왜곡된 로켓 모터 추력 추정에 관한 이론적 연구 (A Theoretical Study on the Estimation of Distorted Thrust of Solid Rocket Motor)

  • 로켓모터의 성능을 확인하기 위해 지상에서 연소시험을 수행하여 추력, 압력, 온도. 그리고 변형률 등 필요한 데이터를 계측하지만 측정된 추력은 시험대 동특성으로 인해 실제 추력과는 달리 과도진동이 포함된 왜곡된 형태를 나타낼 수 있다. 이러한 경우에는 추력 최대치나 추력 상승시간 등 로켓모터의 성능을 결정하는 값들의 정확한 값을 얻지 못할 수 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 이러한 추력 왜곡 현상의 원인을 분석하고 그 문제점을 해결하기 위한 이론적인 방법을 제안한다. 또한 제안된 방법을 가상 시험대에 적용하여 제안한 방법의 적용 가능성을 확인하고, 차후 실험 데이터를 이용한 추력 추정의 기본적인 방향을 제시하고자 한다.

설악산 잣나무(Pinus koraiensis) 천연림의 해발고별 임분구조 및 생장특성 (Stand Structure and Growth Characteristics at Different Elevations of the Korean Pine(Pinus koraiensis) Natural Forest on Mt. Seorak)

  • This study was conducted to analyze the stand structure and growth characteristics along different elevations of Pinus koraiensis natural forests located at mean elevation 1,300 m (site1), 900 m (site2) and 600 m (site3) on Mt. Seorak. Mean DBH and height of P. koraiensis were 25.4 cm and 12.3 m in site1, while that of site2 and 3 were over 40 cm and 20 m, respectively. For this reason, there was 5 times difference of single tree volume between site1 and other sites(p<0.05). Mean ringwidth increment of P. koraiensis was 1.1 mm/yr in site1, 1.5 mm/yr in site2 and 2.6 mm/yr in site3. However, recent growth of ringwidth has increased by 8.6% in site1, whereas site2 and 3 have fallen by approximately 50% over the last 10 years. These results signify that the growth and distribution of natural P. koraiensis are effected by different climatic environment along elevations.

소형 독립형 풍력발전기의 진동 모니터링 및 분석 (Vibration Monitoring and Analysis of a Small Stand Alone Wind Turbine Generator)

  • A vibration monitoring system for a small size wind turbine (WIT) is established and operated. The monitoring system consists of monolithic integrated chip accelerometer for vibration monitoring, anemometers for wind data acquisition and auxiliary sensors for atmospheric data. Using the monitoring system, vibration response of a 6kW stand alone WIT generator is investigated. Acceleration data of the WIT tower under various operation condition is acquired in real time using LabVIEW and the data are remotely transferred from the test site to the laboratory in school by internet. Vibration response characteristics of the tower structure are diagnosed in the aspect of stability of W/T. Wind data and electrical power performance are also investigated with the stability problem.

Estimating Dense Forest Canopy Structure Using Airborne Laser Scanner Data

  • Returned laser pulse has certain relationship with vegetation canopy structure (canopy closure, height, LAI, biomass). This study attempts to analyze the characteristics of airborne laser scanner data over very dense forest canopy. Discrete pulse laser scanner data were obtained on April 25, 2004 along with digital aerial color imagery. Using forest stand maps, 14 sample stands of 7 species groups were selected and the elevations from the first and last laser return were compared. From the preliminary analysis, we found that the difference between the first and last return was higher with deciduous forest stand than in coniferous stand. Although difference between the first and the last laser returns often corresponds to tree height, it would not be the case for the forest site having very dense canopy structure.

  • The output characteristics of solar cell vary with load and solar insolation. Therefore solar cell must always track maximum power point. If photovoltaic system is stand-alone. It is necessary to maintain for output of voltage source inverter. In this paper, stand-alone photovoltaic system consists of boost chopper and voltage source inverter. We make it to track maximum power point by revolution of solar cell array instead of detecting situation of sun in any conditions. And we prove that maximum power point tracking by revolution of solar cell array is better than fixed solar cell.

