high-speed rails for high-speed traveling and safety accurate breaking distance is essential and not only computation of rolling resistance in theory but also verification through real measurement are important in basic material for breaking and starting load caused during the train running. In this study, we measured traveling resistance and calculated traveling resistance formula in the case of the SAEMA-EUL which consists of main part of current passenger trains and frights in this country.

타이어 접지폭을 고려한 3차원 차량모델에 의한 동적 차륜하중에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Dynamic Wheel Loads of 3-D Vehicle Model Considering Tire Enveloping)

  • 본 연구에서는 타이어의 접지폭을 고려한 새로운 3차원 차량모델을 개발하여 차량의 동적하중에 대하여 연구하였다. 3차원 차량모델에는 타이어의 접지폭과 텐덤 스프링 차륜축의 피칭을 고려하여 대형차량인 2축 차량과 3축 차량을 각각 7-자유도와 8-자유도로 모델링 하였다. 차량의 운동방정식은 Lagrange 방정식을 사용하여 유도하였으며 IMSL에 내장되어 있는 5차 Runge-Kutter 방법을 사용하여 해를 계산하였다. 본 3차원 차량모델을 이용하여 수치해석한 결과와 Whittemore 등이 실시한 실험값을 비교 검토하여 그 타당성을 입증하였다. 수치해석으로 구한 결과는 실험값과 매우 잘 일치하였다. 차량의 동적 해석에서는 2축 차량인 8톤 덤프트럭과 3축 차량인 15톤 덤프트럭이 스탭 범프를 통과할 때와 여러 가지 종류의 도로를 1.0 km 주행하는 동안 발생하는 타이어력의 최대 충격계수를 구하였다.

윤하중을 받는 강바닥판 교면포장의 변형특성에 대한 수치해석적 연구 (A Numerical Study for Deformation Characteristics of the Wearing Surface on a Steel Plate Deck under Wheel Loads)

  • 강바닥판 교량의 교면포장은 차량의 윤하중을 상판에 고르게 분포시켜 교량 상판을 보호하는 역할을 한다. 하지만 교량의 장대화가 가속화됨에 따라 포장체와 강바닥판의 두께가 얇아지고 이 때문에 교면포장의 횡방향 균열이 빈번하게 발생한다. 본 연구에서는 강바닥판 교면포장의 파손원인 규명과 저감 방안을 모색하기 위해 윤하중을 받는 강박스형 거더를 가진 강바닥판의 유한요소해석을 수행하였다. 다양한 구조적 매개변수 변화에 따른 교면포장 상면 변형도를 조사한 결과 해석결과에서 공통적으로 웹 상단에서 큰 인장변형이 발생하였고, 이것이 교면포장의 구조적인 파손의 주요 원인이 되는 것을 알 수 있다.

  • To perform the finish outside-diameter grinding process of ferrules which are widely used as fiber optic connectors, a high-precision centerless grinding machine is necessary. In this study, the thermal characteristics of the high-precision centerless grinding machine such as the temperature distribution, temperature rise and thermal deformation, are estimated based on the virtual prototype of the grinding machine and the heat generation rates of heat sources related to the machine operation conditions. The reliability of the predicted results is demonstrated by the temperature characteristics measured from the physical prototype. Especially, the predicted and measured results show the fact that the high-precision centerless grinding machine consisted of the hydrostatic GW and RW spindle systems, hydrostatic RW feeding mechanism, RW swivel mechanism, on-machine GW and RW dressers, and concrete-filled steel bed, has very stable thermal characteristics.
