  • In the general multiple video object coder, more interested objects such as speaker or moving object is consistently coded with higher priority. Since the priority of each object may not be fixed in the whole sequence and be variable on frame basis, it must be adjusted in a frame. In this paper, we analyze the independent rate control algorithm and global algorithm that the QP value is controled by the static parameters, object importance or priority, target PSNR, weighted distortion. The priority among static parameters is analyzed and adjusted into dynamic parameters according to the visual interests or importance obtained by camera interface. Target PSNR and weighted distortion are proportionally derived by using magnitude, motion, and distortion. We apply those parameters for the weighted distortion control and the priority-based control resulting in the efficient bit-rate distribution. As results of this paper, we achieved that fewer bits are allocated for video objects which has less importance and more bits for those which has higher visual importance. The duration of stability in the visual quality is reduced to less than 15 frames of the coded sequence. In the aspect of PSNR, the proposed scheme shows higher quality of more than 2d13 against the conventional schemes. Thus the coding scheme interfaced to human- eye proves an efficient video coder dealing with the multiple number of video objects.

  • In this study, an experimental study was performed to evaluate the concrete breakout strength of unreinforced cast-in-place anchors by seismic qualification test under shear loading. The CIP anchors tested herein were 30mm in diameter with an edge distance of 150mm and an embedment depth of 240mm in uncracked and cracked concrete. The cracked specimen consisted of orthogonal and parallel crack to the loading direction, respectively. The dynamic loading sequence during the seismic qualification test was determined based on CSA N287.2, ACI 355.2 and ETAG 001 codes. After the dynamic loading, the static loading was applied until failure occurs. The shear resistance by seismic qualification tests showed almost the same strength as that obtained from the static tests in uncrcaked and cracked concrete, respectively. Meanwhile, the breakout depth did not reach $8d_0$, therefore the modified strength equation of ACI 318-11 could estimate properly the concrete breakout strength, which does not consider effective bearing length.

  • Utilizing sequence control and numerical computing, embedded devices are used in a variety of automated systems, including those at industrial sites, in accordance with their control program. Since embedded devices are used as a control system in corporate industrial complexes, nuclear power plants and public transport infrastructure nowadays, deliberate attacks on them can cause significant economic and social damages. Most attacks aimed at embedded devices are data-coded, code-modulated, and control-programmed. The control programs for industry-automated embedded devices are designed to represent circuit structures, unlike common programming languages, and most industrial automation control programs are designed with a graphical language, LAD, which is difficult to process static analysis. Because of these characteristics, the vulnerability analysis and security related studies for industry automation control programs have only progressed up to the formal verification, real-time monitoring levels. Furthermore, the static analysis of industrial automation control programs, which can detect vulnerabilities in advance and prepare for attacks, stays poorly researched. Therefore, this study suggests a method to present a discussion on an industry automation control program designed to represent the circuit structure to increase the efficiency of static analysis of embedded industrial automation programs. It also proposes a medium term translation technology exploiting LLVM IR to comprehensively analyze the industrial automation control programs of various manufacturers. By using LLVM IR, it is possible to perform integrated analysis on dynamic analysis. In this study, a prototype program that converts to a logical expression type of medium language was developed with regards to the S company's control program in order to verify our method.

  • With the development of the Internet, the number of cyber threats is continuously increasing and their techniques are also evolving for the purpose of attacking our crucial systems. Since attackers are able to easily make exploit codes, i.e., malware, using dedicated generation tools, the number of malware is rapidly increasing. However, it is not easy to analyze all of malware due to an extremely large number of malware. Because of this, many researchers have proposed the malware classification methods that aim to identify unforeseen malware from the well-known malware. The existing malware classification methods used malicious information obtained from the static and the dynamic malware analysis as the criterion of calculating the similarity between malwares. Also, most of them used API functions and their sequences that are divided into a certain length. Thus, the accuracy of the malware classification heavily depends on the length of divided API sequences. In this paper, we propose an extraction method of optimized API sequence length and combination that can be used for improving the performance of the malware classification.

  • We present a robust face tracking system from the sequence of video images based on effective detector and Kalman filter. To construct the effective face detector, we extract the face features using the five types of simple Haar-like features. Extracted features are reinterpreted using Principal Component Analysis (PCA), and interpreted principal components are used for Support Vector Machine (SVM) that classifies the faces and non-faces. We trace the moving face with Kalman filter, which uses the static information of the detected faces and the dynamic information of changes between previous and current frames. To make a real-time tracking system, we reduce processing time by adjusting the frequency of face detection. In this experiment, the proposed system showed an average tracking rate of 95.5% and processed at 15 frames per second. This means the system is robust enough to track faces in real-time.