  • 내설악 전나무림 현황을 조사하고 이를 통하여 산림 생태계 이해방식을 비판적으로 고찰하였다. 조사는 1996년부터 2006년까지 수행된 것으로 일종의 중간보고서로 작성하였다. 임분의 수직구조 위주로 조사하였으며 비록 내설악 전나무림에 한정된 것이기는 하나 고전 천이론 보다는 Stand dynamic이 산림생태계를 설명하는데 적합하다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

Analysis of forest types and stand structures over Korean peninsula Using NOAA/AVHRR data

  • In this study, visible and near infrared channels of NOAA/AVHRR data were used to classify land use and vegetation types over Korean peninsula. Analyzing forest stand structures and prediction of forest productivity using satellite data were also reviewed. Land use and land cover classification was made by unsupervised clustering methods. After monthly Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) composite images were derived from April to November 1998, the derived composite images were used as temporal feature vector's in this clustering analysis. Visually interpreted, the classification result was satisfactory in overall for it matched well with the general land cover patterns. But subclassification of forests into coniferous, deciduous, and mixed forests were much confused due to the effects of low ground resolution of AVHRR data and without defined classification scheme. To investigate into the forest stand structures, digital forest type maps were used as an ancillary data. Forest type maps, which were compiled and digitalized by Forestry Research Institute, were registered to AVHRR image coordinates. Two data sets were compared and percent forest cover over whole region was estimated by multiple regression analysis. Using this method, other forest stand structure characteristics within the primary data pixels are expected to be extracted and estimated.

Characteristics on Stand-alone Operation of a Doubly-fed Induction Generator Applied to Adjustable Speed Gas Engine Cogeneration System

  • An application of doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG), which is one of adjustable speed generators, to a gas engine cogeneration system has been investigated. To operate during a blackout as an emergency power supply is one of important roles for the gas engine cogeneration system. However, the DFIG requires initial excitation for startup during a blackout because the DFIG has no excitation source. In this paper, we propose the "blackout start" as a new excitation method to generate a rated voltage at the primary side during a blackout. In addition, a stand-alone operation following a blackout has been investigated by using experimental setup with a real gas engine. Power flows in the generating set with the DFIG at the stand-alone operation have been investigated experimentally. Experimental investigation of the power flow suggests that the generating set with DFIG has optimal speed in minimizing whole system losses.

  • In view of global environmental problems and resource exhaustion, we must develop new energy resources that are abundant and provide substitutes for fossil fuels. Renewable energies, such as solar, are ideal because they are clean, inexhaustible, and available everywhere in the world. Photovoltaic(PV) system, in general, are operated as a stand-alone, grid-tied, or hybrid system. Many of the stand-alone PV systems are installed. Although the pre-installation cost of PV system is high, it poorly has been operated due to the absence of optimal management standards. Therefore a study on the performance of PV system is important for the system design and maintenance. In this paper a photovoltaic lighting system was resigned according to load consumption. Then a PV lighting system which used electrodeless lamp as a load was installed. In order to investigate the system operating characteristics we've added a monitoring system to the PV lighting system. The monitoring system using the LabVIEW program regularly checks the operation of the PV lighting system and records the system data. According to the system data, the stability and availability of the PV lighting system were evaluated.

  • This paper is about the study of a stand-alone photovoltaic power conditioning system with an energy storage system with battery. The paper proposes the appropriate circuit model of stand-alone PV PCS considering the maintenance of the battery system. It also proposes the buck converter modeling by a state-space averaging method considering characteristics of solar cell. Lastly, it shows the way to choose the suitable battery and to design the model of bi-directional converter for charging and discharging battery. PSIM simulation is used to validate the proposed algothim of the system.
