  • The concept of preprocessing is widely used in various computer science area such as compiler and software engineering for the purpose of macro processing and optimization. In addition, preprocessing is also used in SAT solvers in order to eliminate redundant literals and clauses to speed up its solving time before searching the state space. However, there is an unexpected run-time error such as stack-overflow during this step, in case the size of a given set of clauses is huge which impedes SAT solvers. In this case, the preprocessing should be applied at the encoding time to optimize its size. In this paper this idea is applied to several Sudoku problems. As a result, significant improvements are obtained with respect to the number of variables and clauses as well as the solving time compared to the previous works.

  • In the present study, Dravya-an organic compound used for seed treatment along with the common fungicides to test its compatibility in the management of Alternaria padwickii in paddy. Dravya (a sea weed extract) was found highly compatible with fungicides like Bavistin and Dithane M-45. Incidence of Alternaria padwickii and Bipolaris oryzae was also reduced to a greater extent in the paddy seed samples of Dravya treatment. On the other hand, it also enhanced the seed germination and seedling vigour. Seedlings of treated samples also showed enhanced activity of peroxidase upon challenge inoculation with Alternaria padwickii. The enzyme activity in the seedlings challenged with the pathogen was two fold more over control. The suppression in disease incidence in growing plants indicated the promising effect of Dravya and Dithane M-45 under green- house conditions.

  • This study examined the current-induced spin wave excitation in asymmetric nanopillar junctions with a stack sequence of 20 nm Pt/10 nm Cu/7 nm NiFe/300 nm Cu, and a circular lateral dimension of 240 nm. An analysis of the magnetic and magnetotransport characteristics of the junction showed a possible spin transfer effect at this sample dimension when the magnetization was switched from a vortex state to another state. This finding is expected to help improve the understanding of the spin transfer torque phenomenon in nanopillar junctions.

  • Polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells(PEMFC) are very interesting power source due to high power density, simple construction and operation at low temperature. But they have problems such as high cost, improvement of performance and effect of temperature. This problems can be approached using mathematical models which are useful tools for analysis and optimization of fuel cell performance and for heat and water management, in this paper, transient model consists of various energy terms associated with fuel cell operation using the mass and energy balance equation. And water transfer in the membrane is composed of back diffusion and electro-osmotic drag. The temperature calculated by transient model approximately agreed with the temperature measured by experiment in constant current condition.

  • On this Study, it conducts the Standards investigation about air leakage of Buildings for performance improvement of Smoke control in Fire. In domestic standards, it is incomplete the Criteria standards of air leakage. Therefore it is considered that won't limit the smoke spread due to stack effect. But in the case of the United States, it conducts the Hot smoke air-Leakage test and it consider that can prevent the Smoke Spread in Compartment.

  • Crossover of nitrogen from cathode to anode is inevitable in typical membranes used in PEM fuel cells. This crossovered nitrogen accumulates in anode recirculation system and excessive buildup of nitrogen in the recirculating anode gas lowers the hydrogen concentration and finally affects the performance of fuel cell stacks. In this study, characterization of nitrogen gas crossover was investigated in PEM fuel cell stacks. The mass spectroscopy (MS) has been applied to measure the amount of the crossovered nitrogen at the exit of anode. Results show that anode and cathode stoichiometric number ($SR_c$) have a big effect of nitrogen crossover.

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the air tightness of Zero Energy Solar House(ZeSH) and to propose the construction improvement of junctions and penetrations where air infiltration was identified. Air leakage rate were measured by means of blower door test in accordance with ASTM E779-87. The results showed that ZeSH has an excellent airtightness with ACH50/20 (air change per hour at a pressure difference of 50 Pa between inside outside) of 0.34hr-1 and leakage class E by normalized leakage area of ASHRAE.

  • In this paper, a parallel operation algorithm for high power PEMFC generation systems is proposed. According to increasing the capacity of fuel cell systems with several fuel cell stacks, the different dynamic characteristics of each fuel cell stack effect on imbalance of load sharing and current distribution, so that a robust parallel operation algorithm is desired. Therefore, a power-sharing technique is developed and explained in order to design an optimal distributed PEMFC generation system. In addition, an optimal controller design procedure for the proposed parallel operation algorithm is introduced, along with informative simulations and experimental results.

  • In the present study, the piezoelectricity and polarization of multilayer ceramic actuator, being designed to stack PMN-PZ-PT ceramic layers and Ag-Pd electrode layers alternatively, were investigated under a consideration of geometric factor, the volume ratio of the ceramic to the electrode layers. The actuators were fabricated by tape casting of 0.2Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3-0.38PbZrO3-0.42PbTiO3 followed by lamination and burnout & co-firing processes. The actuators of 10 10 0.62 nm3 in size were formed in a way that 60 200 m thick ceramics were stacked alternatively with 5 m thick electrode layer. Increases in polarization and electric field-induced displacement with thickness of the ceramic layer were attributed to change of 90o/180o domain ratio, which was affected by interlayer internal stress. The piezoelectricity and actuation behaviors were found to depend upon the volume ratio (or thickness ratio) of ceramic to electrode layers.
