  • This paper is concerned with the techniques of error check and reduction of state diagram using logic programming. Error check program aims to check not only syntax errors but also semantic errors. And reduction program optimizes the state diagram by finding the redundant equivalence states and removing those from the set of states. The input of both program is state diagram represented as state table form. The output of error check program is error comment. The output of reduction program is equivalence reduced state table. Both programs are implemented using prolog. Prolog has very powerful pattern matching, and its automatic back-tracking capabilities facilitate easy-to-write error check and reduction programs.

  • The physicochemical properties of the fatty acid monomolecular Arachidic Acid, Stearic Acid films surface structure has been studied by AFM. We give pressure stimulation into organic thin films and then manufacture a device under the accumulation condition that the state surface pressure is gas state, liquid state, solid state. • In this paper, evaluation of physical properties was made for dielectric relaxation phenomena by the detection of the surface pressures and displacements current on the monolayer films of fatty acid monomolecular Arachidic Acid, Stearic Acid using compressing velocity. LB(Langmuir-Blodgett) thin films were manufacture by detecting deposition for the accumulation and the current was measured after the electric bias was applied across the manufactured MIM device. The physicochemical properties of the fatty acid monomolecular Arachidic Acid, Stearic Acid films surface structure has been studied by AFM. We give pressure stimulation into organic thin films and then manufacture a device under the accumulation condition that the state surface pressure is gas state, liquid state, solid state. • A Symbolic cover Minimization Algorithm and State CHDL Description for Finite State Machine Synthesizer are Presented. State CHDL are used for design of PLA based finite state machine, also the symbolic cover minimization algorithms are based upon single cube containment and distance 1 merging algorithms. The procedure for state machine synthesizer has been applied to practical example, including traffic light controller by using Boulder Optimal Logic Design System.

  • Most hard disk drives that apply the ramp load/unload technology unload the heads at the outer edge of the disk while the disk is rotating. During the unloading process, slider-disk contacts may occur by lift-off force and rebound of the slider. The main issue of this paper is to prevent the slider-disk contact by changing the state matrix. Because the state matrix is related to the suspension and slider, to change the state matrix means the structural change of the suspension and slider. We investigate influence for variation of the state matrix components and analyze the relation between the state matrix and the suspension/slider.

  • We consider the state price densities that are implicit in financial asset prices. In the pricing of an option, the state price density is proportional to the second derivative of the option pricing function and this relationship together with no arbitrage principle imposes restrictions on the pricing function such as monotonicity and convexity. Since the state price density is a proper density function and most of the shape constraints are caused by this, we propose to estimate the state price density directly by specifying candidate densities in a flexible nonparametric way and applying methods of regularization under extra constraints. The problem is easy to solve and the resulting state price density estimates satisfy all the restrictions required by economic theory.

  • The effects of zinc on arginine kinase and its collapsed-state intermediate were studied. Both arginine kinase and the collapsed-state intermediate were inactivated in the presence of zinc, following a biphasic kinetic course. The corresponding apparent rate constants of inactivation at different zinc concentrations and conformational changes in the presence of 0.5 mM zinc were obtained. The conformational changes of arginine kinase and the collapsed-state intermediate were followed by fluorescence spectra and circular dichroism spectra. Comparison of the results for arginine kinase and the collapsed-state intermediate showed that the collapsed-state intermediate was more susceptible to zinc, which indicated that the collapsed-state intermediate was more flexible and unstable than arginine kinase. The special structure of arginine kinase might explain these diverse phenomena.

  • A mathematical model for the prediction of carbon-dioxide absorption rate during the transient state of rotary type absorber is developed. The rotary type absorber operates using a fast rotating porous structure and clean water. The model for the transient state rotary type absorbers is based on the steady state model of packed tower absorber. The paper manipulates the operating data of an arbitrary quasi-steady state condition of rotary type absorber for the determination of the coefficients involved in the model developed. The prediction accuracy is evaluated from the measured data of rotary type absorber operated under fast transient state. The measured data include the mole fraction of carbon dioxide in mixed gas and the pressure of absorber. The relative error in carbon dioxide prediction is estimated to be 20% at maximum. The model is successfully applied for the prediction of the behavior of a closed cycle diesel engine.

  • For the state feedback controller which measures only partial state variables, a state observer can be used to give the estimates of unmeasurable states. In this paper, the delayed state feedback method instead of the state observer for desingning a tracking controller of electro-hydraulic control system is presented. The controller design is based on augmenting the original system by one additional integral and proportional element which compensates for the effect of the integral control and on feeding back the measurable state variables and their delayed values. The performance of the proposed position control system is compared with both that of the full state feedback control system and that of the digital PID control system tuned by the Ziegler-Nichols method and by the parameter readjustment through the computer simulation. And then robustness against unmeasurable constant disturbace and parameter variations during operations is also checked.

  • The carcinogens 2-amino-3-methylimidazo[4, 5-f]quinoline (IQ) and 1, 2-dimethylhydrazine (DMH) induce colon tumors in the Fisher 344 rat that contain mutations in Ctnnbl, the gene for b-catenin, but the pattern of mutation differs from that found in human colon cancers. In both species, mutations affect the glycogen synthase kinase 3$\beta$ (GSK-3$\beta$) consensus region of $\beta$-catenin, but whereas they directly substitute critical Ser/Thr phosphorylation sites in human colon cancers, the majority of mutations cluster around Ser$_{33}$ in the rat tumors.(omitted)d)
