  • One of the biggest problems found from the results of the various GIS-related projects is this. In spite of the fact that there is a national standards on GIS data structures, in building and managing the information on a variety of facilities in an area, each of the concerned organizations has been building the information using their own standards on the selection and organizations of the target facilities, naming convention, and coding regulations of the selected facilities. This distinctively exposes the limits and problems of the national GIS data standards in adopting to the regional GIS projects, resulting in considerable problems in sharing the information already built. The national GIS data standards, therefore, should be expanded and revised. As an effort to solve the above-mentioned problems, this paper suggests an idea on the revision and expansion of the national GIS data standards in the field of road and related facilities. It is believed that same efforts should be made for the other areas of the national GIS data standards to increase the applicability to various GIS projects.

Effects of the seat position in the theater on visual fatigue, presence and perceived characteristics (3D 영화 상영관의 좌석별 위치에 따른 시각피로도, 프레즌스, 그리고 인지된 특성 분석)

  • This paper deals with the effects of seat position in the theater on viewers' visual fatigue, presence, and perceived characteristics. As a result of this study, there is a significantly positive effect of Dx(deviation from mean distance from the screen) and viewing angle on visual fatigue. Second, there is no significant effect of seat position on presence. Finally, there is a significantly negative effect of Dx and viewing angle on perceived characteristics. This means, as the author assume, the seat position in the theater during watching a 3D movie is important in case of visual fatigue and perceived characteristics. This paper provides an empirical result related to effect of spatial variable at 3D theater on 3D effect. The results could be helpful to establish spatial standard in 3D theater and 3D contents; furthermore, it could help to establish regulations of visual fatigue induced from 3D effects and indications for 3D efficiency.

  • Recently radio communication environment have being standarded by the leading nations against the various technology of communication. Therefore to manage the changing communication environment, research about technology standard and standardization has gone variously in our country. In this dissertation, we discuss the trends of policy and analyze the technical regulation for the extremely low power devices in other countries. In addition, this paper proposes a draft revision of technical regulation for new efficient electric field strength of extremely low power devices in accordance with the technical requirement of Electromagnetic Compatibility. Based on these researches, the contents of this study will be useful to contribute a domestic efficient expansion and development of extremely low power devices and strengthen a competitiveness on international communication markets.

Classification of Food Safety Crises and Standard Setting for Crisis Level in Food Industry (식품산업체가 겪는 위기의 분류와 위기 수준 판단)

  • Objectives: Food safety has become one of the major public-concerning issues in Korea. In order to set guidelines to create manuals for the response to a food safety crisis by food industry, this paper classified food safety crises and suggested techniques to determine crisis level. Methods: This study clarified common terminologies and definitions including in food safety crises. It reviewed various food safety crises and described characteristics, types, and states of crises. Results: The results of this study suggested that a food safety crisis implied a situation in which hazards/risk spreading in the food supply chain was widely described, causing strong public concern followed by a socioeconomic impact, and therefore, requiring the implementation of a prompt and full response regarding the situation. In terms of seeking response plans, food safety crises might be classified according to the penalties resulting from violations of laws and regulations, causative substances, stages of the food supply chain, and first contact point for incidents. The crisis level for a food safety crisis could be classified according to its severity parameters. The guideline matrix was divided into four major stages: Blue/guarded, Yellow/elevated, Orange/high, and Red/severe. This study also suggested several methods for determining the crisis level, such as the simple judgement method, scoring methods using a check-list and a weighted check-list. Conclusion: The severity of related parameters might be of great importance in understanding a crisis and determining response options/challenges for crisis levels.

Empirical Analysis for Catholic Liturgical Vestments after 1960's - Focused on the Collections of Daejeon Saint Mary's Girls' High School - (1960년대 이후 가톨릭 전례복의 실증적 고찰 - 대전성모여자고등학교 소장품을 중심으로 -)

  • This study summarizes the dissemination aspects of liturgical vestments in Korea, and organizes the value and meanings of these disseminations as it appeared in the history of costumes by carrying out an empirical analysis on the relics of liturgical vestments since the modern times. It also examines its design characteristics as well. Liturgical vestments have symbolic meaning for the purpose and solar term of ceremonial occasions and it also functions as a way to differentiate the position and duty of the clergy. Liturgical vestments developed on the basis of ancient Greek-Roman costumes and transformed each situation and social trend of the age. Korean liturgical vestments started with their traditional costumes, in 1887, it were changed into French(western) style with freedom of religious. After the secondary Vatican Council held in 1962, various regulations were changed to spread the Catholic doctrines and ideology. This study conducted an empirical analysis and design consideration on the 28 relics of modern liturgical vestments on the basis of the foregoing standard and concept. As a result of analysis, relics were investigated as research materials worn by Bishops after 1960s. And design elements are that the relics used materials and ornament of Hanbok with flower patterns and decoration such as letter patterns including 壽(life) 福(luck) 喜(pleasure) as well as Chrysanthemum and Mancaowen design. These transition reflected by amend regulation of Vatican Council II. Accordingly, this data has been confirmed to be important for the history of costumes as it informs what process of changes liturgical vestments spread in Korea went through before they are worn as current appearance.

