Composite material optimization for heavy duty chassis by finite element analysis

  • In the study, investigation of fiber- reinforced composite materials that can be an alternative to conventional steel was performed by finite element analysis with the help of software. Steel and composite materials have been studied on a four axle truck chassis model. Three-dimensional finite element model was created with software, and then analyzes were performed. The analyses were performed for static and dynamic/fatigue cases. Fatigue cases are formed with the help of design spectra model and fatigue analyses were performed as static analyses with this design spectra. First, analyses were performed for steel and after that optimization analyses were made for the AS4-PEEK carbon fiber composite and Eglass-Epoxy fiber composite materials. Optimization of composite material analyzes include determining the total laminate thickness, thickness of each ply, orientation of each ply and ply stacking sequence. Analyzes were made according to macro mechanical properties of composite, micromechanics case has not been considered. Improvements in weight reduction up to %50 provided at the end of the composite optimization analyzes with satisfying stiffness performance of chassis. Fatigue strength of the composite structure depends on various factors such as, fiber orientation, ply thickness, ply stack sequence, fiber ductility, ductility of the matrix, loading angle. Therefore, the accuracy of theoretical calculations and analyzes should be correlated by testing.

GPS/RTS data fusion to overcome signal deficiencies in certain bridge dynamic monitoring projects

  • Measurement of deflections of certain bridges is usually hampered by corruption of the GPS signal by multipath associated with passing vehicles, resulting to unrealistically large apparent displacements. Field data from the Gorgopotamos train bridge in Greece and systematic experiments revealed that such bias is due to superimposition of two major effects, (i) changes in the geometry of satellites because of partial masking of certain satellites by the passing vehicles (this effect can be faced with solutions excluding satellites that get temporarily blocked by passing vehicles) and (ii) dynamic multipath caused from reflection of satellite signals on the passing trains, a high frequency multipath effect, different from the static multipath. Dynamic multipath seems to have rather irregular amplitude, depending on the geometry of measured satellites, but a typical pattern, mainly consisting of a baseline offset, wide base peaks correlating with the sequence of main reflective surfaces of the vehicles passing next to the antenna. In cases of limited corruption of GPS signal by dynamic multipath, corresponding to scale distortion of the short-period component of the GPS waveforms, we propose an algorithm which permits to reconstruct the waveform of bridge deflections using a weak fusion of GPS and RTS data, based on the complementary characteristics of the two instruments. By application of the proposed algorithm we managed to extract semi-static and dynamic displacements and oscillation frequencies of a historical railway bridge under train loading by using noisy GPS and RTS recordings. The combination of GPS and RTS is possible because these two sensors can be fully collocated and have complementary characteristics, with RTS and GPS focusing on the long- and short-period characteristics of the displacement, respectively.

다중 공정계획을 가지는 정적/동적 유연 개별공정에 대한 의사결정 나무 기반 스케줄링 (Decision Tree based Scheduling for Static and Dynamic Flexible Job Shops with Multiple Process Plans)

  • This paper suggests a decision tree based approach for flexible job shop scheduling with multiple process plans. The problem is to determine the operation/machine pairs and the sequence of the jobs assigned to each machine. Two decision tree based scheduling mechanisms are developed for static and dynamic flexible job shops. In the static case, all jobs are given in advance and the decision tree is used to select a priority dispatching rule to process all the jobs. Also, in the dynamic case, the jobs arrive over time and the decision tree, updated regularly, is used to select a priority rule in real-time according to a rescheduling strategy. The two decision tree based mechanisms were applied to a flexible job shop case with reconfigurable manufacturing cells and a conventional job shop, and the results are reported for various system performance measures.

연기 영상의 정적 및 동적 텍스처를 이용한 강인한 연기 검출 (Reliable Smoke Detection using Static and Dynamic Textures of Smoke Images)

  • 감시 카메라를 이용하여 화재 연기를 자동 검출하는 시스템은 신뢰도 높은 연기 영상의 검출 방법을 필요로 한다. 카메라를 이용하여 공기 중에 확산하는 연기의 영상을 연속적으로 획득하였을 때, 연기 영상의 각 장면은 독특한 텍스처(정적 텍스처)를 가지며, 연기의 확산 운동으로 인하여 그 차분 영상 또한 다른 물체와 구별이 되는 독특한 텍스처(동적 텍스처)를 가진다. 특정 객체가 연기와 유사한 정적 텍스처를 가지고 있을 지라도 그 움직임의 특성이 연기 특유의 확산 운동과 다르다면, 그 차분 영상의 텍스처는 연기의 차분 영상 텍스처와 유사할 수 없다. 본 논문에서는 이 두 가지 정적 및 동적 텍스처를 이용하여 신뢰도 높은 연기 영상 검출 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법은 누적된 장면 차분 영상을 이용하여 변화 영역을 일차적으로 검출하고, 검출된 변화 영역의 정적 및 동적 텍스처로부터 추출한 Haralick 특징 벡터 이용하여 최종적으로 연기로 인한 변화 영역을 검출한다.