  • Human can recognize the environment by detecting spatial perception, and most of environmental perception depends on visual perception. In view that the acquisition of spatial information is accomplished through visual recognition, analysis of visual structure contained in the space is thought to be very important sector in studying the characteristic of the space. The history of studies on visual structure of space, however, wasn't too long, and furthermore most of the theories up to now focused on static and planar principles. Under this circumstance, this study is intended to suggest new theory by combining Isovist theory and VGA theory that have been actively discussed as the theory on visual perception-based spatial structure and supplementing them between each other to expand into 3-dimensional model. The suggested theory is a complex principle in dimensional and dynamic form in consideration of visual direction, which forms 3-dimentional virtual model that enables visualization of the property of spatial structure as the routine discriminating whether visual connection is made between viewing point and target point, and the target point is included in the visual field quadrangular pyramid or not. Such model was built up by an analysis application where four probe paths were applied to simulate the visual structure that occurs in virtual space, and then the characteristics were analyzed through quantification. In result, in spite of the path with equal space and equal length, significant difference in the acquired quantity of spatial information could be found depending on the probe sequence. On the contrary, it was found that probe direction may not affect the acquired quantity of information and visual property of the space.

  • It is difficult to identify reusable and independent components in component-based development(CBD) process. Therefore existing methodologies have dealt the problem of component identification based on only developer's intuition and heuristics. As a result, it is difficult to identify the business components by common developers. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a new baseline and technique to identify the business components based on domain model such as use case diagrams, class diagrams, and sequence diagrams. proposed method identifies components through two phases; system component identification and business component identification. Especially, we consider structural characteristics as well as dependency characteristics according to methods call types and directions in identifying components. We also present a case study and comparative analysis and assessment to prove the practical use of our technique.

  • Flexible inverters based on complementary thin-film transistor (CTFTs) are important because they have low power consumption and other advantages over single type TFT inverters. In addition, integrated CTFTs in flexible electronic circuits on low-cost, large area and mechanically flexible substrates have potentials in various applications such as radio-frequency identification tags (RFIDs), sensors, and backplanes for flexible displays. In this work, we introduce flexible complementary inverters using pentacene and amorphous indium gallium zinc oxide (IGZO) for the p-channel and n-channel, respectively. The CTFTs were fabricated on polyimide (PI) substrate. Firstly, a thin poly-4-vinyl phenol (PVP) layer was spin coated on PI substrate to make a smooth surface with rms surface roughness of 0.3 nm, which was required to grow high quality IGZO layers. Then, Ni gate electrode was deposited on the PVP layer by e-beam evaporator. 400-nm-thick PVP and 20-nm-thick ALD Al2O3 dielectric was deposited in sequence as a double gate dielectric layer for high flexibility and low leakage current. Then, IGZO and pentacene semiconductor layers were deposited by rf sputter and thermal evaporator, respectively, using shadow masks. Finally, Al and Au source/drain electrodes of 70 nm were respectively deposited on each semiconductor layer using shadow masks by thermal evaporator. Basic electrical characteristics of individual transistors and the whole CTFTs were measured by a semiconductor parameter analyzer (HP4145B, Agilent Technologies) at room temperature in the dark. Performance of those devices then was measured under static and dynamic mechanical deformation. Effects of cyclic bending were also examined. The voltage transfer characteristics (Vout- Vin) and voltage gain (-dVout/dVin) of flexible inverter circuit were analyzed and the effects of mechanical bending will be discussed in detail.

  • Buckling and free vibration behavior of a laminated cylindrical panel exposed to non-uniform thermal load is addressed in the present study. The approach comprises of three portions, in the first portion, heat transfer analysis is carried out to compute the non-uniform temperature fields, whereas second portion consists of static analysis wherein stress fields due to thermal load is obtained, and the last portion consists of buckling and prestressed modal analyzes to capture the critical buckling temperature as well as first five natural frequencies and associated mode shapes. Finite element is used to perform the numerical investigation. The detailed parametric study is carried out to analyze the effect of nature of temperature variation across the panel, laminate sequence and structural boundary constraints on the buckling and free vibration behavior. The relation between the buckling temperature of the panel under uniform temperature field and non-uniform temperature field is established using magnification factor. Among four cases considered in this study for position of heat sources, highest magnification factor is observed at the forefront curved edge of the panel where heat source is placed. It is also observed that thermal buckling strength and buckling mode shapes are highly sensitive to nature of temperature field and the effect is significant for the above-mentioned temperature field. Furthermore, it is also observed that the panel with antisymmetric laminate has better buckling strength. Free vibration frequencies and the associated mode shapes are significantly influenced by the non-uniform temperature variations.

  • System developers create a lot of design documents by various case tools. It is necessary to have the tools for facilitating the analysis of the documents. These tools can be used to understand and verify the whole process of a system, by defining relationships among the documents and providing free navigation methods. In this paper, we develop a navigation tool that enables the developers to systematically analyze the system by capturing duplication, instance, and transition relationships between the documents. Different from the navigation facilities of the other UML design tools, this tool makes it possible to navigate design elements in design documents such as sequence diagrams, state diagrams and class diagrams. In other words, it can be used to systematically capture and verify both the static structure and the dynamic behavior of the system by keeping track of such elements. To provide such a facility, 1) we define three relationships: duplication, instance, and transition, 2) assign relation to the related design elements according to the predefined way. and then 3) present a set of functions for navigating related design elements.
