  • In this paper, as a part of the method improving stability, the load-flow calculation in D.C. power system and the models for stability analysis are studied with A.C-D.C. interconnected power systems transmission performed. Moreover, the theory is established in relation to each control method of D.C. power systems. Then the stability of A.C-D.C.interconnected power systems is compared and considered by the way of dividing the operating control method of the rectifier inverter converter into ACR-AVR, APR-A.gamma.R, A.alpha.R-ACR. The dynamics characteristic of terminal voltage, frequency, active-reactive power and rotor angle of the generator with disturbances and load fluctuations is considered. In addition, the characteristic of direct voltage, direct current, power and control systems. From this the comparative analysis of the direct current control method, the possibility of the stability analysis of A.C.-D.C. interconnected power system is considered. • When a saturating control system has integral action, reset windup can cause instability as well as make the system performance unsatisfactory. An antirset-windup (ARW) limiter has been suggested to improve the stability and performance. It has been implemented with analog circuits and tested by simulations. This paper presents the stability condition of a double-integrator plant having the state feedback plus integral-action controller with the ARW limiter by using both Liapunov's second method and graphical method together.

  • This paper proposes the novel V/f control method to improve the stability of a V/f controlled induction motor drive system. The conventional V/f control method used in the proposed V/f control method is a vector-based method that is slightly different from the existing conventional V/f control method. The proposed control method uses a dynamic current compensator to improve the stability of a V/f controlled induction motor drive system. This proposed method is easy to implement and completely eliminates the motor oscillation phenomenon causing the instability of a V/f controlled induction motor drive system, especially when the system is driven near the resonant frequency in steady-state with light load. Additionally, this paper analyzes theoretically the instability of a V/f controlled induction motor drive system and shows the validity of the Proposed V/f control method through simulation and experimental results.

  • This paper proposes a bidirectional platoon control law using a coupled distance error based on the backstepping-like feedback linearization control method for an interconnected mobile agent system with a string structure. Unlike the previous results where the single agent was controlled using the only own information without other agents, the proposed control law cannot show the only distance error convergence of each agent, but also the string stability of the whole system. Also, the control performances are improved by the proposed control law in spite of low performance of bidirectional control strategy in the previous results. The proposed bidirectional platoon control algorithm is based on the backstepping-like feedback linearization control method. The position errors between each agent and the preceding and the behind agents are coupled by weighted summation. By the proposed control law, the distance error of each agent can converge to zero while the string stability is guaranteed when the coupled errors can converge to zero. To this end, the back-stepping control method is employed. The pseudo velocity input is determined considering the kinematic relationship between agents and the string stability. Then, the actual dynamic control input is determined to make the actual velocity converge to the pseudo velocity input. The stability analysis and the simulation results of the proposed method are included in order to demonstrate the practical application of the proposed algorithm.

  • In this paper, we propose an adaptive controller using RBFN(radial basis function network) for robot manipulators The structure of the proposed controller consists of a RBFN and VSC-1 ike control. RBFN is used in order to approximate かon system, and VSC-like control to guarantee robustness On the basis of the Lyapunov stability theorem, we guarantee the stability for the total system. And the learning law of RBFN is established by the Lyapunov method, Finally, we apply the proposed controller to tracking control for a 2 link SCARA type robot manipulator.

  • In this paper, the H$\infty$ control method is applied in the control of SPFC and generators in order to obtain the robust stability performance of the power system. Moreover, a SPFC H$\infty$ controller based on loop shaping is designed to achieve first-rate tracking properties in addition to the robust stability. This robust control method is applied to a Ward and Hale 6-bus power system and the effects are analyzed. The MATLAB program is used for simulation of the robust controller.

  • This paper proposes the control strategy of the shunt Flexible AC Transmission System (FACTS) devices to improve transient stability in multimachine power system. The multimachine power system has high nonlinear response after severe disturbance. The concept of Lyapunov energy function is applied to derive nonlinear control strategy and it was found that the time derivative of line voltage is not only can apply to control the shunt FACTS devices in multimachine system but also is locally measurable signal. The fuzzy logic control is also applied to overcome the uncertainty of various disturbances in multimachine power system. This paper presents the method of investigating the effect of the shunt FACTS devices on transient stability improvement. The proposed control strategy and the method of simulation are tested on the new England power system. It was found that the shunt FACTS devices based on the proposed nonlinear control strategy can improve transient stability of multimachine power system.

  • The states of control loops in existing actual systems are changed according to time varying conditions of controllest process and other system components. Adjusting control parameters properly at site which is performed generally by Ziegler & Nichols mthod is important for safe and efficient operation, but the method may require much time to adjust and not easy to inexperienced engineers. This study is aimed to propose more handy method to adjust control parameters by plotting operating conditions on the space of adjusting parameters. One loop of model control system without perturbation condition has been adopted and its stability limit was plotted on the coordinates of Gain and Integral time which was acquired after analyzing Nyquist diagrams and time domain responses. The result showed that the sets of adjusting parameters according to critical stability and proper stability could be acquired reasonably through both responses and the curves on parameter space revealed available patterns for the purpose of easy maintenance of control characteristics.

  • This paper concerns analysis technique on determining of attitude control gain in the low frequency region using stability area. The stability area is defined by the D-Decomposition method, which was designed by Neimark. In this paper, it is introduced D-Decomposition method from reference paper and design attitude control gain of generic launch vehicle during first stage flight phase. For selecting PD control gain, it is considered the system parameter uncertainty about whole first-stage flight phase, represented the stability area boundary on each case. After deciding the PD control gain using stability area method, it is applied to launch vehicle linear model, and checking the stability margin requirement, frequency response characteristics.

  • In this paper we introduce a modeling of wheeled mobile robot with a differential drive derived by R.M. DeSantis and using the dynamics model-ing with some disturbance term we control the wheeled mobile robot using fuzzy sliding mode control(FSMC) method. In a fuzzy control approach it is very difficult to prove the stability of the fuzzy controller. Therefore, to overcome that difficult proof of the stability in a fuzzy control method, we first propose a sliding mode controller and prove the stability of the proposed controller. Next, transforming the proposed sliding mode controller into a fuzzy sliding mode controller without changing the basic structure of the sliding mode con-troller, we easily obtain a fuzzy sliding mode con-troller(FSMC) whose stability is guaranteed with-out difficult stability proof procedure of the proposed FSMC.
