Ground-level ozone, an air pollutant that is monitored by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), damages human health by irritating the respiratory system, reducing lung function, damaging lung cells, and aggravating asthma and other chronic conditions. In March 2008, the EPA strengthened ozone standards by lowering acceptable limits from 84 parts per billion to 75 parts per billion. Here epidemiologic data is used to study the effects of ozone regulation on human health and assessed how various regulatory standards for ozone may affect nonaccidental mortality, including respiratory-related deaths during ozone season. The assessment uses statistical methods based on hierarchical Bayesian models to predict the potential effects of the different regulatory standards. It also analyzes the variability of the results and ho they are impacted by different modeling assumptions. We focused on the technical an statistical approach to assessing relationship between new ozone regulations and mortality while other researches have detailed the relationship between ozone and human mortality. We shows a statistical correlation between ozone regulations and mortality, with lower limits of acceptable ozone linked to a decrease in deaths, and projects that mortality is expected to decrease by reducing ozone regulatory standards.

The labeling for functionality of food or food components are recognized globally and are essential for the growth of dairy product industry. To expand the functional claims of dairy product especially fermented milk product, the regulations restricting the labeling of functionality should be amended as soon as possible. The labeling regulations of functionality and efficacy for processed and functional foods in related Acts and subordinated statues such as definition, scope of claims, etc. were reviewed and the problems existed in the system were identified. The definition and classification of efficacy for processed food in Food Sanitation Act were analyzed to revise the labeling regulation of dairy product. A draft of amended labeling regulation for the functionality of dairy product is proposed, which provides consumers with appropriate information of beneficial effects on health purpose for human body structure and function. In order to develop the dairy products and related industries, these contents should be considered when the annexed Table 14 in the Enforcement Rule of the Processing of Livestock Products Act is amended.

Integration and standardization of the related regulations and guidelines are necessary to evaluate a CFMS in a systematic manner. In this study, a hierachically categorized evaluation checklist was developed by collecting and structuring human factors issues listed in the various regulations, design requirements, and technical report. A PC-based database management system was developed to update and review the evaluation results. Standard interpretation examples, evaluation guidelines, and sample evaluation formats were also designed and integrated into the database system to reduce discrepancy in evaluation.

The CAD system which enables to design and draw the screw thread gauges was developed and constructed. This system was proposed based on Visual C++ Version 5.0. Even beginner can get drawings as well as concerned data for the manufacturing of screw thread limit gauges by selecting the input data. This system was constructed from relevant standards and regulations (based on the Korean Standard and referred to ISO and JIS), handbooks and textbooks. The system shall provide more powerful and user friendly tool for design and drawing for screw thread gauges such as metric fine and coarse threads, unified fine and coarse threads, Parallel and taper pipe threads. The results of this system are proved to be in good agreement with concerned standards and regulations.

The standards of acceptable limit and compensation is one of the most important things in environmental noise and vibration disputes resolution. In this paper, review on the present acceptable limit level and compensation standard in National Environmental Dispute Resolution Commission is introduced. Discordance of standards between in the regulation law and in the dispute resolution commission and it's improvement are discussed. Abnormal reasoning for compensation standards is pointed out from a author's private view.

This study proposed the optimum design values for the biological clean room system observing the regulations of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP). Even though the standard for industrial clean room system has been well established, the basis for biological food clean room system is the first stage. In order to prevent the contaminations in advance for food storages, processes, and distributions, the criterion of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point is positively required. This study also suggested the possible ways of how to avoid the hazardous contaminations.

Franchising has proved over many years to be a successful commercial vehicle for the international distribution of products and services. However, there has long been missing a user-friendly model contract that would reflect the diversity of international franchising contracts. Because the ICC has drafted a model form of international franchising contracts, taking into account the most commonly encountered clauses in franchising agreements, their model could be used as a checklist of the core obligations of a cross-border franchise contract. Because there is no internationally agreed-upon uniform legislation on franchising, parties must rely on national laws and regulations applicable to the international franchise (when such laws and regulations exist) and should therefore very carefully draft stipulations for the legal status of the contract. This study has been intended to cite some provisions for striking a fair balance between the interests of the franchisor and those of the franchisee and for avoiding unfair trade acts in international franchising contracts.

Ethylene oxide gas has been used as a cold sterilant for heat-sensitive medical equipments and as a fumigant for food for more than 30 years, and it is used more widely than radiation although radiation sterilization has made significant inroads in recent years. But according to recent studies of toxicities such as mutagenicity, haemolytic effect and possible carcinogenicity of Ethylene oxide (ETO) and its two main reaction products, Ethylene chlorohydrin (ETCH) and Ethylene glycol (ETG), Environmental Protection Agency in U.S.A. has suggested some regulations on residual gas in drug products and medical devices for human use. The mutagenic activity of ETO compared with that of X-ray has an equivalency of 1 ppm/hr for ETO as compared to 20 mrad for X-ray, and one could suggest the present maximum allowable concentration for ETO (50 ppm) should be 400 times lower than the radiation standard (2.5 mrad/hr). Although radiation sterilization has advantages of simplicity of operation and complete reliability, changes of physico-chemical properties with possible formation of toxic substances may occur. It is therefore necessary to make some regulations of our own for residual toxicities orginated from each sterilization method.

Effect of hand-transmitted vibration on human discomfort and health was reviewed. Since the effect by hand tool was more serious than those by any other vibration environments, western countries have protected hand tool workers by regulations. International organization for standardization legislate standard, ISO 5349, at 1979 for the measurement and evaluation of the effect. Afterwards, more than twenty standards on hand-arm vibration were enacted to Protect any damage of hand tool users. Even though Korea Standards adopted ISO 5349 in 2001, it is required an action plan should be applied to all of work environments, especially to the workers using pneumatic tool workwers such as miners, construction workers, and etc.
