Purpose : Some patients develop side effects from theophylline even at low serum concentrations. We designed a prospective study to evaluate the side effects of theophylline. Methods : A Prospective, controlled trial study was conducted. The low-dose group received an intravenous continuous aminophylline dose of 5 mg/kg/day on the first day and subsequently 10 mg/kg/day on the following two days. The usual-dose group received 10 mg/kg/day for three days and the control group received normal saline for three days. Heart rate, respiratory rate, serum concentration of theophylline, and four adverse events (irritability, sleep disturbance, jitter, and vomiting) were checked at the time of admission and at 2, 12, 24, 48, and 72 h after the start of aminophylline infusions. Results : Nine patients out of 37 in the low-dose group and six of 21 in the usual-dose group dropped out because of uncontrolled irritability. The serum concentrations of theophylline in dropouts ($3.68{\pm}1.93$ ig/mL) and participants ($4.47{\pm}2.45$ ig/mL) were not significantly different. Irritability was a more frequent side effect in the usual-dose group at 12 h, but there was no difference between the low-dose and usual-dose groups in terms of vomiting, sleep disturbance, and jitter. Most of the severe adverse effects were observed in children below two years of age. Conclusion : Some patients dropped out regardless of the initiating aminophylline dose, especially patients under the age of two years.

An 11-year-old, castrated male Yorkshire terrier dog was presented with multiple plaques on right inguinal region. Grade II mast cell tumor was diagnosed. The dog was treated with Vinblastine and prednisone(PDS) initially. Because of poor response of the dog, CCNU was added for more aggressive treatment. After 5 weeks treatment of with CCNU, vinblastine and PDS, the lesion was improved. Moderate leukopenia was shown after 4 cycles of chemotherapy. The chemotherapy was re-administered since the patient recovered from the leukopenia. Though the same protocol was applied, no improvement of the lesion was observed. Moreover, the general body condition of the dog became worse and was euthanized by the owner's request. Necropsy was not permitted. The survival time was 330 days after start of the chemotherapy.

As the interest in entrepreneurship increases, entrepreneurship education programs for people that are preparing to start a business increased rapidly. Entrepreneurial supporting policy from the government has been diversified and because of increasing support of entrepreneurship education, the demand for entrepreneurship education has been rising. As of today, most educators of entrepreneurship education program are management major, expert or people who has the experience of starting a business. Lately, target of education has been diversified and as the demand of entrepreneurship education increases, the importance of systematic training for entrepreneurship educators have been raised. In the present study, we are going to take a look at the current situation of the training course for entrepreneurship educators in Korea and then do a comparative analysis of the cases overseas. And then we derived the improvement plan for the current situation of Korea. When our training courses for the entrepreneurship educators are compared to the courses overseas, we do not have a systematic and ongoing courses. Training for entrepreneurship educators is not something that can be done in a short period of time. The training of educators has to be done prior to the development of education programs. In accordance to the existing school system, we should strive to achieve educational infrastructure that cultivates specialized educators.
North Korea's continuous threats and provocative behaviors have aggravated tension on the Korean peninsula particularly with the recent nuclear weapons test. South Korea's best way to cope with this situation is to maintain the balance among three policy directions: dialogue, sanctions, and deterrence. Among the three, I argue that deterrence should be prioritized. There are different sources of deterrence such as military power, economic power, and diplomatic clouts. States can build deterrence capability independently. Alternatively, they may do so through relations with other states including alliances, bilateral relations, or multilateral relations in the international community. What South Korea needs most urgently is to maintain deterrence against North Korea's local provocations through the enhancement of independent military capability particularly by addressing the asymmetric vulnerability between militaries of the South and the North. Most of all, the South Korean government should recognize the seriousness of the negative consequences that North Korea's 'Nuclear shadow strategy' would bring about for the inter-Korea relations and security situations in Northeast Asia. Based on this understanding, it should develop an 'assertive deterrence strategy' that emphasizes 'multi-purpose, multi-stage, and tailored deterrence whose main idea lies in punitive retaliation.' This deterrence strategy requires a flexible targeting policy and a variety of retaliatory measures capable of taking out all targets in North Korea. At the same time, the force structures of the army, the air force, and the navy should be improved in a way that maximizes their deterrence capability. For example, the army should work on expanding the guided missile command and the special forces command and reforming the reserve forces. The navy and the air force should increase striking capabilities including air-to-ground, ship-to-ground, and submarine-to-ground strikes to a great extent. The marine corps can enhance its deterrence capability by changing the force structure from the stationary defense-oriented one that would have to suffer some degree of troop attrition at the early stage of hostilities to the one that focuses on 'counteroffensive landing operations.' The government should continue efforts for defense reform in order to obtain these capabilities while building the 'Korean-style triad system' that consists of advanced air, ground, and surface/ subsurface weapon systems. Besides these measures, South Korea should start to acquire a minimum level of nuclear potential within the legal boundary that the international law defines. For this, South Korea should withdraw from the Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty. Moreover, it should obtain the right to process and enrich uranium through changing the U.S.-South Korea nuclear cooperation treaty. Whether or not we should be armed with nuclear weapons should not be understood in terms of "all or nothing." We should consider an 'in-between' option as the Japanese case proves. With regard to the wartime OPCON transition, we need to re-consider the timing of the transition as an effort to demonstrate the costliness of North Korea's provocative behaviors. If impossible, South Korea should take measures to make the Strategic Alliance 2015 serve as a persisting deterrence system against North Korea. As the last point, all the following governments of South Korea should keep in mind that continuing reconciliatory efforts should always be pursued along with other security policies toward North Korea.