A Study on the Military took Expressed in Women's Fashion Design (여성 패션에 표현된 밀리터리룩에 관한 고찰)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the military look, which is one of the most popular fashion trends in the 1996 women's fashion. Military look is that imitates or reinterprets the Army uniform which is functionally useful. After World War 1 , military look appeared in the women's fashion which is functionable tailor suits style, ankle-length skirt, pants or boiler suits for work wear, overcoat against the cold, and there was an attempt to introduce a National Standard Dress. In the middle of World War II, there was a similiar circumstance in women's military fashion. There were functionable tailor suits, knee-length skirt, pants or siren suits for work wear. And the Utility Dress was nationally recommended. In addition, the regulations were introduced to control the materials and styles used for some clothes. In the 70s, as the resistance movement as counterculture began to wear Army look which was army-uniform or army caps with 'US ARMY' logo and badges, and became very popular among the youth. In the 90s, military look has got one of the fashionable fashion themes with revival of Neo- Hippie look. Not only street fashion but also high fashion designer selected the trend for '96A/W The characteristics of the military look are khaki colors or camouflage prints, epaulets, big outpockets with flap, golden buttons and army belt. As I examined, during the World War I and ll, women wore the military look because of shortage of goods and work or service, and it was recommended by government. Though the military look in 70s, began by the resistance movement, at least it became a popular fashion. Military look in 90s, does not have inner symbolic meaning or ideology but it only represents fashion trend and revival fashion.

  • The statistics of disaster and safety control which have been produced by NEMA(National Emergency Management Agency) and other related agencies have some problems which show redundancies and the lack of connections. These problems can result in disbelief of disaster-management related policies and cause uncertainties on standardization. One of the main problems is caused by the lack of an integrated system that can coordinate available statistical resources. The objectives of this paper are to propose possible ways for the rearrangement of statistics categories, the improvement of statistics indicators and the integration of statistics of disaster and safety management based on the improvement of related laws and regulations. Through the integrated system for an efficient production of disaster and safety-related statistics, it will be possible to establish more accredited disaster-management policies based on the scientific statistics and international standard.

Evaluation of the Luminous Intensity Distribution of Stop Lamp for Agricultural Tractors (농업용 트랙터 제동등 광도 성능 평가)

  • This study was initiated to prevent rear-end collision which causes the most frequent human damage by agricultural tractors. Therefore, this study was aimed to evaluate the luminous performance of a stop lamp for an agricultural tractor which could reduce rear-end collision. The performance test of luminous intensity distribution was conducted for a total of 12 tractor models classified by size (above 44 kW for large, 30~43 kW for medium, and below 29 kW for small) and production area (domestic, foreign manufacture) in accordance with Regulation No.7 of UNECE Vehicle Regulations-1958 Agreement considering ${\pm}$20 standard deviation. Three out of 5 large, 3 out of 4 medium, and all small tractors were resulted as inadequate for the test criterion. This study found that the luminous performance results were better as the size of agricultural tractors became bigger. One out of 4 foreign and 2 out of 8 domestic manufacturers were suitable for the test criterion, and overall no difference from the luminosity test results was observed between domestic and foreign manufacturers. In addition, the measuring points, HV, 5L, 5R, 5U and 5D with the minimal luminosity revealed flaws (80% of the proportion of faulty products). Therefore, it is urgent to improve the quality for measuring points (HV, 5U, 5L, 5R, 5D) of stop lamps to apply Regulation No. 7.

Leakage-reduction Measures at a Joint between CPVC Piping for a Sprinkler System and a Pipe Expansion (스프링클러설비용 CPVC관과 신축배관 접속부분에서의 누수저감 대책에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, we try to suggest measures to reduce leakage at a joint between CPVC piping for a sprinkler system and a pipe expansion through reviews of domestic and foreign standards and related tests. The quality of the waterproof rubber packing material between a valve socket and pipe expansion nut was examined. In the leak test, the valve socket material over the expansion part of the metal pipe nut was found to use a metal part or a schlorinated polyvinyl chloride pipe nut part. In addition, the KS B 0221 standard for parallel pipe threads with threaded and thread inspection criteria and inspection standards in order to ensure an acceptable quality of valve socket, there is a need to amend the regulations to comply with the KS B 5223 (screw thread limit gauges parallel pipe threads). We do not have detailed standards for expansion piping nuts for waterproof rubber ring material, so we need to amend the relevant criteria for EPDM material to be used with excellent waterproofing, for which both NBR and EPDM are currently used.

Comparative Study of ISO Standards for an Effective Implementation of the Domestic Medical Device GMP System (ISO 국제표준의 비교 연구를 통한 국내 의료기기 GMP 제도의 효과적인 운영 방안)

  • Purpose: It can easily be understood that more rules and regulations need to be imposed on the medical device industry due to its impact on public health and hygiene. Domestic medical device manufacturers are thus required to comply with the requirements specified in the good manufacturing practice (GMP) system, and it is essential to abide by the international standards as well to sustain their global competitiveness. The main purpose of this study is to review the guidelines of the medical device GMP system in Korea and propose future directions for further enhancement of the GMP system. Methods: Specific requirements prescribed in international standards, such as ISO 9001:2015, ISO 13485:2016, ISO 14971:2012, and ISO 14155:2011, are analyzed and compared with the domestic GMP system. Results: It has been observed that the generic international standard related to quality management system, ISO 9001:2015, lays out the foundations for the development of quality management system relevant to medical device industry, ISO 13485:2003, with which the domestic GMP system is fully compatible. Further, several important aspects of risk management and clinical trials of medical devices are also recognized and included in the domestic medical device GMP system. Conclusion: Even though specific requirements of individual ISO standards are slightly different from each other, their overall structure and framework may contribute to the development and enhancement of globally competitive GMP system of the domestic medical device industry.
