To develop a new fish cage which is required for offshore or moving cage culturing system has been gradually increased against being closely dense of fish cage in shallow water. Though submersible fish cage culturing system is essential technology for converting from shallow water into the offshore, it was pointed out the serious problem about stability of which are sinking and floating state. This study is presented conceptual design of submersible fish cage centered with a mooring steel pile to acquire stability and faculty. Design of mooring steel pile for submersible fish cage culturing system needs to carry out optimal design of mooring steel pile for which much efforts are required. Formulation and optimal design process of submersible fish cage are organized into using Sequential Quadratic Programming method of numerical optimization. For submersible fish cage system centered with a mooring steel pile, process of the optimal design is proposed and the optimal solutions are obtained.

This paper describes a floating fish reef technology for enhancement of fisheries productivity in the muddy areas. The floating fish reef was composed of main fish cage, anchor rope and concrete anchor blocks. Main fish cage was made up of 12 steel buoys measuring 0.37m in diameter and 1.5m long, polyethylene (PE) netting and circular steel rings. Each steel buoy had buoyancy of 110kgf. The size of main fish cage was 1.96 m in diameter and 3.75m in length. Monitoring on its durability was made for eight months after installation. The steel buoys fixed on main fish cage and nettings were observed to be kept safely. The wet weight of fouling organisms per unit area$(m^2)$ was 26.6kgf after eight months. Reduction in the cross-section of steel buoys and circular steel rings of main fish cage were not found. In addition, any cracks on the concrete anchor blocks were not observed.

The strengthening of reinforced concrete (RC) columns by steel angles and strips (steel cage) is one of various techniques available to increase ultimate column load. Different authors have shown the influence of the beam-column joint on the behaviour of columns strengthened by steel cages. This paper presents an experimental study carried out at the Universidad Polit$\acute{e}$cnica de Valencia with the aim of analysing two different techniques to solve the strengthening close to the joint and the influence on the behaviour of RC columns strengthened steel cages. The ultimate loads obtained in the laboratory tests for these two techniques are compared to that specified by Eurocode 4.

After 6 month of using, cracking of gas exhaustion bag cage of Type 304 stainless steel wire for Al melting reverberatory furnace was founded in welds. Analysis of crack causes in the wire were tested by electrochemical method, SEM images of structure and analysis of composition. Resulted from the test, it could be observed that cracks in the welds were a accelerated by formed polythionic acid on surface of bag cage in sensitized region of HAZ, tensile stress and using environment.

Building foundations for Top-Down construction require a special setting, because the foundations have to be placed way before excavation for the substructure of main building, Usually, the foundation goes into the layer of rock and it is often called rock-pier foundation, Currently, a cage of steel reinforcing bars is inserted to the pre-excavated hole in the rock layer, hanging down from the wide flange steel column above. This paper presents a new method for connecting the prefounded column and the steel cage with a coupler for better connection between the two, The use of a circular Concrete Filled Tube (CFT) as a prefounded column makes it possible to have this type of connection. The details of the connection and application to a Top-Down construction site is also included in this paper.
Since the critical whirling vibration frequency of high speed built-in type motor spindle systems is dependent on the rotor mass of the built-in motor and the spindle specific bending modulus, the rotor and the shaft were designed using magnetic powder containing epoxy and high modulus carbon fiber epoxy composite, respectively. In order to increase the amount of the magnetic flux of the composite squirrel cage rotor of an AC induction motor, a steel core was inserted into the composite rotor. From the magnetic analysis, the optimal configurations of steel core and conductor bars for the dynamic characteristics of the rotor system were determined and proposed. The temperature dependence of composite squirrel cage rotor materials was investigated by various experiments such as TMA, DMA and VSM.
This study proposes and demonstrates a smart monitoring system that uses transmission lines embedded in a reinforced concrete structure to detect the presence of defects through changes in the electromagnetic waves generated and measured by a time-domain reflectometer. Laboratory experiments were first conducted to identify the presence of voids in steel-concrete composite columns. The results indicated that voids in the concrete caused a positive signal reflection, and the amplitude of this signal decreased as the water content of the soil in the void increased. Multiple voids resulted in a decrease in the amplitude of the signal reflected at each void, effectively identifying their presence despite amplitude reduction. Furthermore, the electromagnetic wave velocity increased when voids were present, decreased as the water content of the soil in the voids increased, and increased with the water-cement ratio and curing time. Field experiments were then conducted using bored piles with on-center (sound) and off-center (defective) steel-reinforcement cage alignments. The results indicated that the signal amplitude in the defective pile section, where the off-center cage was poorly covered with concrete, was greater than that in the pile sections where the cage was completely covered with concrete. The crosshole sonic logging results for the same defective bored pile failed to identify an off-center cage alignment defect. Therefore, this study demonstrates that electromagnetic waves can be a useful tool for monitoring the health and integrity of reinforced concrete structures.
As a countermeasure to reach self-sufficiency for wood supply and demand, we have to develop wood substitutes. Rice hull is the cheapest fiber material we can get in Korea, What is better the yield of rice hull amounts to 1 million tons per year. Before carrying out this study, new ecomaterial rice hull board for housing materials was developed successfully. In order to evaluate whether the rice hull board with or without bioceramic treatment is suitable for housing materials, we studied the environmental effect of the above materials in comparison with the polycarbonate, stainless, or concrete on the adaptation (body weight, water/feed consumption, general signs, urinalysis, autopsy, etc) and the reproduction(litter size, newborn adaptation, etc)of mice. In conclusion, the concrete cage was the worst in the adaptation and so was the stainless steel cage in the reproduction. The rice hull board cage with or without bioceramic treatment was superior or equivalent to other material cages from the standpoints of the adaptation and reproduction.
This study was carried out to determine whether cage traps can be used to capture wild boars successfully, and to assess their response to different bait materials and the number of wild boars caught. Steel cage-traps ($4.0m{\times}1.5m{\times}1.2m$, $L{\times}W{\times}H$) were installed at two sites in Damyang County and at one site in Sunchang County, South Korea. To identify preferred bait-diet, baits were prepared with dry corn and fermented sour corn and placed in equal amounts at the sites close to wild boar pads at 200 m intervals. Before selecting trap locations where sufficient activity was observed, pre-baiting was undertaken and steel-framed traps were installed with gates open. Preference for bait materials was not clearly defined. After providing the bait for the first time, the number of days until wild boars ate all the food were counted. In the Damyang and Youngam areas, where hunting was allowed, total bait consumption took 6 to 12 days; in contrast, in the Sunchang area, where no hunting took place, total food consumption took only 5 days. In addition, after pre-baiting with the mixture of dry and sour corn for diet for about 8.7 days and then opening the trap gates for 3 more days, 13.7 days were necessary to catch 4.3 wild boars per trap. These results suggest that hunting intensity around trapping places was an important factor in determining the success of the traps.
