융합인재교육(STEAM)의 현장적용에 대한 초등 교사들의 인식조사 (Analysis of Elementary School Teachers' Perception on Field Application of STEAM Education)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 융합인재교육(STEAM)의 현장적용에 대한 초등 교사들의 인식을 조사하기 위한 것이다. 연구대상은 초등 교사 80명이었다. 이 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초등 교사들이 STEAM 교육의 의미와 목적에 대해 자세히 알고 있음에도 불구하고 실질적인 교육지도방법에 대해서는 중립적인 입장을 취하는 경우가 많았다. 또한 교육 모임에 대해서도 대부분 부정적인 입장을 가지고 있었다. 둘째, 수업 준비와 수업 시간에 STEAM 교육 관련 교재를 사용하는 초등 교사는 매우 적었다. 또한 STEAM적접근을 통해 개념을 가르친다는 교사 역시 극히 적었다. 개발되어 있는 모듈을 사용하였다는 응답 역시 적었으나 모듈 개발에 대한 요구는 매우 높은 수준으로 나타난 것으로 보아 지속적인 STEAM 교육의 정착을 위해서는 교사가 사용하기 쉬운 적절한 모듈이 개발되어야 할 것으로 사료된다. 셋째, 실제 수업 현장에서 STEAM과 관련된 교육 주제, 교육 활동, 평가를 적용하는 교사는 극히 드문 수에 해당하였다. 넷째, 현장 적용 한 후의 긍정적인 측면의 변화에 대해서도 대부분의 초등 교사들은 향상된 측면에 대해 잘 인지하지 못한다는 응답과 같은 부정적인 견해를 가지고 있었으며, 적용 후의 문제점에 대해서는 학생들이 STEAM 수업을 통해 얻은 결과와 교과서 내용을 연결하지 못하기 때문에 교육과정을 재구성하고, 쉽게 활용 가능한 프로그램을 개발하고 보급해야 한다는 문제점들을 많이 제시하였다. 이처럼 초등 교사들이 융합인재교육의 현장적용에 대해 가지고 있는 인식은 매우 부정적이었다. 융합인재교육이 초등에서 성공적으로 적용되기 위해서는 초등 교사들의 융합인재교육에 대한 인식을 긍정적인 방향으로 전환하고, 교사의 요구가 반영된 프로그램과 다양한 교수 학습 자료의 개발과 보급이 절실하다.

국내 STEAM 교육 연구 논문의 현황 분석 (Analysis of Status about Theses and Articles Related to Domestic STEAM Education)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 2007년부터 2016년 6월까지의 국내 STEAM 교육 연구 논문을 수집 선정하여 국내 STEAM 교육 연구에 관해 문헌고찰을 실시함으로써 연구의 현황과 전반적인 경향성을 확인하고, 기술교육 분야에서 후속 연구의 방향을 제시하는데 있다. 이 연구에서 분석 대상은 2007년 1월부터 2016년 6월까지 국내에서 이루어진 STEAM 및 STEM 교육 관련 선행 연구 논문이다. 한국교육학술정보원, 한국학술정보원, 국회전자도서관의 검색 엔진을 이용하여 석사 및 박사 학위 논문과 전문 학술지 논문을 수집한 뒤 선별 절차를 거쳐 최종 821편의 논문을 연구 대상으로 선정하였다. 선정한 연구 대상 논문은 해당 논문의 제목, 요약, 본문 내용을 확인하여 이 연구에서 개발한 연구 분석틀에 따라 분석을 실시하였다. 자료 분석에 사용된 통계방법은 빈도 분석과 교차 분석이며, 분석을 위해 SPSS 18.0 프로그램을 사용하였다. 이 연구의 결과를 통해 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 첫째, 국내 STEAM 교육 연구는 2012년부터 2015년 사이에 가장 많이 이루어졌으며, 2016년에는 점차 줄어드는 추세를 나타냈다. 둘째, 국내 STEAM 교육 연구는 프로그램/수업자료 개발에 관한 연구가 가장 많이 이루어졌다. 셋째, 국내 STEAM 교육 연구의 대상은 초등학교, 중학교, 고등학교 순으로 많이 이루어졌다. 넷째, 국내 STEAM 교육 연구는 과학을 중심으로 가장 많이 이루어졌다. 다섯째, 국내 STEAM 교육의 효과 중 창의성 효과에 관심을 가지고 있는 것으로 나타났다.

  • This paper presents a vision algorithm for finding the centers of steam generator tubes using the generalized symmetry transform, which is used for ECT(Eddy Current Test) of steam generator tubes in nuclear power plants. The geometrical properties of the image representing steam generator tubes shows that they have amost circular or somewhat elliptic appearances and each tube has strong symmetry about its center. So we apply the generalized symmetry transform to finding centers of steam geneator tubes. But applying the generalized symmetry transform itself without any modification gives difficulties in obtaining the exact centers of steam generator tubes. But applying the generalized symmetry transform itself without any modification gives difficulties in obtaining the exact centers of tubes due to the shadow effect generated by the local light installed inside steam generator. Therefore we make the generalized symmetry transform modified, which uses a modified phase weight function in getting the symmetry magnitude in order to overcome the misleading effect by the local light. The experimental results indicate that the proposed vision algorithm efficiently recongnizes centers of steam generator tubes.