This study analyzed the effects of small business CEO's competencies type on business performance. For this purpose, 4 independent variables(strategic, marketing, management and network competencies) and 2 dependent variables(financial and non-financial performance) were used. 220 data were collected from the field survey questionnaires administered to a convenience sample of small business CEO. For hypothesis testing, the IBM SPSS Statistics 24.0 was used. Frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, correlation analysis, and hierarchical regression analysis were conducted. Empirical studies showed as follows. First, this study showed that the four competencies were significant to financial performance and the three competencies(except management competencies) were significant to non-financial performance. The higher small business CEO's competencies, the more likely it affects both the financial and non-financial performance of the company. Second, effects of small business CEO's competencies on financial performance were analyzed in order of network competencies > management competencies > strategic competencies > marketing competencies. Third, effects of small business CEO's competencies on non-financial performance were analyzed in order of network competencies > marketing competencies > strategic competencies. These findings had some implications. In academia, the impact forces of 4 small business CEO's competencies were analyzed for the first time. In practices, successful start-ups or sustainable management requires an interest in the active enhancement of small business CEO's competencies.

Vegetation phenology is the most important indicator of ecosystem response to climate change. Therefore it is necessary to continuously monitor forest phenology. This paper analyzes the phenological characteristics of forests in South Korea using the MODIS vegetation index with error from clouds or other sources removed using the HANTS algorithm. After using the HANTS algorithm to reduce the noise of the satellite-based vegetation index data, we were able to confirm that phenological transition dates varied strongly with altitudinal gradients. The dates of the start of the growing season, end of the growing season and the length of the growing season were estimated to vary by +0.71day/100m, -1.33day/100m and -2.04day/100m in needleleaf forests, +1.50day/100m, -1.54day/100m and -3.04day/100m in broadleaf forests, +1.39day/100m, -2.04day/100m and -3.43day/100m in mixed forests. We found a linear pattern of variation in response to altitudinal gradients that was related to air temperature. We also found that broadleaf forests are more sensitive to temperature changes compared to needleleaf forests.

This study was performed to evaluate the effect of the shrinkage stress induced by polymerization process of several light curing filling materials according to filling methods. High power light curing unit which has a plasma arc lamp was used and filling materials used were Filtek $Z-250^{(R)}$ composite resin, $Dyract^{(R)}$ AP compomer and $Tetric^{(R)}$ Flow flowable composite resin. Cavities were prepared on the permanent molars with width 3 mm, height 3 mm and depth 1.5 mm and the filling materials were filled with 1 step, 2 step layering technique and 3 step oblique filling methods. The results can be summarized as follows; 1. Strain values showed rapid increase from the start of light curing followed by gradual decrease afterwards with time. 2. Although the shrinkage stress value of $Z-250^{(R)}$ were shown to be relatively higher than $Dyract^{(R)}$ AP and $Tetric^{(R)}$ Flow, no statistically significant could be found between tested materials(p>0.05). 3. There were no statistically significant difference between 3 filling methods when using $Dyract^{(R)}$ AP and $Z-250^{(R)}$(p>0.05). 4. There were no statistically significant difference between shrinkage stress values obtained from samples prepared by different filling methods and materials(p>0.05).