이송장비의 Pooling 운행방식에 따른 터미널하역생산성 효과 (A study on the productivity effects of transport vehicle by pooling system at container terminals)

  • 본 연구에서는 이송장비의 조별운행방식과 Pooling 운행방식에 따른 컨테이너 터미널의 하역시스템 생산성을 비교분석하였다. 기존 컨테이너 터미널에서는 다수의 이송장비가 1개조로 구성되어 하나의 컨테이너 크레인(C/C)에 대해서만 양 ${\cdot}$ 적하작업을 지원하는 고정할당방식을 채택하고 있다. 이러한 할당방식은 하역작업시 혼선이 적고 차량이 일괄적 운행경로를 가지므로 지금까지 매우 광범위하게 적용되어 왔다. 그러나, 각기 다른 조에 편성된 이송장비간에는 상호지원을 하지 않기 때문에 이송장비의 작업융통성이 떨어진다고 볼 수 있다. 이에 비해 본 연구에서는 이송장비의 작업조를 편성하지 않고 투입된 모든 이송장비가 자유롭게 다수의 C/C에 대한 이송작업을 지원할 수 있는 4가지의 동적할당기법을 제시한다. 제시된 4가지의 동적할당은 차량할당시에 C/C의 순번(Se), 대기시간(Qt), 생산성(Pr), 차량할당수(Nv), 버퍼수(Nb)를 고려하는 것으로 연구결과에서 C/C의 현재대기시간, 할당수, 버퍼수를 동시에 고려한 동적할당방식이 가장 효율적이였고, 그 다음으로 할당순서에 기준한 방식이 우수한 결과를 보였다. 그러나, C/C의 현재생산성이나 대기시간만을 고려한 할당방식은 상대적으로 고정할당방식보다 낮은 효율성을 보이는 것으로 나타났다.

  • Evaluation of microstructural changes is important for process control during open die forging of heavy ingots. The control of forging parameters, such as shape of the dies, reduction, temperature and sequence of passes, is to maximize the forging effects and to minimize inhomogeneities of mechanical properties. The hot working die steel is produced by using the multistage open die forging. The structure is altered during forging by subsequent Precesses of plastic deformation, recrystallization and grain growth. A numerical analysis using an rigid visco-plastic finite element model was performed to predict microstructural evolution of hot working die steel.

움직이는 카메라에 의한 변화하는 환경하의 강인한 배경 획득 및 유동체 검출 (Robust background acquisition and moving object detection from dynamic scene caused by a moving camera)

  • A background is a part where do not vary too much or frequently change in an image sequence. Using this assumption, it is presented a background acquisition algorithm for not only static but also dynamic view in this paper. For generating background, we detect a region, where has high correlation rate compared within selected region in the prior pyramid image, from the searching region in the current image. Between a detected region in the current image and a selected region in the prior image, we calculate movement vector for each regions in time sequence. After we calculate whole movement vectors for two successive images, vector histogram is used to determine the camera movement. The vector which has the highest density in the histogram is determined a camera movement. Using determined camera movement, we classify clusters based on pixel intensities which pixels are matched with prior pixels following camera movement. Finally we eliminate clusters which have lower weight than threshold, and combine remained clusters for each pixel to generate multiple background clusters. Experimental results show that we can automatically detect background whether camera move or not.

  • 객체지향 방법론에서 정적 및 동적 모델에 관한 구문(Syntax)과 의미론(Semantics)의 형식적 정의는 잘 이루어 졌으나 객체 상호작용의 행위에 대한 형식론은 아직까지 제시되지 않았다. 본 논문에서는 객체 상호작용을 묘사하는 UML의 순서(Sequence) 다이어그램을 토대로 프로세스 대수를 사용하여 객체 상호작용을 정의하고 객체 상호작용의 특성을 정규화 시킨다. 이러한 결과는 M. Snoeck과 G. Dedene[9]가 제시한 종속존재 관계의 개념을 상호작용 관계의 개념으로 대체하여 형식론을 전개할 수 있음을 보여준다.

건축공간내 미술장식품의 설치위치에 따른 선정요인에 관한 연구 (A Study on Criteria of Selecting Artwork According to Artwork's Location in Architectural Space)

  • The purpose of this study is to provide a practical guide for selecting architectural artwork and analyze relationship between artwork and interior space & facade. The problems with many outdoor artwork did not make the characteristics of the specific environment and did not form a big flow in the urban contextualism. Choosing the artwork, architectural environment for artwork is very much part of the designers' task. When artwork is to be specifically acquired for a particular projects, designer and client must work together to make choices and plan placement. The data are collected through evaluation surveys of college students and graduate students majoring in interior architecture & design, and analyzed by using SPSS-WIN program to find the major characterized factors. It is concluded that architectural artwork should be constituted with nine major factors of interior space - theme/scale, situation/contemporay accord, finished materials harmony, line/two-three dimensional form, proportion/rhythm, sequence, natural/artificial form, abstract/reality expression, originality - and eight major factors of facade - situation, abstract/reality expression, finished materials harmony, theme/sequence, natural/artificial form, proportion/rhythm, static/dynamic expression, originality/. contemporay accord.