  • The study was conducted to develop the Practical STEAM education Model. To achieve the goal, we did analysis advanced research, comprehensive review of literature, consultation with research team. As a result, the Practical STEAM education Model is consisted as follow; integrated subjects, object, value and aim, curriculum(method, assessment). The result has defined the concept and theoretical framework of STEAM education curriculum as application aspects, it would help to develop the program with STEAM education curriculum. Later in this study is to develop programs and organize. and It intends to become the base to be able to interest and interest in science education by structured around the status of problems that can be found in the life of around themes STEAM.

수압구동 전열관다발 부분 삽입형 증기발생기 세정장비 설계 (Design of a Partial Inter-tube Lancing System actuated by hydraulic power for type F model Steam Generator in Nuclear Power Plant)

  • The sludge grown up in steam generators of nuclear power plants shortens the life-cycle of steam generators and reduces the output of power plants. So KHNP(Korea Hydro and Nuclear Power), the only nuclear power utility in Korea, removes it periodically using a steam generator lancing system during the outage of plants for an overhaul. KEPRI(Korea Electric Power Research Institute) has developed lancing systems with high pressured water nozzle for steam generators of nuclear power plants since 2001. In this paper, the design of a partial inter-tube lancing system for model F type steam generators will be described. The system is actuated without a DC motor inner steam generators because the motors in a steam generator make a trouble from high intensity of radioactivity as a break down.

  • The demand of clean energy, like liquefied gas(LNG), increase suddenly because it generates few polluting substances when burned and from the point of view with caloric value it generates ralatively less $CO_2$ gas than the other energy sources. LNG transpotion method of our country is marine transportion by ships because the LNG producing district is far away from Korea. Main engines for most LNG ships are steam turbines, and the efficiency of steam turbine is influenced by the degree of vacuum of main steam condenser. This paper introduce the design method of the vacuum system for high efficiency marine steam turbine. Especially, it is developed the CAD program for the large steam condenser and steam ejector. Also, it is designed the pilot plant including high pressure boiler for the performance test and maked a part of this plant.

The Analysis of Computational Thinking Practices in STEAM Program and its Implication for Creative Problem Solvers in the 21st Century

  • The purpose of this study was to explore if, what kinds of, how much computational thinking (CT after this) practices could be included in STEAM programs, and what kinds of CT practices could be improved to make STEAM revitalized. The CT analyzing tool with operational definitions and its examples in science education was modified and employed for 5 science-focused and 5 engineering-focused STEAM programs. There was no discerning pattern of CT practices uses between science and engineering STEAM programs but CT practices were displayed depending on their topics. The patterns of CT practices uses from each STEAM program could be used to describe what CT practices were more explored, weakly exposed, or missing. On the basis of these prescription of CT practices from each STEAM program, the researchers could develop the weakly exposed or missing CT practices to be improved for the rich experience in CT practices during STEAM programs.

Steam Explosion Module Development for the MELCOR Code Using TEXAS-V

  • A steam explosion module, STX, has been developed using the mechanistic steam explosion analysis code, TEXAS-V, in order to estimate the dynamic load with steam explosion by implementing the module to the integrated safety analysis code, MELCOR. One of the difficulties in using mechanistic steam explosion codes is that they do not have any obvious criteria for defining some uncertain parameters such as triggering timing, triggering magnitude, mesh axial length and mesh cross-sectional area. These parameters have been user decision parts in the past. Steam explosion sample calculations and sensitivity studies on uncertain parameters were conducted to investigate those uncertain parameters. The TEXAS-V simulations were summarized in the format of a look-up table and a linear interpolation technique was adopted to calculate the steam explosion load between the data points in the table. The STX-module merged with MELCOR showed the same results as the original MELCOR and additionally it could estimate the steam explosion load in the reactor cavity.

Design Principles for Learning Environment based on STEAM Education

  • In this study, a learning environment based on STEAM theory was proposed to support and improve learners' activities and achievements for convergent design education. The learning environment design influence STEAM education with intentional design and schedule coordination, schools can create informal environments that are crucial to STEAM education. The physical surroundings of the learning space should be applied to teaching methods and learning activity, especially for STEAM-based education, physical space conditions should support the learner's design thinking and process. Furthermore, STEAM-based education environment should support a vast array of experiences that allow students to learn the context around ideas and skills. For spaces for learning environment based on STEAM, common design principles should be considered such as technology integration, safety and security, transparency, multipurpose space, and outdoor learning. Therefore, the learning environment based on STEAM needs flexible and mobile, connected, integrated, organized, flipped, and team-focused surroundings to support the learners understand, participate, cooperate, and accomplish the design process.

융합인재교육(STEAM)에 대한 유아교사의 인식 및 활성화 방안 (Early Childhood Teachers' Perception of STEAM and Activation Measures for STEAM)

  • Objective: This study aims to investigate early childhood teachers' perception of STEAM and suggest activation measures for STEAM according to teachers' background variables. Methods: The researchers conducted a pilot study, and then did survey research for 5 weeks. The participants of this study included 523 teachers of early childhood education institutions in Gwangju metropolitan city and Jeollanam-do Province. Results: The results of this study were as follows. First, early childhood teachers perceived the necessity of STEAM differently according to their age, experience, and academic background. The higher their age, experience, and academic background were, the more they wanted to participate in further teacher training and education. In particular, early childhood teachers' perception and activation measures were very different according to their workplace. These results come from the fact that the conditions in conducting STEAM are different according to their workplace. Conclusion/Implications: In order to activate STEAM, a teacher training program including practical contents and methods should be conducted. Also, it is necessary to carefully organize the content and structure of the teacher training program according to their workplace. This study is meaningful in terms of suggesting activation measures for STEAM by showing how early childhood teachers think about STEAM and what they demand.
