This study examined the level of experienced problem and related variables of farming women as a part of study on problem diagnosis and status enhancement of rural women. The subjects were 980 married farming women living in rural area. Data were analyzed by frequencies, percentages, mean, standard deviation, factor analysis, t-test, ANOVA, Duncan-test, and multiple regression. The major findings were as follows : 1) Rural women experienced five categorized problems(farming work & health problem, institution & facilities problem, personality differences & communication problem with husband, child & in-law relatives problem, and husbands violence & sexual problem. 2) The significant variables that influenced on experienced problems were conflict coping behaviors, husbands housework participation, farming work time, age, the level of health, and income etc. Additionally socio-demographic factors, their vocational consciousness, housework sharing, and couples difference of sex-role attitude as related variables of the level of experienced problem of farming women were exmained and discussed the implication.

The purpose of the study is to develop the normal voice database and to analyze the acoustic characteristics of Korean adults' voices by gender using MDVP. Eight categories in the 34 parameters of MDVP were analyzed in the voices of 170 Korean normal adults taken from /a/ vowel. Among them, Fundamental Frequency Parameters and Frequency Perturbation Parameters were significantly different by gender. In addition, Fundamental Frequency Parameters of our data were remarkably different from the data suggested in the MDVP program which currently used in clinics. Therefore, the data obtained from the current study can be effectively used for the diagnosis of voice disorders of Korean adults as the standard parameter values of MDVP.

The consulting industry had enjoyed growth rates over the past 20 years which show no signs of slowing in their momentum. Since 1995, it began to discuss institutionalization of consulting in the agricultural sector in Korea. Rural Development Adminstration has launched farm management consulting project by means of benchmarking for farming innovation in 1988, which consists of establishing consulting team, developing standard diagnosis form of sixty crops and materials, training consultants, having various public relations, and making information systems. Until October, 2001, sixty seven thousands of farmers have benefited on this project. It is now appreciated as a alternative for new agricultural extension approach. Analyzing the changes of farm management practice level through consulting shows improvement, which data have been stored in web database. It is expected that farm management consulting project be main stream of agricultural extension in this country.

The aim of this study was to implement the system that could evaluate the function of urinary tract with noninvasive and comfort methods. There for in this study hardware device and computer software have been developed that enables the analysis of the urine flow rate and vesical pressure signal measured during voiding. These signals were recorded simultaneously and transmitted to the PC. For the measurement system evaluation, the model system for the lower urinary system of men was designed. From the evaluation of the model system, vesical pressure was correlated with the occlusion degree. In a pilot study on 5 male subjects, means of standard deviation was 1.06, average error rate was 2.09 and coefficient variation was 2.09.

The Swyer-James syndrome is a relatively uncommon disease entity presented with unilateral hyperlucent lung due to hypoplasia of a pulmonary artery and bronchiectasis of the affected lung. The main finding is a hyperlucent lung with small hilar shadows on the chest X-ray. Pulmonary angiography is the standard method for diagnosis. We report a case of the Swyer-James syndrome with a brief review of literature.

The economic scale of nuclear application is a good indicator to show how the radiation technology is useful and contribute to improve public welfare and living standard. Recent research in Japan shows that the economic scale of nuclear field was 4,112 B¥ for radiation application(46%) and 4,741 B¥ for nuclear energy (54%) playing a role of "two wheels of one cart" in nuclear field and the total 8,853 B¥ constitutes 1.8% of gross domestic products (GDP). The radiation application consisted of 2,295 B¥ (56%) in industry (semiconductor, sterilization, nondestructive testing, radiation processing of tires, etc.), 1,538 B¥ (37%) in medicine (therapy and diagnosis such as X-ray, nuclear medicine, computed tomography, etc.) and 279 B¥ (7%) in agriculture (mutation breeding, food irradiation, sterile insect technique, etc.). Radiation application by ${\gamma}$-ray, electron beam and ion beam is steadily increasing in Japan.

An 11-year-old intact male mixed-breed dog was referred for evaluation of a splenic mass. On radiographs, the cardiac apex, stomach, and head of the spleen were on the right and the descending colon was on the left of the midline. In addition, the left kidney was located more cranially than the right kidney. Standard two-dimensional echocardiographic images were obtained from each inverted left and right parasternal windows. Furthermore, the spleen was observed on the right side and a splenic mass was found on the splenic tail. Based on the radiographic and ultrasonographic characteristics of the patient, a diagnosis of situs inversus totalis (SIT) and a splenic mass was made, and splenic resection was performed successfully with no unexpected complications. The splenic mass was confirmed histopathologically as being marginal zone lymphoma (MZL). This report describes a dog with SIT and splenic MZL.

Although many imaging modalities can play some roles in the diagnosis of vertebral artery dissection (VAD), digital subtraction angiography (DSA) remains the gold standard method, with the highest detection rate and ability to assist in planning for endovascular treatment. However, this tool is often avoided in children because its invasive nature and it exposes them to radiation. High resolution magnetic resonance imaging (HR-MRI) have been suggested to be a reliable and non-invasive alternative, but it has never been discussed in children in whom vertebral artery dissection is a rare condition. In this report, we evaluate a case of a 2-year-old child who initially presented with cerebellar symptoms, and was early diagnosed with vertebral artery dissection using HR- MRI and was successfully treated.

SNOMED CT는 전자의무기록(EMR) 시스템에서 진료기록을 표준화된 방법으로 기록 및 관리하기 위한 표준 의학용어 체계이다. 하지만, SNOMED CT는 그 표현의 다양성으로 인해 진단, 수술 등의 환자의 상태를 일관성 있게 작성하기가 매우 어려운 문제가 있다. 이는 동일한 임상적 의미가 다양한 용어 및 그 조합으로 표현되고 또한 동일한 용어임에도 다양한 임상적 의미가 내포될 수 있기 때문이다. 본 연구에서는 SNOMED CT에서 발생하는 용어의 중복성 문제를 분석하고 의학용어를 빠르고 효율적으로 검색하기 위한 검색 브라우저의 요구 조건을 제시한다.

Patients with masticatory muscle tendon-aponeurosis hyperplasia (MMTAH) experience limited mouth opening due to restricted muscle extension. Hyperplastic aponeurosis and tendons lead to the restriction of muscle extension. The criteria for the diagnosis of MMTAH are limited mouth opening that progresses very slowly from adolescence, intraoral palpation reveals a hard cord-like structure along the overhang of the anterior border of the masseter muscle on maximum mouth opening, and a square mandible. Conservative treatment, including pharmacotherapy, occlusal splint and physical therapy are ineffective. The standard therapy is surgical treatment, such as anterior partial aponeurectomy of the masseter muscle and coronoidectomy. The long-term results are very satisfying.
