  • A viscoelastic constitutive equation of rubber that is under small oscillatory load superimposed on large static deformation is proposed. The proposed model is derived through linearization of Simo's viscoelastic constitutive model and reference configuration transformation. The proposed constitutive equation is extended to a generalized viscoelastic constitutive equation that includes widely used Mormin's model as a special case using objective stress increment. Static deformation correction factor is introduced to consider the influence of Pre-strain on the relaxation function. The proposed constitutive model is tested fer dynamic behavior of rubber specimens with different carbon black contents. It is concluded from the test that the viscoelastic constitutive equation for filled rubber must include the influence of the static deformation on the time effects. The suggested constitutive equation with static deformation correction factor shows good agreement with test values.

  • The static softening behavior of SCM 440 could be characterized by the hot torsion test in the temperature ranges of 90$0^{\circ}C$~110$0^{\circ}C$and strain rate ranges of 0.05/sec~5/sec. Interrupted deformation was performed with 2 pass deformation in the pass strain ranges of 0.25$\varepsilon$p~3$\varepsilon$p and interrupted time ranges of 0.5~100sec. The dependences of process variables, pass strain ($\varepsilon$i), stain rate ($\varepsilon$), temperature (T) and interpass time (ti), on static recrystallization (SRX) and metadynamic recrystallization (MDRX)were individually predicted from the modified Avrami's equations, The dependence of pass strain on MDRX was neglectable. Comparison of the softening kinetics between MDRX and SRX showed that the rate of MDRX was more rapid than that of SRX for the same deformation variables. Controlled multipass deformations were performed using static and metadynamic recrystallization of SCM 440.

  • Many bridges are subject to lateral damage for their girders due to impact by over-height vehicles collision. In this study, the optimum configurations of carbon fiber reinforced polymers (CFRP) laminates were investigated to repair the laterally damaged prestressed concrete (PS) bridge girders. Experimental and analytical investigations were conducted to study the flexural behavior of 13 half-scale AASHTO type II PS girders under both static and fatigue loading. Lateral impact damage due to vehicle collision was simulated by sawing through the concrete of the bottom flange and slicing through one of the prestressing strands. The damaged concrete was repaired and CFRP systems (longitudinal soffit laminates and evenly spaced transverse U-wraps) were applied to restore the original flexural capacity and mitigate debonding of soffit CFRP longitudinal laminates. In addition to the static load tests for ten girders, three more girders were tested under fatigue loading cycles to investigate the behavior under simulated traffic conditions. Measurements of the applied load, the deflection at five different locations, strains along the cross-section height at mid-span, and multiple strains longitudinally along the bottom soffit were recorded. The study investigated and recommended the proper CFRP repair design in terms of the CFRP longitudinal layers and U-wrapping spacing to obtain flexural capacity improvement and desired failure modes for the repaired girders. Test results showed that with proper detailing, CFRP systems can be designed to restore the lost flexural capacity, sustain the fatigue load cycles, and maintain the desired failure mode.

  • This research focuses on producing a cheap polymer, and also experiments for marking with the high strength polymer concrete structures. At present only a few tests on shear behavior in polymer reinforced concrete beams(PRC) have been reported. In the current experiments, the reinforced concrete beams with polymer fraction are investigated. The beams in this study are supported by conventional stirrups at appropriate intervals and they are designed to take static loads. The strength of beams are measured and the behavior of beams under each loading are oh served in order to determine some advantages of adding polymer to reinforced concrete beams. The static testing data consist of load, displacement, and strain at specified reinforcement locations, and the support displacement In the static tests, it has been observed that the beams fail in the same way as RC. However, it is observed to he rather weak in impact, hut it can he said that its increase of strength and excellency of repairing are verified. Consequently this work strongly suggests that the steam-curing or the air-curing or the air-curing must be performed to increase the strength.

