In 15 schools where were chosen each location (East, West, South, North, Central) of Seoul area, 9 items were measured such as thermo circumstance(temperature, relative humidity, air current, intensity of illumination) particulate matter, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, and nitrogen dioxide being based on the school indoor environment standard. It was showed that indoor temperature, relative humidity and air movement were suitable in comparison with school indoor environment standard. Intensity of illumination was suitable in comparison with all schools, only exception 2 schools. In all investigated schools were adequate for carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide, in which each indoor environment standard (10ppw, 0.25ppm/hr, 0.15ppm/hr), but in 5 schools the carbon dioxide were exceeded for standard limit 1,000ppm of Korea. Indoor concentration of dust(PM-10) induced from respiration dust the standard of Korea ($150{\mu}g/m^3$) at all schools.
Objective : We proposed fundamental rules of prospective Korean Standard Classification of Diseases(Oriental Medicine). Methods : We analysed Korean Standard Classification of Diseases(Oriental Medicine)(established in 1994) in comparison with ICD-10 and Chinese Standard Classification of Disease(Traditional Chinese Medicine). Secondly, we analysed the diagnostic structure of Modem oriental medicine. Results : Korean Standard Classification of Diseases has an inappropriate writing structure, logical errors of classification, confusion of symptoms, 'bing', and 'zheng', inappropriate comparison of disease designations in oriental medicine and western medicine, and the ommission of important items. Secondly, we demonstrate the relations of 'bing' and 'zheng' in modem oriental medicine and disease designations in oriental medicine and western medicine. Conclusions : We propose the separate classification of 'bing' and 'zheng', the qualification of designated names, the structure of 'bing' and 'zheng' system, and a different writing method.

Comparison of sulfur dioxide primary standard gases of the Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science (KRISS, Korea) and the National Physical Laboratory (NPL, UK) was performed. 100 ${\times}$10-6 mol/mol and 1,000 ${\times}$10-6 mol /mol primary standard gases (designated NPL S115 and S114, respectively) prepared gravimetrically and validated in NPL were used as transfer standards. Transfer standards were analyzed by NDIR sulfur dioxide analyzer and compared with KRISS PSM 112-03-624 and PSM 112-03-625 prepared gravimetrically. Adsorption corrected relative deviations of the primary standard gases were agreed to within 0.1%, and this agreement is within the expanded uncertainties (k = 2) of the primary standards at the two laboratories.

The Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science (KRISS) established a new standard of the absorbed dose to water in LINAC X-ray beams. To confirm the equivalence of the new standard with other national metrology institutes (NMIs), a bilateral comparison study of the absorbed dose to water in high energy X-ray beams was performed between the KRISS and the National Metrology Institute of Japan (NMIJ). The comparison was made in-directly. Three transfer chambers were calibrated in the high energy X-ray beams by both laboratories and the calibration coefficients were compared. The average ratios of the calibration coefficients of the three transfer chambers obtained by the KRISS to those obtained by the NMIJ were 1.004, 1.006, 1.006, 1.007 for 6, 10, 15 and 18 MV X-ray beams, respectively. The calibration coefficients obtained at the KRISS were higher than those at the NMIJ but they were in good agreement within the expanded uncertainty of 1.0% (k = 2). The results of this study will be used as the evidence for the KRISS standard being comparable with those of other NMIs, temporarily, in the interim period up to finalizing a key comparison study, BIPM.RI(I)-K6 managed by the Consultative Committee for Ionizing Radiation.

Since the necessity for the accurate measurement in the field of acoustics, vibration, and ultrasound was internationally increased, CCAUV (Consultative Committee for Acoustics , Ultrasound and Vibration) was created by the CIPM (International Committee for Weights and Measures) in 1998. One of the first activities of CCAUV is the key comparison on 1' standard microphones. The key comparison was done from April. 1999 to April. 2001 and 12 NMIs(National Metrology Institutes) including KRISS (Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science) were participated. The pilot laboratory was the National Physical Laboratory(NPL). The traveling standards were two LSIP(Laboratory Standard 1' Pressure Type) microphones specified in IEC 61094-1 and the calibration frequency ranges covers from 63Hz to 8kHz. In this paper, the analyzed results in the final report were summarized.

In this study, inter-laboratory comparison was done using elemental analyzer-isotope ratio mass spectrometers (EA-IRMSs) to determine carbon and nitrogen contents as well as stable carbon and nitrogen isotopic compositions (${\delta}^{13}C$ and ${\delta}^{15}N$) of five environmental samples containing lake and marine sediments, higher plant leaves, and fish muscle, and one organic analytical standard (Protein (Casein) Standard OAS). Five national laboratories participated in this comparison study, and each laboratory analyzed all five samples and the analytical standard. Results showed that variations in total organic carbon (TOC) and total nitrogen (TN) contents as well as ${\delta}^{13}C_{TOC}$ and ${\delta}^{15}N_{TN}$ values among the laboratories were large compared to the analytical uncertainties. The results highlighted the inhomogeneity of the test samples and thus, the need to select suitable standard reference materials for future inter-laboratory studies. Further inter-laboratory comparison exercises could promote good measurement practices in the acquisition of stable carbon and nitrogen isotopic composition data.

It is difficult to change or remedy concrete structure after hardened. It is usual to evaluate the quality of hardened concrete using several test method. This study was performed to make fundamental data that could be used to evaluate the quality of hardened concrete. This study is to estimate mix proportion of hardened concrete. Each elements of concrete needed different estimation methods. First, the cement that handled by the most important compounds measured by XRF(X-ray fluorecence) machine with scanning Ca-K${\alpha}$. Second, the coarse aggregate that divided by maximum size measured by the area comparison method that starts from the assumption of uniform distribution. Third, the fine aggregate measured by the weight comparison method that needs several prerequsite constants which concerned cement hydration reaction. Fourth, the water content would be estimated by expert system that has data base of design data, the contents of above estimation results, the characteristics of concrete strength. As the result of the above research, some conclusions are as follows. The cement estimation method resulted by reliability of mean 96.7%, standard deviation 3.92. The area comparison method resulted by reliability of mean 95.3%, standard deviation 2.08. The weight comparison method resulted by reliability of mean 93.3%, standard deviation 3.35.

There are two basic concepts in industrial radiographic examination; one is a radio-graphic sensitivity, and the other is a acceptance criteria. The comparison of these main points are studied for KS Standard and ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code. From the results of the experiment, higher radiographic sensitivity is required in KS Standard when the thickness of material to be examined is less than 20mm in single wall technique. The acceptance criteria for linear type indications are described on same concept in two standards, whereas the acceptance criteria for rounded indications of KS Standard which mainly depends upon the object thickness are more severe than those of ASME BPV Code.
This study proposes an essential process of type certificate, which is load comparison for proving the calculated design load. The load measurement was carried out according to IEC 61400-13 standard and the load calculation was performed with same condition using FLEX 5 code. For more accurate load simulation, the controller parameter of original model at the design stage was modified to site optimized value and some node points are added to coincidence with measurement. The load comparison was performed with various wind parameter, turbulence intensity and wind shear. As a result, simulated loads ware good agreed with the measured load. Therefore, the calculated design loads according to IEC 61400-1 standard were proved to valid.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the difference in water law and drinking water standards in Korea and five other countries. The documentary research method was used for this study and the Dong-A newspaper(1920-1993), journal and book related water pollution law were used as an analysis data. The results can be summarized as follow: 1. Law related water pollution in Korea was legislated last and characterized by frequent law revision in comparison with other countries. 2. Drinking water standards in Korea was strict in standard item and standard value.
