CDISC (Clinical Data Interchanging Standards Consortium) standards are to support the acquisition, exchange, submission and archival of clinical trial and research data. SDTM (Study Data Tabulation Model) for Case Report Forms (CRFs) was recommended for U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulatory submissions since 2004. Although the SDTM Implementation Guide gives a standardized and predefined collection of submission metadata 'domains' containing extensive variable collections, transforming CRFs to SDTM files for FDA submission is still a very hard and time-consuming task. For addressing this issue, we developed metadata based SDTM mapping rules. Using these mapping rules, we also developed a semi-automatic tool, named CDISC Transformer, for transforming clinical trial data to CDISC standard compliant data. The performance of CDISC Transformer with or without MDR support was evaluated using CDISC blank CRF as the 'gold standard'. Both MDR and user inquiry-supported transformation substantially improved the accuracy of our transformation rules. CDISC Transformer will greatly reduce the workloads and enhance standardized data entry and integration for clinical trial and research in various healthcare domains.

웹 기반 교육의 대중화로 학습 보조 도구를 이용한 다양한 웹 학습 방법들이 제시되고 있으며 또한 이틀 시스템의 운용 환경, 컨텐츠명세 그리고 활용 등의 상호 운용성 지원을 위한 표준화에 대한 연구가 국제표준기관 등을 통해 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 특히 e-learning 개발 환경을 위한 Learning Technology Standard Architecture(LTSA)를 기능별 5계층을 IEEK에서 제정하였다. 이 LTSA의 학습 보조 도구 표준화 영역에서 학습과정 피드백을 제공하는 질의 응답 학습 방법에 대한 표준규약기능을 명세하지 않고 있다. 본 논문에서는 국제표준화 기술인 ITSA 시스템 구성중 제 3계층을 기반한 질의 응답 학습 도구에 대해 연구한다. 데이터 중심으로 작성된 LTSA 컴포넌트를 객체지향 또는 컴포넌트 패라다임으로 재 정의하는 모델을 제안하고 기존의 Loaming Object Meatdata(LOM)을 참조하여 질의 응답 메타 데이터인 Query Answer Metadata(QAM)를 서술한다. 이들 재정의 모델과 QAM을 통합한 Query Answer Learning Tool(QALT)를 분석, 설계하여 프로토타이핑시스템으로 구현한다. 이를 통해 웹 기반 교육의 효율성 및 관련 도구 개발의 품질 및 생산성 효율을 가진다.

다양한 멀티미디어 및 응용 분야를 위한 표준 개발이 진행되어 왔으며 이러한 멀티미디어 및 응용을 위한 표준화는 ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 32/WG 4에서 ISO/IEC 13249 SQL/MM 패키지로서 진행되고 있다. 이 논문에서는 메타데이터 레지스트리에 대한 일관성 있는 접근을 위한 표준으로서 현재 개발 중인 SQL/MM 제8부에 대하여 기술한다. 국제 표준인 ISO/IEC 11179 메타데이터 레지스트리가 다양한 분야에서 시스템으로 개발되어 활용되고 있으나 이러한 시스템 간 정보 교환 및 공유를 위해 요구되는 표준화 된 질의 처리 방식이 없기 때문에 여러 가지 문제를 초래한다. 따라서 이 논문에서 기술하는 SQL/MM 제8부는 이러한 문제점을 해결할 수 있을 뿐 아니라 이해를 높일 수 있다는 장점을 지닌다.

근래 e-러닝이 활성화됨에 사용자 맞춤형 교육에 필요한 효과적인 e-러닝 콘텐츠 검색의 필요성이 대두되었다. 이에 시맨틱 웹 기술을 이용하여 e-러닝 콘텐츠를 검색하기 위한 다양한 연구가 수행되고 있다. 또한 시맨틱 웹의 핵심 기술인 온톨로지를 e-러닝에 활용하려는 각종 연구가 수행되고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 기존의 메타테이타 표현 방식이 가지는 문제점을 해결하여 온톨로지를 이용한 효과적인 검색에 메테데이타를 활용하기 위하여 2004년 12월 국내 최초 e-러닝 관련 기술표준규격(KS X 7001)으로 제정된 KEM(Korea Education Metadata)를 owl로 바인딩하였다. 또한 그 과정에서 발생하는 각종 문제와 해결방안에 대하여 자세하게 논하였다.