  • The major objective of this study is to investigate the fatigue effects of rail pad on High Speed Railway with concrete slab track system. It analyzed the mechanical behaviors of HSR concrete slab track with applying rail pad stiffness based on fatigue effect(hardening and increasing stiffness) on the 3-dimensional FE analysis and laboratory test for static & dynamic characteristics. As a result, the hardening of rail pad due to fatigue loading condition are negative effect for the static & dynamic response of concrete slab track which is before act on fatigue effect. The analytical and experimental study are carried out to investigate rail pad on fatigue effected increase vertical acceleration and stress and decrease suitable deflection on slab track. And rail pad based on fatigue effect induced dynamic maximum stresses, the increase of damage of slab track is predicted by adopting fatigue effected rail pad. after due consideration The servicing HSR concrete slab track with resilient track system has need of the reasonable determination after due consideration fatigue effect of rail pad stiffness which could be reducing the effect of static and dynamic behavior that degradation phenomenon of structure by an unusual response characteristic and a drop durability.

  • This study was performed to estimate the workability and the static behavior for Bi Prestressed Concrete Girder(Bicon girder) which could introduce effectively prestressed forces into concrete girders. A bicon girder is manufactured by means of introducing pure bending moment that prestress simultaneously the compressive member(steel bar) and the tensile member(steel tendon). Static test was executed for 20m railway bridge girder specimen and evaluated whether pure bending moment was introduced or not, and the behaviors after cracking, and at the ultimate load. Test results showed that a bicon girder had the enough safety in the introduction of pure moment, the serviceability, and the ultimate behavior.

  • This paper proposed a process for estimating the required capacity of emergency drainage system on a ship when the ship encounters a flooding accident. The process was established by selecting target vessel, making a scenario of flooding accident, considering static behavior of flooding water and the effect of ship motion due to ocean condition. In order to obtain the object of the research, MATLAB codes were developed for analyzing of static behavior of flooding water. Additionally, Ansys AQWA-NAUT was used to analyze the motion of the ship under an ocean condition and then the effect of ship motion was considered when the static behavior of flooding water was studied. The research exploited a trawler as a target vessel, and estimate the necessary capacity of the trawler's emergency drainage system by simulating a flooding water in the vessel.

  • This study proposes a technique to estimate the material property of a paper by using an experimental methods and commercial CAE software. Under gravitation, if one side of the paper is attached to the ground, the opposite side of paper is largely deformed, and vibrates freely. Since the paper has an orthotropic characteristic due to its treatment, the deformations in two orthogonal directions of the dry paper are different. An experimental method to measure the static deformation of the paper introduces this phenomenon. And dynamic behavior, frequency of free vibration is measured. And then. virtual prototypes that can represent the static and dynamic behavior are modeled by using the commercial CAE software $RecurDyn^{MT}$/MTT3D, which has been widely used by the printer makers. While comparing the deformation and frequency from the experiment and simulation, a design optimization technique in the commercial CAE software of R-INOPL, $RecurDyn^{TM}$/AutoDesign is used to estimate the material property such as Young's modulus, shear modulus and density of the paper.

  • The influence of prestress force on the fundamental frequency and static deflection shape of uncracked Prestressed Concrete (PC) beams with a parabolic bonded tendon was examined in this paper. Due to the conflicts among existing theories, the analytical solutions for properly considering the dynamic and static behavior of these members is not straightforward. A series of experiments were conducted for a total period of approximately 2.5 months on a PC beam made with high strength concrete, subsequently and closely to the 28 days of age of concrete. Specifically, the simply supported PC member was short term subjected to free transverse vibration and three-point bending tests during its early-age. Subsequently, the experimental data were compared with a model that describes the dynamic behavior of PC girders as a combination of two substructures interconnected, i.e., a compressed Euler-Bernoulli beam and a tensioned parabolic cable. It was established that the fundamental frequency of uncracked PC beams with a parabolic bonded tendon is sensitive to the variation of the initial elastic modulus of concrete in the early-age curing. Furthermore, the small variation in experimental frequency with time makes doubtful its use in inverse problem identifications. Conversely, the relationship between prestress force and static deflection shape is well described by the magnification factor formula of the "compression-softening" theory by assuming the variation of the chord elastic modulus of concrete with time.