This study is targeted to understand the giving of time and money among citizens in Seoul. It explores predictors of different combinations of giving behaviors: only volunteering, only donating, doing both, and neither. In exploring predictors, it also considers the effects of intensity in giving with differential measurement of general participation and regular participation. For the analysis, this study utilizes Seoul Welfare Panel Survey Data in 2008 and 2010 and employes a multi-nominal logistic regression model with selection of citizens' demographic factors, pro-social attitude factors, and psycho-social factors on these four type of giving behaviors. The findings show that previous giving experiences(+) and religious activities(+) have statistically significant effects on both selective and combined giving behavior. Gender(woman), income(+), education(+) have statistically significant effects on giving behaviors(only donating and doing both) related with donation. In the case of employment state, unemployment is significantly related to volunteering while employment is significantly related to donating. Finally, happiness(+) has significantly positive effect on intensive giving such as regular giving rather than general giving. This analysis has made a start in a new area of inquiry attempting to explain different giving behaviors with broadening and promoting understanding on giving behaviors. Moreover, it raises several implications for future research and strategic practice for resource mobilization of NPOs.
The shroud of the Chosun dynasty period originally meant the new start in the next world. Its basic principle was to wear the best clothes or wedding garments during one's life. The white hemp cloth-shroud worn during this time was formed after the 20th century. In the beginning it started simply by imitating the shroud of the common people. However recently many aspects of the trade have deteriorated by the commercialism of the shroud traders. So this study focuses on the way of keeping traditions and making the shroud desirable. First, the shroud was made of the best materials such as silk, hemp cloth, ramie cloth and cotton cloth in the past. A thought that the shroud material must be white hemp cloth is the result from misunderstanding of the traditional shroud of the Chosun dynasty period. We can produce beautiful shrouds using natural materials without losing dignity and at diverse prices. Second, the shroud was produced not only to keep the dignity of a dead person but also to avoid wasting the original cloth. Third, The shroud has pursued diversity in classifying the traditional style or the basic style. It is possible to select the shroud flexibly according to one's sense of values or the way the tomb was made. These days, the Korean full-dress attire and Wonsam (Korean woman's ceremonial clothes) are the standardized form of the ready-made shroud. The man's Korean full-dress attire on sale is sewn in the wrong way and its shape looks more like the Wonsam. I offer diverse shrouds of the Chosun dynasty period, for example, the official uniform, hemp cloth upper garment, men's black upper garment, Korean full-dress attire, Korean overcoat, Wonsam, the long hood worn by a Korean woman and a woman's long upper garment, so that we can see the Korean originality and beauty through the different types of shrouds. Also, I adjusted a number of items, undergarments and other articles according to the price. As mentioned before this study helps to portray a desirable understanding of the culture of the shroud. So I corrected many problems of the present shroud and propose a new type of shroud based on tradition. Furthermore, I recommend a way of making use of the Hanbok which the man wears during his life, at the wedding ceremony or a his 60th birthday without buying a new shroud.
This study was made to optimize the conditions needed to produce two types of gynogenetic diploids in the sweet fish, Plecoglossus altivelis. Firstly, ultraviolet (UV) ray doses between 3,000 erg to 14,000 erg/$\textrm{mm}^2$ were tested to inactivate sperm genetically. Based on the appearance of the haploid syndromes in the embryo, a dose of UV ray 6000~7000 erg was required to inactivate sperm genetically. Then, cold shock treatment at 1~2$^{\circ}C$ for 15~30 min were conducted to retain the 2nd polar body in inseminated egg. The best elapsed time before the start of the cold shock was examined between 5~8 min. The experiments in which began 5 min after insemination at 1~2$^{\circ}C$ during 17.5 min gave 21.2% survival rate and 89.7% normal eyed embryo rate. The gynogenetic diploid produced by suppression of the first cleavage, a considerably high number of heteroploids appeared and high mortality was observed at the metamorphosis stage, so further investigation is needed. The production of gynogenetic diploids were confirmed by GPI isozyme marker. The heterozygous type in Gpi-1 locus was observed in the meiotic-G2N as a result of gene-centromere recombination during meiosis. The heterozygous type was never observed in mitotic-G2N and showed segregation into two homozygous types at Gpi-1 locus.