Augmented reality (AR) is a popular service in mobile devices, and many AR applications can be downloaded from app stores. As TV broadcasting has continued to integrate with the Internet, it has become an area in which the AR concept is able to reside, although in a simple form, such as an advertisement placed in the static region of a scene. There are some restrictions against TV broadcasting realizing AR since TVs are fixed devices and typically do not have GPS, geomagnetic, or acceleration sensors, which are standard equipment in mobile devices. However, the desire to experience AR on a large TV screen has triggered research and development for an ideal AR business model and service type. This paper introduces several use cases for augmented broadcasting services and also presents an augmented broadcasting metadata scheme designed for a broadcasting environment. We also verify some of the use cases and an augmented broadcasting metadata scheme in an implemented augmented broadcasting system based on a hybrid TV platform.

TV-Anytime은 XML을 PVR이나 방송서비스에 적용하기 위하여 서비스, 컨텐츠 정보 표현을 위한 스키마와 전송 프로토콜을 정의하여 많은 방송 규격에서 참조 문서로 활용되고 있다. 높은 확장성과 가독성에 비해 텍스트기반으로 정보를 기술하여 문서가 커지는 단점이 존재하며 이를 극복하기 위한 인코딩 알고리즘이 많이 제안되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 TVA 디스크립션을 전송하는 과정에서 문서의 크기를 최소화 할 수 있는 최적화 정보를 서버 단에서 반영하는 효율적인 인코딩 방식과 캡슐화 과정에서 색인 정보에 필요한 정보를 줄이고 정보를 빠르고 직관적으로 수신할 수 있는 인덱싱 방식을 제안한다.

In this study, data repository information registered in re3data (re3data.org), a research data registry, was collected. Based on collected data, the current status was analyzed for 354 repositories (approximately 14% of total repositories) in the field using keywords in the ecological field suggested by two experts. Major metadata formats used to describe data in ecological research data repositories include Federal Geographic Data Committee Content Standard for Digital Geospatial Metadata (FGDC/CSDGM), Dublin Core, ISO 19115, Ecological Metadata Language (EML), Directory Interchange Format (DIF), Darwin Core, Data Documentation Initiative (DDI), and DataCite Metadata Schema. The number of ecological repositories according to country is 102 in the US, 34 in Germany, 31 in Canada, and one in Korea. A total of 771 non-profit organizations and 12 for-profit organizations are involved in the construction of the ecological field research data repository. Data version control ratio of the ecological field research data repositories registered in re3data was analyzed to be somewhat higher (86.6%) than the total ratio (83.9%). Results of this study can be used to establish policies to build and operate a research data repository in the ecological field.

웹의 데이터의 양이 증가함에 따라, 원하는 데이터를 정확하게 검색하는 것은 어렵다. 그래서 많은 연구자들은 웹의 자원을 효율적으로 검색하기 위해 노력하고 있다. W3C는 RDF 메타데이터를 이용하여 웹에 있는 자원의 의미를 부여하는 표준을 제정하였다. 지금까지 RDF 메타데이터는 주로 웹에 있는 문서 데이터를 표현하는데 사용되어 왔으나 웹에 있는 응용 프로그램을 위한 메타데이터를 표현하는 데는 사용되지 않았다. 본 논문에서는 웹에 있는 응용프로그램을 검색하기 위해 RDF 메타데이터를 이용하는 방법을 제안한다. 우선 응용프로그램의 정보를 저장하는 RDF 데이터 모델을 정의하고, RDF 데이터 모델을 참조하는 RDF 스키마를 정의한다 그리고 적용 가능성을 보이기 위해 응용프로그램을 검색하는 시스템 prototype을 설계한다. 이 시스템은 사용자가 필요로 하는 응용프로그램을 좀 더 쉽게 얻을 수 있는 기대 효과를 가지며, 응용프로그램에 대한 검색 기능 향상의 효율성을 기할 수 있다.
